All since I upgraded from 16GB to 32GB, my Xperia PLAY has developed a new bad habit - it forgets my default programs for everything every time I either restart or connect my phone.
...so I have to reset my default browser back to Opera, default movie player to MoboPlayer... default music to PlayerPro... etc, etc, etc... every time I restart my phone or connect it to my PC to transfer stuff.
It's a minor bother... but a bother nonetheless.
I don't think it has anything to do with the sd card... I actually have the same problem but not everyone I restart phone...

I did the same upgrade and have the same problem but not sure if it is because of root or firmware updates. I never linked it to the 32Gb upgrade but maybe you are right. If you still have not formated the old card can you test if the 16gb has no problem for sure? Thanks in advance if you figure it out.
I recently upgraded from 16GB to 32GB and do not have this problem but maybe there is a reason. What I did was (and I did this when swapping the stock 8GB card to my 16GB one) is make sure to name the volume the same as what was in there (in this case its PHONE CARD). Might be worth a shot?

I have a very weird problem that is bugging me no end! I tried putting some new media files on my xda today various wmv music and video files. Thing is they play ok then all of a sudden the xda freezes and I have to reset it. Then subsequently every file that I've loaded on today will freeze the xda. All others I've loaded on play fine. The only thing I've done since I last loaded any media files on is upgrade the Rom to the version 1.06. I've spent most of the day loading these new files on then having to remove them again I've tried loading them one by one they play fine for a while then all of a sudden the xda freezes then I have to delete them all again. It's really bugging me as to why it is doing this. Any ideas will be appreciated
Hmm just tried to open a picture I saved on my memory card that I transferred over today and that freezes my xda too!
You may have a corrupted SD card...that sounds a bit like a problem I used to have with one of my old ones.
I suggest you remove all your data on the card to a folder on your PC desktop, then format the card again on FAT32. If you don't have a card reader, I would suggest using StorageTools (http://www.softwinter.com/storagetools.html) or a similar program.
See if that resolves the issue. If not, it may just be the old problem where trying to read too much data from the card causes the phone to i/o error and effectively drops the card.
Cheers

hey everyone, i just got my blackstone yesterday and after uploading songs both through sync and manually into the storage card, my songs always freezes once i have an amount of about 50 or more. is this the stock firmware problem? is there a way to fix this?
I had that problem too, songs I dragged to the storage card would just stop after a few seconds of playing in AudioManager, or not play at all.
For me it worked better after I started to sync all songs through active sync and media player. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I also just synced about 10 songs at a time and didn't have the audio manager tab open. Because I was scared it would happen again, I didn't put more then 500mb of songs on the storage card yet.
The storage card included with the phone is class2. I wonder, will a class 6 storage card solve these kind of problems better?
Also I wonder, would it help to make a back-up of the AudioManager_Eng.vol after syncing all the songs?
I used to get this on the bog standard crappy Orange ROM that came with the device. It would be fine until I loaded in Santogold by Santogold. Nothing would load after that and if you tried to play anything, it'd freeze up and I'd get an audio manager error or something. In the end, I entered the world of ROM flashing. Has made the phone more usable for sure.
I have the same problem. However, the problem doesn't occur if I bypass the touchflo music interface and use the Windows Media Player that came with it.

Hi,
Just noticed this last night. I haven't taken the card out at all in months but it now comes up as not found and I can't load any programs installed on it.
It's a SanDisk 16Gb microSD card and has been fine ever since i got the phone back in November or December. If i take it out and put it back, it does show up for a minute and then drops off again, any ideas?
I can still play songs on it on the Windows Media once it's been taken out and put back in and videos still play etc, so the content of the card seems fine, and with over 12Gb of music and programs, I don't want to reformat it and am not convinced that is even the issue.
Anyone had a similar problem that knows the fix? I have a feeling this is the phone at fault. The only thing I have done differently with the phone of late is to use it as a WiFi router, which does work very well for those that haven't tried it. Just wondering if that has cooked the phone as it does get pretty warm, but that said, all Opera 9 and the other functions still all work ok.
All help appreciated.
Thanks
I am having the same issue with my 8GB SanDisk microSD.
I would use a card reader and try to transfer all the files off and then reformat the card. My card has already corrupted and it is only 2 weeks old.

