Hi, does any one know what I missed out when I flashed?
1- Download HD2 toolkit from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
2- Connect your device and boot into MAGLDR and choose option 5. USB Flasher.
3- On the toolkit, from top choose "MAGLDR Repartition" then from the left panel choose the rom system size you want and write in the cache size then click on "Repartition" from the down panel.
4- After it finishes, reboot your phone and choose option AD Recovery and it will work.

Thanks for your reply. I have been having problems with my SD. Do you think there's something wrong with my SD 1GB card? I partitioned it early and then it said I have only 468 mb so, I formatted it (using Panasonic SD Formatter) and now it sometimes reads and sometimes doesn't? It was working perfectly before the Partition.
Maybe, I don't know. you can remove both partitions and try it again (use EASEUS PARTITION MANAGER) . After you remove them, create an ext3 partition with a size of your choice (preferably 512 MB) using the same program and try again.

What you said worked perfectly, thank you (I would use the thank button but I am limited to 5 a day)
Do you recommend any roms? I use wifi, data, music and something that looks good and for a novice like me, easy to install.
It depends on what system/cache size you picked when you used "MAGLDR Repartition" ?

I am using this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1141448
150MB partition layout with 45MB Cache. But this can be changed I think.
I also have a 1GB SD Card.
Yes do what I said earlier with "150mb system" and "45 mb" cache.
After that put the_rom.zip on your sdcard and install it from recovery.

Yea that has been done from when you suggested about AD.
What roms do you recommend?
I recommend the following roms:
-HyperDroid 3
-NDT MIUI Development
Both require 150mb system and both are non-sense.

For Roms it depends on what you prefer.
For Sense 3.0 Roms I am personally using EnergyRom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733649
For Regular Sense Coredroid is the best in my opinion: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926507
For Regular AOSP stock Android Typhoon is an awesome choice here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951

chrisrj28 - you have given me the best of the roms available, thank you. I look for style and something which is good to look at.
I choose the Core Droid HD2 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926507
Before I do anything, can I ask when I use DAF.exe it says -
1) "An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (736)
Error Description: EnterBootloader missing
Info: .\RSPL\BootLoader.cpp (176) "
2) And in the instructions I downloaded it says " 15. Select minimum (512m) maximum (1024m). Your choice which one to use. Recommended is the 1024m, then press call button (left)."
Doe it matter what Size SD card I have?

Yes Coredroid is an awesome build and I would have stuck with it but I prefer Sense 3.0. Now as for your questions, the error with running the Daf.exe for your recovery sounds like it may not be connecting to your USB. In MAGLDR you selected the USB Flasher option right? Then when you connect to your computer it should have installed the drivers to recognize your phone.
And as for your sdcard, it does not really matter what size it is as long as you have room for whatever size Ext partition you choose. It also depends on what you plan on putting in the FAT32 option.

Why do you prefer Sense 3.0 as opposed to Coredroid? I am just curious and would help me to choose best suited to me.
Well Sense 3.0 is more appealing visually as it adds some nice 3D effects and such to Sense. But it is still not fully stable as it's Gingerbread based and there are some driver issues, but I like to have the newest on my phone, even if it's not the most Stable.
EnergyRom is good for me as I have been using EnergyRoms since my TP2 with WinMo. There are very few bugs and the ones that are there I don't really care about.
As for Coredroid, it's Froyo based and has Sense 2.1 which is fully stable, everything works like ti should but once again it's Froyo
That's just my personal preference, prior to Sense 3.0 Coredroid was my daily driver

Why isn't there any Dual Boot Development on the Forum?
It would be great to run 2 ROMs, and it would be very useful for Developers.
Because you can run a Stable ROM and at the same time a beta test ROM without
wiping you Device again and again and make any Nandroid backup..
It's already possible on the HTC Droid Eris
The best option would be to run a ROM from your SD Card, is this an option?
And how difficult, do you guys think, is it to create a Dual Boot option during startup/recovery?
Check also this project, major update coming soon!

