Webkit fails in 3.2 - Acer Iconia A500

Hi all,
Since the 3.2 upgrade last week; it seems that webkit browser freeses more often than in 3.1.
Yesterday evening it was a nightmare ! We need to re boot the Iconia every 10 minutes or less ...
Then later, we could uses it during one hour or more without any problem...
This takes me crazy...
Anyone can confirm ?
Or is it some other network dialog consequence ?

[Q] Stock browser flickers white when first viewed

Hi all
Does anyone else have their stock browser flicker when they first view a web page? It flickers a few times when you touch the screen to scroll, for example, and after a few flickers, the flicker stops and then all is well.
I bought an unlocked GT from Tesco last year and then flashed it to P1000XXJM6, kernal version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1, FROYO.XXJM6.
It usually happens when I'm about to show someone how wonderful my tab is and then I have to explain it does this weird thing from time to time.
Any thoughts? Surely it's not just me?
Thanks
Gareth
I've had this happen on JME/JMF firmwares and it does only happen in the stock one as mentioned,
I use dolphin HD most of the time ..I don't think i get this in the JMI roms of recent days though, i will confirm later tonight (TAB at home with the misses).
For now use Dolphin HD (Full screen mode) whilst showing off ^^
Would be great if you could confirm - as I might need to reflash to avoid the problem.

[Q]Random Reboots when connected to keyboard

I have had my transformer and keybaord for about a week. I have upgraded to the 3.1 OS and numerous times during the day, the tablet reboots randomly throughout the day, only while connected to the keyboard dock. It also has never done this while I was actually interacting with it, just when it is sitting in front of me screen asleep. ASUS support of course has advised me to do a factory wipe and to wait before reloading apps to see if problem still exists. my questions:
1. Has anyone else experienced this same issue?
2. Is there any type of a log file or event viewer that i can get to that could give some reason for this happening?
Thanks!!

Yes, I had this issue ever since I update to 3.1 from 3.0.1. I already open a post few days ago regarding this issue. At that time, no one else have this issue.
Last night my TF tablet rebooted automatically without docking to the keyboard dock... (this is after I did a system wipe after I upgrade to "Leaked 3.1" for the second time). It kept on rebooting non-stop for about 5 minutes. I took out the microsd card and power it off. After this, I put the microsd card back into the tablet and it worked again... But after this incident, my TF tablet has been up for about 12 hours without a reboot. I haven't dock it to the keyboard dock this morning. I'm sure it will auto reboot again once I do.
I"m having the same issue except when my TF reboots it also completely wipes the system, this has happened twice already and I'm not very happy.
It's happening to me too. It's really wierd, never when I interact with it, but I will just be looking at it and it's on the Asus screen all of a sudden. WTF
Mine has started doing this yesterdya, it only happens while it's idle, never while I'm playing with it, I'll just look over and it's on the ASUS logo and I realize it's rebooting. I just installed quite a few games on Sunday night, along with an AV software, instant messenger, a new battery widget that shows a graphic for your tablet and dock battery level, and keyboard pro so I went through first and uninstalled the AV software, instant messenger, and keyboard pro and going to see if any of those were the problem. I really think this is likely a software issue rather than a random hardware issue that just starts happening weeks after purchase, doesn't make sense.

What software did you use that shows the dock battery level? Is it a free software?
I think the random reboot issue has to do with 3.1 update. Mine never happened when I had 3.0.1. I think Google and Asus know about this... I think they will come up with a solution hopefully soon.

That's the link for the battery widget, I did just install that yesterday morning too so it's possible that may be causing it for me I dunno. I updated to 3.1 last Tuesday or Wednesday and I don't recall seeing this random reboot issue until yesterday so I'm not too sure it's the 3.1 update itself causing it, I still think it's some app or combo of apps I've installed that's doing it...

post 3.1 browser randomly shuts off!!

For whatever reason, after the 3.1 update, browser has been shutting down randomly by itself. It's really annoying! Anyone experiencing similar?
I used to get that more often on 3.0. now that I've updated to 3.1 it seems more stable but still crashes from time to time. I think it's a 3.x issue.
I I got tired of those crashes, switched to Dolphin instead.
I really liked the stock browser till the update, now it crashes every hour. I am having lots of glitches I DIDNT have before.

[Q] Words with Friends Problem Acer A500

I have just bought Acer Iconia A500 and when I play Words WF the tray tiles keep shuffling until I place one, running Honeycomb 3.1, is this a problem with the tablet or software ? I have tried turning the rotation off any ideas please
I play the game myself on my tablet and do not have this problem.. Are you running the Tablet version of the app of the phone version? I have no issues at all witht he tablet version.
I expect the tablet version I downloaded from market with the tablet I did not need to specify so believe should be right I have got the ap on an Optus Tablet works fine, thanks for your reply ????????????
If you got it through the market as opposed to installing an APK manually then you should have the right version. I am at a loss as to why you are experiencing the problem you describe though. Not experiencing this issue at all myself.
try to uninstall, then reinstall, may be a bad apk u installed
Hi. Your accelerometer is what's causing the issue. It's reporting the Z axis to be 0 to + 18 instead of -9.6 to +9.6.
I have the exact same issue. It's not a bad install or APK. You'll have the same problems in games like ATilt 3D Labyrinth, and anything else that relies on Z-axis. Have been looking for a fix or an update that fixes this but so far nothing.
I've tried multiple roms so far. My next attempt is going to revert back to stock (unrooted) 3.0 and try the OTA updates.
Update: Just reverted back to stock rom, issue is present in words with friends and also ATilt 3D Labybrinth. However, it's not present in Labyrinth Lite. Odd. updating now to stock 3.1
Update: Just updated to stock 3.1 via OTA. Words with friends now working/not constantly changing tiles.
I had the same problem. Constant shuffling in WWF. Updated to 3.1 and seems to be gone. They should've put a way to turn off shake-to-shuffle (which is what causes the problem). Honestly who would shake their tablet (or phone) to shuffle when there is a button right there?
Hi thanks for your really detailed reply you obviously know your stuff but as I am very new to tablets I have no idea what or how to update etc. Tablet tells me 3.01, Kernel 2.6.36.3 and build 1.016.04.
What is rooted etc, sorry if I seem a bit thick but struggling with the terminology and process, I therefore probably am a bit thick....LOL thanks for your assistance, Phil

[Q] dropping back to home screen

I have had my nexis 7 since they fist came out. Use it every day. Lately when I am on the internet , usually on a news page, the unit will out of the blue, drop back to home page. Any suggestions ? Have not added any new apps, and reloaded my news app, no help.

I have the same problem that began after upgrade to 4.2.1. Would like to know if you are rooted or not and what browser are you using. It only seems to happen on xscope not on chrome.
Happens here on rooted stock 4.2.1 running Dolphin Browser. Although not very often, once or twice a day maybe? Haven't noticed it in stock browser ( I barely use it though)
