GT-I9100LKADBT
I9100XWKI4/I9100DBTKH1/I9100XXKI1/I9100XWKI4
Modified: 17-9-2011 11:56:28
android 2.3.4
I just upgraded to something similar as yours
PDA: I9100XWKI4
Phone: I9100XXKI1
CSC: I9100OXFKE1
Build info Sep 14
andriod 2.3.4
Battery life is sick, phone still 100% over night compared to 6-8 percent drop from before.
Looks like Samsung have finally fixed the andriod os bug...it has good battery like my galaxy tab 10.1!!

I will post it once it is 8-10 hrs used...right now only 6 hours...I couldn't sleep much last night lol
edit: argh I just jinxed it, it is now 99% at 7 hours. Will post once I reach 8 hours.
Alright so 8 hours at 98%. I did use the phone a bit while waiting, the display suppose to be 3rd place, after phone idle, normally. Anyways, that is a lot better than 94-92% from before.
My friend who is on same firmware, said that he used music for a hour and web browse for 30 minutes, only used 5%.
Looks promising, thx!

Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache after flash?
could you give an update on your battery stats ?
im not root
stock firmware updated via KIES
no extra wipe
Battery is ok 1d 1h 2m 36s by normal use still 36% left
But Battery Temp seems for me to be higher than in 2.3.3
34°C in 2.3.4 even in idle
my battery temp is 25°C idle, AndroidOS is still present, first charge since the update and my phone lost 7% in 4 hours using it for like 10 minutes.
Not sure if I'll stick with the stock kernel, despite that no major improvements so far, at least none that are worth mentioning (yes, video chat is an option now ...)
Hey,
Can anyone post his build.prop of XWKI4 - DBT
Problem is that my market only shows half of the apps.
I tried clearing cache and data, didn't help. Now I've read about a htc desire user who fixed the market by turning his build.prop to original state (I've modified mine too) - so I wanna give this a try.
Edit: ok i extracted the file myself, but didn't help to fix the problem
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Somehow this new firmware feels a lot choppier than the last one, for example when moving between desktops.
I wiped /cache and dalvik-cache, didn't help. I really don't want to wipe the data partition.
Can anyone confirm this?
Edit: wiped, still staggering.

Happy new Year to everybody!!!
I'm having a strange battery drain issue with my phone...
Since I flash Darky's v7.6 I start having this problem-maximum 14 hours battery life without playing or using heavy apps
Before I get 26-30 hours in the same use
I flash 7.7 (both wipe and no-wipe) but problem stays.
Factory reset for sure 6 times until now.
Change kernel to Speedmode but the same
Battery calibration been done more than 10 times without result.
I flash v7.0 now and still having the same isue!!!
It's very annoying
Can anyone help me please?
Its the firmware JPY. Wait for a fix, go back older firmware or turn off wifi.

So you mean JPY is a battery killer?
Happy New Year!
I've had JPU, JPX and now JPY. Somewhere in between I had XWJPH which is the official 2.2 for my device (HKDCOS). The 2.2.1 firmwares have almost the same battery life as the official 2.2 while being much much faster. They all have more bat drain than my eclairs (JM2, JM9) but not dramaticaly. I can make 40-48 hours on 2.2.1 normal use, and I did 48-60 hours on eclair. I think it has to do with what apps you use. Do you have battery stats?
Ρε ΠΑΟΚτσάκι άρρωστο από την Κρήτη,εσύ είσαι;
O.K. let's see...
Last night I let it charge untill the "100% charged notification" sounds.
Unplug charger, wait 30-40secs and plug it again. In order to be sure for maximum charge depentless battery icon.
I forgot to deactivate wi-fi(although I think energy consumption is the same) and 10hours later battery icon shows 93%.
Battery stats was almost zero,exept Wi-Fi On(99.9%) and Wi-Fi Running(99.9%)
I thought "desent amount of energy consumption" and then I only used the browser for 15'-20' and battery icon dropted from 93% to 88%!!!
2 days ago,I installed autokiller in order to switch off background apps-just in case that any of my installed apps consumes energy. No result at all....
[email protected] I'm running over JPY for over 2 weeks and had completly no prob at all-just as tsinc sais,I manage to get more than 24H in normal usage
Problem started since 7.6 Darky's been flashed
Then,I flashed 7.7 no-wipe,7.7 wipe,7.0,7.5 and still no problem solved...
And I get tired from continuesly tries of re-customize of my Galaxy
Samsung have changed the WiFi driver for the 2.2.1 Firmwares. As I was on the JPY I had this huge battery drain too. So I decide to take WiFi driver from JPA. They work but I have first to test if this really give me less power drain.