[RECOVERY-BETA] Eris Multiboot recovery hack
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779274
This hack will boot a rom from SDCard. It expects to see system.img and data.img on the sdcard as well as init.rc.
System.img needs to be a disk image of a filesystem that the kernel can read(I've been using ext3) around 170MB(Thats the Eris's NAND size for system)
data.img needs to be a disk image of a filesystem that the kernel can read(I've been using ext3) as big as you'd like your data partition to be(This holds your apps etc, so a couple hundred megs is good)
init.rc needs to be the init.rc of your rom with two changes
You need to remove the lines where it mounts /system and /data.
Once you have those three files on your sdcard, and have flashed this recovery you're ready to try your first boot.
Reboot into recovery, you'll see the normal usual recovery menu(I'll add an item eventually)
connect to the recovery console with adb
run 'adb shell /bootfromsd'
It will APPEAR to have done nothing for a bit, this is normal. Its booting your rom now. Once it gets to the place in the rom where it would display the splash screen, you'll get a splash as usual. You can watch it with logcat if you like.
I've personally booted the following roms from SD.
KaosFroyo
KaosLegendary
CELBFroyo
MR4
PlainJane

Kendon at the VillainROM forums
i have managed to have two different android flashes on the hero, tested using VillainROM5.5.0 and SlideVillain1.1.0. it is designed to work with every rom you throw at it. it uses the /system partition for the first rom, the /data partition for the second rom, and two ext partitions for the userdata of each rom. apps2sd support is completely removed during the process, it is obvious that two roms using the same apps2sd partition would create a mess. the process is completely reversible (except for the wiping, so backup!). i have written a bash script that does the necessary steps for you, which are:
- modify the boot.imgs of the roms
- partition your sdcard
- flash the roms
- move the second rom to the /data partition
- move the two roms’ userdata to the sdcard’s ext partitions

[ROM] REAL SENSE - i00 ROM 5.2 - UPDATED 16/05/2011 - Android:2.3.3
THE FIRST "SYSTEM PARTITION" TRUE SENSE 3.0 ROM!
So what does this all mean?
System partition - this means that i00 ROM does not install any ROM component on your data partition; this has two advantages: it saves precious space on your data partition - so you can maximize the amount of apps you can have installed, and it allows you to factory reset the phone without having to re-install the ROM!

Does this mean that you can also Flash a ROM to your Data partition? This means you should only have an option in recovery to choose which ROM you want to start?!?!?!

It is possible to dual boot android phones (some at least) with two different versions of android... not sure about doing it on the DHD...
The advantages from flashing this are as stated: to save space on the data/"internal memory" for more applications, and so you can factory reset and have your phone still work without having to re-flash the ROM.

Sorry! Thanks for the explanation! Do you think you can make a Dual Boot for DHD?
Also check this out...
Kris
Also ... it isn't a user friendly process...
From what i gather:
Has only been done on the hero .. and basically involves flashing a ROM then editing another ROM to flash "purely" to the data partition...
create two update packages that each contain a mod'ed boot.img file
... one boot.img points to boot from system partition ... and one points to data partition
... then u have to flash the update file with the corresponding boot.img each time u want 2 change os'es
... only issue would be if you have, for example, sense 2.1 and sense 3.0... the /data/data/? for rosie (etc) (that holds your settings for the apk) conflict between 2.1 and 3.0... and thus would cause issues when switching between the ROMs (FC's in this case hence why you cannot upgrade to 5.0 from previous versions of my ROM).

