have you tried it with some older prepaid SIM?

Hmmm. That is strange. Normally the Windows is stored on the ROM, taht can not be erased. But if you say, there isn´t something on it, Only possibility is to flash via SD-Card....

Hello All,
I am new to Android. I am getting my Aira tomorrow, my first Android phone. I use to have HTC TyTn before. I have flashed many ROMs on that.
Can someone guide what should I do first after getting my phone? Means complete factory settings backup using which software? Which other modifications I can make? What will void warranty and what will not?
Is there any guide?
I am trying to read other threads.
Thanks,
Alex
PS: Can anyone tell me how can I activate it without SIM card and / or without data plan?
If you have had experience with a HTC TyTn, then you know that searching XDA Developers will be your best bet to getting your questions answered.
All of your questions have been discussed numerous times in the forum, so you should be able to find all the info you need. To start your customization venture, you will need to root your Aria, which is a very simple process using Unrevoked 3.

If you have access to a WiFi hotspot, you should be able to sign into Google Market without a SIM card using a wifi connection.

HELP!!!!!! Soft Brick. .......I think.

So I'm getting REALLY good at learning... How boot to roota phone. Unfortunately, this time is more serious. I used CF's autoroot. Odin confirmed success. But SuperSU claims that I don't have root. I am operating on limited data. Please, email first, then we can arrange phone call. I don't know how often I'll be able to check here, but I know that it'll be quickest and easiest (for me). Please any Senior Admin intimately familiar with CF, soft bricks, and SGS4. [email protected] 503-443-6862 pst.
You are not soft bricked at all. You're just saying Super user says you have no root access. Seems like you don't have the latest CF auto root for NAE. I would highly recommend that you remove your phone number.

Yeah try upgrading ctf auto root. Your tar my be outdated.
I believe that I am. When I plug in, white battery shows but doesn't appear to be charging. Also when turned on, white Samsung s4 shows, but don't actually boot. Bootloader functions but there are no files to unzip. I'm really in Oct my head, broke, and desperate. I know that it'll be a simple fix, but I'm going to need someone to talk me through it. I just don't know enough. Neither Samsung not sprint will help, thigh both have told me they support root.

Do you know what android version your phone was on? 4.2.2 4.3 or 4.4.2? I would say if you have access to a computer and internet to download the NAE tar that is in the development section by random45 and Odin it. The instructions are in the thread. Of course you have to be able to access download mode on your phone.

Download mode works. I took the OTA update, but it was out of the box with 4.4.2 kitkat. Odin 3.09. Cf autoroot. I did everything right. Im lost... I also did my tab 3, but root checker says not properly rooted. Any way you can pm my your number and I can talk to you in the morning? Please.

The broken english and limited data led me to think it was from a foreign country.
If and only if you have the Sprint S4, go to the thread already mentioned here and download the NAE .tar. Here's the link again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663619
Verify the MD5 sum, put your phone in download mode, and use ODIN to flash it. That is the only way your problem will be solved. I don't know what you mean exactly by limited data, but if you need to, you can download it in a library or something. It's a large file.
Ok. So first off Texas born and bred. Graduated at 14 years old. No broken grammar. I only have 1g available on my plan for the tablet. Unlimited on the phone. It is unevoquivically SPH-L720T.
FINALLY problem solved. Back to Samsung today. New tech. Apparently class 6 SD during root was the problem. Fixed free in Best Buy, by Samsung tech.
Now let's try this root again. If first you don't succeed. ...... lol.

Root with the LATEST version of CF-Autoroot from Chainfire's site; linked in the OP. That's should be this one
Then install any recovery you with. Either with GooManager or via PC Odin.
For recovery I'd recommend Philz philz_touch_6.08.9-jfltespr (You can use others but that has, for me proven the most reliable on 4.4 and most of the 4.3 builds). Builds are here
Hint if you install goomanager and flash a custom recovery you can then use that recovery to flash other recovery zips - either Philz, TWRP or CWM
And Tigard, I'm guessing your somewhere by the 99 and 217.
EDIT!!
You have the T version so don't do anything I said for the regular 720!!

Glad you were able to solve it. Sorry I would have sent you my number to make it easier to communicate but I had a final today for my most important class this quarter so I was focused on that.

I am going to caution you here, since you have the L720T. I think we all assumed that you were talking about the original L720. Do not use those NAE ROM threads that we linked you to, and whatever root method you use, make sure it works on the L720T. For future questions, make sure you specify what phone you have. This is primarily a forum for the older L720 model phone, not the tri-band phone that you have.
Actually, I had already tried those files several times Prior to you suggesting them. I'm just still shocked, and disbelieving that too low a class SD card caused the problem. Feedback?

I for one don't believe the card was the problem.
With no SD card at all, the phone should've booted no problem.
When I got my phone it didn't have a card in it - I did order a class10 at the same time but it didn't arrive as fast as my phone. I put in an older 8gb class 6 without issue.
Sh*ty sd card and it should boot just access it slowly, unless you did something to move system files to your external SD card before it failed.
Now I do know cards of any type and class can fail - and DO. But the fact that the card is bad shouldn't matter to booting - all that is off the internal storage.
Did they 'sell' you a new card or just give you another?
Seems all weird to me but who knows. Just glad you got it.

Actually, neither. I had bought my own. Mine also came without. I used the older 8G, until i could afford the class 10 16G. But that is what he said. I've had few problems since then, though haven't taken time to try another root yet.

Does anyone answer these things?

I just bought a 820u and was wondering if rooting Marshmallow with the expanded storage activated will be harmful to my phone..
I have asked valid questions in these forums and no one answers me.. is it just me??
If you tend to root in MM theoretically this should not make your adopted storage "harm" your phone. Only if you have mis-handled it will result in that. Maybe you can have a better answer by asking in the Super SU forum.

You said you were on MM to get external storage as adopted but now you say you are on KK? I dont understand this time.
when i first posted my phone was in the mail and i was hoping for an ota mm but that didn't happen so i am stuck on kit kat.. but i finally got a recovery TWRP installed with a little hassle.. now i don't know what to do with it because it isn't allowing me to mount my sdcard so i can flash a ROM and my 4G still isn't working.. i just got ahead of myself with the first post.. sorry
Did you try reformatting the SD card as exFAT or FAT32 on PC and put it back into the phone? Does it work?
