Two days ago, I downloaded the Device Update Support Tool 1.2 from the Official Samsumg site (Omnia 7, support --> software).
Currently I am running NoDo, not jailbroken etc.
Every time I go into download mode, and connect to the device update tool, it tells me there is a binary update available. Is this the patch they released to let Omnia 7 users update to NoDo? Is that why it tells me everytime I connect that there is a binary update available (since I already have NoDo, I didn't install any patch or something).
Share your thoughts!
same for me........what can i do ?
I have no idea what the binary update implies, but I sorta guess it's the patch released to let users update to NoDo.

Hi XDA,
i'm experiencing a not very cool no-update
I just go to the check OS update screen on my G2 and I can see a "Android Update 1.5" (4.2Mb)
I push the download button, it DL well and ... I can't install it ! The Download button is here again with the "Android Update 1.5" (Reboot required but the reboot actually does nothing)
I root my G2, but don't know if it's the reason of this
The very not cool part is that my version is CRB17 ... So the update isn't done !
Please help me, Donut is coming !
Is this a new update released today?
No it's an old one ...
No one had this problem before ?
Hard reset doesn't resolve the problem, stills stuck on displaying "Android Update 1.5" 4.2Mb, the phone doesn't ask me to install after I download it
Update Problem
I have this exact same problem on my rooted UK Voda Magic. No solution but one question. How do you know the update has not been applied you referred to the CRB17 number, my build number is exactly the same but the firmware version reads as 1.5. What is the latest build number????
The FW is firmed with releasekeys and if you flashed a custom recovery it won't accept it.
Cant Update
Any way around this particular problem? Does this also mean when donut is released we will be unable to update through the "update feature" on the phone?
So nobody has any suggestions, is there another recovery version which we could flash that would allow updates? Or maybe un root update and re root? I am assuming this problem will prevent me from updating to 1.6 when it is released.
I'm trying to update my phone's software to the new Android 2.1 for Sprint. Sprints website tells me to go to Settings > About Phone > System updates > HTC Software Update. I follow through this process, however when I get into Software Update I do not have the option for HTC Software Update. I've tried running the firmware updater and it says no new firmware. Anyone know how to get this option to appear?
If it helps I'm running the Stock 1.56 rom and have it rooted.
My software version is 1.56.651.2.
Thanks!
You will have to download the Official RUU from HTC or and Sprint and run it on a PC connected to the phone. The 2.1 update is not an OTA update. This will unroot your phone, to keep root, there are versions in the Development section that keep root intact.
The 2.1 update was not available OTA, you have to download the RUU which is kind of a PITA but I would prefer it that way. Then they can't force the update on you.
go over to the dev threads, find the one about root 2.1
The second post has the correct RUU downloads to be able to get 2.1 and root.
There has been an update released OTA since 2.1 was released - to attempt to patch our root exploit. Make sure you do the bottom part of the root method about disabling your ota certs.
So, I was eagered to update my phone with the new SFR-FR update, got it all set.
It started all with the 8018001E error I got when trying to update to this update, so I thought I would just leave it, and I changed my carrier to 000-88.
Then I saw there was another method to update, with the WP7 Cab Sender and the update as a .cab file. Tried this one out when I was still being debranded (000-88), this time the installation failed with error 80180011.
Then (oh dear), I downloaded the Samsung Update Tool from the Omnia 7 support page, and installed a update (or something). Now I tried the official way again (changing carrier to SFR-FR, then Zune update), this time I got the 80180097 error! Yes its raining errors today.
After the Samsung Update Tool thingy, my phone couldn't connect to any network, or sometimes it's connecting to my KPN network for a few moments.
I am tired of this all, all I wanted was to install a few OEM updates, now I end up with this. Can anyone help me out? Really appreciated!

If you have a look around the FF app you will see that they do actually make you aware that under emui4 there are no problems.
However they go on to inform you that you might experience bugs using the app under emui5....such as 'couldn't install', 'unauthorised', 'deleting the zip files...'. Basically the issues you have been experiencing. I manage to update to b360 selecting without wifi via proxy and it was essentially for a different region!?! But, hey it worked.
But like you even though there are newer updates I get the same problems now and the updated have been available for several weeks...
B361 and security patch is 1st MARCH!!

update it through the asus website. even i had issues with my FOTA update, when ever i went to my system updates it used to say its up-to-date and then after a while i got a notification saying FOTA stopped working or failed. I contacted the Asus customer support and they said to update it manually by downloading the file from the website. I just mainly wanted the update for the camera2api. Manually installing the updates works. I think the FOTA is bugged or something.
Heres the link
https://www.asus.com/in/Phone/Zenfone-Max-Pro-M2-ZB630KL/HelpDesk_BIOS/
go to the BIOS and Firmware tab and download the file named "Version WW-16.2017.1903.064". This is the indian variant.
transfer it to the internal storage of your device and unplug the device from your laptop. as soon as you unplug you should be getting a notification saying a new update has been found. click it. it will first verify and unpack the file before installing the update.
THE FILE SHOULD BE TRANSFERRED TO YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE, NOT YOUR SD CARD!!!
Hope this solves your issue!
