1: is the phone rooted with s-off?
2: if you pull the battery out of the phone, put the battery back in, then hold [till the phone boots] the volume down rocker and power button what happens?

what is s off
the phone i think is not rooted had 2.3.4
i tired to go to bootloader and recovery but still doesnt cut on the trackpad light just cuts on red
---------- Post added at 03:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:56 PM ----------
doesnt cut on at alll been on charger overnight the orange light started blinking
doesnt boot to recovery the trackpad light just cuts on
might take to tmobile see if its a batttery issue

This must be a case of eMMC failures.
Just follow this procedure.
1. Download the stock 2.3.4 Rom here.
2. Place it on the root of your sd card (don't put it in a folder).
3. Remove the battery, insert the battery, press Power & Volume Down Button simultaneously.
4. The bootloader menu will update your phone (answer "YES" when asked).
If the update is successful - you'll be back in the stock Rom.
If the update shows "Fail-PU" - send your phone for warranty repair, because it won't function anymore.

it wont boot the red light just cuts on even with a new battery still wont trun on

IF you cannot get into Hboot the device is considered bricked.

Mytouch 1.2 not turning on

I tried to put a sappimg on my phone and half the updates failed. Then I tried to boot into Recovery but this phone isn't turning on at all. No charger led, nothing. Can't start up by pushing ANY buttons. Took battery out for 30 sec..nothing. I was thinking of telling T-mo(my carrier) that I had lost my phone in order to get a new one. But before I do does anyone know what this could be?
Im new to this and i might be 100% wrong but i think you might have followed the instrutions for the old mytouch.
Did you make a gold card?
Yes, I made a gold card. And I did follow the old instructions. I couldn't find anywhere else to unroot. But now, all I get is a flashing red light when holding the power button, and an orange led light when charging and a blue led light when holding the trackball and and power but nothing turns on.

[HOW TO] Calibrate HTC Aria Battery - Taken From Desire Android Development Forum

Found this on Desire Android Development forum ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755903 ... MOD Edit: Link created.
Found this on another forum, I have done this a few times myself (do it whenever i flash a new rom because i always clear battery stats, can't hurt). Have found that it does top it up a fair bit. Before doing this i find my desire will drop to +-93% straight off the charger, however this keeps it 100% longer and i actually get to see the numbers 99-94%
Worth a go in my opinion because it only takes 5 mins of your time and can't hurt the phone... So any minor gain from this process is a win...
Hi *******, I understand your concern regarding battery life on your Nexus One device. The following steps should significantly extend the battery life on your phone. Please connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green, indicating the device is fully charged. Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off. Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on. Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the notification LED is green. Disconnect the phone, power it on, and use it. You need to use this sequence only once. If the issue of battery life on our phone persists, I recommend you contact our HTC accessory department directly.

From what I have read on there forums the whole procedure should go like this :
So combining the two bits of info we've compiled, the best way to calibrate your battery is as follows
1: Charge phone whilst on till LED is green.
2: Disconnect phone from charger, power it off.
3: Reconnect to charger with phone powered off and allow to charge till LED is green.
4: Disconnect the phone from charger, power it on. Once completely powered on, turn it off again and reconnect to charger until LED is green.
5: Reboot into recovery (back button held at same time as power button) and wipe battery stats.
Battery should now be calibrated.

So I am trying this right now as I type this but the problem I am running into is I charged my phone to full - green led . Problem comes when I power off phone and plug charger back in the phone automaticly boots into Clockwork Recovery ( Thats with the stock charger plugged into a wall socket not computer ) I tried to charge phone that way but led never turns green so I charged it all night that way. Powered phone back on fully , then turned off and charged again in clockwork recovery led never turning green . Cleared batt data in clockwork recovery and powered on . Battery life is unimproved drains fast if not faster than before lol . Hope someone can help . Main problem being how do I get phone to charge with power off and not booting into clockwork recovery when charger plugged in.
Now I have read else where
It seems the old battery icon was part of the original recovery, so there is no fix is on the horizon. Really, no functionality has been lost. The phone is never really off when charging anyway. Better to just leave the phone on and let the screen go off while charging.

