[Q] Brick ?? HELP :S - Touch HD General

Hey people, I usually upgrade roms on my blackstone, been 2 years now, all fine, until yesterday after a task 29.{Ypsmav rom} My phone didn't want to start, eternal freeze on start up with the htc logo ..
Can you kindly help me please.Tried several HR, to no avail..

It's likely not a freeze. Can you still enter the bootloader? (press and hold volume down while switching on or resetting the device). If yes, try putting a valid blackstone ROM as "BLACIMG.nbh" in the root of an sd card while the device is not connected to your PC, and flash the rom.

Known Issue:
During the first start of the device, it may freeze on the white screen or just showing the background.
in order to avoid this problem, pls proceed as follows:
After flashing the device will do the UC (user customization) and will restart. After restarting when on the white screen, just hit a few times the top left corner of the screen, until you see the dropdown icon menu to appear. You can also hit the send button and topbar. When the device reacts just let it finish the startup processes and Sense should start without problems.

If you are not able to make the device to react, proceed as follows:
- hardreset the device: turn off (by removing battery), press volup+voldown, hit the power button and follow the instructions.
- the device will start, run the UC customization and then restart.
- Hit the top left corner as described on the previous paragraph.

The ypsmav roms have an issue where the phone appears as though it freezes on start up.
Just try the above and everything should be fine.

Hey, worked just fine. Thxs

Tbh a brick is when the phone does nothing, i.e. won't turn on, no lights or anything....hence as useless as a brick. If your phone is stuck at htc logo, can enter bootloader or even if the light comes on when connected to a charger......it is not bricked and can be recovered.
I have tinkered with many phones and literally bricked 3 of them.......not pleasant.
I'm not having a dig at anyone, just want people to stop using the term "bricked" when in fact the phone is not bricked
I'm glad you got your issue resolved
For future, make sure you have a BLACIMG.nbh (rom file) in the root of your sd card before you do a task29 as a t29 wipes everything including the rom, hence why your device got stuck at splash screen (as no rom to load )

Unable to restore to stock firmware

I was having problems with my focus ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669192 ) so I tried to restore it to stock firmware.
I have Rev 1.3, so I downloaded appropriate firmware.
All steps went fine, however when the phone rebooted, the logo flashed on the screen for some 3-4 times & stopped. Now it is just stuck on logo.
So what to do guys ?
Btw I can still go to downloading mode.

Try flashing again. If it fails go back to the custom rom you were using.
Yes, I did tried to flash again & still same.
Earlier it was on stock & never was on custom ROM.
Shall I try installing Custom Roms ?
I don't think I can install Clean ROM since I cannot perform these steps :
2.) Go to 'Settings' -> 'about' -> 'reset your phone' -> 'yes' -> 'yes'
3.) Right when the screen goes black press and hold 'voldown + camera'
4.) Press '<-' (cancel)

But I guess I could try Mi7ROM, Freedom ROM
UPDATE :
1. The phone was stuck on Samsung Logo
2. I rebooted. The logo flashed like 4-5 times like mentioned earlier.
2. I rebooted again & to my surprise I saw this screen loading.

I'm in the same boat i also have focus which is in the same condition......i have tried almost every possible was to restore it but no luck.
Did u try to format the the phone with Vol down camera and power ?
When i try to put my phone to format mode the second it shows to the mode it restarts and goes to the samsung logo.....do u have face this thing ?
It looks as if the eboot or some other part of the firmware is not flashed correctly.
Can any of you try the attached flasher with the stock rom? (use this exe/flasher, not the default one inside the rom)

So did you reflash? Or just restarted?
I tried just restarting.
The earlier issue is back. Sometimes phone goes off with samsung logo flashing multiple times.

It's possible you have a hardware error, but to verify, did you select ALL the checkboxes when you flashed the phone? You should flash all parts, including: Phone Boot, Phone, Eboot, PDA, CSC Download.
At first I did not check. second time I did.
The random reboots have been disappeared after I placed a small piece of paper near battery so that it can connect it tightly. However battery is draining too fast now
I guess the fault is in battery

