Adobe Flash Problem - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

I am facing an issue with Adobe flash player on MIUI ROM (currently using MIUI 1.9.9, which is latest). The flash player crash if I try to farward the video, but runs O.K. if I allow to run the video as it is.
For example, using Stock browser (even with Dolphin HD), in YOU TUBE if I open any video, it runs perfectly. But, if I try to forward the video (try to skip some part), the video crashes.
I tried all Adobe Flash 10.1, 10.2 and latest 10.3, but same issue. Is this to do with MIUI or all CUSTOM ROM. I remember, I used to face similar problem with stock ROM (2.2) as well.
Any solution ?

Works for me using stock MIUI browser on newest MIUI and newest Flash. 720p vids lag a lot though.

Newest flash means flash 10.3, right ? Have you tried to forward the video (I mean skip some part and move to middle of the video) ?
I said, it works if I do not try to forward the video.

Yes 10.3.186.6 from market. And I can skip youtube videos (in browser too).
Btw I have franco.Kernel installed and some overclocking etc. if that does matter.

I am also running the latest MIUI with franco kernal.
When I try to forward the video in YOUTUBE, an message pops up saying:
"Sorry, this video cannot be played"
I am not sure, but it seems that it is to do with "HQ" option in the YOUTUBE. If I disable this, some videos are able to forward, but again, for some videos, I see above error message. But, as far as "HQ" option is enabled, all videos crash if I try to forward the video.

Yes now I understand. It does crash if you use m.youtube.com and choose "HQ" but if you use normal youtube site, then you can go forward in 720p vids too (but they lag). And everything works with youtube app too.

I noticed a discussion on the net recently where only videos tagged to "work on mobile devices" when uploading will work on mobile devices. I wonder if this has anything to do with youtube problems.

Flash player judder?

I've got the 10.1 flash and it was updated today too but any flash videos I watch are often juddering. It's almost like stop motion animation. Does anyone else's player play ok? If I use skyfire browser they generally play ok but I prefer the stock browser.
Also, on previous phones if I click a YouTube link from a forum the YouTube app would open to play it. On my dhd it goes to the YouTube site to play and then I get the juddery issue above. Is there a way of making the YouTube app open automatically when clicking a link?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
On my phone all the flash videos play fine and in HD. (it played fine with the original flash that came with the phone, but I have now installed the one from the market to be sure to get the latest updates).
As for youtube, all the links open in full screen in the player (sometimes I need to click on the icon to get it to open in fullscreen).
The DHD comes with youtube 1.6, but I have updated it with version 2 from the market.
Could you post a link to a flash video youve watched that played smoothly so i can check mine?
EDIT: for example can you play this video smoothly?

Just judders for me

No, this one judders as well. But when you play it there is a popup text that says "This video is not optimized for mobile devices". So, the website is at fault for not providing a web optimized video.
But this is the first time I have a problem with a video, all of the other flash videos I have come across always play properly.
You can try the videos on bbc.com, cnn.com, youtube.com, etc... Either you will get a popup asking you if you want to play the video in the play or you can play it on the page.

It's there, the only youtube version I see on the market is version 2.0.26.
Usually when you can't see something in the market it's because it isn't avaialbe for your area. I don't know if this is the problem you are experiencing.
Google also provides it at m.google.com/youtube , but I don't know if it's the same version.

Choppy flash video playback

Hi All,
My S2 isn't very good at playing back flash video. My old HTC Desire would play any video embedded on a web page that you threw at it, but on the S2 it pauses, stutters and generally looks crappy. Video recorded on the device is fine.
Anyone else seen this?
Mine plays every flash video perfectly, even Youtube 1080p flash video. Must be something your doing wrong or crap internet connection.
Sounds like a bad internet connection...is your flash updated to the latest?
I am sure you are trying to play them with latest Flash player installed and on Stock browser. Yes, I too can play the 1080p videos very well, and after updating the ROM to KI3 the Stock browser has gotten more smooth. I love it.

