i can't find any with the name jpf...i tried jpA,jpH,jpM & jpK but nothing works. all stuck at zimage message. do u know which is compatible?
Do you put .tar file in PDA in Odin?
Also try different usb port or another pc.

first of all I think thah CF-ROOT is not for FROYO 2.2 . only gingerbread 2.3.
So you will need to find another kernel.
You can flash a stock rom via odin, it will be your best option. and if you do that flash a 2.3 one. it is much better then 2.2
Thanks guys...i finally managed to restore it. but i followed the hard way. first downloaded a new 2.3.3 firmware from samfirmware .the biggest problem was that odin 1.7. stops or "stuck" at the message "param.lfs" but after i woke up. i changed the USB port and it worked thanks "ramas123". "My friend's phone" is back to life. you may noticed i'm new to this forum so thanks for your help.

Hey i've soft bricked my n7000..
basically i just need to know what exactly to do now, kernels etc
ideally id like to be running Midnote 3.3
anyone kind enough to reply with help would be seriously appreciated!
Maybe if you gave some more information on what how when and why ?
Nobody can help you on a 'hey i lost my car can someone tell me where on this planet i parked this morning?'
Agree on above poster. We need to know what rom uou were flashing from, by what method, and the issue now.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Fair enough was thinking there was a straight forward fix, as in just flash this and do this etc..
i was running Midnote 2.1, i was on LP1 and tried to flash Midnote 3.3 using CWM.. it wasn't flashing as i couldn't see the .zip rom at all..
i then done a few factory wipes and basically just wiped the davlik and cache and tried any options in CWM
The issue now is that when i boot im stuck at the samsung splash screen..
I can boot into recovery and into cwm..
And what exactly happends now ?
dead black screen ?
Samsung logo blocked ?
PC odin doesn't connect ?
Can you enter CWM recovery ?
Can you enter boot recovery ?
I think you better try and flash a safe GB kernel and rom first
Then do a full wipe, then flash whatever you like.
You can best flash through PC odin for the stock GB

Stuck at Samsung logo
Can enter CWM and recovery, odin works as far as i can tell
I would suggest trying to flash a stock gb rom via pc odin. If you get stuck at the factory.fs stage you may well be superbricked because of the cwm recoveries and wipes on lpy.
There are a few threads on sorting out a problematic emmc section. But we'll get to that afyer youve tried this.

Thank you, I don't mean to be an effort but you hardly know where I can get a safe GB kernel and rom? i just want to be sure as im getting kind of worried now
Check out dr ketans thread in the stickies of d3velopment section. Theres loaf of info there. Its pretty straight forward if you flash initially to an older rom for your region. Take a look itll make sense promise.

nope you dont need a kernel when flashing stock GB rom
but 1st keep ur fingers crossed and pray that you get through the ODIN installation method
copy the GB rom file in ODIN folder and open ODIN and click on PDA and select the downloaded GB ROM file and press START
You legends! the stock gb rom worked perfect...
now comes the slightly trickier part.. loading the Midnote 3.3 rom
anyone using this rom? 2.1 was great!
whats the safest way to flash this, kernel wise etc?
thanks again lads
also, now that im back on the stock gb rom.. do i need to root again????
i tried getting into cwm and it brought me into android recovery mode ( still had install zip from sd option)

Yes, you will need to root it if you didn't flash a GB pre-rooted ROM.
And I think the CWM.zip file is on drketan's thread.
Guys im running midnote rom fine BUT it keeps vibrating every 5-8 seconds........................
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.. any ideas!???
Hi,
Due to my Nexus being sent away for repair a friend has given me an i9000 but with a small problem, it's stuck on the boot screen (he has played with various ROMs). I would like to restore it to working order and have been reading all I can on this excellent forum. I have grasped I need Odin and a complete boot ROM but cannot find anywhere I can download all three files (PDA, PHONE and CSC). I found the samMobile firmware page but they don't contain the files?
Can anyone please tell me where I can get these files, I'm desperate!!
if i were you i would use darky rom, its is the stock rom without all the unused stuff that are slowing down the phone.