I'm not using Wifi cause I have an "unlimited" (=3GB) data plan. Wifi drains a lot on 2.2.1. I think "hardcore" or somebody started a thread about it.
I'm also tired of flashing and resetting.... Any news about 2.3 ?
I did flash the jpa wifi drivers dosnt seem to affect drqin too much...

I`m using Darky`s 7.5 and the phone has been unppluged 51 hours ago and i still have 38% of battery, although the battery i got with the new SGS i recieved from orange is way better than my other SGS, it last for 4 days with modderate usage, and it should get better as it is new and it has to get a few charging cicles to increase battery life a little bit more. The usage is the same as it was on my other SGS, music, movies, internet, mail, messenger, calls etc.
I`m using Darky`s 7.5 and the phone has been unppluged 51 hours ago and i still have 38% of battery,
Much the same for me on that version but later versions enormousness battery drain . Different rom battery drain about normal .All JPY .
jje
I have it too on JPY now. Strange thing is that everything was good for like a week after flashing, but then suddenly battary started to loose charge like a madman. Dunno, may be it's a Skype that i have installed recently, but i dont launch it and the drain is still there.
I've been looking at youre battery stats and it said its been 26 hours since last unplugged I still have 20% battery left, it also says the the phone wasnt sleeping fot 11 hours out of the 26. What could cause this?(the screen was one for like 1/2 tops

Hey guys, I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S2 (over 2 months ago)
At first it was really good with battery life, lasting over a day with medium use.
It started to get really bad, draining down from 100% to 50~ over night with no use at all.
I searched the problem and came across these forums, which said 2.3.3 was a problem sometimes.
Now this is also my first android phone, so I'm not sure exactly how to do all the tinkering around with it. Long story short, I found that changing to 2.3.4 helped a lot. It did, for 2 days, now I'm getting the same problem again. Maybe I didn't do it right? Need help! (also this forum is huge, not sure if I'm in the right spot)
Have you tried flashing a custom ROM and kernel? Pick out a ROM that you like and then install a nice kernel like Speedmod. Lite'Ning ROM v6.1 and Speedmod T39 together really increased my battery life.
Is there like a "how to" section on this site somewhere?
As I said, this is my first Android phone, so I'm a little lost as to how it all works

Thanks for the help guys.
I "think" I rooted my phone and got a version of 2.3.5, which is also supposed to be better on the battery?

Or also get titanium backup, and freeze all the useless crap on the phone that you dont use. I did that and it went from 7% every hour (despite the fact that there were no wakelocks) down to 0.5% every hour
EDIT- on standby/very little use, that is.
Also after you flash charge your battery to 100percent and calibrate your battery there is a good free app in the market

Well if you're using its smart phone capabilities it will really drain quickly. Specially when on data. What I did was to get an extra variety and an external battery charger-best investment for this phone ever.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
You can also see what drained your battery by going into battery usage: Menu - settings - about phone - battery usage. or create the shortcut on your desktop.
download betterbatterystats to check what processes are burning your battery and stuff. helped me a lot, this app.
Given that you are getting decent performance for a bit, which then drops off, I'd say it was far less likely that the cause was the hardware or the ROM and far more likely that it is something you are doing with the configuration or software.
Try removing any widgets you have added - does that improve battery life? If so, add them back one at a time until you find the culprit. Also, make sure you are not signed into stuff like Latitude - that is an absolute battery killer.
You have seen that you can get decent life from the battery, now you just need to work out what affects that.
It was the 2.3.4 OS draining the battery. I wouldn't touch my phone, and in 8 hours it went from 100% to 20%, with the status saying Android OS 100% in battery usage.
Now I'm on 2.3.5, battery is at 95% after 4 hours.
I'll give it a few days, and see exactly how it goes and if there is a substantial difference in battery life in relation to use.
I almost had the same problem with the battery but i flashed omega rom and so far i have no problems! I always have wifi on when i am at home and 3g when i am not at home and the phone can run up to 2 days!
Have you tried doing a basic search and looking at one of the 100's of other threads crapping on about battery life?
<deleted> sorry
galaxy s2 i9100 Battery Problem!
I am using Samsung Galaxy s2 for a while and I am facing an extremely low Battery Back up. Around 9-10 hrs to the max. I got the battery changed from the Samsung service center and have tried changing alot of different firmwares.
KE4 -> KE7 -> KF3 -> KH3 -> KI3 -> Simple and clean 1.2 KI4.
Nothing works.
I am attaching my "Battery Usage" images along. Please find a solution for me. Thank you.
Calibrate your battery, but you must have root access. When you have root than load the calibrate app.
i am quite heavy users on my sgs2 at first i had battery problem lasting only 5 - 7 hours... i got juice defenders free version from market and well it didnt boost my battery life to 48+ but it did made me last 1 and half day
New battery stats!!
Alright I experimented with the battery to check whether there is a problem with my battery or my firmware/kernel.
I tried the same battery on 2 different Galaxy s2. Battery stats below :
DEVICE 1:
Firmware : Stock KF3 Rooted
Kernel : Stock KF3
Battery Usage : 14hrs
Display : 45mins
Voice Calls : 1hr50mins
Battery remaining: 50%
DEVICE 2:
Firmware : Simple & Clean v1.2
Kernel : SpeedMod k2-18 test3
Battery Usage : 12hrs
Display : 45mins
Voice Calls : 2hrs
Battery remaining: 19%
Now in the above case I have used the same 1650maH battery in 2 different handsets. So why so much difference in battery life on an almost similar usage when I also made sure that the Brightness levels of both the phones also remain same.
Please help me out on this.
Hey guys i want to switch to stock rom ..! so just want to ask which stock rom will give me good battery life or any stock rom+ custom kernel combination will give me a good battery life ..
Thnx
I'm getting great results on OMKJ4. Much better than anything else I've used on the S2. If I push my luck I can get 2 days plus the night between (not 2 full days though but I suspect the 2000mah battery would let me if I could actually lay my hands on one).
(There are a lot of issues though in flashing OM builds on anything but an SC-02C)

