hi
After playing with the touchpad and ipad I've really noticed how much you have to move your finger to actually scroll on the 10.1
Is there any setting to make it more sensitive?

A bit annoying they didn't get this right out of the box, is it just the tab or is it all android devices?
Thanks

hi,
all i can say is that i am using it, on my 10.1 v and 10.1, together with" ADW ex launcher " and it works for me.!!!
eg.
i barely touch my screen and can " swing " the icons around in a circle !
flicking from desktop page to page, is smooth and fast !
i have played with a ipad 2 a few times and its smooth, but i rate my 10.1v and 10.1 right up there !!( facts, according to me)
Finally, the customization, bit from android does/swings , it for me !to the 10.1
Just read the " relevant app " market reviews, and there is quite a few! ( nearly all are very positive reviews and i see the rating is 4.7 out of 5 ? ( if i remember correctly ?)
so all in all,
sorry to hear it does not work for you !
good luck

The Touchscreen Booster app does not work. Nobody cares about scrolling/swiping speeds on the home screens. That is not the issue.
The issue is scrolling in apps especially web browsers. Scrolling in web browsers on the tab 10 is the most frustrating experience you can have. It scrolls so slowly that you have to swipe up or down 100 times to get to the top or bottom of many webpages. Very annoying and frustrating.
Your Touchscreen Booster apps does nothing to resolve this.

hi,
plse read my post ,i gave an example about sensitivy ( in case you don't understand what i meant with ..eg ..abreviation ? Further i use it with ADW ex , ( not as a standalone ? )Further, i said read the reviews about the relevant app ( market ),etc .In general ,this is my experience and what i found.Above all, it is not " my" touchbooster as you state in your post "Your Touchscreen Booster apps does nothing to resolve this."
plse, if you have only negative comments ,don't also try and "attack/insult/etc "like getting personal ( "your ")
Keep to facts or your personal experience and thats it !
Above all " respect "other forum members ,who is only trying to give positive input to the OP question in post 1
lastly,
in my post no 3, i stated " give it a try if you want ?
good luck"
so i left the option open ,to take my advice or not !!
Again, the touchscreen booster does not change anything. It does not improve scrolling at all. It has no effect on scrolling at all. As stated before nobody cares about the home screens so I dont understand why you posted what you did. This thread is asking about scrolling not touch sensitivity. Touch sensitivity does nothing for scrolling.
Even with the app installed it does not change any aspect of the touch screen. It isnt even compatible with the tablet. Its just does not work at all.
hi , i am not interested in arguing with you .!
i stated over and over i use it with ADW ex and i believe it works for me .(you don't and i respect that )
just for your info,in post 7 ..eg..i said flicking @scrolling ?
and yes it is compatible see snip in post
lets move on and try give OP, positive advice
end of story .
thank you
again, that does nothing for scrolling. I dont understand how you think that is a solution when it does nothing for scrolling. Please explain how the app touchscreen booster improves scrolling in apps like the web browser. Please explain because I dont understand.
Thanks for your suggestion
I've installed both apps and scrolling in the browser is exactly the same
The home screen animations are different, but I'm not really bothered about this
Anyone else have any ways to fix this?
Can't believe there isn't more voice about this issue

markdj57, please comment on the above and also where you've noticed the improvements
Its the one let down with this tablet, feels a bit of a chore to use for long periods where as the Ipad is a pleasure to use in this area
is this an andriod or samsung problem?
I think the touchscreen booster app does help with scrolling. Has a more "instantaneous" reaction like my ipad. Also the ipad actually flings the pages slower than the galaxy tab IMHO
I am away from tab but I will be back on friday evening, will do a few more tests then.

You should stop attacking people with your "I know best, just because I say so" posts.
He is trying to help, hell, maybe he is helping te OP, and you are clearly not helping at all, providing 0% contribution to this topic.
Stating your (lousy) opinion like "nobody cares" or "does nothing for scrolling" are merely your opinions with no proof whatsoever. (You have a reliable source, or is this just your experience?)
As far as I see you enjoy putting people down mere on their experience, as actually trying to provide helpfull information!

