[Q] Help "boot verified falied" - Acer Iconia A500

Can anyone help me with my a500,i have a stock 3.1 i update ota 3.2,but i have see that for 3.2 no root avaible and I tried to go back to 3.1 with this rom Acer_A500_0.000.00_1.016.02_COM_GEN1 now the a500 is bricked and if i turn on it i have this text "boot verified falied" please help me

I had this going last night... really honked me off. Turns out they changed the book code a bit so you cant go back.
IF your hard set on going back there is the unbrick method all over the internet but of course it will kill all your data.
OR just goto the updtes/OTA thread here and get the 3.2 update file and pop it on your SDcard and then boot up and reflash the current (not loosing data) and your system will post fine.

Hi my friend i have other 2 question ,waht file i have download and after download i extract update.zip and put on micro sd?The use the stock cwm?

Well I used: Acer_A500_4.010.38_7.006.01_COM_GEN1 and I am thinking the file was already decrypted so was just a matter of renaming it to update.zip and putting it on the sdcard and booting to recovery.

[Q] U8800H - Not booting - No Recovery Mode - Only Bootloader Mode

Hello People,
Firstly I would like to apologize if this is a duplicate post, Googling reveals tons of different documents which actually has confused me and as I have tried many, I don't even know now what have I screwed up.
Phone - U8800H
OS - Linux
I tried to update my phone and it got messed up. It simply won't boot but go in an infinite loop or restarting every 3 seconds (once the HUAWEI logo is displayed).
By pressing both Vol buttons and starting the phone I can go into bootloader mode (pink screen) and the phone drives get mounted. However trying to go to recover mode by pressing the Vol UP key during start up simply again keeps restarting the phone.
I have tried various solutions which include re-downloading the images folder files again, replacing the recover.img from clockwork, formatting that partition and retrying, almost everything.
The phone simply keeps restarting. Replacing or removing any of the file in the images folder gives me a blue screen during going to bootloader mode.
As I cant get to recover mode I don't know what to do.
The warranty of the phone is finished as it was only of three months. I was told by the company I purchased it from to be a "power problem" but I think its a software problem as I messed it up myself.
If anyone has faced such situation before please help.
Thanks.
find original rom and reinstall it.

The original ROM was U8800HV100R001AREC00B135SP01 CUSTC213D001 (Kuwait VIVA). I have downloaded it as well.
However as suggested it asks me to create a dload folder in a formatted SD card with the zipped files within it, and then start the phone in 'recovery mode'. However the phone doesn't start in that mode with the same restarting issue.
One person suggested to create a 'dload' folder in the SD card with no contents in it and then start the phone in 'bootloader' mode and the phone will auto revert to its default firmware. I did as suggested but it didn't work either.
I have the original boot.img that came with the phone. I also downloaded a fresh boot.img (along with the other three files that come in the images folder) but still the same result of restarting during trying to start in 'recover mode'.
It was working fine till I messed it up trying to upgrade it to 2.3 to change the patched wpa_supplicant file to connect to Ad-Hoc networks.
I think I need to change the files required for 'recover mode' to default ones, but I don't know where they reside. Any tutorial in this direction would be great.
Thanks.
My guess is that some of the partitions got messed up somehow, some different filesystems (ext4 over ext3) in 2.3 stock fw.
Have you tried copying update.app to dload-folder of sdcard then booted phone with both vol-down and vol-up pressed (bootloader mode). That should in theory start the update...

Ok then.... because I'm lost... which rom was on!
2.2.1?
or 2.3.?
these are the files needed FIRST....
---------- Post added at 05:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
Ok IF you were on 2.2.... on sdcard make \dload folder with update 2.2 original rom!!!!
Vol+ Vol- Power on...pink screen and it should do the rest!!!
Recovery after you reinstall 2.2!
Now IF you managed to put 2.3... then put 2.3 update in sdcard \dload and again it should do the rest.
If you are trying to come back to 2.2 or miui oxygen cm7 from the beta.... first put the 2.3 beta back on via the sdcard.
I have put the original ROM in 'dload' folder and as suggested I shall have started the phone in 'bootloader' mode now. There is no movement on the screen so I don't know even if its doing something.
How much should I wait or shall I be notified if the update is done ?
Thanks.

