So with Mango only beeing 1-2 weeks away I wonder how I can update to Mango and keep my unlock. I have a Omnia 7 with the latest update installed and ofcourse unlocked.
Help would be apreciated

Doesn't NoDo sound a bit defeatist! should have be called CanDo....
I don't think NoDo is out yet. All the Devs got were updated SDKs.
The Mobile OS update is still unreleased to public.
i dont get any update in zune
You need to do a 'Check for Updates' in Zune on your PC. That's how I updated mine.

NoDo stands for "No Donut" not "do" as in you are doing something. It's a shot at Google for naming all of their ROM updates after desserts.
Anyhow xbmod and the other guys are already working on this since a few days.

So Im fixing this post to make it more clear for everyone and to help out the few who need it. If you are a Unlocked or Tmobile DVP user had updated your phone to Mango and didnt back up you NoDo back up, so you werent able to get the .212 FW fix. This is for you.
So if you are running Mango 7713 or 7714 that was released it removed you from the main update stream and you werent able to get any updates rolled out. However, there has now been a new Mango verison released which is the RTM 7720 build, meaning it will put you back in the main update stream and you will be able to get all future updates. Go to the Windows Phone 7 forum here and follow the instrustions on how to update you phone to that build. When done you zune software will tell you there is another update for your phone which is the .212 FW update. This is really safe and hard to mess up, and you can always restore to where you are no if you mess up. Just after you do your updates this time make sure you back up you back ups! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

the major question is post 7720 f/w updating that concerns me
What's concerning about it? Its the RTM build its safe and stable. Its the exact same version the next next line of windows phones will be released with.

whether users will get the oem update not on nodo not the os update...because it seems like microsoft and OEMs are bundling the mango firmware and mango os together. We have the OS not the firmware
I've held off on mango altogether until i get the at&t .212fw just because i didnt want to have to revert. But if this is the case (can get mango, then get update) i just may bite the bullet and get rolling. Although...dell said mid august for at&t, so close...yet so far.
They are not putting the two updates together. they are still two seprate ones. and because 7720 in back in the main update stream you dont have to worry about missin out on any updates.

which is the point of that thread.. which is impressive for that because it is an HD2.
My dvp is nodo 7392 and locked i want mango with unlocked chevron done is this possible ?

just provision your phone for mango updates - get to 7712 via zune and then use the bat files to get to 7720.
that is the same thing everyone is doing .. (and what the thread for the HD2 is for... i have 2 HD2s running mango)

also, this is a general wp7 question... look in that forum (not the hd2 one)

I just took home HTC Trophy. It has version 7004, so I can use Chevron tu unlock it. I need it, because I have to change some registry setting before update to Mango, so it would download Mango localized into my language.
My queations are:
1) Do I need to update phone to some mid-version before going to official Mango, or will it be update from 7004 directly to Mango? I need to have that modified registry value in time, I will be making Mango update, so I dont know, if some mid-version would not delete that modified value...
2) Will be phone still unlocked after doing update to official version of Mango (of course in time it will be released)?

I updated to mango today. had nodo unlocked but device was locked after update... reverted back to nodo and are looking for the way to get mango and stay unlocked.
Need mango for whatsapp
You can give this a try. Didn't work for me but some claim it does. Other than this there isn't a way to do this right now (AFAIK).

thanx LiFePo4. After reverting back to nodo and installing the U2M7720_V1.2.xap i was able to unlock after mango update. Running HTC update now.

i had a lg optimus 7. now i just bought a samsung focus. it came with the 7004 firmware and it just updated to 7008.. but no nodo... im 1.3 and i want copy and paste!. how can i get nodo without hacking my phone?

Check your zone and phone again for updates.
It should come after some time.
Maybe Microsoft servers busy with mango update.
its soved now. i had to do a hard reset. well no i have a developer unlock nodo. do you know how do i prepere for the mango update this 27? i dont want to loose the jailbreak. i got no clue how to do it with samsung since with lg it was very very easy.

I had the same issue with no luck. I heard since mango was on the way updates to nodo weren't available. I didn't try to packet capture to see why it face palmed, gonna try tomorrow after mango is out.