Yep, i agree...works very smooth, no compaints at all....
If you are using Flash Player 11, just make sure you turn off "peer-assisted networking" from the flash settings app.
Mine is doing exactly the same... poor choppy playback acts as if it's buffering all the time. If I pause the video and let it buffer for a while then play the buffered part it STILL plays back choppy :-(
I'm in Canada on Telus, my network connection is excellent, showing 'H' in the notification bar... tried it on wireless network at home too (which has no issues on other phones or on the PC's). I had a Desire HD too and that worked fine on the same setup.
Any help would be appreciated!!
PS I tried deactivating 'Peer-Networking' but that made no difference. Have also tried different browsers (stock, dolphin, skyfire) and alos uninstalled and reinstalled flash.
Mine goes choppy as well on sd video on some sites. But I have had it play fine minutes before but different video link on same site. But this is on a site which the stock browser wont play, when forced to be detected as a desktop browser through useragent, and I had to use skyfire browser so maybe that is the reason

[Q] MIUI 2.1.20 Video Is Buggy - Fix Available?

Hi. I'm currently running MIUI 2.1.20 (see link below)
http://forums.miui.us/showthread.php?13388-MIUI-us-Kindle-Fire-rom-Updated-2-1-20-0xD34D
One problem for me is that I can play streaming videos from the Net and user-uploaded videos in Facebook, but when they play, the video is all choppy, like how a TV is out of tune with like diagonal lines running through it, so it's pretty much un-viewable. The audio plays fine, and the video plays, just can't really make it out at all. So, this happens when I try to watch videos from web-sites that aren't in YouTube & Netflix (those work fine).
Was wondering if there has been any development regarding a fix for this issue in this build of MIUI?
If not, does anyone know if the 2.2.3 ICS build of MIUI addresses this issue? (see link below) It's not listed as a known issue, but I don't want to assume it's fixed before flashing to it.

I use MX video player for all my videos. You can set it to SW decode and its pretty good about playing all videos without lag.

Right now, the lack of hardware acceleration in the multiple ports of ICS for the Fire prevents HD video playback, and often leaves SD video pretty laggy or choppy. Also, with no native support for Adobe Flash when streaming video, that can degrade the quality as well, if not playing whatsoever. The devs are working to get this resolved, but as it's a really complicated process, it still may be awhile before it's resolved.

Youtube app does not load videos.

Hi I have a problem with the youtube app my video is not loading and if I click the back button to go back most of the time it forced close.
I tried uninstall update on the manage apps but still does not work.
I used CM7 stock and just flashed CM7 Phiremod and still have the same problem.
Is this normal?
Thank you.
I have issue with youtube app won't play HQ videos, lower quality ones work fine. I'm on the lastest KANG build.

The newest versions of youtube arent working right on the NC, you should be able to play all videos you tick off the HQ button. Or you could revert to an old and working youtube app, I am using version 2.1.6 and it plays on HQ.
Also recently started having an issue with videos not loading, running cm7 and have tried multiple roms. I tried an older version of the apk but it fc'd. Guess I will keep looking for one.
Edit: Seems to only be not loading hq videos, but I don't see any way to disable hq. I have tried multiple older apk's but they all fc