Is your folder structure like this
/sd
/sd/dload
/sd/dload/update.app
If it is, then boot to bootloader. you should see it is doing stuff.

I have double checked it again, the structure is 'dload' folder in the root of the memory card and the update.app file in it, still however I don't see any movement in the 'bootloader' mode, just the "pink" screen continuously lit.
What am I doing wrong ?
Thanks.

Pink screens means it didn't work. Your phone isn't mounting the sd-card right in bootloader mode. You could try to put the dload-folder on internal sd-card, should be possible since you're on linux. Think you just need to mount the right partition when connecting your phone via usb when in pinkscreen. I don't recall exactly which partition as I'm using Windows and haven't tried this, but you should be able to find some more info around here by searching a bit...

Hello XDA-Forum!
Same problem here with my u8800
I have original recovery.img but i fd' other files by overwriting them.. (yes i know...)
Now my phone doesen't start flashing and i cant do anything. I was using almost latest version of oxygen mod.
Do i need original files to flash my phone back to stock in image/... floder? And if i need, can i dig version form recovery.img? or might this is problem with partitions? I think oxygen is known by partition problems.

I have tried as you suggested, There were 5 partitions on the phone 2 of which were smaller than 200MB and therefore could not save the update file which is larger in size. I have tried over the remaining three partitions but in vain, they all end up with the same pink screen.
However you might be correct that my phone is not mounting the SD card as I can't see the SD card in the list of mounted drives in the computer.
To put/move files on SD card I have to use my another phone
I will get another SD card and try. In the meanwhile if there is anything else I could try, do advice me.
Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to XDA!
I guess you got the same problem with sd-card not mounting properly if you can't initiate stock flashing via dload-folder-method.
If you search the forums you'll find links to download all files that's needed in the image-folder of pinkscreen-partition. Then you'll hopefully be able to boot to recovery (vol-up + power), wipe data/cache/dalvik cache and flash whatever ROM you'd like. Remember this erases all your data, hopefully you've backed up whatever precious stuff you've got on your phone.

Remember that you need all files from the same version. Try this, those are from stock 2.2 if I'm not mistaken. When (if?) you get into recovery, remember to clear cache / data / dalvik cache.

Glad to hear you get it working as we both had the basically same problem.
For me however still it is the same issue, except that while going into the recover mode now it shuts down instead or restarting endlessly. Where as the bootloader mode simply does nothing.
Can you post the exact steps you did to get your work so I can also repeat them?
Thanks.

People still doesn't read. I said that it is bricked! Cannot install anything on.
Brgds
What do you mean by download mode? if you turn it on with vol up and down and power held, what happens?
Try put stock rom (2.3 or 2.2 depending on what was on phone before) in dload folder on sd card and it might flash firmware off that.
If you're on download mode then you can upload a recovery an boot image. Do it and use that to flash any rom you want.
I appreciate people trying to help. But sometimes it is good to stay quiet. So please, don't reply with funny suggestions.
Thanks.
Hello;
What, exactly, is "download mode"?
For someone how's in need of help, you should take it easy on the atitude and provide more info for those sparing a moment of their lives to try to help you out, no?

If i said that the telephone is bricked and only in download mode you should know what does it mean before you reply. That's all. No hard feelings.
Try using a FAT32 formatted sdcard, with nothing in it but the dload folder with a stock ROM.
Couple days ago, I deleted all files from my U8800's FAT32 and EXT4 partitons - yes, even the 'image' folder, connected to my Linux box.
Because I wanted to revert to stock Froyo, i dumped back partition 5, from a backup I did some months ago - but this part is not relevant.
Formatted the card, dumped the dload folder into it, with a card reader; removed the battery and followed the procedure described in your link.
First try, it displayed some error message - can't remember - second try it showed up the pink screen, followed by the blue screen and initiated the ROM flashing. My phone is now fine and dandy... Oh, it rebooted three times after installing stock Froyo, so don't be alarmed when you get there.
Cheers
Good luck