I watched this video back in December when it was released, didn't think much of it recently but had a look at it again this morning to see if it was a Xoom prototype. From what I can tell, it is. What I found most interesting is the app tray fly-in smoothness.
Obviously, this was a development unit shown 4 months before the actual release, so it is not terribly relevant to compare my Xoom with his, but I can't help but wonder why the app tray fly-in looks so much smoother on an early device than it does on a production- ready model (albeit not fully polished). Couple of possibilities:
1. The smoothness is simply a result of the video quality, and a higher rez version on a larger screen may allow me to see the fly-in is as chopp as what I've noticed on production models.
2. Rubin's prototype is super-overclocked and thoroughly optimized to be as smooth as possible in order to not look clunky during its first public appearance.
3. This prototype is working in a non-mobile environment, without any added services used by carrier networks. No use by 3g chip and no background services to support data or voice connectivitt.
Thoughts?

Oh Christ Jesus that SO doesn't matter! Have you ever run "ps" or "logcat" while doing that?!
I have 96 apps loaded on my device. I suspect that as you run thru the screens, it's gotta render each icon in-place. I don't believe for a minute that's going to be fast every time.
I've had co-workers "rate" my Xoom by how quickly the icons swipe in the App Screen, and I look at them like they're ****in' crazy. NEVER MIND the fact that the tablet is fast as hell and does 95% of what I want it to well, they say "it doesn't swipe quickly".
WGAS?!!
"Fast as hell" does not describe the Xoom.

And therin lays the reason apple is so sucsesful. They would by far reduce features and only include features that are refined and work than throw everything in, and even give the possibility to developers to affect the experiance.
So in Android you can change your keyboard, you can edit an MP3 with multiple software and then use it as a ring tone ...
in the iPhone ... you cant

You must be doing something wrong. Mine only gets slow when I'm developing over ADB (I think it is a bug, actually..) and when I'm using flash sometimes. A reboot fixes the temporary slowness without fail. I might just be lucky and have a nice unit, since my linpack score is in the top 50 after using the stock kernel OC'd to 1.5 GHz.
But I'm sick of seeing this M of yours attached to whiney posts all over these forums. Please, either figure out how to fix your DEVELOPER TABLET or go complain in some NON-DEVELOPER forums where some lucky CONSUMERS might actually get some value out of the dribble you type.
Better yet, return your Xoom, it is clearly not the right tablet for you.

1 - there's a lot of JS on certain sites' in their text boxes (presumably for advanced editing/composition features). You'll also notice on those "slow" sites that there's no keyboard autocorrect popups, either 'cause all input is character-at-a-time
2 - that's what you base "slow" on? You sound like my co-workers and their "it's slow 'cause the apps don't scroll as fast as an iPad" crapola.
(Damn, I fed the troll ...! )

What's funny is for the most part the Xoom browser scrolls faster than the iPad's browser. Even the iPad 2 has the checkerboarding everywhere when you scroll.
Hi,
I recently purchased a Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510 and have literally tried out all the ROMs out there to try and find the best to help increase the tracking speed of the device. I have searched a lot for the answer but cannot seem to find a definitive one. All of them seem to have considerable lags with stylus input for taking notes.
I do not really care about palm detection, so finding a ROM which speeds up the tracking would be great help. I am not sure if tracking is related to the app that I use as well but I have also tried most of the notepad apps and have found that Antipaper Notes (Zoom function) is the best along with FreeNote (Tracks better, but cannot work on it like an actual notepad)
I just need a bit of help finding the best ROM to take notes on as that is my main use case for the Galaxy Tab.
Thanks!
Someone please help me

I have been on "In Paris V2" for quite some time now. It has a much better response time than the stock ROM but is still very difficult to use. I was wondering if anyone had better experience with any other ROM, or if it is the notes app which is the main cause for the slow tracking?