Ok I know your Problem. Do this Exactly as I type it.
1. Go here and Download. http://www.multiupload.com/ZH0WFJBT6P
2. Go here and Download. http://hotfile.com/list/1335611/19f8a51
3. On second Link download HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_V1.6_TMOUS_NAND_ONLY_LEO1 024.rar file
4. In Toolkit Do "Task29." Then Flash MagLdr with size 190M and cache size 5M.
5. After the Flash of Magldr. Boot into MagLdr by HOLDING DOWN!!! Power Button during bootup.
6. Go to Option "5. Usb Flasher." and wait for "Wait USB...USB."
7. Once "Wait USB...USB." is confirmed. Go to the "Daf.exe" file in the COREDROID V1.6 file you downloaded before and "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR."
8. Once Finished Reboot into MagLdr AGAIN. This Time go to Option "8. AD Recovery."
9. Since you have already Partitioned SD. Then no Need to do so again.
10. Go to "Mounts and Storage" Then "Mount USB Storage"
11. Copy the Pyramid_HTC_WWE_1.35.401.1_v1.5_EU.zip to SD.
12. Once finished Hit the "BACK ARROW" Button.
13. Go down to "Flash ZIP From SDCard" then "Choose Zip from SDCard"
14. And Pick Pyramid_HTC_WWE_1.35.401.1_v1.5_EU.zip and flash.
15. Once finished, Reboot Phone, Leave it for about 20 Minutes because its First Boot. And Your Done.
16. Hit Thnx if this Helped
If you Don't like the Lag and whatever what not. Do the same steps but with MAGLDR PARTITION SIZE 400M AND CACHE 5M. And install HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_V1.6_TMOUS_NAND_ONLY_LEO1 024.rar.
And you have Rom with Best Performance and Eye Candy that is FROYO based and not GINGERBREAD.
Thanks so much well tell you after I finish
Again thanks for your help

He has the TMous version and so do I. I am currently running EU Rom on this. Its no problem for US device to run EU ron but vice versa, it is. My options for him are that if:
1. He wants best RAM free with SENSE 3.0, but glitches. Go with the PYRAMID Rom.
2. If he wants OK RAM but BEST PERFORMANCE, go with COREDROID V1.6.
Again there is no problem for US device to run EU ROM. Actually even better, cuz more free ram.

Hmmmmmm.....
Your best bet is to try a simple, basic ROM like the one in my sig.
Go for:
App2SD MAGLDR
eclipse_base_2.0.0.0.zip
eclipse_app_ext_2.0.0.0.zip
using a 225MB partition.
Read the [OP] carefully.
You might want to change your EXT2 to EXT4.
EXT2 and EXT3 are also supported, but you will get best performance when using EXT4 file system
FAT32 partition must be first and EXT partition must be second, both must be primary partitions
Instructions and tools, again, on the [OP]
You can always add extras at a later date.

Lol. when you download the file you will go into it with winrar, you should see like 4 folders. dont touch anything just move up a folder with WinRar. you will see that the file is a Zip. with the name of what you downloaded. just drag it to your SD card. and Flash.
And by the way, the first file is a Zip. the Second is one with all the Daf.exe and instructions from Sergio. After you do the Task29. And Flash Magldr with 190 Partition. You have to go into MagLdr then Option "5. USB Flasher" and wait for "USB Wait...USB" Keep in mind your Phone as to be connected to PC. Then from the Second file that you downloaded, the Tmous Coredroid 1.6 run the DAF.exe as Administrator. then proceed with copying file to SD and flashing through CWM.
You shouldnt touch the files in the Zip file, and yes it is a Zip file because I am looking at it. If you're still having trouble, redownload the file from the first link, but when given the option to "Open with:" And "Save File." Click save file and then drag to your SdCard. If you are still having trouble tell me, I will have to give Step by Step directions.

thanks alooooot guys and i appreciate it in advance.!
the first one is quite simple (i think you use winmo). download and unrar it.find the folder android and copy this folder to the root of your sd.then in phone explorer go to sd-find folder android-click clrcad then haret-you'll see something like 'starting linux'.it may take half an hour at the first loading.each time you reset you go to winmo,so in order to go to android you'll do clrcad-haret.
the second ron is a nand rom.for that you must wipe winmo.
i forgot winmo is windows mobile
im already on android running 2.3.3. with sense ..any way i can get these two roms to work through android?
please and thanks
please guys, if any of u could help ..im really tryina get at least one of these working. please and thanks
do you have mgldr in phone? i should also say that these roms aren't stable yet. their camcorder doesn't work properly and tyey have graphic glitches(whit horizontal stripes)
yeah thats what i read but i wanted to try either way
what could u suggest that has sense, and is something somewhat advance? 720p or 3d... and that new sense 3.0 lockscreen?
thanks mate!