I tried all you mentioned 30 X and more then that But no success
Btw: if you dumped back your partition from backup you had access to internal memory ... i don't have that connection neither on Ubuntu or Windows. I got pink screen but it is in "Download mode" only.
Thanks.
Can you explain me how did you get your Huawei u8800 enter in Download mode if it's a feature of some samsung smartphones to work with odin ?
You're being a little rude for those who're tryin' to help you, you should be more polite ma friend...
You didn't even say what rom were you using... so I guess you don't even deserve any help from anybody.
Peace
I've had download mode on my previous Android device - LG GT540. All it needed to enter such mode was to remove the battery, SIM and sdcard , and plug the USB cable. It would enter download mode and allow a stock ROM to be flashed with the standard LG update tool.
Actually, I dumped partition 5 back to the phone prior to erasing every file system in it, and indeed had pink screen mode access in order to do it...
Sorry it didn't work out for you.

I've installed some custom ROM and after reboot it stopped to boot in HUAWEI logo. And that was it. I have tried to install official ROM's all of them with standard methods (dload folder) but every time ends in step 2/2 (installation failed or something like that). I opened up new thread with that few weeks ago:

This thread was supposed to answer my question at the top. And some guys did. I don't know how can thread be closed by the author. I've try to find it but with no success.
I appreciate people like to help. But if people don't know what i am asking why answering and asking questions that are answered in many threads before.
You see .. this thread should be as small as possible but ends with looong explanations which doesn't help at all
Peace.

[Q] - Manual Update from Stock 3.2.1 to Stock ICS

Hi All,
So I'm tired of my stock 3.2.1 flipping between the "Your Device is Up to Date" and "Poor Network Coverage" messages when checking for the ICS update.
I current have:
Acer_A500_7.014.14_COM_GEN1
Through this wonderful forum, I downloaded:
Acer_A500_7.014.14_041.203.01_COM_GEN1_1333444737199_8ec8b991.zip
I found out it was encrypted, so I downloaded the Acer decrypting tool and unzipped it.
So with that said, I have a few questions:
1) Will this release of ICS work with my current device?
2) If yes, how do I update my stock 3.2.1 to ICS? Do I need to root it before I can update it, or can I simply copy the update to an SD/USB Stick and update from there?
3) Do I need to decrypt the install, or can I use the encrypted version?
Or should I simply stop being so damn impatient and just wait for the OTA?
Thanks.
Have you been back to the Market (Play Store) and installed the recent Enhancement Update to the Acer Update Readiness Tool? Should allow you to connect to those "lazy" servers.
Hello,
I just did the manual install to ICS myself that way:
1) dowload the ICS update you mentionned
2) decrypt the zip with the acer decrypt tool
3) only extract the update.zip in the decripted zip to the root of the external sd
4) shutdown the tablet and restart it pressing both power + volume dow button which start the update automatically
Ps: a good thing is that this update does not wipe existing intalled apps or existing data
Hope this helps

Thanks.....I tried it, and the process appeared to start ok. But after about 30 seconds the Android robot showed up with an exclamation point in a triangle.
So maybe this update was not for my system. I guess I'll just be patient and wait for the OTA upgrade.
(and yes, I do have the tab enhancement installed in case anyone is wondering).

*** FIXED!!!!!! ***
I found out the SD card type is VERY IMPORTANT!!!
When I initially tried to install the ICS update from a generic SD card I would get the robot / exclamation / triangle error (I was using a Patriot 8GB SDHC Class 4 card).
I then tried using a Sandisk 2GB MicroSD card - UPDATE SUCCESSFUL!
I didn't have to use a Stock 3.2.1 image or anything - I just went straight to 4.0.3.
My new build number is ACER_AV041_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1 with Android version 4.0.3 of ICS goodness.
Thanks to everyone who gave me ideas and who posted on other sites!
EDIT - So I installed it, but then I had the dreaded DHCP-Wifi reboot problem. I fixed it by doing a factory reset, and all is good.

the issue that i have acer iconia a500 that have i lately upgraded it to ice cream sandwich .. i did rooted it but actually after i upgraded it to ice cream sanwitch the wifi went terrible and only work 20 cm from the router .. if i go far than that it read out of range .. i tried to flash the boat loader to install other rooms to fix that wifi issue with no way .. as every time i load a room in the SD and sure i rename the folder to update.zip ... power off and volume down .. just a second the system start loading and then a sign of an android logo with a red triangle above it .. other guys recommend that i should first unlock my loader by ( Flashing a Patched Bootloader to the Acer Iconia A500 ) a thousand time i tried that according to the video on youtube but i can't log into APX mode .. i gone mad .. appreciate your help !