Well best battery life depends on how you are using the phone. Display On time should be the figure to find out which one is performing best.
I am on KI8 atm, Display On time is very good, around 5.5 h, but it drains battery a lot compare to old KF3, overnight drain was 2/3% on KF3, but now it is 10+%! Now I'll use it for another day and see if it drains the same again then I'll be moving to KI3, which I previously used and loved.
Maybe only me but I've had good luck with the ROMs which end up with 3

20 hours isn't bad. Bear in mind this is a smart phone with big screen & cloud (almost continuos internet connection). Wifi is about 30-50 min, 5-12 sms, 30-40 min of calls (via BT headset), 4 emails (updates with push or fetch in 30 min interval), RSS,weather (every 3 hours). Market, Samsung apps browsing - 40-50 min. GTalk 24/7 ,eBay - 15-20 min.Twitter every 30 min, FB-every 4 hours (not a big fan of it ). Games up to 2 hours. Few widgets (weather, email, clock, calendar). I am on Vodafone now, and almost always on H+, so that also affects battery life. Some say that on 2G network you get better battery life, but my experience is opposite.
And ROM yes, full stock ( I mean no custom kernels etc).
Ki8...54 hours...medium user.

I've done a little research and there is a bug in the 4.0.3 AOSP release. You can see a link to this issue here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=22878#makechanges
Attached is a screenshot of the problem ocuring in ICS Passion 13.1
I am curious is anyone NOT having this issue?
Yeah, mine started couple of days ago with the same problem. Android System shows 75% battery usage.
I wonder if there is a fix for this bug. I read whatever is on the link but there is all king of possible solutions.
I'm on MIUI and this is happening quite a bit too
Yeah, My battery will be 80% I reboot and it 10% or it's10% and I reboot then it's 80%...lol
I think, 84% is the culprit. Read my post here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23766036&postcount=2223

I used to have that issue on CM7 many moons ago. Did a bunch of searches and someone mentioned a process call GOOGLEBACKUPTRANSPORT.APK somewhere on XDA, that constantly runs even after you do not choose to backup to google (at least thats what I think its for).
I used root explorer to go into /system/apps and delete the GOOGLEBACKUPTRANSPORT.APK. I have never had any negative effect from doing it. It fixed the Android OS sucking up battery problem. Now I make it a point to delete it after flashing a rom regardless of whether batter drain is there or not. Never had that issue since.
Try it and see what happens. You can always just move it or rename it so you can put it back if it does not solve your problem.

Post to the Google Code bug
Just wondering if there have been any discoveries or new info on this problem.
I was experiencing this bug for a long time and I thought it was a bad battery. After replacing my battery it was still happening.
Battery life is the sole reason I went from ICS Passion (4.0.3) to Slim ICS (4.0.4).
I think battery life is better now, but I've also been incrementally restoring all my apps, ensuring battery drain isn't unreasonably affected with each restore.
I have this same issue! My battery lasted up to a day yesterday and today I had to charge my phone twice. Lasted only 4 hours. Pretty ridiculous I would say! I did try removing googletransport.apk and it reduced my android os to 25% or so from 60% that's about it.

