Android on MSM7225 Processor

Guyz,
First of all sorry to put this thread here. I know this is for android software. But i think this is only the place where i can get more people have sharp knowledge about android and kernel.
The problem is we are having a phone that is "HTC MEGA" with MSM7225 processor. We want to port android on this phone. But due to proper knowledge of android kernel it is bit hard for us.
WHAT WE HAVE IN OUR HAND NOW:------
1) Patched "haret.exe" for MSM7225.
2) A some of $87 in hand (we will collect up to $280 by Saturday of coming week.)
Thats all.
Now we need help of you guys. If anybody has any short of knowledge and know how to make it happen. They are most welcome.
Visit here you may help us http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=539
Thank you.

Got a dead Tab you'd be willing to donate? Help out devs in creating super dev Tabs!

Came across this thread in another forum, I am not affiliated with the devs, and am just spreading the word:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236273
In a nutshell, they've developed a method that can be used to create an unbrickable device on anything with a Cortex A8 processor in it (such as our Galaxy Tabs) by means of a custom bootloader.
This isn't for end-users, as it requires a hardware modification, but instead is targeted at devs, because by creating an unbrickable device, devs will be freed to try to port all sorts of craziness (Bada, WP7, iOS) onto our Tabs and other A8 devices, just like the famous HTC HD2.
They've already succeeded on the Captivate, and have put out a call looking for people that would be willing to donate a busted Tab.
Think of the possibilities! Quad-booting Galaxy Tabs running Android, WP7, iOS, and Ubuntu! If you've got a busted Tab kicking around, donate it for the good of all! This is the spirit of XDA!

B70/B80 unrooted? Let's Donate to the Devs!

Nevermind, it's DONE!

Hi people,
I've seen many people like me, sad to know after buying this great device that it is as up this moment "unrootable" and therefore cannot be customized with custom ROMs and custom Kernels. Most of them on this thread.
I exchanged this message with brk the dev responsible to the topic:

Just out of curiosity, what do you and other developers need to unlock the bootloader? Do you depend on sources from Asus/Nvidia or is just plain basic reverse engeneering and testing?
I don't want to put pressure or anything like that, just trying to understand why SBK v1 is possible to bypass/ or open and the new one is not.

The dev who made this rooting method is working in breaking the new SBK, the major problem that he and his team have is that they don't own a B70 or B80 with new SBK Asus eee pad transformer, so it's difficult for them to test things since they don't have where to test them. They aren't going to buy a new transformer just to find a way to root, they are trying to find some kind of solution.
The lastest news is that it seam that the old nvflash binary doen't work with the new sbk, they are trying to modify the binary so ti can work with new sbk.

After his response I decided to create a thread to help the devs buying a new Transformer with the new SBK v2 so they can help us all. Please consider that they are trying hard to do it but they lack of a current device to test and debug it (here http://androidroot.mobi/2011/10/03/...r-yet-another-post-about-the-current-state/):

No, we haven’t given up or: Yet another post about the current state
Hi, been a while since our last post…
Rumors are starting to surface that indicates that we have given up on working on this. This is by no means the case. We are still hard at work. Things are definitely taking longer than expected.
There is one main issue:
The BootROM in B70+ devices has been bumped to a newer revision. Nvflash works by sending a miniloader to the device, which then handles receiving the actual bootloader.bin. The miniloader included in current nvflash binaries appears to crash well before the bootloader.bin is sent.
So, how do we move on?
Well, I hate to say it, but I really need to get my hands on a new SBK device (B70 or B80). Bricked is OK. As long as APX mode works over USB, it’s ok. Heck, even a broken screen is OK.
Requirements:
- Cheap
- APX Mode works
- Within EU
- Can charge ok
- Cheap
There’s no requirement that any accessories are included. I already have a B50 TF with working charger.