i can say these two are the best as sense 3 roms.they record 720p but laggy and only can be watched by paid app vplayer.you can find necessary informations in their op. for sd rom you can use the one you mentioned in op.
im sorry to sound like an idiot again..
but how do i install these two? because im more familiar with the ZIP way ,where i just copy them to sd card..go to boot menu and load them
thank u again mate!
these are zip files. do you know how to make nand partition? if not download and install this tool. download the rom you choose and put to your sd. make an sd-ext partition of 1 gb in sd (if you don't have one).then ask again when you are ready.also say which rom you have chosen.

i got mgldr, i got it when i first flashed my phone from windows..
so is that mean i download the magldr version and just run it thru bootloader?
no in mgldr you dont use bootloader to flash rom.first download and install this tool to your pc http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
if you have an eu hd2 you should also have an sd-ext partition of at least 1 gb. meanwhile download mgldr version of the rom and be careful if it is eu or tmous.put it to your sd.when you complete these turn here again.

alright so i tried just loading it into bootloader, and it got stuck on the htc; quietly brilliant screen
now i got the hd2 toolkit.. what do u flash with it?
you can flash many things with it. now you'll make a nand partition. you didn't say but i think you have ah eu hd2 (512 mb). if not warn me. now connect your phone to pc. go to mgldr menu(i hope it still works) choose flasher.see usb flasher...usb.then in nand toolkit choose mgldr repartition-choose partition size 'custom'-choose cache size 5-at left bottom choose repartition.write 240 in the opening window.
after installation complete in mgldr menu choose ad recovery-install zip from sd-choose zip from sd-find your rom.zip. after installation is complete reboot.
nope i have a tmobile us hd2
i edited my former post according to tmous.follow and ask for help if you stuck.
this is what it says at the end in HD2 toolkit:
An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (736)
and before that it said.. the program cant start because RAPI.dll is missing from ur computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this program.
help???
in mgldr menu(list with 12 choices) did you go to usb flasher choice
So i just got another HD2. I want to mess with it to use as a spare phone later. But I want to install Hyperdroid which is a NAND rom i guess? Right now I have Dualboot running WP7 and Cyanogenmod 7 off SD. How do I use clockwork recovery and what not?
Just use this tutorial, it should clarify most things.
although you will have to repartition your sd card to get rid of the WP7 partition.
Also you might want to consider use a real man's rom like Dorimanx' Rom
Hyperdroid is outdated and boring, try dorimanx' rom and you will be blown away.
For an easy installation you might want to use the light rom.
I suggest following the whole CLK tutorial, making an ext4 partition on your sd-card, choose 150mb as a system partition, and then download the 3.0.6 ROM and just flash it in CWM with the following choises in the yes/no menu:
1 - no 2-way rec
2 - CLK
3 - stock anmations
4 - stock skin (if you like it how it's in hyperdroid)
5 - Revert to Light rom
6 - choose 192 DPI (again this is personal)
7 - yes for fast dormancy
8 - yes enable Boot Boost
9 - No for cron module
10 - Yes to enable Data to Ext Mod (if you made the ext4 partition on your sd-card, otherwise choose no here)
11 - yes for roboto font
12 - Yes for Hacked Market
13 - Yes for ILWI_OC_Daemon
14 - No for Odex
If i missed something or you have any questions feel free to ask
I did try several Rom's including Dorimanx' Rom. Some of them were very unstable. Dorimanx is not bad although I can only advise you one and its is Hyperdroid Rom. I have more than 50 apps installed and it is still stable, fast and battery consumption is excellent.
For installation just read the tutorials posted in the belonging Rom thread.
i also highly recommend HYPERDROID if you want a flawless, stable, and FAST rom!
REAL men want stability and dont mess with all the fancy bells and whistles i kid ... but seriously ...
cheers :-D

Why don't you build your own rom first, and then complain about other roms ?