[HowTo] Watch videos in youtube with higher quality than youtube's application

Ok, some of you may already know about this but allow me please to make this thread for people who dont know and rely on youtube's app to watch their videos. I was constantly being annoyed of watching videos in the official youtube app which are supposed to be hd but they all would look like blurred and of low quality, although i had selected in settings the HQ (High Quality) option. The problem is that these videos are being played in standard 480p definition and there's nothing you can do about it. Here's how its done:
4.2 JB
1) Install Mozilla's Firefox Browser from playstore (unfortunately chrome does not support flash)
2) Download and install manually Adobe's Flash player from here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html Scroll down where it says Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 and download the latest version 11.1.115.81
3) Open Firefox, go to settings->display->plugins and select enabled
4) Still in Firefox go to tools->Add-ons->Browse all firefox add-ons, search for the add-on Phony and install it
5) Now under settings there is an option named Phony, press it and under Select User Agent chose Desktop Firefox. Finally restart the firefox
4.4 KitKat
1) Install Dolphin Browser and Dolphin Jetpack from the playstore
2) In doplhin's settings menu enable the flash player (always on), enable the dolphin jetpack and select for user agent desktop
3) Install the hacked flash player from here
Now you re set. Put the url of youtube, navigate to the video you want to watch and press the little gear in the bottom right corner of youtube's video, select 720p or 1080p if the video supports it and watch it in really high definition. Needless to say that i never used youtube's app anymore to watch my videos as i can manage my playlists, turn on or off the annotations, put captions etc. like i do in my desktop computer
*ALTERNATIVE APP* If you want to stay away from the trouble of installing flash player and you want to use an app for viewing youtube videos you should check the Viral Floating Youtube Popup app. It supports hd playback, a resizable player to run along with other apps, background playback and many other cool features. Check the developer's original thread here.
You do realize all that is unnecessary, right? All you have to do is install flash, run the native LG browser, and switch to desktop view. Youtube will then allow 1080p resolution via the gear icon.
Fantastic guide, being stuck on 480p was not very helpful as many of the videos for me came out blurry and not to the full definition. Now I am able to watch videos I have uploaded to the internet in full HD, thank you so much for the guide and for it to be in-depth, as I hate guides which are only a few sentences. The 1080p will work best depending on your internet, as I have fast internet in my house so it should not be a problem with lag etc.

Thank you, all I did was install flash and then it worked.
It's completely ridiculous that we have to do even that though, I can't believe that the youtube app's "HD" is still not even proper 720.

I ve used your app but i can only change resolution to 720p and not to 1080p as well as it crashes quite often when i press to play in the background. I use pvstar+ now which runs perfectly but it doesnt support hd resolution. In my humble opinion the best way is to watch the videos from firefox

480p and 1080p are now not available in any app since google split the streams in to. 720p should work fine. Can you grab a log of the crash?
You can try another way for background play, press the pop-up icon, then in the pop-up window, press minimise.

I switched to your app as pvstar doesnt support hd. I have to admit that your app is the best of its kind, everything is nicely organised and the best feature by far is the background and resizable player, this app is definitely worthy 5 stars. I understand now the reason that you dont have 1080p, anyway there isnt any noticeable difference between 720p and 1080p in this tablet's display. When i had first installed it some weeks ago i noticed that it crashed 2 or 3 times after some long usage and displaying the same error every time, i dont remember it exactly though, something about "we re sorry but the application has crashed"?. I dont know how to take a log if that happens again, maybe you could tell me a way or i could get a screenshot and report it if it happens again. Keep up the good work mate.

On GPE You need a hacked flash player for KitKat. There's download link in OP point 2, here:
[Guide][Flash]How to play flash video on Android 4.4 Kitkat
Install latest Dolphin browser from play store, enable jetpack in settings and flash. I personally set flash in Dolphin 'on demand' just not to see all this flash adverts on web pages.
Works good on my nexus 5.
Ah, that's it. I have 4.3 on the GNex. Thanks for the link to the hacked flash--it's working. The app in the sig, is "viral". It looks cool, but I haven't tried it yet.

Which app and in whose signature do you mean is viral? Did you scan it with antivirus and it dejected some virus on it?
LMT from my signature was the reason I rooted my first phone. It's outstanding with customizations. It works even on not rooted devices (except of back and menu buttons), you can still make shortcuts to lot of apps to start them from pie.
You need root for full functionality.
Meisterqn said ermacwins sig wasn't visible, so I was saying that the app being referred in that post is named "viral".

Only thing is, all video's are set to 720p with no option to go into 1080p.
Is that normal, or this something with youtube? Also im using Mahdi Rom.
