Has anyone successfully rooted and installed a custom rom on the Panache without any issues?
I've heard that permanent bricks are common with this phone cause it has a bad eMMC.
Get ye to this thread:

Many Panaches have been reported to have the bad eMMC, but nobody with a Panache has yet reported a total brick. It's only a matter of time though

I'm still stuck at the HTC Boot screen - did several wipes and deleted all the data. I have no idea how to get this working and it's like the easiest method ever.
Best wipe of all time
"Fastboot erase system -w"
In bootloader as fastboot connected to adb. Try that. Also release thirteen didnt work for me off bat.

Flash happy users always have issues like this.. Did you ever fix YOUR mistake? Post when you do because I'm sure there is a bunch of flash happy people out there that will have the same problem. My install of Cyanogenmod worked flawlessly, then again I didn't flash any sense roms.. Good luck

I did flash sense and then went back to stock and now i on cyanogen love it Sorry for u my friend
ok, what was the solution arcadia, it is never suggested to make a thread stating a problem and then say "nvm i fixed it" without stating the solution

I know this question may seem combative but it really isn't meant that way, I'm just curious what it means:
What distinguishes a flash happy user from another user who has flashed their phone?
Is there something that certain users are doing as opposed to other users? Is it that they flash from one rom to the other without reverting back to stock?
i personally flash roms constantly, i have tried all the roms we have posted and i wipe between them and never have a problem. not sure why some have problems and some don't, but then again i am NEVER the first to flash something, i always make surei see a few posts that state it works, and i look at known bugs

Hello,
I have a MT4G, s-OFF, running eViL 4G-HD v.0.3.3 ROM with the Sense Kernel 1.0.
I am having very poor data connectivity issues. My 3G will only send out data (upstream) but no down stream. This will go on for 5-10 mins sometimes and then 4G will kick in and everything works fine for a few minutes. If the phone 'tries' to hard to gain connectivity it will freeze and reboot itself. Its becoming a pain in the ass... I have done alot of research on this and people on XDA say that a Sense ROM shouldn't have these issues, yet I am. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!
I had the same issue. All I did was revert to my latest nandroid backup.
Would be nice to find out what the issue is.

Ok I found a fix for the problem, what I did was completely wipe the phone, EVERYHTING! Flash on a new rom, sense or not, download the stock radio image from the link provided. Flash the stock radio onto you're device from H-Boot. Please follow all directions given in that thread to ensure your phones survival.
At first its a tad slow but picks up speed and data will remain constant. This worked for me and may not work for others but give it a try, hopefully this will fix any data/cell signal loss!

Where is the leaked mySense rom? And what is it? I've been away from the forums for quite some time. Trying to play catch up is taking a while.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem about a month ago. I used the pd15img to restore completely to stock, rerooted and flashed back to my rom of choice and everything worked perfect.
Hey guys.. My Shift 4G has been rooted for quite some time, and I had been running CM 7.1 RC1 most recently.. After the past several weeks, I have experimented with various ROMs and Radios.. At one point I did upgrade the radio firmware to 1.08.00.0506 and the WiMax Radio to 27240.
I had also experimented with the rooted 2.76.651.4 Sense ROM posted by x99percent.. I wasn't thrilled with Sense, and ended up going back to CM7.1 RC1.. I also downgraded the radio 1.07.00.1129 and WiMax back to 27167.
Since I was playing around with the various ROMs and Radios, my Shift will never charge above 85%.. I am familiar with clearing batterystats.bin - and had tried various measures to get the battery to charge above 85%.. I used Battery Monitor, and it showed that basically around 85%, the Shift was turning off the internal charging circuit (Current would show usually less than 100mA..)
Thinking that perhaps something was sticking around from my various experimentations, I decided to use the original RUU (RUU_Speedy_Sprint_WWE_1.17.651.1_Radio_1.07.00.1129_NV_SPCS_1.52_1103_release_160079_signed) to revert back to stock and start over.
One of the things that came up when I ran the RUU was it showed the current image version as 2.76.651.4.. This was even though my radio was 1.07.00.1129. Does anyone know why that would be reported that way?
I'm currently on the original sense RUU, and now it appears to be charging correctly. Once it does, I'll re-root and go back to CM7.1 RC1.
Thanks,
Rick