You do not need to rename anything dude, You should have installed a custom recovery if you flashed a rom already before, you go back to recovery, then go to the option to select zip from sdcard, find and select the file, that is it.
The android error screen you described is the stock recovery.
Also once you install one of the latest CWM recovery you can easily flash the bootloader.
how i can install recovery on original stock ????

This is from another thread HERE.....b4 u do anything GET YOUR CPUID - please ask if anything is not clear
You may need to root first so u can delete the file at step 2
1. get yr cpuid and save it multiple places open a file explorer and go to /sys/firmware/fuse/acer_cpuid
2. then go to /system and rename/delete the "recovery-from-boot.p" file - this will prevent your custom recovery being overwritten with the stock recovery.
3. have your custom rom on yr ext SD card, ready to flash ONCE you've flashed the unlocked bootloader
4.To flash the v8 bootloader you need to use nvFlash and there are a couple ways if going about that...
a) manually by using the guide in the OP of civato's BL thread
b) using one of the auto tools like afterOTA or apxFlash - links also in that same post...
c) you'll also get to pick a custom recovery and it will be flashed at the same time - cwm 1.7.3 is recommended until you're running stable
d) From yr cpuid - generate yr sbk - how to do that is in the same OP
5) once flashed, boot straight to recovery
6) Do a nandroid backup then the wipes
7) Flash the rom
8) Reboot to recovery and wipe again
9) Job Done!
notes:
Everything you need to do this is in civato's BL OP - sorry can't post the link but its stickied in the Dev Forum
[GUIDE]A500/501/G100W-Installing ICS V8 UNL-BL & CWM Or back to HC BL(24-6-2012)
the afterOTA tool,
- saves all yr uid details etc in a txt file
- flashes v3 bootloader -
- it also installs the needed drivers too
- its pretty good at what it does...
seems some are having wifi issues with jellytime but the dev is working on this
you've done the right thing by asking questions before attempting anything, wish everyone was like you...if my post isn't clear then please let me know....for those of us used to the way things work with our Acer, its hard to remember how difficult it seemed when we were new!!
good luck

thanks a million for your kind help ..
actually i am still unable to unlock my boot-loader .. and load recovery in order to flash a new ROM .. but still unable to unlock my boot-loader although i tried acer recovery to load another recovery but still unsuccessful .. i found that i can't delete the file you mentioned "recovery-from-boot.p" even i used root manager to delete it by force while it says deleted after requesting permission but i found nothing deleted the cursed file "recovery-from-boot.p" still there !!!
i am going crazy for weeks now i am just trying to unlock my boot loader in-order to flash another Rom .. but can't log into recovery always same dam android with the yellow triangle and now another curse with this file that can't be deleted !!!
just tell me how i can overcome that curse and go into recovery by any mean .. some guys tell me that i have to write some command in the lynx language to pass that war )
any advices !! :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
your root is broke
It sounds like your 'root' is broke or you havent mounted system as writable in order to have any changes stick...so
download the zip file attached to this post...ICSRoot by blackthund3r
extract the files and run the .exe - once its done REBOOT your tab
I'm not sure of this root manager you spoke of...????
Most file explorers will have a setting that enables you to 'write' and make changes to the /system partition - so make sure this setting is enabled...Superuser should pop up and ask if you want to 'grant' your app 'permission' if you don't see this then:
check superuser app is installed on your tab,
You are on the Stock ICS bootloader you cannot use Acer Recovery Installer to install your recovery....you need the v8 first ok?
So root yr tab with ICS root, REBOOT and then run nvFlash to install your recovery/BL
still unable to install another recovery