[Q] HELP stuck on cyongen mod screen start screen

I updated to cyonogenmod nightly 10.2 this morning and it took away my gmail and youtube... so me being a dumby wanted to not deal with that, so i chose to install the earlier cyanogenmod i had on.. 10.1.2? i believe, did that and it was stuck on the start screen... spinning cyanogen mod... got it into recovery mode and factory reset it... this took away all my gapps, so i was bummed when it started working again... so i got home and tried to unroot cyanogen for some reason... out of frustration... followed some guide and it didnt, still had cyanogenmod on it, got past the spin screen, but it was all black and notifications like NFC stopped responding... and then phonecom.android.source stopped etc... nothing worked.. i turned it off tried to go into recovery mode again but its on stock recovery mode now... did a wipedata and factory restore on that and nothing works now just is stuck on the spin screen forever... Is my phone bricked? did i doo too much damage? is there an adb sideload option to put 4.2.2 back on? is it gone forever? PLEASE HELP
Download the stock rom from the Google servers. Extract the zip and connect your phone in the bootloader. Then run the flash-all.bat (assuming you are on windows). This will reflash everything to stock
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.2.2

what jb is your phone? i will help you.
all you need is
1. Nexus 4 Toolkit (download here)
2. Google Factory Images "occam" for Nexus 4(This will wiped all of your data and unroot your dev-ice). I remind you to choose the factory images carefully, "Factory Images "occam" for Nexus 4" and 4.3 is recommended.
yeah you need two of them only.
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PHONE IS IN BOOTLOADER MODE. IF YOU CAN'T GET INTO BOOTLOADER(SOMETIMES WHEN YOU PRESS THE POWER BUTTON FOR A LONG TIME IT WILL SHUTDOWN AND REBOOT AGAIN),SO YOU NEED TO CONNECT YOUR PHONE EITHER TO LAPTOP OR AC CHARGER ADAPTER, THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR 10secs THEN YOU WILL FIND YOUR PHONE SHUT DOWN AND IN THE CHARGING MODE. UNPLUG THE CABLE FROM YOUR DEVICE AND WAIT FOR A WHILE(5MINS), UNTIL YOUR PHONE IS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. AND THEN, GET INTO THE BOOTLOADER MODE (PRESS AND HOLD VOL DOWN BUTTON AND POWER BUTTON TOGETHER FOR 5 SECS. IF IT REBOOT AGAIN DO THE ABOVE STEPS AGAIN UNTIL YOU ARE IN BOOTLOADER. YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT GETTING INTO IT.
1.install nexus toolkit. then select deviec "Nexus 4(LG E960)" and the android build choose "OCCAM-MAKO: ANdroid *.*.* - Anybuild",apply
2.if the dialog box says it want to download something, just ok. it wont take too long
3.nah now.

Please Help!!! Non Altered S4 SPH-L720 stuck at sprint screen.

I have done some searching around this thread but have not found anything specific to my issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a bit of a noob to dealing with this sort of issue. Also should note, my phone is not rooted. just regular OTA updates that come through sprint. Issue: Last night i was browsing the internet on my s4 and the screen went black and the lil light stayed blue. I tried to restart normally but button wouldn't work, so hard restarted by taking battery out. After splash screen starts, the phone just gets stuck at yellow sprint screen. I am able to boot into "safe mode" (vol. up, home, power) and tried deleting the cache, but that has no affect. My question is, is there a way to at least get into the drive so i can copy some pictures off to my pc before i factory reset?
Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can anyone help me out with this? Or at least tell me if recovering the data is possible?

Factory reset won't wipe your pictures or anything of that nature. Simply uninstall all of your apps and wipe their data.

how is that possible? I don't have an sdcard in my phone, so the pics are stored on the phones' drive itself not on an external sdcard. Are you 100% positive about that statement. That a factory reset wont wipe out pictures stored on the phone?

Yes. The phones drive is also an SD card. Commonly referred to as Internal SD. The pictures are stored in the folder DCIM. A factory reset wipes data/app and data/data in the root of the system.
ok so i factory reset my device, but still no go. Still gets stuck at sprint screen. Any other advice here?

Odin the stock tar is your only other option.
My wife has the exact same issue. Some apps would refuse to run, so she would have to reboot often. Today, it stuck on the yellow sprint screen. Had to remove battery and reboot. when it started acting up again tonight, she rebooted and could not get past the yellow sprint screen. No amount of rebooting, pulling battery, clearing cache, etc. would help.
I do not know if she took the latest update, so I don't know exactly which version is on the phone (it is stock. not rooted).
Have not tried a factory reset. Was not aware that the camera pics would survive a reset. What about contacts and downloads? I'm assuming all downloaded apps and data will be gone?
I'm assuming one way to go is install CWM, so I can at least make a backup or connect with adb. Is there a way to boot CWM ala fastboot instead of flashing CWM and tripping knox?

[HELPP] H918 is stuck at a bootloop and I've tried everything!!

