Long story short my phone worked fine for months. Went to a 1.56 Rom active sync stopped working. I have already tried everything associated with AS problem, everything. Went to get it repaired at HTC America in Houston, TX there gay and dont support T8285. I have tried flashing via memory card but I seem to be retarded doing it that way. Engineer said mini usb slot works fine, cooked rom may have corrupted AS. Customer service would not let him fix my phone because it was an "aussie version". I just want the phone to sync is that too much to ask? Anyway $100 bucks to anyone that can make it work paid via paypal immediately.
moved out of development
Personally I think your mad offering $100. I'm sure most people would have hepled you for free, including myself. I'm not after your money but offer my assistance.
Have you tried doing a hard reset? uninstalling activesync & reinstalling it?
Flashing different rom. If you can't flash through SD Card, have you tried flashing again via usb. You don't need phone sync'd
Put your phone into bootloader and then connect to pc via usb. At bottom of screen the text should change from 'serial' to 'usb'. Now flash phone by running rom (cooked or stock etc) you downloaded. Put .nbh and ruu file into same folder and then open ruu file and follow instructions.
I severely doubt cooked rom affected activesync.
EDIT
As bonesy said below, you'll need either USPL or HSPL to flash 1.56+ based rom.
Full tutorial or dummies guide to flashing 1.56+ based roms can be found in cRaCKwHoRe's guide. See my signature
Turn off your phone, Take out your memory card, Plug the miniUSB in then power on (Hold volume down press power holding volume down still) This will bring up a coloured screen. Run the ROM Wrapper package exe (BlackstoneRUUWrapper) This SHOULD now install the right ROM.
Please make sure you are using a 1.56 rom with the HSPL or i think it has problems with GFX.
When windows loads go to start>settings>connections>USBtoPC
this is on 6.5 rom not sure about 6.1 :/
Untick Enable faster data synchronizaion, I had to do all this on works computer to update a ROM god knows why but this was my fix.
ROM Should load as should activesync now.
Please let me know if this helps
Tried to post in ure original threads but mods were moving to trash each time BAH!
Thanks to both of you guys for your suggestions. I thought I was not a noob when it came to flashing roms but once I could not do it via usb I was a whole different story. Yeah I am offering the $100 just to get people to help. I know you get slammed if you ask a question so I figured I would make it worth someone's time. I am going right now to pick it up from the repair center so I will try during my lunch in about an hour.

So I got my phone and this is what it says.
BLAC120 32M
SPL-1.56.01Olinex
MicroP-Blackstone (LED) v6
and it's just red green blue and white no word on the bottom. Ran BlackstoneRUUWrapper with the nbh file that I wanted and it gave me a connection error. Now it says Seiral in the white.

Well I get it into bootloader no problem but then plug in the usb cable and nada, it says serial. So then I tried starting bootloader mode with the cabe and still nada, it does not even say serial. If I unplug it then it says serial. I have tried both ways to run the RUU Wrapper and I keep getting the usb conncetion error
serial?
Hi, please can you post a screen shot of where it says serial at boot screen?

ok, that looks pretty normal,so to recap you fully powerdown the phone by taking the battery out, put the cable into both the phone and pc and the turn on holding volume down and it just sits there?, what happens when you press volume up at this point?

Yeah I have been trying on my latop, home pc, and work pc and nothing same result. I have tried different usb cables, os, reinstalling, everything. Only thing I have not tried is flashing via sd card yet.
brick
its sounds like you have a corrupt spl, it is definately worth trying the sd card as it may allow you to activesync but it may then fallover when it reboots and goes into boot mode. This i where user viperbjk (see android dev thread) may be able to help as he has successfully managed to unbrick a phone.
I had this same problem but powering down and simply triggering the and spl reflash resolved it. your problem sounds different though.
Hi guys,
i'm pretty new to this so go easy on me have searched the forums for an answer to my quetion but couldn't find what i need.
I have put hard spl 1.66 onto my phone and am now trying to flash it have tried both the ROM and the radio but when trying to do it by active sync I get error [202] connection, then gives me a run down on what to check, I can access the phone through active sync etc and have followed the instructions in the noob guide but can't get past this point!
I have also tried flashing with the SD card but it does not boot up the .nbh file to carry on best I have been able to get is the factory reset option.
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Speersy.
i have tried to flash it off 3 different computers but get the same message each time, anyone fancy helping a noob? have followed the noob guide but must be going wrong somewhere
O.S Version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)

ROM date 10/28/09
Radio Version 2.04.50.22_2

I have tried all different CustomRUU.exe to try and flash my phone with a new radio and ROM but each time it says to check the USB cable which I don't understand as I can install the hardSPL2 on to the phone via USB cable, somebody help please.
Thanks

What model phone?
What does it say next to spl when you enter bootloader? (power off, hold vol down, tap power on, keep holding vol down till u get to three striped screen)
Are you using teh usb cable that came with it? are you using a usb hub? what operating system on the pc's?
hi thanks for the reply,
in the boot loader it says spl-2.08.HSPL 8g xe
yes i am using the cable that came in the box I have tried on a windows 7 machine and 2 xp machines both with latest updates
when you say model of phone I guess you mean htc hd2 on t-mobile uk
no i'M not using a usb hub cable goes straight into the pc
do you need any more info?
thanks

well that all sounds ok, can't see why it wouldn't work.
last possibility - when running the program, right click it and choose run as administrator.
oh and try all your usb ports.especially stay away from ports built into the case of the computer.try use one directly on themotherboard (one round the back)
Does the device connect to Activesync normally? What happens when you put the device into bootloader mode and then connect it to the pc via usb. Does "usb" appear at the bottom of the screen?
If so, try running the rom updater from the pc directly, ie not through Activesync

Hi Clyde the device connects to active sync normally and completes it's synch with no errors,
Yes when i put it into the boot loader screen it comes up with USB at the bottom of the screen, have tried what you suggested but it still came up with the same error message,
tried again to do it from the SDcard when i enter the boot loader it brings up a loading screen then some numbers above that in red then goes back to the multi coloured screen and does nothing, you think that there is something wrong with the ROM??
is the noob guide which is stickied an accurate guide to use?

