YouTube audio/video out of sync. - Galaxy 3 General

Does anyone else have a problem with the YouTube app having audio out of sync with video? I searched online and found no solutions. There is atleast a 1 second delay.

No one has this problem at all?? ....

Yea, that's a pretty common issue. I have like 0,5s delay in YT, sometimes more with full xvid movies, sometimes no sync problems at all with mvideo player. Most propably that happens due to samsung's audio decoding firmware.

same here and not just with YT it's same with video player too

Does anyone have a fix? Or is it just a case of just reinstalling firmware?

Maybe its hardware related, you have.a lot.of.apps opened that uses processor. Try rebooting, also remember we only have 600 MHz and low ram management with Froyo so that could be

It still usually does it after a reboot, but ill try ending unwanted tasks
Sent from my GT-i5800 Kyrillo's Rom v3.0 Extreme Edition JPM

Closed everything in task killer except for launcher pro, rebooted and closed all again. Moved YT app to SD with titanium, dumidnt change anything so moved it back to internal.. still out of sync

So its. The hardware related, there's nothing we can do, maybe overclocking the cpu

ya it does seem a hardware issue..

The stock video player played some vids out of sync for me...but i switched to mvideoplayer...didnt face that issue since then....

[Q] CM7 (26) and VPlayer?

Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with CM7 and VPlayer? It plays my videos (avi container, mp4/xvid/etc) but randomly hangs and drops me back to the file browser. I've downloaded Rockplayer in the meantime, but I paid for VPlayer because the quality and smooth playback of the video files I use (on stock ROM) was superior to everything else on the market. So I'm torn between sticking with Rock, and going flash crazy to try and reconcile the ONE issue I'm having with CM7. Any ideas?
Trial Log:
Cleared data from app manager, cleared caches, rebooted, set the CPU back to 1017, up to 1400, min up to 368, changed every setting in VPlayer.
Try updating to cm7 build 27, see if that helps.

Yeah I tried that just now. Same result. Maybe a kernel issue? Rock player is decent but I notice frame skipping if the scene is too intense (it is easily watchable even so). Mostly just trying to salvage my 3 dollars, but I enjoy CM7 too much to go back.

Ok, I use poweramp and have never had any problems.

I had no idea poweramp plays video files. I have it but see no support for anything but audio. Am I missing something?

[Q] Can't play any trailers on Movie/Flixster app

I have a stock EB13 that has been rooted via oneclickroot cwm 2.5.5 - no roms or kernels except stock, the only that I have done is install the camera/video lag fix
Question, I have and identical setup (same apps, launcher, etc) of my Epic on my Samsung Moment that I keep as a spare. I don't know when it happened, possibly after my froyo upgrade, but I have an app called Movie, and when I open it, it says Flixster.
My Moment with eclair 2.1 and "when" my Epic was on elcair 2.1, they both could play the movie trailers from that app, but now that my Epic has froyo 2.2.1, it cannot play any movie trailers from that app- it simply says it cannot play video, now I was able to have my Epic play one movie trailer right after I flashed the EB13 camera/video lag fix. I thought that was the problem so I flashed it again, but it didn't work. So it's got to be a software glitch, but from what app? Was it the camera/video lag patch. I could always go back I guess to stock kernal with the bad code in it and see. I hope it is not froyo that is the cause.
Can anybody with an Epic with froyo 2.2.1 try and play a movie trailer if they have that app and let me know if it works? - fyi, it is a very nice app if you do not have it.
All other media functions, for that matter everything else works perfect on my Epic.
Thanks!
i have the same exact problem and just deleted my post on this after i saw yours....
i have no idea what to do...i used this app quite a bit as well....
funny how nobody on the Market is complaining about this not working with Froyo....maybe there is an apk that the Syndicate rom excludes, that Flixster is looking for?
not sure
On eb13, have not flashed a replacement kernel for the camera fix. Just watched 2 trailers no problem.
try clearing app data?

