Dont worry. Do this. First use the wall charger and charge your phone for at least 30mins. So if your phone is off then it will charge till 70-80%. Check if it is charging by looking at the micro-usb port lighting up.
Now go to the White triangle with ! mark. Then press @ button. You will get options. Select erase data by pressing volume button and then clicking enter button on your keypad.
After the wipe has been done pull out battery. Then start RSD Lite on your computer. Put the battery to your phone. Now press both volume up and volume down together and then power button for 2secs. Leave power button. You will see it in bootloader.
Now load sbf file on RSD software and wait for it to recognize your phone. Then click start. Thats it. Your phone should be ok.

I think I may have bricked my phone beyond repair. I initially had a problem rooting my dx after the .340 update. I flashed to .320 using rsd lite. That seemed to do the trick. I was able to reroot. I created a nandroid backup.
Last night my phone died. I put on the wall charger for a couple hours. Now the device boots to the moto screen and freezes. I was able to get into recover using the home button. I used the recovery and the device was fixed...i thought. It only lasted about 10 min. Now I am back at the moto screen. I have access to recovery but not bootstrap...the factory recovery. I tried a factory reset no luck. I have done battery pulls w/wo sd card...no luck. Also I have no access to the bootloader any more.
Any ideas or am I outta luck?
No bootloader.. weird. I think you are out of luck. try vol up and vol dwn while phone is off then hit the power button to turn phone on keep holding the vol buttons until a exclamation mark appears then let go of vol keys hit the search button. see it that boots you into recovery.
For bootloader access...hold volume down and camera button after doing a battery pull.
For stock recovery after a battery pull...hold home and camera button, release home at M screen, wait for triangle press search key, data/cache wipe and factory reset, reboot.
For clockwork...plug phone into wall charger, battery pull, wait for green screen, put battery back in and clockwork should be there
verizon is overnighting me a new phone. the rep said the last .340 update had corrupt files.
thanks for all the support. i appreciate it!
I was using cm10 2/11 for defy green lens.. I flashed indian froyo.. and it didn't boot up.. but when I connect to my comp it shows a white light... and gets detected in rsd lite.. so I flashed Chinese sbf .. den the phone was again black and not booting... not it is not getting detected on my comp but it is showing white led light.. plz help out...:crying:
Try this:
1. Pull out the phone battery
2. Put it back in the phone and press and hold volume down + power button and hold it for about 6-7 seconds, then release.
3. If a Robot logo appeared, you are lucky. Now press volume up + down at the same time, or press back button.
4. You should be in stock recovery now, touch Wipe data and then wipe cache. After that, press Reboot and the system should boot up
Also, a warning: I was flashing that chinese .sbf numerous times, and the result is bricked flashlight. So, flash it only when you need to!

Go to that thread and download the full firmware XML.zip and flash it with RSD Lite 6.14.
That will return the device to stock condition and you can start over.
You must power on the phone holding both Vol keys and power and then use the vol down to scroll to AP Fastboot and then Vol Up to select it and the phone will restart with bootloader screen showing.
Now connect the cable and open RSD Lite and it should see the device.
Drag the XML.zip file onto the right pane and it will give you the option to decompress the archive and start flashing.
It will take a while to complete the flash and will then reboot into recovery and flash the radios and reboot again automatically.
This will wipe the userdata and cache partitions as well and will go through an initial setup and activation on first boot.

yea I tried that with no success, now its not even turning on. I plug it in thinking it has no battery and the green status light goes on and no charging screen. I try both volume buttons and power button, the status light goes off but nothing happens. I've tried holding the buttons anywhere from 10-45 seconds with no success. all the while even when I first was able to get to the safe strap screen the soft key buttons were unresponsive...
went to verizon and they couldn't figure it out (yes I know its not advisable) got a replacement in the mail today and sending the non-functioning one back.
That happened to me once. It just took me repeatedly pressing and holding the power and volume keys. Leave the charger alone for a bit. The phone boots up the battery status and safe strap when its off and hooked up to a power source. So try it a few times and be patient. I help the keys over 20 seconds.

Green light is an indicator of a very low battery, usually fixed by leaving it charging for a while...

So everything was running fine - i was on the last CM7 build ( maniacs final ) with a BL7 defy, left it on charge overnight and when i came ot it this morning its stuck on the red M logo and wont boot - and recovery has gone as well - no blue LED.
I can boot into the bootloader, but thats about it, the standard recovery menu wont appear either.

Ive just tried re-flashing the SBF files as per the instructions on rooting a bl7 defy, while it appeared to go OK, the phone is still stuck on the red motorola logo - no blue LED - please help....
Recovery mode doesnt work, after pulling the battery and re-starting i t whilst pressing power down, the only thing that happens is a red motorola logo, and there it stays.

the weird thing is that it bricked itself after running fine for the last few weeks.

Hmmm, that worked for me. Took out the battery, left it for 2 minutes. I put back the battery, nothing happened. Then I realized that the phone had gone off so I did what I told you.
I can get to the bootloader with no problem, stock recovery on the other hand is completely absesnt

RSD lite is showing the device as Omap3630 and imei as N/A

What I mean is that when you put the battery back, the phone should not switch on (the moto symbol should not come)
As long as it shows in RSDlite, its all good.

THE BLUE LED ONLY COMES WHEN CUSTOM RECOVERY IS INSTALLED.
SEE GOOGLE ON HOW TO ENTER STOCK RECOVERY. IF YOU MANAGED TO USE RSDLITE THEN I'M SURE YOU CAN GO TO STICK RECOVERY.
When you put back the battery, does the phone start? If it does then remove it and wait a little longer and try. It should work, it has worked for me. Plus If it shows in rsdlite you can try flashing to stock.

thanks, but dont i have to install stock recovery first? i thought i removed upgrade one when i installed TWRP...
but ill try to have it in charge for hour then ill try holding buttons.
Update:
I let phone in charger for a hour. After hour it is still flashing red, when i try to hold buttons, phone just turn off and then flash red.
<- it didnt charged.. i still think problem is it charge a little, then start booting, --> booting discharge phone --> phone will turn off --> automatically
start charging a little --> then it start booting again --->then it repeats.
I know I am stupid, i should just let it in TWRP before it discharged, but it happened what now?
It looks like my problem is to charge now, do i have to do some manual charge?

I have the exact same problem, sitting here with my bootlooping p8 lite and can't charge it.
I charged it overnight and even then it was flashing red and showing that the battery is low.
Can't boot into recovery (TWRP) or Bootloader, just don't know what to do, is there a method to charge it or boot somehow?
Sometimes you need phone to be connected to pc to reboot into bootloader. I have read from somewhere that if you connect phone to pc and hold only "volume -" it will boot(I haven't tested myself). I once had similiar problem with honor 4x and just trying to reboot it like 3h it somehow got to bootloader. I also had problem not charging.

Conectado to PC try power button plus volume up.
if anyone curious. just block volume down with some gum or chain or something and then put it to charger. It will not start bootlooping
Had the same problem just let the phone discharge for a few days (when you press the power button it should not blink red) then hold the volume button in the middle and plug it into the pc it should boot into recovery mode. Download the stock firmware for your model(UPDATE.app) and use the update extractor to get the boot, system, cust & recovery images and install them using fastboot commands. Or you could download the unbrick files from the mega thread for your device (dual or single sim) and replace the boot, cust, system & recovery images with the ones of your stock firmware and the use the install bat
I solved this problem by disconnecting the battery 3 months ago
