Anyone else notice the market is now like froyos?

Nope, mine's the same as it ever was.

yup mine's different. It's even got the market widget, which I have no idea what its for

I have read about it changing but hasn't happened for me yet.

Open up sdx system remover and backup marketupdater.apk and googleapps.apk and vending.apk, search for that file on you sdcard and upload it for us less fortunate people.

i suddenly noticed it today

Just as I posted, I noticed my screen came on. So I went to unlock my phone to see wtf was up and a notification box came up. I was dragging the unlock button simultaneously as this happened, and it disappeared. I really, really want to know what it said. I feel lucky for an update of some sort.

So what exactly does this look/do? I wanna see if mine updated or not lol

I guess the best part is an 'update all' button. though I didn't think that the froyo market worked on 2.1 but maybe i'm wrong..

If you think about it, none of the froyo market features really required the jit compiler or c2dm that froyo has so it should work on 2.1 easily

Just don't get confused by the filename. remove the '.zip' from the end, then install like a normal apk.

[Typo] Samsung can't spell lol

Download any picture from the internet, then open the image with the regular Gallery. Before it gets done loading, try and hit the share button. It'll then tell you "image loding," instead of loading. I lol'd when I saw this.

Actually Samsung is known for doing that often....the misspellings all over...

Assuming you're on Windows.
Open your file manager to the SDK path:
C:\path\to\Android\android-sdk-windows\tools\ (Image)
Double click on ddms.bat (ddms = Dalvik Debug Monitor Service)
Note: just minimize the command prompt that appears, it will go away when you close ddms.
Enable USB debugging on the phone and connect to the PC
Select your device within the list (Image)
Select Device > Screen Capture (Image)
From there you can take a screenshot by pressing the Save button.
Note: you have to press the Refresh button with each screen transition. It is not a live screen cast of your phone.
If you have issues, then make sure you declare the JDK bin path in system environment variables under "PATH". If device shows as "offline" in ddms, then try another USB port.

My glitch for today

So this is what happened. Apparently, the lockscreen was in "landscape" mode, while the phone was in portrait. Made a video with an instinct s30 looks horrible but im gonna put it on youtube anyway. Post it in a sec.

Umm, I don't think you quite get it, this is what it should look like, when we have a unread text and the keyboard is *not* open.
Basically, it didn't switch from landscape mode to portrait correctly

I would have to guess it has to do with the rotation lag that has been fixed in EE03/EE19. There only seemed to be a workaround in Froyo.

I've never had any rotation lag lol. In fact, my gps has always worked flawlessly, and my keyboard almost never skips, and I type pretty fast

I'd say the bigger issue is if GPS still loses signal after 20-30 mins. Planning to test this out soon.

I haven't had time to go for a drive yet, to see if it can hold a lock with only 3 sats. I'm hoping gpstatus is misreporting.

Do you know how disappointing it is when the Epic has the new Market on froyo and the EVO 3D doesn't have it yet...

Try that workaround. It involves a hacked/modified Google Videos app that disables the root check. I don't know if it works personally because I only use Netflix mobile.
Edit: Before anyone asks, that hack just gives rooted users access to the movies they legitimately paid for. IT WILL NOT MAGICALLY ALLOW YOU TO WATCH MOVIES FOR FREE.

When trying to Odin, the phone shuts off when it gets to the cache.rfs...or the screen turns white and it just sits there.

a lot of the time people seem to freeze here on the stock cable that came with the Epic, try using a better usb cord and start over

And after about the 25th try, it finally went. Flashed CWM 3.1.0.1 back on there and am now restoring all my data. Will let you know how it goes when it finishes.

uninstall and reinstall happens on a pc too. browser, youtube desktop app, etc.
ive never refered to hard reseting my phone as formating. when i say reformat, im usually refering to a spinning harddrive.
like i said, just an assumtion. im prolly wrong.
