1) Skype & Bluetooth
1.1) When in a normal skype call my bluetooth headset work fine for audio but it ignores the microphone
1.2) When in a normal skype call and we switch to a video call or if someone calls with video it ignores my bluetooth headset & plays on speaker but if I insert wired earphones it comes through on them.
2) When I'm wanting to listen to the radio I can't use my bluetooth headset because the phone wants a cable inserted but if I insert wired earphones for signal but keep bluetooth on it ignores the bluetooth and plays onto the wired earphones.
Can anyone help with those issues pointed out above?

Not sure if you were able to switch sound to the bluetooth headset, that you would still be able to receive the FM radio signal. The FM radio uses the bluetooth receiver to receive the radio signals (bluetooth is a just a form of short-range FM radio).

So you are saying its impossible to use bluetooth whilst using FM Radio as it's one channel is being actively used?
The main issue I really want to get fixed is the Skype issue.... it doesn't have this problem outside of CM mods (it worked fine in MIUI and Sense Based ROMS)

I clearly said I'm not sure. Just pointing out that the FM radio uses the Bluetooth receiver, and that might interfere with using a BT headset at the same time. But somebody with more technical knowledge of how the BT receiver on our phone works will need to chime in with a definitive answer.

Can anyone tell me if the XDA II can be upgraded regarding the version of Bluetooth ie. spec states ver 1.1 can this be upgraded to ver 1.2 which allows for the use of stereo bluetooth headsets etc.
Thanks
Mike Simmonds
i think bluetooth revision and profiles supported are 2 different things
you may want to look into bluetooth stacks insted of revisions because i think thats hardware related
I guess from this then, my original question should now be,"Can I use/upgrade my XDA II with bluetooth stereo headset (rated bluetooth v1.2)"
Thanks for the reply

AFAIK, Bluetooth v1.2 is backward compatible with v1.1. Besides the same basic technical stuff, the 1.2 adds Advance Frequency Hopping so it can connect better in a crowded wireless radio area and faster connection between Bluetooth devices... And the v1.2 compatible Bluetooth devices can still connect until 100 metres.
So basically yes, you can use a device/headset rated Bluetooth v1.2 with your XDA.
I once tested a v1.2 Bluetooth headset from Billionton to connect with an XDA II Mini, I can still communicate with the Mini and me are roughly 80 metres apart, although the sound quality was horrendous, it's mostly because of the headset itself, not the connection fault.
Just to be sure, try pairing it first if you want to buy a v1.2 Bluetooth headset with your XDA.
Can I assume also, that I would be able to stream stereo audio via the XDA II to the stereo bluetooth headset, & would a headset mic also function?
Thanks for your reply

As far as I understand, both Himalaya and Blue Angel are equipped with Bluetooth version 1.1.
I've done some research on this, since I wanted to connect stereo headsets to my MDA III just like you apparently. The 1.2 standard is downwards compatible and apparently it will work to connect a 1.2 "stereo" headset to your device. BUT you will not be able to enjoy stereo.
Headset and device can connect, but since your device uses 1.1, it won't be able to broadcast stereo.
(I haven't tried all this, but it's what I found out during extensive research).
Apparently, Bluetooth 1.2 requires a new chip. So unfortunately it isn't that easy to upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2.
the ms bluetooth stack and also the vidcomm i believe dont support A2DP
which is required to get stereo audio to a headset
you can use this though

I would want/need an application w/c has a profile capability that will allow audios(call, microphone, mp3) to be redirected to both the wired earphone and at the same time spearphone or the phone itself, while the wired earphone is still plugged in. The audio needs to come out or the sound should come out on both the wired earphone and phone or speakerphone. I need this while driving and my wife needs to hear the message from the party being called or called upon. Or if I'm listening to a good music on my wired headset only, but later on would like to share it to everybody while driving again. I need to be able to toggle it easily. I've seen phoneweaver and phonealarm but these two does not fit the need describe above. If there is none existing, can somebody create this very simple app for my need? I'm willing to donate if ever. Btw, my unit is an O2 Xda Atom and I got this idea from the build in FM radio build in application that has this button w/c allows audio on both wired headset and phone. It does not work on calls and turning the radio always on drains the battery. And the wired headset acts as the antenna. Thanks in advance.
Hello. I've bought the blackstone and I need hear the radio fm throught the bluetooth (jabra 530, sheinheiser vmx100 and others).
It can be?.
Thanks.

don't have a blackstone but my radio app let me choose headset or normal speaker
but when connected to bluetooth headset as stereo headset my x1 still play radio out the pda speaker
Then ...
...it is impossible hear the radio by bluetooth headset?.
In the kaiser I heared perfect "the .mp3" but in the blackstone
I can't.
I need make it.

Hi Imanoltxo, This has been asked several times on several device sub forums.
Unless some one writes a new device driver (very unlikely as it is very complicated and time intensive) for the FM radio, answer is a big NO.

BTW you can plug in a bluetooth transmitter to the 3.5 mm jack and hear the radio via BT. But then u got inconvenience of carrying one more device with you...
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this
I have just upgraded from a kaiser to the HD2. I have a Bury take and talk car kit installed so have replace the Kaiser cradle with the Universal Bluetooth cradle. The phone pairs ok, the volume is low over the car speakers but this was the same for the kaiser and I have found that bury sell an amplifier to boost the volume. So far so good.
My question now is is there any way for routing music and gps instructions over the bluetooth connection. Registry hack, app or whatever. I cant see that it cant be done. I have read bits on other threads / forums about routing to Bluetooth headsets, and im thinking this is similar.
Anyone got any good ideas? I havent installed or messed with much yet so am willing to try stuff and hard reset if required
If the carkit doubles as a bluetooth headset and no more, it will only support the protocol which enables you to place calls with the carkit, and route the audio and mic for the call over bluetooth. If you want an audio connection, be sure your carkit allows for an A2DP connection - then you will get music and possibly also voice streams via bluetooth out of your car speakers.
Hi Guys,
I have upgraded to Litening ROM 2.1 recently and my bluetooth is still not properly handled by i9100.
I used to be able to skype using bluetooth headset, both the mic and head phones were working, but each firmware after KF1 has successfully broken it.
Since then, bluetooth headphones work fine, however the microphone on the headphones does not transmit sound to the other party, that is when using Bluetooth for skype talks.
Bluetooth headset works normally for regular phone calls, though, both speakers and microphone on the headset.
Can anyone confirm it on their headsets and if you know anything about this (potential fix or other info), can you share?
Thanks.
