I have no space in my nexus for applications, I can use app2sd in stock 4 GB SD memory that comes with the nexus one?
yes you can use it on any SD card if following conditions are satisfied...
1.using a Custom recovery
2.partitioned your SD card with ext partition
3.using a custom ROM other than stock which provides Apps2SD
thanks, I'm testing the desire of MoDaCo r22, I can partition to ext4 with this rom?
I'm using the r22 rom without app2SD desire of MoDaCo, it is necessary
to wipe to install another rom, or I can update
only?
- Format the SD
- Create EXT4 partition from the recovery
and then as a step applications to the sd?
TANX
if you are moving from r22 without apps2sd to r22 with apps2sd, then i guess no wipe is required but if you are moving from one rom to another different rom, it is always best practice to wipe everything and install the rom.

You don't need to do anything for app2sd in CM because it is built in. but if you want app2ext flash darktremor patch.
i think darktermor is already present in Openfire.. so i just need to partition the SD to ext and install openfire???

You can easily change, modify partitions, using Ubuntu 10.1 Live:
http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download
Make example a bootable USB stick, and you can do anything, with your partitions
My Wildfire with Cyangenmod works great...with Fat32 + Ext2 partitions
I made it with gParted
cheers
Hi all
is it possible to make the M-DEEJAY CM7 1.6 ZIP version use a EXT3 partition on SD to store the apps that I will install.
I've already format my SD but in Storage menu under settings, it shows only the Nand space.
DO I have to install APP2SD+.apk ?
Or something else?
Thanks in advance.

How do I know if my EXT Partition is working??
i followed the steps perfectly..& ,y 16Gb sd card have 2 partition 1.5GB EXT4 - 13GB FAT32
but im not seeing a different with my internal memory space...its the same
i feel like its the same with out the EXT partition.
plz guys help me....
i needed more internal storage to install application...so i found a topic talking about making SD card 2 partition 1 EXT & the Other normal Fat32..i understod that the EXT partition will be as internal memory & i followed the steps
after flashing the NAND i didnt find any different in my internal memory storage & after installing some application my internal memory got low...so i used APP2SD but as u all know some application cant be moved to SD.
so plz i want to know where is my EXT4 1.5GB partition & how can i know if its working or not ?
Does your rom you are flashing use data2ext or app2sd? If the rom itself isn't set up to recognize the partition I doubt you can just add a partition.

i was using MDJ FroYo Revolution v.2.3 [A2SD+][RMNET][Kernel: MDJ S10.2 OC]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823491
but my memory got low tooo fast from a little application....so im now using a smaller NAND
CleanDROID v1.30 - Super Clean [FROYO+Cyanogen][Kernel GL v1]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917590 just to get more free space
I haven't tried either of those so can't comment. The one I'm using certainly recognises my partition and I have plenty of "internal" memory.
I know most recommend not going above 1gb for the partition as larger ones can cause a problem. Try reformatting the partition and resize it to 1gb and see if that helps.
thank you ill try another NAND
can u tell me ROM r u using?

Hi there !
Im currently Running Kyrillo's Rom 7.0 and using a 2GB SC CARD.
Since i've partitioned it to use the A2SD+ function avaible for android, and also created a SWAP partition, how do i backup my apps ?
Seems like i have to choose which partition to backup and where to backup or w.e
How do i do that in case i need to Wipe my data again to flash another rom ?
Thanks in advance !
You need a fat32 partition on your sdcard to save your backups. Have you left some space on there or did you use it all up with swap and a2sd ?
