hey guys can someone do a guide to prepare a developer unlocked nodo for mango? since tomorrow is the update form most of us this would be kinda cool!
thanks!!!
if it's a legit dev unlock (as in you paid $99) there should be no issue with the update, just plug in to zune and that should be it.
if it's a chevron unlock, as long as you have the ability to deploy the provxml's from your phone you should be able to retain your unlock.
i'm going to guess that the process will be very similar to the way it is done with with getting the leaked RTM running and retaining an unlock.
The provxml method doesn't working
Did someone got unlocked Focus with chevron unlock on mango?

I think you got it wrong.
Once in NoDo or later, no unlocking is possible.
To get unlocked you have to be in pre-NoDo state, more exactly 7004 or 7008.
There, you can unlock with Chevron, update to NoDo.
Then, apply provxml and update to Mango. You apply provxml to keep the unlock, not to unlock...
Yesterday I tried to save unlock with provxml method on Mango.. But it's failed(
So I restored to 7008, then unlocked my phone.. and got NODO update.
Now I have Chevron unlocked NODO (7392)
I think when I'll try to update on Mango, unlock will remain...
Hope for your help
and as I remember, Chevron works on 7392, or not?
Read this thread, it contains all you need.
Wow, it's working!
Thanks you, and XDA forum)

Hi,
If you have updated your Windows Phone to the 7090 NoDo ROM, you need to downgrade your ROM to Pre-NoDo via Zune (restore) to be able to unlock your phone with ChevronUnlocker.
But if you have updated to 7092 (after NoDo), if you restore your phone Zune downgrades your ROM to NoDo 7090 and doesn't allow you to downgrade to previous versions. So in this case you can't unlock on NoDo.
There is a solution to downgrade to 7004 rom, but it's for the advanced users. Doing this can brick your phone and avoid your warranty.
So, for advanced users who want to downgrade to be able to chevron unlock their Windows Phone, you need to download the initial ROM for your device (be careful to download the correct one if it's a branded device).
These ROMs can be downloaded in this forum (threads from "ansar", different threads for each device).
After flashing this ROM, you are on the 7004 ROM.
You lose all your personal data that is not synced with your Windows Live account.
Then, unlock the phone, and apply the xap that keep the phone unlocked (to not relock automatically).
Finally you can update your phone to NoDo and after NoDo (7092) with Zune.
EDIT : I've posted in the wrong section, I will be happy if a moderator moves the thread to the "Windows Phone 7 Development and Hacking" section.
Hi,
I try to downgrade from Mango to Nodo but I have a problem:
When running restore.bat the batch file keeps saying that I dont have zune 4.8 installed ... but I did .... I de-installed and re-installed again ... but no luck ...
Suggestions ?
btw I used:
http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/get_the_mango_update_now._without_being_a_developer.-06-30-11
I think I have the same problem. I have a US Verizon HTC Trophy updated now to Mango 7720 and I'm looking to restore it back to NoDo.
I used the method posted on windowsphonehacker (How to get Mango Beta 2 for non-developers) to update my phone 7712.
It made a backup for me which is in my C drive folder.
Then I recently updated my phone from 7712 to 7720 with the Mango RTM flash that was just released.
So I wanted to see if I could restore back to Nodo and I'm running into problems.
With Zune 4.8 installed, I ran the restore.bat file from the windowsphonehacker post and it said that the version of the windows phone update tool did not match Zune. So I unintalled Zune 4.8, re installed the original Zune 4.7 and ran the restore.bat again. This time, it runs but says "No restore point found."
Anyone have any ideas? If not, is there a stable Verizon US Nodo ROM I can flash to my phone?
Thanks.
Step away from the phone...
I have a similar problem. I successfully updated my Trophy to the first Mango beta, but I'm having a slew of issues getting it up to the latest (final?) Mango release. I can't seem to restore back to anything below 7401... and I'm afraid I won't get the official release in September. I'm generally down a rabbit hole and would just prefer to flash and get back to 7932 as if none of this ever happened.
Any advice for a noob would be appreciated.
thx
Hi, must turn off ur phone n switch to 3 colour page
downgrade problem
Yeah, I did that. It wouldn't flash the phone correctly.... maybe I had the wrong ROM. If anyone can point me to the Verizon Trophy 7392 US ROM I would appreciate it.

My understanding is that you will not be able to accomplish your task. The multi-color screen on the Verizon Trophy does not allow loading of ROMs since it cannot be unlock. Unless I am misunderstanding this. Shouldn't you be able to restore to a previous point in the Zune software?
I've been trying to get a Chevron unlock on 7004 for quite a while now, and so far null success Closing Skype, etc. didn't work, and I do have the registry value added. Flight Mode didn't work either, and I'm on older Zune software.
Now, I read that Chevron only works on certain ROMs with Omnia 7 but I'm not sure what I should flash exactly. So, what exactly should I flash to get that Chevron unlock going?
P.S: I'm on Windows XP, maybe that's part of the problem?

Hi,
I have an HTC Trophy that's been updated to Mango (through Zune...) and I have been trying for ages to Unlock it. From what I understood I have to roll back to a NODO (or 7004 version), and then either unlock or install HSPL + custom ROM - But I cant figure out how to roll back - when I try to roll back to NODO I get an error.
And by the way I cannot restore the phone from my computer because I have a new computer, and I cant figure out how to restore from the phone (it doesnt show up under update)
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
-Gabi-

What is your current bootloader version? What error do you get? What nodo ROM do you use to flash? What is your current firmware version?
If you have bootloader 5.** there is no way of flashing an older ROM, you'll have to wait for a compatible RSPL/HSPL.
The last three numbers in your firmware version(for example 401 is a EU unbranded ROM, 172 is for Vodafone NL branded) should be the same as the first pare of three in your ROM description.
Step-by-step:
1. flash a nodo ROM
2. install RSPL, and optional HSPL
3. flash custom ROM
Also try entering the bootloader before you connect your phone to your pc.
Don't know if you have been monitoring this thread or not, but ChevronLabs was just realeased and for 9 dollars you can get the developer unlock found here: http://labs.chevronwp7.com/
as for completely unlocking it (Interop unlock) you have to follow these steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963
but be very careful, I did it with my HTC trophy and now I am stuck without 3G connectivity and have been trying for hours to restore it
Hello!
Please help me unlock my phone...
I have an omnia 7 updated to tango and then I had the student dev unlock but I need to interop-unlock.
If I rollback to Mango using the Zune backup I think I would have to redo the dev unlock and then I should follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963
Is this right?
After the interop-unlock can I restore the backup to tango (to the current state) and still remain unlocked or do I have to upgrade manually?
