Hello together,
yesterday i bought a brand new HTC HD2 and the first thing I did was to install Android on it
After reading some "how-to's" it finaly worked but not as good as I expected. Its now very fast and I think its because of my 4GB SD Card which i much slower than the NAND. So is it possible to install the whole ROM in the flash or is the flash to small for that?
I have installed "Magldr" and my card has an 2gb partition with 0MB swap - is that to correct configuration for the "Desire HD 3.06.405.1 with Sense 3.0" ROM?
And what does this mean: "5/150/5" - I think this is for correct partition of the internal RAM or the HD2, right? How can I check if my configuration is correct??
There was also a zip file "CWR 150mb for EU by Gabriel51" but i don't know how to install.
Thanks
Alex
if you download a 150mb CWR you just flash it and you have corect partiton on the nand, just flash it, reboot into magldr menu, coose 'Usb flasher' plug your usb to phone, then you will see this msg on screen 'Wait for usb... usb' when you see this, run DAF from youre CWR folder wait til the end an you will have recovery
Sorry, but i don't unterstand what your tried to explain to me
How can I flash the CWR zip file? I tried it within the "AD Recovery" console in magldr on the same way as i installed the main image but i get an error message when i try to install it this way...
What is DAF?

you do it in wrong way. unzip cwr file at pc. there you'll see daf file. connect mobile to pc. in mgldr go to usb flasher. be sure you see usb flasher......usb. right click on daf. run as administrator. after installation is complete, install rom.zip through ad recovery.

I was following this guide:

installed HSPL no problem, updated to new radio, then installed MAGDLR. I am now stuck on the MAGDLR boot menu, my computer is not recognizing any of the USB connections I try with the phone. So basically I am now stuck on the MAGDLR boot menu with no way to uninstall it or advance that I can find. Any advice?

Sorry, was a little rushed before. My PC does recognize a usb connection. Found daf.exe, gave me this error message when I used it:
An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: Config load failed.
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (725)
Error Description: CONFIG: can't open config file
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (304)
ah yea that. not sure what to suggest, other than turning off any activesync connections (although that would usually be for the 'usb init' error) and running daf as administrator
Still getting the same trouble running as admin, though im not too sure how to turn off activesync (or whether or not its actually on)
what does DAF.exe do? Ive got this ROM downloaded:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918899
not quite sure how its supposed to make it onto the device. I'm a real noobie at this, thanks for you help by the way.
so is there a tutorial or something you would suggest? or anyway I could uninstall MAGDLR from my phone so I could atleast have a phone until I figure this stuff out?
daf.exe (possibly Dark forces Android Flasher .exe? ) is the program you run on the pc to start the flash, and the windows mobile roms version it is called customruu.exe, and for stock roms if you extract them, it is ROMUpdateUtility.exe, , , , the flashing program, basically.
First thing i'd try in your situation, if available, would be a different PC.

ok, ive just re read your posts, , do you HAVE magldr on your phone?
lets assume yes you do, so, erm,,,,, (i cant write detailed instructions, there are loads of steps and variations for the bits you need to do, , ill break it down as best i can into a 123)
with the aim of flashing a zip rom, from sd using clockwork.
0 prepare SD card - EXT partition - your rom.zip on the FAT32 partition (can do this by mounting usb storage from magldr menu if you dont have a card reader)
1 apply hspl - 2.08.hspl
2 make sure radio is 2.10.50 or higher
3 into bootloader - usb - flash magldr ***
4 into magldr menu - usb flasher - flash the clockwork mod using the partition size you want. ***
5 into magldr menu - boot AD SD - this will start the clockwork menu
6 'install zip from sd card'
7 'choose zip from sdcard' - select the zip you put on the sd card
*** both these steps include a DAF.exe - don't confuse them, put magldr in one folder, clockwork in a different one.
when its done, restart, and it should load. be warned teh first boot can take a loong time, dont be worried if it hits ten mins, twenty, maybe. Ive had a few roms that set up but dont boot right, a quick battery pull usually sorts it.

this is the screen that comes up when I boot it.
the very top reads: aMAGDLR v1.13
Build: Feb 1 2011
then it goes into the boot menu
Is this MAGDLR?
I know I have the first 2 steps up right, and I am now trying on my laptop, but I still cant get the Daf from either the MAGDLR or the Gingerbread. Im going to run through it again using your instructions right now