The only issue that I have is tracking with a stylus. Everything else is peachy! I want to be able to write notes on it with a stylus. And when trying to do so it seems that everytime I write an I or L in any case it completely fails to recognise it! :S and if i'm trying to write something quickly ten that's a whole new ball game!

If you're saving handwriting as is, how is it "not recognizing" letters? It's not reading your pen strokes?
yeah it isnt recognising the strokes.
Just a thought, I have no idea if it would make a difference - google "stylus-r-us" and take a look at the website. They're expensive, but there IS a money-back guarantee. Might be worth a phone call to talk to them. Good luck.
I read somewhere in these forums that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 only has something like 600 <pressure> points whereas the ipad2 and Asus Eee Pad have 1200. No matter what stylus you use, handwriting is never going to be the strong point on this tablet unless Samsung addresses this issue. I've tried every Rom, writing app and stylus - some work better than others - but handwriting is still pretty much uselss because there simply isn't enough points available. It's a disappointment with the Galaxy Tab for sure, but I've been using the Logitech bluetooth keyboard (and case) and that's been working out well. But still miss the legible handwriting......

Hy Guys,
Just having my note since yesterday. Everything fine but I am not really impressed by the speed - I mean it is not really what I have expected!
Opening Apps is not so quick as with the Galaxy S2, and scrolling in contacts or in the Explorer is not really smooth. May Galaxy S is much smoother.
Is there anything I can do before the first ROMs are getting released?
Thanks for your feedback
You have 147 posts and still dont know where to post.
Also please search.
This should be in Q&A as it has nothing to do with development...
BUT: it is less smooth than sgs2, don't if it is actually slower, But I notice it too.
I guess It'll get smoother with newer builds... and if not, the hardware acceleration of ICS will definately fix this
Use launcher pro for now...ramp up the scroll and. Opening speeds in settings.

Yea. I used swype on my HD2.
I mean I could go back, but Swype is so much quicker and easier.
I like Swype!
I've tried Swype a few times but I can't get the feel of it at all so never use it. Trying the ics keyboard now and finding it's a bit better at auto correcting spaces which is handy.
Swype rules.
S-pen toggle ICS keyboard
love this ICS keyboard layout (having such a small space bar on others just pisses me off), but is there any way to add the Pen input for it on the SGN? kinda defeats the purpose of it on this handset if you can't use it.

Swype is by far the best. It's so easy and simple and forgiving. I barely even hit my intended letters and it almost always knows what I'm typing. The idea of taping out messages or emails seems archaic now. Especially with the s-pen....it's just such an effortless pleasure.
Takes a day, max. That being said, is love to be able to use Swype on the ics keyboard.

I tried the keyboad but have no comment as of now. Why? Because it still lags just like the previous other keyboards I've tried, if your a fast texter like myself the phone is slow & cannot catch up which leads to mistakes in EVERY word I write, it's a nightmare...
I hope they fix this issue in the next update.
Currently using ''smart keyboard pro'' which I think is one of the BEST keyboards, also being VERY customizable & comes with several great skins, all of which are great in their own way, even the colours you can change...
I think the note will be FAR superior once it gets the ice cream update and will be even smoother and faster than what it already is.
I found it initially lagged but after turning off most of the features it works OK now aside from occasional lags which I assume is due to some other application slowing it down. Its auto correct can be intermittent but I have it turned down as I don't want it too aggressive
Hi all, I'm a new xoom user and an SGS2 user...
One thing I noticed straight away was the xoom seems to have a slight lag when responding to touch input, e.g your finger can move about 1cm before it actually scrolls when swiping etc.
Someone on the sgs2 forum solved this here.

Basically you run the app attached in that post, set the slider to 0 then click apply.
The setting doesn't seem to take effect until you lock and unlock the screen.
There is also details on a kernel tweak to permantly have the fix.
Give it a go and please report back here. It seems to work for me! Most noticable in Opera and google maps.
Cheers,