I have it Synced with My Computer. I have t-mobile usaHTC HD2. I open up HSPL3 thing. Press next. And its says its trying to connect via USB. stays stuck on that, then gives me an error message?
what am i doing wrong?
I HAVE 2.10.000 on my phone i just bought it. CAN I STILL flash my phone to get a custom rom????
anybody please, 2.10 i hear there is nothing out yet for 2.10 ?
for hspl... (yes it supports 2.10.0000, , dont forget that much of what you are reading was written before hspl3 was released)
1 - dont use a front mounted usb port, use one around back of the pc, directly connected to teh motherboard, not through a hub or case mounted ports.
2 - be sure and right click hspl.exe and choose 'run as administrator
3 - boot into bootloader yourself (start with phone off, press and hold and keep holding vol down, tap and release power, , when get to coloured screen, release vol down, , thats bootloader, ,) connect to usb, when the word 'serial' becomes 'usb' run hspl (as administrator)
keep trying usb ports.
if you are trying to use a virtual box, for example on a mac, , , dont.
oh, and be sure to extract hspl.exe, dont run it from within the .zip file.
thanks sam i got it, i love you.. now just gotta flash to get the rom

You cant unless you..
a) Want WM6.5
b) Have CWR already flashed (For Android)
If your USB is broken you will need to get it fixed or get a new HD2.

You will need to place leo.image onto microsim assuming you have card reader which you will need since your usb is dead.
Then hold volume up and down whilst briefly pressing power on button. Then boot up from microsim which has leo image on it.
Do a search here on xda forums. Lots of posts on this form of rebooting..
Good luck..

What the hell are you talking about??
a) its leoimg.nbh not "leo.image"
b) Its MicroSD not "microsim"
c) You dont hold volume up "and" down, you JUST hold volume "down".
d) You dont boot "from" the image you flash using it.
People like you just confuse n00bs more.
Hello everybody,
I have a refurbished HTC HD2 (sent to me by HTC) that is stuck on a white screen. However, I can get it to a green, blue red and white screen by holding down the volume button and turning it on. I haven't installed anything except a twitter application 2 weeks ago. I was on an interview for a internship and my phone all of the sudden made a loud noise and the screen when black. When I reset it, the screen turned white. Did I brick it? Is there anyway to make my phone work? I am so scared!

Hi,
If you can get the tri-color bootloader screen,it is not bricked.
From there you can start to re-install everything.
I hope you made frequent back ups, because you may not be able to retrieve your data.
Hi candrade,

I also get a blank white screen. I can enter Bootloader mode but when I connect the device to my PC via USB, the word 'Serial' at the bottom of the screen doesn't change to 'USB'. I've also tried both soft and hard resets, with no luck.
Best of luck trying to resolve the issue. If you do manage to make any progress then please post it on here.

Hi,
If your serial is not changing to usb, maybe your pc/laptop is lacking the correct drivers.
Use ActiveSync for XP and WMDC for Windows 7.

You only need the Activesync/WMDC drivers if the phone is fully booted up into WinMo. It is completely different drivers when connected in Bootloader Mode. Even with no drivers installed the 'Serial' will change to 'USB' just be the very nature of initiating the communication with the PC.

In order of known problems:
USB cable either not a data cable (only a power cable) or faulty - solution try another cable.
Front USB Connectors on PCs - solution, try the rear USB connector or if possible another PC.
Faulty USB on the the phone - I had the same problem with an HTC Diamond.
Corrupted Bootloader, thus the phone won't communicate with its internal USB controller.
I am still having trouble
How do you do it exactly? I'm sorry phones/computers is not my thing.
Also, are there any atlernatives to using activesync/WMDC? So sorry for all the questions!

How do you do it exactly? I'm sorry phones/computers is not my thing.
Also, are there any atlernatives to using activesync/WMDC? So sorry for all the questions!

You don't need Activesync or WMDC if you connect the phone to the computer in Bootloader Mode.
The easiest method is to download the ROM from HTC's website (this guarantees that you are getting the correct ROM for your phone). Rename the .exe file to .zip, then extract the .nbh file. Rename that .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
Copy that file to the root of a FAT32 formatted microSD Card (less than 8GB in size).
Place the SD Card in the HD2.
Put the phone into Bootloader mode. It will then pick up the ROM and install it.
Oh no so this won't work with a Scan Disk 16 gb I take it? And do I put the scan disk into the computer downloading the rom?
And bootloader mode is the multicolored screen correct?
Sorry, totally computer/phone illiterate!
THANKS SO MUCH!

Yes, Bootloader is the muulticoloured screen.
You can buy or borrow a 1 or 2GB microSD Card with a either a USB adaptor or micro to SD adaptor and SD to USB adaptor. Most laptops and lots of desktops come with built-in SD Card readers.
Did your HD2 not come with a 2GB SD Card?
Of course not :/ came with a really small 16gb ...I'll have to buy it from like Best buy or something?