If he was able to flash anything from the "usb flasher" this thread would not exist. So flashing from sd requires you to flash a cwm through "usb flasher" where his pc didn't recognize usb. Try different pc/port restart pc and try again.
Also go into usb flasher. Start dft and then plug in cable. Wait for "...usb" then try again..in admin mode for example

It's a more clear & consolidated guide as chatbox pointed out
I've tidied it up to make it easier to read.
I'm sure now you'll see it's more useful / easy to follow than all the other guides out there
you do not need to root the phone before hand as darkys is pre routed for you once you have flashed it with the rom
how about adding instructions for us that need to use a different modem? (i8000m)
Very helpful. Thanks!
Every ICS, JB ROM developer will have a Flashing guide in their ROM download page so you can use that guide. But this guide includes a strict requirement detail to avoid any problems for Noobs
Requirements :-
1) Rooted i9000 with CWM recovery
2) Do not have any sort of lagfix applied (UNDO FIRST) ( Never do a factory reset when you have LagFix applied)
3) Backup your EFS folder to Ext.SD card or PC. (Why and How to)
4) Battery is fully charged
5) SIM Card and Ext.SD card removed
6) Phone is unlocked (NO USIM lock present)
7) You can do a nandroid backup, If you like to have one for future reversion.
[For a CLEAN Flash,(If you intent to do this way, you will lose everything on your SD card by doing this, so save your Backups and important data files to PC First.) IN CWM you can go to mounts and Storage and format every partition, after that, mount USB storage and connect your phone to PC to copy CM9 and gapps to your SD card] Avoid this, IF you are a Noob
Download:- For CM 9 (ICS) or your chosen Files for ICS
CM9 from http://get.cm/get/jenkins/7080/cm-9.1.0-galaxysmtd.zip
gapps from http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
or you can download the latest CM 10 (Jelly Bean) from http://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd and latest Gapps from http://goo.im/gapps/ or even CM 7.2 from same links NOTE:- Always Start with a Gingerbread 2.3.6, Flash ICS First before Flashing Jelly bean , this will be the proper procedure, do not jump from GingerBread to Jellybean
8) just place this two Zip files in your Internal SD card by copy paste.
Flashing in CWM:- This example is for CM 9 . IT will the same for CM 10 or CM 7.2
Use CWM app and select "Reboot into ClockWorkMod recovery" or the way you know how to. (Use volume keys to scroll & power key to select in ClockWorkMod)
1) Do a WIPE (factory reset + wipe cache partition)
2) chose "install zip from sdcard"
3) Select "choose zip from sdcard"
4) Select "cm-9.1.0-galaxysmtd.zip" or your chosen ROM > Select "Yes" and Flashing will take place
Flash the same file one more time, Meaning repeat steps 2,3 & 4 again for ICS to avoid problems
Now Flash the Gapps
5) Select "choose zip from sdcard"
6) Select "gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip" or latest gapps> Select "Yes" and Flashing will take place
Once complete, select "Go Back" and "reboot system". Thats it, :victory: you will be on ICS.
If it failed to load into ICS, First power down, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute , than power up without SIM and Ext.SD Card.. and test again.
In the event you get a bootloop because you rebooted the phone without completing the process and can't enter CWM recovery, flash an ICS Semaphore kernel using Odin in download mode, then enter CWM and flash again the steps 2 to 6
Check this out!You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.

1)Reformat your memory card to a FAT32 file system.
2)Copy the Gingerbread Zip file to your memory card. DO NOT EXTRACT THE FILES!
3)Extract the HD2 Toolkit to your desktop like how I have it in the video. 4)Open The HD2 Toolkit AS ADMINISTRATOR! (For Windows Vista and 7 only)
Flash the Magloader. Turn the phone off and put the phone in bootloader by holding the Volume Down button and the Power button together. In the HD2 toolkit, press the Install Magldr and follow the steps.
5)Flash the Radio. Put the phone in bootloader again and where it says “Install Custom NBH/NB RUU File”, click browse. Browse to the HD2 toolkit folder and you will see a folder called “Radio”. Select the 2.12.50.02.nbh and press Install RUU.
6)After the phone restarts Mag Loader, press the Volume Down button until you get to #5 (USB Flasher) and press the Call button (Green button) and it will be in USB Flasher Mode. It will say Wait for USB…USB.
7)In the HD2 toolkit, select MagLdr repartition and choose the 150MB File size. Leave the Cache size the same (45). Then press Repartition.
8)After it is done, the phone will restart into Magldr. Go to AD Recovery. Go to “Install Zip From SD Card. Then “Choose Zip from SD Card”. Select the ROM and Press Yes. After it is done, press the back button and then press Reboot System.

