my imagio died, it turns on it shows the HTC logo and then just vibrates without stoping.
i downloaded the ROM for it and trying to flash it from the memory card...
Flashing device using Storage Card
Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32.
You don't have to delete all the files, but it's safer if you do.
Download your preferred Rom from the Imagio ROM Development Forum.
You may need to Un- zip / rar the file if the chef compressed it.
Make sure, your devices battery status is NOT LESS than 50%.
Go to the ROM's Folder and rename the .nbh file to WHITIMG.nbh
This may have already been done for you.
Copy the WHITIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
Insert MicroSD Card into the phone
Enter the phone's bootloader. Instructions:
Power down the phone.
While holding down the VOLUME DOWN button, Power the phone back on.
Continue holding the VOLUME DOWN button until the TRI-Colored screen shows up. At that time, release the button
Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
Press the power button to flash the ROM to the device.
After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
Click to collapse
i put it in boot mode it starts flashing and its stuck on - loading... for a while, like an hour. is that normal, how long does it take to flash it or am i doing something wrong.
tnx

You can find it in the rom development forum.
Go into bootloader mode (phone off, press vol down + power button till you get a screen with colours), connect ur phone to the computer and when you have a ROM image, if it's .nbh, just rename it to TOPAIMG.nbh and move it to SD-cards root folder. If it's a .exe just extract all the files from it using WinRar, rename the .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh and move to SD-cards root folder.
* Be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
* Turn off your device by using the Power Button.
* Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
* After that your device with have a white screen with text " Press to power button for continue upgrade or Press Volume down button for cancel upgrade , select press to power button and it will start upgrade Rom.

[Q] I meesed up

I was loading MAGLDR and during the installation something went wrong. I couldn't install anything and my HD2 does not pass the Tmobile welcome screen. Can you all help me or I need another phone?
Can you access bootloader by turning off the phone and holding the down volume button and power button at the same time when turning it back on?
Can you still get into magldr at all?
I would try to see if that works if not try going to bootloader and flashing back to most current stock file for your device.
If you can't get into Magldr:
Get back to stockrom first:
1) Format MicroSD with FAT32
2) Copy a NBH from stock rom, rename it to LEOIMG.NBH & copy it to the root of the memory card.
3) Insert memory card into phone, hold down Volume down button for 3 Seconds & press power button.

Alright everyone, I have an NC that I rooted quite awhile ago to great success. However, in my quest for updating to ics, I completely deleted everything. Buttons don't work, and for some reason I can't have it access my computer's hard drive because it won't turn on.
So, if anyone has any ideas for fixing it, it would be much appreciated. All I think I need is the original NC software (everything) and a way to put it on the hdd that I can't access. Thanks in advance.
I think you should be able to make (or re-use) a CWM card and use it to install a fresh rom. Unless it's totally borked, the NC should still boot first from the SD card.
I would, but the only problem is that I cannot even get the device to power on, the buttons don't work.
Edit: Here's the deal, I just need the damned thing to power up for me so I can mount the sdcard and restore it. But whatever utility makes the buttons work, is gone - they aren't just merely broken. So I can press the buttons and the kernel or whatever it is that interacts with the buttons will not understand what is going on because the utility is not there.
If anyone has a solution for either powering it on via usb (with the device off) or getting the buttons to work again, great.
Can anybody access their NC cwm for me and try to find whatever it is that I deleted? It has something to do with buttons or what not.
Are you holding the power button on for several seconds.. Until the screen flashes?

^ What he said. Sometimes I have to hold the power down for quite a while, or try it several times. This is usually after an SOD (it may help to have it charging too).
Yes and yes. I hold it for quite awhile. Still does nothing.
Have you tried holding down the n button along with the power button?
Hold both for 10 seconds. Release. Hold power button alone for 10 seconds. Sometimes it takes 2 or three cycles of holding down both buttons, then the power.button to get the nook reset.

Just because the screen does not flicker, and you can’t access the file system from your computer using a USB cable, does not mean that the device has not powered on. I can format the whole file system, and the power button will turn it on every time. For turning on the device, the power button is independent of the file system.
It sounds like you have just screwed up the files in the boot partition. I screwed up my device to this point more than a couple times. I had the same none flickering screen, and no file system access from a USB cable. The NC is programmed to boot from a SD card before internal storage, there is really no way that you could have screwed it up to the point that it won’t continue to do that. Below are the steps that I have always taken to get back to a working device,
*fully charge the device, this is very important, because the device might have been on this whole time, and you just could not see it
*Download the stock 1.2 update.zip found HERE, get the “update-nc-stock-1.2-signed.zip” file
*Now download the file to make a bootable CWM card found HERE
*Follow the directions in that post to make your bootable CWM card, then place the “update-nc-stock-1.2-signed.zip” file onto that card
*Put the bootable CWM card into your NC
*Hold the power button, and count to 3, then let go
*If after a count to 10, nothing has appeared on the screen, repeat the last step, you most likely just turn the device off.
*This time CWM should load up, select “wipe cache partition,” followed by “wipe cache partition”
*Now scroll down to and select “mounts and storage”
*Now scroll down to and select “format /boot”
*When that has completed, you will then select “install zip from sdcard”
*Then select “choose zip from sdcard,” and select the “update-nc-stock-1.2-signed.zip” file
*If you receive an error at the very start of the install process, you need to select “toggle script asserts,” to disable script asserts
*When that has completed, remove the card, select reboot the device, and boot the device no SD card in it
Your device should now boot just like stock. At this point you should be back to a completely stock NC.
Report back with any results, good or bad.
Is it necessary to format /system and /data as well if changing between firmware?
Can't try it just yet, but after I'm done traveling it will be top-priority.