Hi guys.
Yesterday I got a used HTC HD2. It is installed with android nand and the DFT (Dark Forces Team) rom, I think taken from the DESIRE (according to the information on the 'About').
The main problem in the device is that it has really bit memory! After installing few apps, I cant download a thing :/
So I searched for the problem and I've realized that I need to make a partition on the SD-CARD. However I saw that in the market there are apps that allow moving the application that can only sit in the internal memory to the external memory.
I then found out that the phone doesn't have root access too. (Although it came with SUPERUSER app as default).
I can't find the main thread of the rom in order to ask there how to root the device.
Which software / app, will I need recovery installed (althogh I don't think it requires) and ETC.
Please can someone direct me or just give me names of apps/softwares/guides/anything :crying:
I guess GOOGLE could be my assitstant from there.
I'm afraid to follow guides that I don't sure will work properly with my phone's software.
Thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for your kindly help.
Which Android version do you suggest to change to ?
ICS ? Or maybe GingerBread ?
And BTW I entered before to the MAGDLR menu, chosed the " AD Recovery " option and it said something like " no boot source ".
Does that mean that I don't have a recovery installed ?
And if so, will I need to install it first and then change the rom ?
Again, Thank you for your help.
Peleg.
yes you will need recovery...fast roms are mostly GB but ICS are as good as well...GB need less space on rom memory so if you don't install alot of craps as most of us do the remaining space will be fine for your data...ICS have hwa, apps work faster and games play better..I recommend ICS by tytung to be honest(very fast and stable)...when you download the recovery you will see a "flash.cfg" file...on the rom thread the developer will state the partitions needed for his rom and so you change the numbers on that file accordingly before flashing the recovery...but always make system space little bigger than needed just in case(and to avoid other problems that i will have a finger cramp if i write them down.! )

Thank you.
I will first install the recovery, but I guess I'll have to read a lot before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
Then I will search for a guide for installing recovery-
CWM will be great right ?
Thank you very much !!!
The guide you linked is very useful and makes everything clear. I strongly recommend reading it thoroughly before doing anything. Once you're slightly more comfortable with the terms, you can follow the guide in my sig to flash CWM and a ROM. You already have HSPL, a compatible Radio version and MAGLDR installed so don't worry about any of those. If you happen to come across guides which say 'task29' just ignore that step, Task29ing is completely useless.
As for recommending a ROM, it depends on your usage. Eliaskammas' post sums it up nicely, but you should note that (IMO) ICS and JB will give you worse day to day performance and stability than GB but will be better for intensive activities e.g. gaming, web browsing, using content-heavy apps etc. I've also found battery drain to be marginally more on ICS and JB ROMs.

Hi.
Thank you for your advices and technical help.
I will read it as soon as possible and then try to install the CWM Recovery and a better Rom.
According to what I saw, I think I will go on the "Energy rom" (Sense 3.5).
I will probably update my progresses here.
Thank you a lot.
BTW, a deodexed rom is needed for languages that are written from right to left ?
Or that I have to find a rom supports RTL ?
Beacuse for example, I've searched the thread of the Energy rom for "Hebrew" and found out that it doesn't supports RTL :/
Thank you.
I don't want to confuse you but I personally have always found Sense based ROMs to be slow and I think you should really stick to CM or MIUI. Anyway, that's really just my opinion.
Unfortunately, I think that you may have to find a ROM which supports RTL. I haven't looked into it but there may well be an app which somehow makes it work. If you're desperate for Android with Sense and RTL support then you could consider some of the SD ROMs from boxmax, he made good SD ROMs (at least when I used it), but I don't know which NAND ROMs will work for you.