So please, let's unite and DONATE TO THEM!!!!
Let's help the devs so they can help the community!
Here's the link to their donation page: http://androidroot.mobi/donations/
I'll organize a list here so we can see all donators.
While I'm sure they appreciate the sentiment, rayman has said that he doesn't like the idea of a donation fund in one of the comments on the latest androidroot.mobi post. (I can't post links yet)
^ he's right. said he'd rather borrow one then accept donations. good try though
ahh here it is: Per Rayman
"While I appreciate the idea of setting up a donation fund, it’s not really realistic. Even if all the money came in, taking donations for specific things in advance creates expectations. I’m fairly certain we can crack this, but who knows what issues might arise as we get further.
Wrt. borrowing, that’s probably the best solution. Getting people to execute code is too complex to be a viable solution.
If any of you danish guys offering to lend me a b80 lives in the copenhagen area shoot me an email at rayman android root.mobi"
Keep 'em coming
I am the recipient of a lovely, un-rootable B70 and I donated a few bucks to show my support (5 bucks, ain't much, but if we got a LOT of those small donations, these guys can make things happen.) It's like the price of a sandwich, you know? It's not too fair to ***** and moan that you got a raw deal, and then expect someone else to solve your dillema.
Come on, if you need the devs to make things possible, and you have no technical contribution, at least donate waht you can. It could mean the dif between waiting 2 more moths, or actually seeing this soon.
Well.. even if they do not want it, it's certainly a good incentive anyways.. I think it wont hurt them right?

Lg GT540 - unbricking with JTGAG - help

This is my first post here so I am not sure if this is the correct place to put it... please bear with me.
So it's all about an LG GT540. The phone is bricked (impossible to activate download mode). I thought that maybe I could use it to play a little and experiment on it. So I am thinking of attempting to unbrick it with JTAG. However, I am a total noob and need some advice... I am aware of the fact that I need to do a lot of reading before I get it to work, but first of all I need to know what I need for the recovery. What are all the components required? Maybe a system board like the one attached... But then what? Please help... I just need a starting point so that I can start educating myself...
PS: I am on a tight budget on this one... I saw a video on youtube of a phone getting unlocked with a JTAG/RIFF box, but this is hardcore stuff with hardcore price...
PS2: Sorry of the typo in the thread title.. I mean JTAG of course...
If you're on a budget, I would suggest contacting a repair service that already has the equipment.
It's an expensive investment that makes sense for a business, but not so much for a person at home unless they're very, very into it has a hobby and don't mind spending the money on an expensive toy.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (SM-T230/SM-T230NU) ROM Development (Help Needed)

Dear owners of the 2014 degas/wifi tablets, a team is forming to help make your old device run like new again. We unfortunately may not be able to guarantee an Android version upgrade but a performance upgrade instead. Now, as of the last year or so, there has been a group (Will not be named for reasons) claiming they have been creating ROMs for the device that are new editions of Android or similar to the newer versions. I’m here to say that they have been deceiving you the entire time. But this forthcoming team will not do so and will give the 4-year-old tab some love like it needed a long time ago.
Though, unfortunately, the team being assembled only has two members at the moment. We are in need of more experienced/inexperienced people to help develop this upcoming ROM/s. Though, if this isn’t your thing but you have a tab to help with testing, that would be an excellent help to us as well.
Some criteria for people applying is:
+ You own or have a SM-T230/NU tablet that you will have for the entirety of your assistance
+ You have your own PC to help develop (Or if testing, have a PC to flash the ROMs onto your device)
+ When developing, the latest version of Xubuntu (18.04, Bionic Beaver) is highly recommended to install in order to help us. (If you have any questions if your PC specs are good enough for development, please message me.)
+ You have a Discord or are willing to create one in order to communicate with us. (XDA doesn’t have voice chat and would be too slow for this kind of development)
We will be actually developing ROMs/mods for this tablet. Not taking others work and making slight adjustments and then claiming it to be ours! That is stealing and that is not what our group is about. If you have any questions about anything in this post, please comment below or message me.
I've tab for testing, but unfortunately that is where my skills end.
That’s alright!
Please message me privately so I can set you up with helping us further with this.
Moderator Edit:
All "discussions" must be kept on XDA and in public - collaboration happens here.. Or use our Discord Channel...
Thanks