Wow, this worked beautifully, thanks a mil illego.
Installed ICS Passion v13.1 a few days ago and had severe battery drainage, from 100% to 0% in 8 hours after calibration.
Looking at the battery stats I realized that the phone was always in AWAKE mode, with ANDROID SYSTEM sapping like 80%.
After renaming GOOGLEBACKUPTRANSPORT.APK the phone finally went into much needed sleep mode.
In hindsight, I enabled Google "Backup this Phone" during first ICS setup, and this must've tried to connect to the internet the whole time or had a process keeping the phone awake.
Brilliant fix, you made my day, thx.
I was using ICSSGS's 4.0.3 and noticing that my battery was draining pretty quick with little or no use.
I decided to try the Dark Knight 4.0.4 rom and my battery life has pretty much doubled.
No lock screen issues now either!
SlimICS!
I have been using SlimICS and have never had any batt drain issues. Googlebackup.apk is removed by default from this ROM.
I never get good battery life on a ics rom, tried on 3 different phones with 6 different roms. It looks nice but isn't battery friendly from my experience.

You must have one or more apps draining your battery.
User betterbatteryStats or "BadAss battery monitor" to check where battery is being used and whether any app is keeping the phone awake.
I agree
I have to agree. When I use a Froyo Rom my phone loses .5% per hour in idle. At times it loses a max of 1% per hour. However, with ICS ROMs I lose around 1.7% per hour. I have tried just about all ICS Roms, and all Kernels. While some are better than others, 1.7% per hour is pretty standard with any ICS. Trust me, I have no deep sleep issues, and no abnormal wakelocks. I've read all the post of saving battery life, and done them all. Roughly 1.7% per hour is what I get with any ICS Rom.
Personally, I like the look and feel of ICS so I just take the good with the bad. Can anyone shed some light on this. Why does ICS drain battery so quickly in idle vs older android versions. Or, is it just the Vibrant? Im stumped.
Hello everyone I wanted to inform you that the N7100XXDMB2 OFFICIAL Update for DBT Unlocked Germany and other countries was released an hour ago (5:30 AM here in Spain).
I know it's nothing new, but here it is!
Regards,
Kent.
AW: [Firmware] DBT update, N7100XXDMB2 2/21/13
Did receive an OTA update today, but MA5 and LK7. Can't find something new. Maybe a batterylife fix.

still nothing for UK BTU although it sounds like it's getting closer, hopefully, maybe, possibly
this is the first android phone that i've owned where i don't feel it necessary to root it and play around with new roms seeking improvement, however this long delay for release of UK BTU is stretching my patience, especially with the ever present threat of sds
*big sigh*

You know you can flash MB2 without losing warranty right?
Not only is it suitable for your N7100 and recommended but also it contains the BTU csc code. Win win win.
I do Victor thank you, I keep telling myself to hold on for another day .... even though I keep looking at odin on my laptop

Congratulations on the new firmware update and the deceased battery life

So far battery has been on par with the last update, which means there is still a drain. One thing I have noticed into do a few battery pulls or restarts every time you update so I did my second and it was funny, my battery life pre restart was 95 and post start up was 97. Right now it's at 96. So I'll give it a few days before I report back on battery life. But performance wise is just great. Same as before. Snappy and good.

Oh! ok.. i thought my battery was going crazy coz my note2 showed battery at 77% pre & 79% post restart . I'm on latest stock XXDMB2 (India) rom.
Another funny thing i have discovered is that if i charge the phone for a prolonged duration (i.e continue charging for about an hour after the battery is 100%) then the battery life improves significantly. It gives me as good battery backup as it was on 4.1.1. Charged it full 1 day 17 hrs back and with very light use 78% battery still remaining :victory:. With same settings and similar use it would otherwise be less than 68% remaining. Checked this twice and found the battery backup to be good if i charge it for some time beyond 100% charge. See screenshots below.

I gave up waiting Victor and flashed rom this morning
I'm happier knowing I'm safe, rather that than worry about small loss of battery life ... I'm never that far away from a charger and plug socket anyway

What's the difference between this rom and the other rom from asia? N7100XXDMB4
Is DMB4 newer than DMB2?
Thanks
O2 UK just updated my N7100 to Android Version 4.1.2 Build DMB2. Last night I pressed "Check for updates" and was queued. This morning I turned on WiFi and got it. To early for feedback but I attach some screen shots. Took about 1/2 hour.

My Note II to you
This update is far more superior than 4.1.1,
On 4.1.1 I managed to get 5-6 hours screen time. 4.1.2 is brilliant, butter smooth, everything works, everything cool!

R: [Firmware] DBT update, N7100XXDMB2 2/21/13
I cannot install apk files manually because the install command is not active!
What is the reason?
Thanks

This update has ruined my battery life. It's draining much much faster than before.

I'm in UK with a BTU handset and a new OTA update is now available...
Reasons to update
Good reason to update your Galaxy Note II from Android 4.1.2 : Galaxy Note II vulnerability lets attackers (briefly) access home screen apps (video)

By the way after 24 hours I would say battery life is as good as is copy paste - if not slightly better.
Cheers
Tom
Just got this (DMB2, was on DLL4)) on Vodafone UK. Too early to have seen any differences yet though!
