I'm running fresh 4.2. I flash that because I wanted to use.the hdmi port for sense. But the only problem is the whiteout video on you tube. Everything works including netflix except for the video on YouTube just white screen with sound working fine.

Is your question about Froyo kernel on a Gingerbread ROM?
I don't know but isn't nertarchy 4.3.4 sense kerenel?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Try one of the GB kernels with the hdmwin enhancement in it...like freedom v9 by lithid...
Also to reply to your YouTube issue in the OP, if the GB kernel doesn't solve it, uninstall and reinstall flash player and YouTube...just a thought.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with CM7 and VPlayer? It plays my videos (avi container, mp4/xvid/etc) but randomly hangs and drops me back to the file browser. I've downloaded Rockplayer in the meantime, but I paid for VPlayer because the quality and smooth playback of the video files I use (on stock ROM) was superior to everything else on the market. So I'm torn between sticking with Rock, and going flash crazy to try and reconcile the ONE issue I'm having with CM7. Any ideas?
Trial Log:
Cleared data from app manager, cleared caches, rebooted, set the CPU back to 1017, up to 1400, min up to 368, changed every setting in VPlayer.
Try updating to cm7 build 27, see if that helps.

Yeah I tried that just now. Same result. Maybe a kernel issue? Rock player is decent but I notice frame skipping if the scene is too intense (it is easily watchable even so). Mostly just trying to salvage my 3 dollars, but I enjoy CM7 too much to go back.

Ok, I use poweramp and have never had any problems.

I had no idea poweramp plays video files. I have it but see no support for anything but audio. Am I missing something?

Does anyone else have a problem with the YouTube app having audio out of sync with video? I searched online and found no solutions. There is atleast a 1 second delay.

Sent from my GT-i5800 Kyrillo's Rom v3.0 Extreme Edition JPM
Yea, that's a pretty common issue. I have like 0,5s delay in YT, sometimes more with full xvid movies, sometimes no sync problems at all with mvideo player. Most propably that happens due to samsung's audio decoding firmware.
same here and not just with YT it's same with video player too
Does anyone have a fix? Or is it just a case of just reinstalling firmware?
Sent from my GT-i5800 Kyrillo's Rom v3.0 Extreme Edition JPM
Maybe its hardware related, you have.a lot.of.apps opened that uses processor. Try rebooting, also remember we only have 600 MHz and low ram management with Froyo so that could be

It still usually does it after a reboot, but ill try ending unwanted tasks
Sent from my GT-i5800 Kyrillo's Rom v3.0 Extreme Edition JPM
Closed everything in task killer except for launcher pro, rebooted and closed all again. Moved YT app to SD with titanium, dumidnt change anything so moved it back to internal.. still out of sync

So its. The hardware related, there's nothing we can do, maybe overclocking the cpu
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
ya it does seem a hardware issue..
The stock video player played some vids out of sync for me...but i switched to mvideoplayer...didnt face that issue since then....
Today I updated Flash and tried You Tube HD flash clip, and it flies like crazy WOW!!! And FULL HD1080p is now chopy like 720p before this update.
I'm impressed, since I saw HD flash playback on SGS 2, I thought that SGS reached it's limit. I was so wrong
Will check for a flash update.

got this update since yesterday but haven't tested it yet with hd material. going to try this out tonight. I'll let you guys know if there are any improvements.
Works wonders, 720p is as smooth as on a SGS2 now
edit: Stock rom, completely bone stock JVB
Same for me. 720p good, 1080p no fun.
Looking at the changelog, it seems like they've added hardware acceleration.
Is it only on gingerbread, or also on froyo 2.2.1?
Yh, 720p works flawlessly.
Im on the deodex stock JVB rom with chainfire 3.1 kernal.
Went on youtube (desktop version) using Opera Mobile web browser.
Before it didnt allow you to change the quality but now you can.

I think it depends on if the browser supports hardware acceleration and I dont think the stock android browser does. Opera Mobile does.
I have just watched some vids with the new flash player and it seems really smooth.
I'm running js5 so froyo 2.2.1 is faster too.
Maybe there isn't even hardware acceleration.
In the market they say something about 3.0 (android 3.0 -> honeycomb).
But whatever, it doesn't matter how they did it.
It matters that they did it.
Those two videos posted are slideshows on cm7 browser/opera. Even at 1.5ghz oc

Must mean it only works in 2.3 then, the gingerbread roms are pretty good now, its worth considering
Yeah the market description says hardware acceleration in android 3, if it also works in 2.3 that would be awesome. I'm leaning towards taking the plunge with the next kitchen update, either that or wait until 2.3.4 comes out (in May?).
Someone run a flash benchmark

Yeah, that's a problem of all the ICS roms so far...
When I first installed ICS l it wasn't working for me, but with onecosmic's rc2 everything is fine. Videos are beautiful now.

Which kernel are you using? I'm in RC2.11 with glitch kernel, and the video recording is a bit choppy..
Choppy video recording has always been a known issue with CyanogenMod for the SGS. This includes teamhacksung's ICS (which is really CM9), MIUI (based on CM7), and any other custom ROMs that may be based on CM7.
I am using the latest MIUI rom from the development section. There is a problem with the flash. When I play YouTube in browser, I get sound but not video. It starts working if I make it 240p. This is a problem because I use an app called flash video browser that let's you watch hulu and stuff. The audio works but not video. It worked on other rooms like coredroid.

Try taking the flash files from an older MIUI rom that worked and putting them onto the New development one? It's a shot in the dark and it's a long shot at that, so long shot in the dark; don't plan on a hit, but eh. What's it gonna hurt?
Try using an older version of flash player. Although if I recall, flash was always kinda buggy for me on miui even with said fix.
