Hello all,
I found this today, for your information:
Where’s Mango? An update on timing
‎Gestern, ‎21. ‎September ‎2011, ‏‎19:04:36 | Eric Hautala
Hi everybody. Given all the recent speculation around the timing of our Mango update, I wanted to bring you up to speed on what to expect next.
For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update—and making solid progress. As a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two. At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status.
This also seems like a good time to caution against installing unofficial or leaked copies of Windows Phone software.
During the official Windows Phone 7.5 update process, every Windows Phone will also receive software from the handset manufacturer. This matched and paired firmware has been painstakingly tuned so your phone—and apps—work with all the new features of Windows Phone 7.5. Since your phone requires the proper firmware to function as designed, my advice is simple: steer clear of bootleg updates and homebrew tools.
By the way, in case you missed it, we recently released new versions of both the Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac and the Zune software for PCs, which you’ll need to update your phone. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to install it. I think you’ll like the update-related improvements, which speed up the overall update process and give you more control over backups. A small favor: When you update to Zune 4.8, you’ll be asked to participate in improving the update process. Please consider doing so.
I know you’re eager to get your hands on the next release of Windows Phone—and everyone involved with Windows Phone is equally excited and eager to deliver it to you. Please hang on—we’re almost there.

I've tried but zune said it was error.....
I use "Back to the Future" Rom.

So this update doesn't seem to work. I don't even know why we'd need it since we have Mango. Or is there a difference between Official Mango and RTM Mango?

Update name : Mango ISV beta Bundle: Cleanup
I got the same problem, error code 800B010A

checkout the "Back to future" thread seems others got it resolved. Wondering whats different from that of the "Back to future" rom am using.

[Q] HELP NEEDED !! hd2 windows phone 7 zune software update???

i am wanting some help to do with my htc hd2 running windows phone 7 with the dft rom and mgldr and when i have my phone connected to my computer it brings up there is an update available but it always times out and i have tried rectifying the problem by downloading the windows phone support tool BUT this is where the problem is, i cant use this tool because the buttons on the phone have changed when the dft rom and mgldr have been installed and now i cant get my phone onto the connect to pc image screen for windows which is a black screen with the phone, cable and a laptop in it, the updates through zune will then be accepted it fails on the last step every time please help!!!! many thanks jamie.
Yes there is a update from Microsoft available for WP7 called NoDo. But a working adaptation of it for the HD2 is not available yet. It was a video released a while back showing NoDo copy and Paste feature working on the HD2 by the DFT. But it kind of seem to be holding out for the Mangoo update or something because a ROM that can either receive the update or has the update included in it has yet to surface that I know of.
So just to make sure you understand, you can not install the update no matter what you do right now. Unless you would like to jump in and steal the spot light for a minute and be the one that officially released said ROM. That is if you are so minded to do it, I personally would love to but I do not have the knowledge to do so yet.

[Q] Update for LQ Quantum

I Had question to someone:
1. What the latest updates for LG Quantum AT&T?
2. What is Nodo? Are NoDo is official update from Microsoft?
3. Where i can download free Angry Birds
4. Why Google didnt make app for WP7 devices?
5. Are my data in phone memory when updating my phone are gone?
Sorry for my bad English
As a Microsoft Student Insider, I can answer these questions.
The latest update is the 7392 update. This is a minor update released after Nodo. NoDo is the codename for the first major update for the Windows Phone operating system. It is an official Microsoft update. In order to get an update, just connect your quantum to your windows system using the Zune client software. Any (and all) updates to the Windows Phone operating system that Microsoft releases is free. In regards to updating, you cannot apply the latest update directly. You must apply the updates in steps (for example, stock rom version -> 7008 -> Nodo -> 7392 -> Mango (when it is released).
Angry Birds is not free. I believe it costs $2.99 (or whatever it costs in your currency).
Probably the best reason that Google didn't make Windows Phone versions of its apps is because it already has Android (and if it did make them, Google would just be feeding its competition).
Any data that was on your device before an update is applied will be there after the update. During the update process, the Zune client backs up the files on your system and restores them after the update has been applied. If something does go haywire during the update process, you can use the backup that the Zune client made to restore your device to the way it was before your last update.
I hope this helps you and answers your questions. If you want some good insight and news on windows phone, feel free to check out my blog (link is in my signature below).
You can also get the Mango Beta 2 update. You can find the procedures here on the WP7 forum.

It's in beta, which means that it is not the finished product and there may be some bugs that haven't been fixed yet, but most of the important bugs have been fixed. If you want to play it safe, just wait until an (official) update for Mango is put out.

Then when official Mango update is release
i'm can't waiting a long 4 that

How get the .212 FW if you lost you back up! Updated!