Hey guys,
So basically, i rooted using using a guide i found here on XDA, worked great, did it with CWM.zip and SU-Busybox-Installer.zip, Went real easy for a noob like me!
The problem ive got now, i dont seem to have a proper copy of CMW recovery installed, just the stock recovery.
This wouldnt be too much of a problem, however i read the follow :
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/insta...xy-note-on-xxlpy-ice-cream-sandwich-firmware/
This is worrying, it sounds to be more difficult to install a proper CMW recovery than it is too root on this build number : IML74K.XXLPY
Overall, all im aiming for this Kernel :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863
And this ROM :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716088
(Performance, stock rom with a little OC basically, if you know easier/better combinations, please link them!)
If any of u clever folk know where i can find me some idiot friendly information/links/guides to pull what (I think) is a mammoth task, please feel free to point me in the right way.
Thanks in advance, Sorry for what might seem like daft questions
Is downgrading to GB a must or can i just install a new ROM with mobile ODIN pro?

What you should do is:
- Download a GB rom from SamMobile, Preferably a directly rootable one (i suggest KKA).
- Download ODIN
- Flash the GB Rom via Odin (open the rom in the PDA section), don't worry flashing an official rom wont raise your flash counter.
- Download the InitialCFRootFlasher.zip and this CF-Root Kernel.
- Extract the files (repeat for the zImage).
- Place the zImage file from the CF-Root kernel in the zImage folder from InitialRootFlasher.
- Start "not-rooted-yet.bat" and follow the instructions.
When finished you will have a rooted GB rom.
Next you would like to flash the ICS LPY Rom.
- Download the LPY ROM.
- Download the CF-Root Kernel.
- Extract the files (repeat for the zImage)
- Place both files on your SD card.
- Install MobileOdin.
- Install the Device Specific files.
- Press 'Open File' and select the LPY Rom.
- Press 'Kernel' and select the zImage.
- Enable EverRoot, SuperSU , Inject Mobile ODIN and Wipe Dalvic cache.
- Flash firmware.
When rebooted you will have a rooted LPY rom with CWM and busybox.
Dont mix the zImages up or else your screwed.
I do not take credit for this tutorial ,this is thanks to Chainfire and his hard work so if you like it, please donate to him.
Is it not necessary to download a GB rom one with a matching csc?

These CF-Root kernels are stock kernels modified by Chainfire. He pre-rooted the kernel and added CWM, BusyBox and SuperSU. These kernels are considered safe if you stick to the tutorial by the letter!!.

Hey guys, followed by the book, cant even get past the initial setup screen, just crashes every application it tries to start as soon as i 'press the android', so im stuck at the moment, hopefully its not beyond rescue!
EDITED: So, i did a factory reset as i was already GB, works fine, flashed ICS LPY with mobile odin, got CWM and busybox, now its time to flash the custom ROM, which option in PC odin so i select for choosing the kernel zimage?
is it bootload/pda/phone or csc. according to the guide for the rom im interested in which is in my OP, i need to flash kernel FIRST
thanks so far guys, all the information has been correct and im almost done
One more thing though, the samsung keyboard is still typing null on key entry on this ICS also, is this something i should worry about? i prefer swiftkey either way!
Im now running a custom ROM and Kernel, scary stuff, but so much more comfortable with the process now, this is due to Lodi and Baz77, Many thanks to you both!
Its all my pleasure!

You can with save kernel, however
always reboot recovery when on save kernel so you are on save kernel recovery should you wish to wipe, and share the knowledge!

I've been looking for the stock kernel for my Galaxy S4 GT-I9500. I flashed a custom kernel thinking about "higher scores" in benchmark tests but it didn't work and now I'm getting lower scores... Even with the CPU overclocked to 2.0 GHz... But I can't find the stock kernel.
I have the stock firmware (thanks to SAMMOBILE) on my laptop but I am trying to avoid the master reset. I'm uploading a screenshot of my current firmware so that it would be easier.
I hope someone can help me and if this is a repeated thread; well sorry about that.
THANKS! :good:

Please open the tar.md5 file of your rom with WinRAR and extract the boot.img file and send to me i'll convert it to you as an Odin flashable pack
EDIT : Here is the link for the stock kernel extracted from my rom zip and converted to an Odin flashable pack It goes on the AP tab of odin no need to wipe anything https://mega.co.nz/#!ZZ5HQSLK!5VSAHAQW8_n2upHObILy7lLNa2coEFI-KRdwibC7WIA