froyo 2.2 update files

Does anyone knwo where i can locate the files for the stock update to froyo 2.2 I have search high and low but in the one reseounce i found it had 2 files but the second file download was broken link.
Quoted below i just need the second file if anyone could help.
Download this file:
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/tmobile_opal/894fb8631db9.hboot-1.33.0013.opal.zip
That is the HBOOT image and is the first part of the patch. Download and save that on your computer. Next download this:
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/tmobile_opal/e3671133717d.signed-opal-FRG83-from-DMD6...
That is the second part of the update and is the actual update to Froyo. Download that and save that on your computer.
Next, just to be sure, BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA and make sure you know all your passwords! Do a factory reset on your phone.
Once that's done and you're back into your phone, copy the first file you downloaded (the HBOOT image file) to your SD card on the phone in the root directory of the SD card (not inside any subfolder), and rename it to update.zip. Make sure you name it update.zip not anything else or it won't work.
Turn your phone off.
Hold down the Home key and the power button and hold them both down while the phone powers up until you see a screen that has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it and a picture of the phone next to it. Once you see that screen, press Home and power once again. This will bring you to the recovery screen. You will see an option that says Apply update.zip from SD card. Use the trackball to scroll down to it and click it. It will then install the HBOOT update. The phone will reboot a few times during the process. Don't interrupt it! Once it's done, it'll boot back into the 1.6 desktop. Part 1 of the update is now complete!
Now delete the previous update.zip file from earlier in the process from the SD card. Now, copy the 2nd file you downloaded to the SD card in the root directory and rename it update.zip.
Turn off your phone.
It will then install the actual Froyo update. Again, the phone will reboot several times during the process. Don't interrupt it! Once it's done, it'll boot back up and you will now be running Froyo!
I recommend also doing another factory reset after the phone is fully updated... just to be sure (it's what I did). Enjoy, everyone!

[HELP] Restoring of brick Huawei U8800

Restoring of brick Huawei U8800.
All do at your own risk! I am not responsible for your machines!
Today I was able to magically (just wonderful, because it found the time at which there is a chance to run the update) to recovery from a brick Huawei U8800 (corrupted bootloader + recovery not run + in a pink screen not mounted hard drive + when trying to update the written Update failed! I spoke to a service center, they said the warranty is not the case and we must change the motherboard (the cost of 3-4 million BYR, new at the MTS salon cost 2.9 million BYR )
What and how I did:
1) To restore I'am using the firmware B162 Android.
2) Format the micro SD card that was clean (I was 8 gb, 2 class and be sure to FAT 32) and unpack "dload" folder and ".txt" file(with a strange name) from the downloaded archive to sdcard.
P.S. I say that not all flash drives can operate restore, I have like three went, normally only one.
3) Insert the micro SD into the phone and pull out the battery.
4) Hold down the Volume (+) and power up, hold and connect the phone via cable to your PC, your phone will be switched on and the logo appear, then turned off my phone (missing logo). So, when the logo will disappear (ie the phone will turn off) and immediately hold down the volume (-) the volume (+) and power up.Main that the updating process can start only one time after the logo was gone, if after a few times in a row press both the volume keys and power up, updating does not start, it is necessary to re-clamp the volume (+) and the power up, after the disappearance of the logo, both the volume and the power up of ... I have to go to the upgrade process if you wrote "Update failed!", try again (I went with 2 times).
5) After a successful update, the phone will reboot, on reboot he should loaded the standard blue recovery.
6) Turn off the phone from the computer, insert the battery, hold down the volume (-) the volume (+) and turn on, wait until you get a pink screen, release the button and connect it to your computer. You should see a new device and to define a disk drive with a folder "image". If we define - rejoice!) If not, then you need to install the driver on the internet enough to the driver, as well as the wood in my going to the Android SDK, not sure ...
7) Thus, we can assume the phone repaired) Download recovery 4.0.0.5 and unpack the archive and copy the file "recovery.img" to a folder "image" with the replacement. A man does not 4.0.0.5 recovery loaded, it is strange, but recovery 5.0.2.7 normally loaded
8.) Disconnect the phone from the computer, pull out / insert the battery and try to enter the recovery (volume (+) and power up).
9) If set, then everything is OK and can now be sewing. I still put 2.2 Geno v8.4 + software package from Google, but I recommend again read all instructions on the firmware, to avoid problems!
Good luck, hope that helped someone, he sat on the forums more than one day, but have not found a solution.
If someone has turned out, a sign of gratitude you can throw money on my phone +375297176005 (MTS, Belarus), would be very grateful
P.S.
Instructions is my and it's my first, that do not copy and paste, you can search the Internet. Do not judge strictly, if something is not designed ...
If there are people who helped, I think you can throw his hat in the description. My message is also present in our 4pda.
Hope springs eternal
Sorry for my english, I'm from Belarus and bad know it

Hello, I have a problem after changing recovery.img. Now after power on only error message: Image signature verify fail. Your boot/recovery image may have an incorrect signature. Please update your image to a signature official one. You can remove battery for power down.

Just thought I would mention it, if you connect the pink screen to Ubuntu/Linux, it will most likely mount.
Just tried this recovery method on a bricked U8800. Didn't do anything at all. Must admit that it was bricked in a way that i didn't see anything at all on the screen. Neither did i notice anything in dmesg on a linux machine.
Help