I've searched far and wide for an answer to my problem and I've returned with nothing. It's been almost 24 hours without my phone and I think I'm losing it. I've downloaded and tried LGUP (alongside Uppercut), LG FlashTool 2014, LG Bridge, LG DLLs, etc and nothing has worked to flash my phone to stock with the KDZ. The closest I've gotten it to work is with LGUP but stupid me, I managed to edit the buildprop before it went self destruct and changed the device identifier to a Google Pixel XL and LGUP refuses to cooperate. Any help is appreciated. Please. :good:
I've managed to get into fastboot. I'm sure I can do something from here but idk what to put. Any help is appreciated once again

My guess is that you're rooted considering you've edited the build.prop? Why not enter recovery and flash a stock rom?

Can you not get into TWRP?? I believe its the same way as everyone else..\
Hold the volume down button and the power button and as soon as you see the LG logo left go of the power button and press it again. This manual step is a pain in the arse, but it will get you there eventually. Since youre rooted, you also get the "This device is corrupted screen" yes? The LG logo popup you are looking for is right before that.
What I do for easy and fast access is this. I keep the back cover off and hold the volume down button for ease. I hold the power button, let go, and press it again and ususally that first try doesnt work. As soon as I see the corrupt screen I take the battery out very quickly and put it back in and repeat the process. After a few tries the LG logo will hang before the corrupt screen and that gives you the time you need to let go of the power button and then hold it again until the factory reset screen comes up. Just hit yes twice... It will go into TWRP.

Well with the corrupt screen, it seems that the time frame that would allow you into Recover/TWRP is shorted. So pulling the battery after trying usually gave me more than enough time to boot into it. Probably not the best for the phone though xD

X727 LePro 3 stuck in Recovery Boot Mode. Not Rooted, have access to Fastboot

Hi all,
I was wondering what anyone can tell me about the problem I've got with my Le Eco Le Pro 3 phone. So, I had access to the phone before I jammed both the volume up and down buttons, which caused me to go into fastboot mode. Initially I would get the trusty ole platform tools and just "fastboot continue" the phone into the regular boot. It worked the first time, but I guess the volume down button was still jammed and I got myself into a little bit of a loop. Now, instead of going into fastboot mode, I go straight into Recovery Mode, which I've had to translate because it was in Chinese. The two options I have in recovery mode are to "clear data and do a factory reset" or "install an update.zip". Now, I instead opted to exit out of Recovery mode by pressing the bottom left option, but it just boots back into Recovery mode. I haven't rooted the phone and I have no usb debugging enabled because the issue sort of popped up outta nowhere. Initially, I probably should have just backed up all the data on the device and not had to go through any troubles, but that's why I'm making this post. I would also like to further note that I do have a lockscreen code, so if that "encrypts" the data (making it harder to get to, I guess) is my only guess.
I read on another thread where I can essentially unlock the bootloader through fastboot mode and then be able to enable USB debugging that way and maybe manually remove the files from my phone and just factory reset it to see if I can get the phone running. I also looked into just straight up factory resetting it, but I would probably have to root it before I do so that I can run a third party tool to get the data after the reset. I'm also quite new to this whole issue but I'm stressed and straight out of options.
I would also like to note that there was a blue light when I had tried starting the phone on the upper right hand corner where it would indicate the battery level. The whole recovery boot loop could have been caused by a battery malfunction, but I do get a response from the device in fastboot mode (so I think the phone is not entirely dead). It also charged up to 100% without issue.
Basically, I just wanted to see what anybody had to say about my problem and if you all have any advice (like how do I backup a phone that is not rooted).
Many thanks in advance.
I've also posted an image with the recovery mode

Did you try to fastboot boot TWRP?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6010 using Tapatalk
The phone doesn't have TWRP and has stock ROM. Installing TWRP would require me to OEM unlock it and then flash the current bootloader (thus replacing the original recovery boot). Unless I'm completely wrong and there is a way to install TWRP without losing the data on the phone, then I would love to be enlightened because I'm at my wits end.
I tried charging it to 100% and restarting it but it just leads me to the recovery screen. I'm not entirely sure if the phone volume buttons are still jammed, because that could still be the case.

Fix the buttons the phone should boot
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6010 using Tapatalk
Alrighty, so a little update. I got the phone's buttons removed but it still boots into the recovery mode. The metal button on the side was removed but the button module remains. It's just not jammed any longer, which now begs the question: Why is it still booting in Recovery mode? I am currently charging it to 100% to see maybe it could be bugged with the battery, but that is the update so far. Button module is no longer jammed but we are still booting into the Recovery mode.
Any suggestions would definitely help in my 2 month long battle with this phone.
Btw, I also replaced the screen because the repairman who removed the buttons broke the original one and the new screen responds to all touch.