So Im fixing this post to make it more clear for everyone and to help out the few who need it. If you are a Unlocked or Tmobile DVP user had updated your phone to Mango and didnt back up you NoDo back up, so you werent able to get the .212 FW fix. This is for you.
So if you are running Mango 7713 or 7714 that was released it removed you from the main update stream and you werent able to get any updates rolled out. However, there has now been a new Mango verison released which is the RTM 7720 build, meaning it will put you back in the main update stream and you will be able to get all future updates. Go to the Windows Phone 7 forum here and follow the instrustions on how to update you phone to that build. When done you zune software will tell you there is another update for your phone which is the .212 FW update. This is really safe and hard to mess up, and you can always restore to where you are no if you mess up. Just after you do your updates this time make sure you back up you back ups! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

So If you update to 7720 (the leaked RTM copy of mango found in the windows fourms) It will allow you to update to .212 after even if you lost your other backups. Because 7720 is back in the main update stream you can get it!

the major question is post 7720 f/w updating that concerns me
What's concerning about it? Its the RTM build its safe and stable. Its the exact same version the next next line of windows phones will be released with.

whether users will get the oem update not on nodo not the os update...because it seems like microsoft and OEMs are bundling the mango firmware and mango os together. We have the OS not the firmware
I've held off on mango altogether until i get the at&t .212fw just because i didnt want to have to revert. But if this is the case (can get mango, then get update) i just may bite the bullet and get rolling. Although...dell said mid august for at&t, so close...yet so far.
They are not putting the two updates together. they are still two seprate ones. and because 7720 in back in the main update stream you dont have to worry about missin out on any updates.

Need help restoring off of the Mango Beta

Kinda lost, still don't fully understand WP7. I bought the phone a few weeks ago with a Mango Beta installed on it. Someone brought it to my attention that when the legit Mango comes out that I won't be able to update to it. How can I get my phone to where I can update it when the official Mango release comes out? I have searched this but I'm not sure if reading on a different phone forum makes a difference. And people answer this question in different ways so it's a little confusing. Thanks guys!
First thing to do is check which version of the software you have on your phone, settings - about - more info.
If you have an OS version number greater than 7.0.7392 but less than 7720 you have a beta build of the OS and you wont be able to directly update the OS to Mango. This is because when the beta version of the OS was loaded it took a backup of your phone for you to return to when the official update was released. The backup is keyed to you device ID and means that a backup from someone else's phone wont work on yours.
However there are methods that will allow you to update to the RTM version of the OS at this link HERE or HERE but be warned that the update that is coming out in the next couple of weeks will have the extra drivers and tweaks that are specific to the DVP from Dell.
If you don't feel confident with that, you could try getting the person you bought it from to restore it back to the old version so that you can receive your update, or phoning dells support (Ouch!)
Looks like there may be an official way to install the final Mango without rolling back to NoDo first:

Bummer... wish I had known about this "Friends n Family" update last week before I restored Nodo. (Stupid rumors!!!) It's like a totally different phone. Here's hoping the update is coming soon.
That's awesome! That looked like such a pain that I was probably going to stay on the beta lol.
Awesome, I'll make a thread with precise steps so people may see it and finally get our DVP's fixed and updated!

And spam your own site as you do? Ugh.

Latest OS?

Sup people,
What is the latest version of the OS out there for the DVP?
7.xx.xxxx?
Right now I have 7.10.7720.
To beat a dead horse, these things can't be updated right? No one has figured out how to do it?
7.10.8773.98 is the latest update
The current version for DVP is 7.10.8773.98. The updates have been released by Dell and Microsoft long back, but telecom companies like TMO and ATT have been holding back the updates. There have been many instances of users angry posts on various forums including microsoft answers and latest I read a couple of days back is that Windows 7.8 will be directly sent by MS to phones bypassing the operators, so I think as Windows 7.8 release date seems some time OCT-DEC 2012, its best to wait for the update as all phones would definitely be getting the 7.8 bypassing the operators.

Mine is running 7.10.8773. A few weeks back I had a notification that it had an update and plugged it into zune and it updated. I am on T-Mobile in the US if that helps.
The latest WP7 rom for any device is 8779.
Officially the VP is somewhere between 7720 and 8773 (as in what it will recieve over zune updates/OTA)
There has yet to be a single user that recieved the 8779 update to actually bother getting the urls for it, we only have up to 8773 so officially or unofficially that is the latest version for the VP.
Hopefully when WP7.8 launches we'll get the 8779 urls (as that's how WP updates usually work)
We're on T-Mo US too and haven't recieved any notifications.
My mom's HD7 is on 8107, with both our phones saying "no update found".
Can they be forced?
Assuming you know what languages are already on your device: yes.
The firmware bundle might be a bit of an issue, so you really need to read and plan or you might end up with a brick.
Only the lumias are reliably getting 8779 as it's still carrier/manu dependant what one is officially available.
