Try flashing a new ROM, but one which wipes all your data such as those of samfirmware.com or a one of Intratech's thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 ) which expressly says that will wipe your phone.
Please follow Intratech's guide. I'm not responsible for anything that you may do wrong. Do it on your own risk!
From what I've worked out from my past mistakes it is your pin lock
And it is contained somewhere in ur efs folder. I know this asvI lost my IMEI and it never asked for my pin but as soon as I got it back I had to enter it again. Good luck on your quest
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Whatever you set the pin unlock to is the password.

i just bought my new X1 and while i was doing the setting i set up a password
and the next day i forgot it ...
can anyone help me with reseting it ??
please help ..
Try a hard reset to set it back to factory state, but you'll lose any information and programs that you've installed since you bought it. You can search the forums if you don't know how.
Just in case you don't know how to hard reset without access to the phone, hold both buttons on the front and then push the stylus into the reset button under the battery cover.
opps, that was careless....
thank you very much ..
i thought there is other way than hard reset ...
but finally i did it ..
thanks and you were very helpful guys ..

if that was possible, don't you think it will be useless to setup a password in the device?

excuse me but u have a wrong idea .
can you tell me if you forgot your pc's password, there is no way except you format it ??!!
for windows ?!!
even if you set a password on the BIOS there is a way to open it, right ?
thanks again
You can use endless exploits to sam hashes to get back into a lock pc but winmo ... not sure.
sure there is a way,
but!
no one knows it!
Hard reset it mate, i think it's the best (and fastest) way to use your phone again.
good luck
So I was setting up my device yesterday and enabled fingerprint unlocking and choose a pattern unlock and written password as backup options.
When I restarted my phone, in order to unlock the phone it stated to use pattern unlock to protect fingerprint scanning after reboots (something of that nature).
Problem is for some reason I cannot figure out the pattern to unlock (I'm sure im using the one i set in place) and I cannot use my written password to unlock either, it's just by pattern.
So am I locked out of my phone and don't know what to do. I'm trying to do a factory reset to see if that'll work.
But I also flashed twrp and noticed that this model cannot be rooted so i left the custom recovery as it is. I do not want to swipe right to "allow modifications" as I heard if I do not install the right files it might be stuck in a continuous loop. So I clicked on Keep Read Only. When I try to wipe it keeps on telling me it's failed is it due to being in read only (I also don't see any of the contents on my internal storage)?
Should I flash the stock recovery with odin but I cannot find it for this model. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I had this issue recently. The Rogers firmware is pretty near impossible to find. I went on a limb and flashed stock bell firmware and it worked absolutely fine! Give it a shot

Forgot to activate OEM-Unlock for Root. Phone Bricked: "Custom binary blocked by FRP"
Hello,
today i rooted my J5 (SM-J500FN) via Odin and CF-Auto-Root.
Everyting went well but after the root i unticked OEM-Lock (please dont ask me why i did it) and restarted my phone and this nice screen greeted me: "Custom binary blocked by FRP. SECURE FAIL: KERNEL"
So I tried everything I found on the Web and found nothing really helpful. Then i tried flashing the recovery and reflashing CF-Auto-Root but both got blocked in the Download Mode with the message "FRP Block".
Please can someone help me, i really hope i dont have to reset my phone because my google authenticator is stored on it, and it would be a real pain to write to the support of every account i connected to reset my Security Options.
Thanks, Toby
P.S: when i flash the boot.img does it wipe my device?

Try using Smart Switch from Samsung to backup you stuff and accounts. Maybe it will work. Using Smart Switch you can also easily reflash the latest Marshmallow firmware.

I don't know about that... Try asking someine more experienced.
I do know that even in Recovery mode the ROM locks you out and doesn't let you factory reset for example

I did a guide in past: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68408932&postcount=65 . I'll add it to the new Q&A thread after I'll update that thread (when I'll have time).
Feel free to do a new guide.

No it does not. You are not affecting the data partition.
This would only happen if you flashed the factory repair firmware.
Thank you all. Here is my Guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/complete-guide-to-rid-custom-binary-t3541403
It is generally for all (Samsung) Smarphones as i believe that it wont be any different.

Happy for you ^^
When activating the oem unlock you can install Twrp, kernel or custom rom without the activation of FRP security that is activated when you establish a security pattern in the device
When the binary is blocked by the FRP you must install the factory firmware, then enter the recovery and do a factory reset since the FRP prevents external access to the system and data as prevention
You will be prompted for the email and password of the previously used account

You only need to enter your login details if you factory reset.
Flashing the stock firmware is enough to remove frp. No need to factory reset.

Copy system app named " FindDevice.apk " to InternalStorage or something where (I mean backup it first). Then, delete the original from twrp.
Someone told me like this. If the others have another way, write that here. It would be helpful for them.

Removing sim card seems work. But, people cant turnoff their data when they still on SetupWizard. Data reset would be the same. Because, miui recognized a build number and imei.

Hello, can someone give some insight, My GF forgot her patern password.. I tried to enter the wrong pattern and possible correct one.. over 50+ times.
It did not prompt to enter her Gmail info to unlock via email..
How can I backup her videos and pics before I hard reset, please?

Search about it on Google. I am afraid that you can't backup anything now.
My friends had the same problem and he had to hard reset. He couldn't backup anything.