Sorry about posting to the wrong forum.. I PM'd the mod to have it moved to Evo Shift 4G General.
The thing that did not make sense to me was the fact that I had restored my Nandroid backup from CM7.1 RC1, and restored the radio with the bootloader to 1.07.00.1129. I ran the RUU against CM7.1 RC1 and radio version 1.07.00.1129.

I used the orignal RUU for Froyo -- not the Gingerbread RUU.
Oh my bad haha. I was about to say...you should be good to re-root then no? I flashed the new radio's manually just fine over cm7. Still on the same radio's and cm7 to this day

I'm trying to unroot my phone so I can send it back in for a replacement but whenever I try to flash the PD15IMG in the bootloader it says the "Main version is older" and the update fails. I used the PD15IMG from the unlockr, but I guess I guess I need an updated one? Anyone know how I can fix this?
EDIT:
I ended up figuring everything out. Here's the thread I made that explains everything.

Tmobile doesnt look to see If your phone is rooted or Not. There only interested in the physical aspect of the device.

you should have reverted back to the stock radio before flashing the stock PD15IMG...you could try flashing the newest updated RUU and then downgrade back to 2.2

I ran into the same problem as youre having when I tried to revert back to stock. flashed the stock PD15IMG in hboot, but was on an updated radio. you still have root access even tho it says s=on, but you can ONLY use the rom you were currently using when trying to go back to stock. (ex- if you were on Virtuous Unity v2.39 then you could only flash and use that rom) theres a thread that goes more into detail, heres the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092170 make sure you read the entire thread carefully
from what I understand, youll have to flash an updated RUU to fix the issue

Thanks for the link man, I should've searched before I posted. I read through the whole thing, and I'm still not sure what to do.. just a thought, but would this basically be like trying to root from the official 2.3.4 OTA?
And if there's an RUU for the GB OTA would that work in HBOOT, since it has the updated radio?
same thing happened to me, i have a glacier. (mytouch 4g) would appreciate any help. I was actually trying to restore to stock, unroot, and now i am s-on rooted

I am having a mytouch 4g now running stock rom 2.1. The phone came with S-Off. So if i download the 2.3 update, would it turn my phone back to S-on???
Also does the S-Off mean that if i want to root the phone, i would just need to flash the superuser.zip? or what???:silly:
Or Where will i continue from in case i want to root the phone. Also my device is "M4G2DE".
THANKS

Those are two pretty good guides. Honestly you have to first read, read and read some more to understand what you have and what can be done with it. Also in development there are answers to your questions under the stickys. Updating your phone would more than likely put it back to full stock status. Also why upgrade to an already 2 yr old software version.
I would recommend fully rooting your phone and the cyanogen method was easier to me. Also remember to google like crazy....

Thanks but i read a guide which said that the emmc chips in the mytouch 4g normally corrupts after wiping or factory reset. So i am a little confused. There have been many instances that people have bricked their mytouch 4g.

Why do you have two of the same thread?
Listen, here is the deal with the eMMC. Some are faulty, some aren't. If you have a crappy one, flashing CAN speed up the process of the chip giving out. If the chip does goes kaput, though, it always was. The only "bad" chips are the ones that fail. I and many others one here have a glacier with the type of chip people ignorantly refer to as "bad." I have flashed hundreds, perhaps thousands of times and it still works just fine. Understand?

confused? I am glad to see you rooted and if you used the method by CM then you are also SIM unlocked. Now stroll over to Development section and you can either flash the 2.3 stock rom or my suggestion the 4.2.2 rom by cnote74.
Your device is now freely yours!