i have problem i follow method rom photonic CM 7.2 nand boot but ihave screen stuck on
nand id:0x5500bcec maker=0xec device=0xbc
press VOLUME UP for RECOVERY
press VOLUME DOWN for FASTBOOT
ERROR: cannot read boot image header
ERROR: could not do normal boot. Reverting to fastboot mode.
ENTERING FASTBOOT MODE
udc_start()
then i follow this
1 Preparation
1a. Extract the LK_16.Jul.2012.rar or ("CWM LK Boot Recovery (16-July-2012).zip" for the iPlasm’s Photonic ROM) to anywhere on your computer. Note this file is updated from time to time too just like the roms.
1b. Open that folder and unzip (extract) the subfolder "LK-Photonic-SD.rar" ("LK Boot SDCard.zip" for iPlasm’s Photonic ROM). Copy each of those three files (without folder) directly to the Root of SDCard ie. Lk.bin, startup.txt and HARET_Photon7227.exe.
1c. Also copy gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip and the CM9 rom file(s).zip to SDCard (plus all updates if any are specified for the ROM) directly to the Root of SDCard too. Do not unzip (extract) these .zip files. If you don’t copy these zip files now, you can still do later after the NAND has been installed except you have to mount the USB drive with the cable via CWM Recovery LK Boot.
1d. Make sure your GPS is working in WM6.5 (to prevent the GPS issue).
1e. Make sure you have your official Stock ROM for your device (country specific) in case you need to restore to WM6.5. Refer to Schlund's instructions headed under How to go back to WinMobile NAND-BOOT
2 Install Munjeni's CWM Recovery LK Boot (16 July 2012)
2a. Disconnect the cable then in the Phone, Open File Explorer and navigate to SDCard and touch at HaRET. File Explorer at this step means the HD Mini file explorer for Windows Mobile 6.5 (the original WM6.5 operating system already on your phone). HARET.exe must be run from the phone. If you don't follow instruction 1b and 1c properly (to put the necessary files on the SDcard), then this step won't work.
2b. The screen will reboot and show the following (or something similar) in dark blue text. Don't panic as it is a normal part of the procedure!:
nand id:0x5500bcec maker=0xec device=0xbc
press VOLUME UP for RECOVERY
press VOLUME DOWN for FASTBOOT
ERROR: cannot read boot image header
ERROR: could not do normal boot. Reverting to fastboot mode.
ENTERING FASTBOOT MODE
udc_start()
2c. Since you are now in fastboot mode, you need to install the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) driver files. To do this, just reconnect the USB cable between the phone and the PC. You may be asked on the PC for the drivers needed to connect the phone. If so, they are in the Google Windows USB driver folder (in the LK_16.Jul.2012.rar (Munjeni)/ "CWM LK Boot Recovery (16-July-2012).zip" (iPlasm).
2d. Wait very patiently for a few minutes whilst the drivers are installed (it might seem it is not doing anything in this time but you need to wait). You can check if they are installed by opening the Windows device manager and looking for a fastboot device listed under the USB hardware. If not, then do a manual install in Windows.
2e. Once the Windows notification pops up to say the device drivers have been installed (assuming the PC needs to install the drivers), then click on the PC file “Update.bat” (this file is in the LK_16.July.2012.rar/CWM LK Boot Recovery (16-July-2012).zip). In the menu that comes up, install options (ie. First do (1) then select (2)). What this does is it automatically erases boot recovery, userdata, system, cache, misc, and recovery.

Everything you did is perfect!
now, in the last (2e.), What windows you're using and 32bit or 64bit?
after that, It seems you haven't entered (FastBoot) or it haven't been probably entered Fastboot in the picture, It should be written under line 5 or 6.
When written similar (entering fastbootmode) then you can install by clinking Update.bat, and do the instructions...
And remember... every time when you want to install new cwm recovery you should be in Fastboot mode.
Have a nice try...