oh dear...I'm sorry you're having so much trouble flashing a recovery...
a couple if things first -
1. everytime u update to a newer version then u WILL LOSE ROOT!
2. you cannot use the acer recovery installer on ics
3. wifi on stock ics is known for being problematic
4. flashing the unlocked bl/recovery Must be done in specific order if u don't follow the steps exactly it won't work
so, you can try a complete factory reset of yr tab by using the option in settings>backup and restore....u will lose all yr data and settings - but yr wifi should work....for awhile at least....
as far as flashing the unlocked bl goes - there s a guide in my sig how to
your other option is to rollback to HC using tdv4_rollback rom a link to that is also in the guide
,
im outta suggestions but wish u luck in getting itsorted

Your first hurdle to overcome is to delete that file you need to delete that file that causes the stock recovery to be restored. No point in doing anything beyond getting the files you need ready and getting the Acer drivers installed.
Are you using root explorer to delete that file? You need to click the button at the top that remounts the file system as r/w, by default the file system is mounted as r/o and will not allow you to make changes.
If that does not work, do me a favor: download this root check tool from the play store:
http://tinyurl.com/d6tj85a (Play Store link to root checker basic - free app)
That utility will check that the su binary is installed and that permissions are set. Give that tool a run and report back to us so we can get you running!

You do not need to delete "recovery-from-boot.ICSRootBackup.p" the root tool has renamed the boot.p file for you not sure why you cannot delete it though sounds strange!
Go take a look here at this guide and see if it helps any: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2049778
If you are using apxFlash tool go to the "Bundle Market" on the first screen and choose "Bundle No. 17" this is V8 bootloader with cwm 1.7.3 theres a good guide here showing this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32905041&postcount=20

Huawei u8800 pro stuck on image signature verification fail!

I am in need of help....
I have a Huawei u8800 pro. I upgraded it to ICS the official upgrade. I had rooted my device when it was on 2.3.5 itself.I had changed the recovery to twrp and had flashed many ROMs onto it which were listed in thus forum. Every ROM were good but always had a problem with the network. I used to go back to the gingerbread everytime because i had a nandroid backup. I then upgraded the phone to the official ICS by the method they had suggested. But I still had the problem with network so I went back to recovery and twrp was not there so i tried to put new one and now I am stuck on image signature verify fail! The pink wont show the image drive also wat should I do.....i am so desparate about wat to do...pls help me..pls reply..thanking u in advance..

the new one as in TWRP 2.8.6.0?
which version of ICS did you install B928?
if so did you:
check if baseband 404029 instead of 404020?
IMEI wasn't messed up during process?
follow pink screen unlock method?
where does it say image signature verify fail during which process?
I am not able boot the phone its....neither to recover or normal mode...the baseband was 404029..I think

If you were on B928 version, you can run pink screen unlock to install a custom recovery such as TWRP.
However if you're not able to boot, this possibly means you flashed a wrong firmware. double check if you have a u8800pro not the u8800 or u8800+ (i'm not sure about the + one) they have different firmware.
Overall if you have a u8800pro, i recommend installing the stock B928 following the official procedure, this is almost a foolproof method to fix any possible software issue you may have.
the link below should have all you need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736650
Solved the problem
The answer was so simple....If u want all the data present in your mobile download the boot loader unlocker from the website given above by sarsiroslayer..thx man
Paste the Update.App in folder called dload and the folder should be in the root of the sdcard...yes you need a sdcard...and then remove the battery of the phone so it switches off...then connect the phone to the USB wire without battery...and immediatly press the volume. Down, volume up and power button...so it goes to a pink screen..and remember the sdcard should already be placed in the phone...and yes if the phone does not go into pink screen and instead starts to update the software Olla ur phone is fixed......restart and all will be fine...
Ifthis did not work or u don't want any data download the official 2.3.5 android from the huawei site and place the update.app in dload folder and do the same thing as above....My phone is working..:highfive:
Remember remove the battery...before updating ....
Thx all for ur support..xda rocks...
I have typed the solution so even a begginer can utjnderstand...