Hi Nigeldg.
I took your advice and I think I will go on this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639932
It supports rtl and data2ext.
But do I need to change my HD2's kernel ? To Dorimanx 's kernel ?
And from the guide that you've recommended on before, do I need to start from this part:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12656427&postcount=3
And to skip the other parts ?
I've read the hole guide and it is very helpful.
Everything is really clearer.
There's no need to change the kernel after flashing, but you can if you want to. I think the dorimanx krrnel is included in that rom anyway so i don't see why you'd want to flash it again. Follow the new way method and everything should be fine. You can use the NAND toolkit to select the appropriate partition size.

Hi Nigeldg.
I now want to install the CWM (long time hh)..
In this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639932
It says to install CWM with this partition size:
" Flash the Latest CWR (Clockwork Recovery) with the appropriate partition sizes by using the "Repartition" button inside the HD2ToolKit: System: 200MB | Cache: 5MB "
In the thread of CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
Can I change the partition sizes used for CWM
A. You can by editing the flash.cfg but this is not recommended, CWM is designed to make it easier for switching roms, by flashing a custom partition size you may stop other roms working and require reflashing a new partition size when you want to change roms.
Q. I dont know which partition size to download
A. Depending on what type of roms you plan on using, you should choose the partition size based on the following.
150MB Partition - For bare roms including CyanogenMod, AOSP, and MiUI
250MB Partition - For Standard sense roms including Desire and EVo based ROMs, can also be used for some squashed HD builds
400MB Partition - For Larger roms including unsquashed Desire HD and Z roms, ROMs REQUIRE data2sd for EU HD2 with 512MB NAND
And in the thread in your sig it is possible to download 3 version of the CWM. (150, 250, 400).
How do I need to install the CWM ?
To download the 250MB version, and using the HD2ToolKit to change the partition size and install with System: 200MB | Cache: 5MB (as the rom developer suggested) ?
Thank you!
The thread you've linked to is the old CWM thread. I don't see why it says that you shouldn't change the partition sizes because that's simply not true, pretty much all ROMs use custom sizes. Ignore that advice, it's wrong. In my opinion the easiest thing to do is to download the HD2 NAND Toolkit, click 'MAGLDR repartition', choose 200 and you're done.

Ok.
So I've downloaded the HD2 ToolKit.
Actually what I need to do is this:
1. To choose the 200MB and 5 Cache and then press repartition. (In what way does the phone need to be ? MAGDLR Menu, or other option ? )
2. Then to install the CWM by going to MAGDLR - USB Flasher, connect to the computer, and run the
DAF.exe.
Right ?
1. Open the toolkit
2. Click the MAGLDR repartition tab and select 200 and change the cache size to 5
3. Click 'repartition' (bottom left of the toolkit)
4. Follow the instructions it gives you (boot your phone into USB flasher mode then connect it to your PC) and let it flash.

If I've already did it, just do this thing again and it will work ?
because now my phone cant load to the rom, it says NAND Kernel something and boots up to MAGDLR.
Is it OK ?
EDIT:
I've did it and chosed the "AD Recovery" option.
Now I can see that I have CWM Recovery!!
I thought that I had to choose somehow to install the CWM, and that's why I didn't understand.
Now,
Do you recommend to do wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache ?
And after that to install from CWM the ROM that I've transferd to the Root of the SD right ?
Thank you very much !!!
You don't need to wipe anything, that already happened when you flashed CWM. Yes you should just have to flash the ROM now, as said in the guide in my sig. You may want to create an EXT partition but for your particular ROM it's not a necessary step so you can skip that. Glad I could help

It isn't necessary because it automaticly transfer the data to the SD ?
During the installation a message showed up saying that the rom identified that I don't have an EXT-partition installed.
Can I make a partition using the CWM/ADVANCED/PARTITION-SD ?
Thank you so much for your help!!
You saved me, and becuase of you I didn't sell the phone.
Thank you!!
It isn't necessary because the ROM itself is quite light, so all of it can be fit on to the NAND memory. It would help to create one because you may need it in the future, so I personally would if I were you. The way you described would work fine