Hi guys
I got the same problem today...with my T-mobile HD2 used for 3 months.
This is the first time I met this problem and exactly the same with what you describled above. After insert, I got a minute to run program on SD but then it disappeared again. I tried soft reset several times but had the same problem.
P.S. I use a 8GB microSD, not the one in package......
I have an HD2 running a recent version of Energy ROM. Everything is working fine, unless I try to put some music on the SD card. I have about 7.5 GB of music I want to put on there but every time I do the phone starts having random freezes. I though it might be the phone trying to index the music and knowing that the default card that comes with the phone is not very fast I went and bought a class 6 card as a replacement, but the problem persists. Anyone have any fixes/suggestions?

That can be caused by many things. First 2 I would check is make sure the folder structure is right Artist name/album/Mp3 & art if that is right I would check to make sure your mp3 tags are right. A search will lead you to a program to check your ID3 tags.
i had the same problem with music on my hd2, the way i fixed mine was to flash the evo rom on to it and the problem has never come back.
Hello i just bought this amazing phone after coming from Note 5 with android 6.0.1, and it really bugs me that all the bugs i had in 6.0.1 are still there.
The first one is wierd performance in some 3D games, mainly talking about angry birds 2 that slows down after playing for a bit, same happens on Note 5 on 6.0.1 but NOT in lollipop.
Audio cuts in half when playing games, it seems like a new gameservice feature, so far to combat it and the weird color change when launching a game, is to disable the gameservice via package disable pro.
Some animations are not smooth and either too fast or too slow.
What bugs did u encounter?
The Play Store is super slow when I'm on wifi, but every other app functions just fine... it's driving me nuts because I can't download my apps or update anything without burning through my data.

every Android phone have slow Play store since it`s not using cache.
I had 2 issues (well 3) but not sure its Android 6 or Samsung Phone issues:
a) I had to try 3 different microSD cards till one worked - they keep showing up as corrupted (even tho they work ok in other devices) i noticed the bigger the SD storage is the worse it performs (had to use a 16GB as the 64GB Samsung card didnt work - the phone would see it but wont let me create or move any files on it
b) probably a result of the a) issue - as my camera had settings to save pix on the SD card - my camera stopped working - everytime i opened it it would say: failed to open
tried everything but only a factory reset fix it
c) the phone got frozen on the weather page and literally nothing was working - no back buttons, up/down buttons, power off - nothing - it stayed like that 15 min until i performed a battery removal simulation (hold volume down and power button for 20 sec)
Other than that ALL ok - screen is weirdly sensitive - sometimes i touch an app and it acts like long touch?!!
A bit scared of these hiccups
I reported to USA support all those issues, as mine local support stinks bad. it seems that camera app is the major complain and have issues with that, a fix probably will be soon and hopefully will eliminate over processing with HDR.
Now i hope they will release fixes asap for all other issues as well.

Are you sure you don't just have a bad phone? Using multiple cards and having issues with all of them seems like there might be a hardware issue with the card reader.

How am I supposed to fix this? I can't set up my phone unless I can use the play store... It's not just the loading information, but also the downloading. I haven't been able to successfully update any Google Apps yet, and I left my phone running overnight

No problem here with my 64gb sandisk microsd. Which speed class do the cards have and additionally which formatting?
But as already said, it may be that the card reader of your device is simply faulty.

No problem with the play store here :/ Have you maybe tried to clear the data of google play services and play store and checked if it's still there?

I've done everything
Cleared caches/data, cleared caches from recovery, factory reset, tested the router, everything.
The WiFi works fine when I browse the Internet or download from Galaxy Apps store.
I've solved the issue to my wifi problem after fiddling around. Turns out my router was relying on the DHCP server to assign IPv6 addresses and there was some sort of issue with that, so I switched it to auto-configuration and now the Play Store works again
Same here

You should check your router settings and make sure it's assigning IPv6 addresses automatically. That was the cause of my issue. It occurred to me after I connected to my university's wifi with no problems.