I actually did the camera patch fix on my stock kernel, I wonder if that is the cause of it although I saw the code of the patch and can't see how it would have affected it.
Anyways, I can play any movie or trailer on my browser and apps that are like Flixster.
Clearing what app data? - if you mean Flixster itself, that I haven't tried, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a few times with the same no play results - you would think uninstalling would in a way erase the app data?
I have been able to make it play a few times out of like 10 tries - but that is not acceptable to me, especially since my phone works perfect in every other way - oh well, at least I have replacement type apps that do the same function. Its just I was so use to Flixster - I used it all the time
Try going to settings -applications- manage apps - Movies - clear data. Then try to view a trailer again.

same problem was working after updated rom but i think after adobe flash update now don't work. imdb same thing don't play trailers

Flash 10.2.157.51 on SGS eats HD flash for breakfast

Today I updated Flash and tried You Tube HD flash clip, and it flies like crazy WOW!!! And FULL HD1080p is now chopy like 720p before this update.
I'm impressed, since I saw HD flash playback on SGS 2, I thought that SGS reached it's limit. I was so wrong
Will check for a flash update.

got this update since yesterday but haven't tested it yet with hd material. going to try this out tonight. I'll let you guys know if there are any improvements.
Works wonders, 720p is as smooth as on a SGS2 now
edit: Stock rom, completely bone stock JVB
Same for me. 720p good, 1080p no fun.
Looking at the changelog, it seems like they've added hardware acceleration.
Is it only on gingerbread, or also on froyo 2.2.1?
Yh, 720p works flawlessly.
Im on the deodex stock JVB rom with chainfire 3.1 kernal.
Went on youtube (desktop version) using Opera Mobile web browser.
Before it didnt allow you to change the quality but now you can.

I think it depends on if the browser supports hardware acceleration and I dont think the stock android browser does. Opera Mobile does.
I have just watched some vids with the new flash player and it seems really smooth.
I'm running js5 so froyo 2.2.1 is faster too.
Maybe there isn't even hardware acceleration.
In the market they say something about 3.0 (android 3.0 -> honeycomb).
But whatever, it doesn't matter how they did it.
It matters that they did it.
Those two videos posted are slideshows on cm7 browser/opera. Even at 1.5ghz oc

Must mean it only works in 2.3 then, the gingerbread roms are pretty good now, its worth considering
Yeah the market description says hardware acceleration in android 3, if it also works in 2.3 that would be awesome. I'm leaning towards taking the plunge with the next kitchen update, either that or wait until 2.3.4 comes out (in May?).
Someone run a flash benchmark

sound stuttering issue

I have been using my X8 for over a month now. So far I have only one major issue that annoys me, which is the random stuttering of music playback. I tried Froyobread as well as GingerDX, both have the same issue.
The only *solution* so far is that to use the performance governor which locks the CPU clock freq. at 600MHz.
I did some google searching and saw that for Xperia X10 there is a patch to fix this similar problem. I wonder if there is one for our X8. Thanks!
I've noticed this for awhile and haven't found a fix it also happens when playing videos but I thought it was something to do with reading from the memory card cause it don't seem to happen when the music or video is getting streamed from the net but when you save it it will start happening again
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
I use a Class 4 8GB card. I don't think it has anything to do with the memory card because if I set the CPU to full speed the issue is gone.
I went back to the stock 2.1 rom and now finally the music playback goes smoothly.
For this reason I will not try any other 2.2 or 2.3 rom again.
I had this problem before using froyobread. When i used gingerdx i formatted my card too and now the issue is gone. Btw im using a class 2 8gb card using mixzing playing 320kbps and flac files

got something to do with sd card read cache?
Same problem ive encounter on gingerdx but the performance using gingerdx is superb.

Maybe. But I never formatted my sd card and it has a LOT of songs in it. With stock 2.1 rom it is just a pleasure to enjoy the music. With FroyoBread or GingerDX the music playback is unusable.

Netarchy 4.3.4 video problem

I'm running fresh 4.2. I flash that because I wanted to use.the hdmi port for sense. But the only problem is the whiteout video on you tube. Everything works including netflix except for the video on YouTube just white screen with sound working fine.

Is your question about Froyo kernel on a Gingerbread ROM?
I don't know but isn't nertarchy 4.3.4 sense kerenel?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Try one of the GB kernels with the hdmwin enhancement in it...like freedom v9 by lithid...
Also to reply to your YouTube issue in the OP, if the GB kernel doesn't solve it, uninstall and reinstall flash player and YouTube...just a thought.