HTC Aria - Unrevoked3 Root Method - Attn1's ROM: Liberated_Aria_b005
Hope I made sense I am noob to all this
Ok so here is what I am doing right now - My Calibration Breakdown
1: Did cjperone's !!!!Battery Saver Fix? hit fix permissions in ROM Manager app ( Don't know if this is needed but said what the hell go for the gusto )
2: Rebooted phone per ROM manager app telling me to
3: Charge phone while on till LED is green. Battery was at 4137v ( From what I have read 4137v is opptimal full charge )
4: Disconnect phone from charger, power it off.
5: Reconnect to charger with phone in Clockwork Recovery and allowed to charge for 4 hours . (Since Led Will Not Turn Green )
6: Disconnect the phone from charger, power it on. Once completely powered on, turn it off again and reconnect to charger with phone in Clockwork Recovery and allowed to charge for 4 hours . (Since Led Will Not Turn Green )
7: Since I was already in Clockwork Recovery I wiped battery stats and rebooted phone.
I will use my phone normally today and will see what happens. I will post back results later on tonight.
Well first try not so good with method above I rebooted my phone and within 30 minutes of normal use charge was already at 86% honestly I think froyo 2.2 has a lott too do with the results people are getting. So I installed the newest version for the aria on the forums and gonna try again. I'll keep you updated.

if u did a nandroid from the beginning before u rooted ur phone u can do the original method then flash ur most recent nandroidd back up
Hi mate, glad to run across your post I was wondering what was up too. I have the same setup, but so far mine charges in a normal off status but still doesn't hit green. If I turn it on it is at 100% but not for long. It's definitely draining quicker than the 2.1 setup I had before. Not sure what to do exactly.

Htc wildfire Question

Ive had my phone rooted for a while now.
only thing which kind of annoys me is when the phone is powered off, and you place it on charge the orange light comes on. However, when you take it off charge the orange light is still stable and the phone will not power on. Untill i take out and put back in the battery?
ive read somewhere when i first rooted that this was a bug while rooting?
just wanted to know is there a possible fix for this issure?
thanks,
if you charge when it's switch off, when you want turn on without pull off the battery, you can use short cut buttun to turn on : power+volume down +press the optical ,do it at the same time...

[Q] HELP!!! mytouch 4g went into comatose...

my phone just simply went useless after a drained battery more or less a week from now... it wasnt like that before until the most recent update from froyo to gingerbread that my phone just doesnt function or power up after connecting the charger... all it does now is.... if you press the power button itself, it vibrates 3 times then the LED blinks orange and thats it.... if you press power + vol. up, it vibrates 5 times and the LED lights up green. and when connected to my laptop with the orange LED blinking, it is recognized as a USB mass storage device. with the green LED on, it is recognized as "android phone'' - ''adb android interface."
i tried adb but always error no device found or list of devices attached empty/blank... can i still revive my phone???? help please......
Did you try power + volume down? That would get you into bootloader. When you are in there, connect your phone to the computer and download a stock gingerbread ROM and place it on your SD. Rename it to PD15IMG.zip Then the phone will recognize the name and update. Good luck. Thanks if I helped
did that alreaDy.... if i press power + vol. down, my phone just vibrates 5x and the LED lights up green while the screen remains black....
Did you put it on life support? lol jk.
If I helped, give thanks, if you please.

Based on what you said, if device is plugged in that adb doesnt recognize it as well as not being able to boot into bootloader I would say that if you are still able to warranty the device with tmo that you better do it soon and let them know that the problem started right after you received the OTA GB update. They shouldnt take any issue if they beleive it may somehow have been caused by them.

I agree.
Here are some other options to try. Use the charger and cable that came with the phone and fully charge your battery (if charged already let it die and recharge). Remove battery for about ten minutes and then retry to boot up. If none of this works then you are SOL. Just take it back to tmo and tell them this occurred after the update like eqjunkie has said.

You said your phone's battery was drained to zero for a week, and after that the device won't start? Therefore it might be a battery related problem. Could you try replacing it with another one? There's a lot of them on the market, and they cost not that much.
Btw Mt4G uses the same battery type as HTC Thunderbolt.

mytouch 4g Totally dead?

While in the middle of reading an email (using the gmail app) and downloading an update to a marketplace app (Go SMS Pro), my phone suddenly froze and a minute later, shut off and hasnt come back on again. I switched batteries, tried different chargers, nothing works. no screen glow, no charging orange light (battery was at about 80% when it died), nothing. the water damage indicator is white.
Plugged it into my PC and it recognized a USB device but could recognize what type etc and asked for drivers.
The phone had original software (2.3.4) and wasnt rooted or anything. Just a month out of the warranty period. Tmo threw their hands up and offered me their off contract pricing for new phones . is it time to start looking for a replacement? Any hope?

that is the weirdest thing ive ever heard. can you get into the bootloader? (vol down + power)
the phone behaves like there is no battery in there. And I've swapped out the battery (wife has same phone), and even my battery works in her phone.

but can you get into the bootloader? its not completely dead since your computer detects something when its plugged in so it could just be a messed up rom that kicked you into a different mode..
if you can still get into the bootloader you should technically be able to reinstall the stock image or even root and flash a recovery tool

You can make sure the connectors are clean for the phone, or it may be your power button, I have seen many people talking about dying out power buttons, there is a fix, I think I will have to look it up, it was on these forms.
---------- Post added at 10:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:38 PM ----------
Read up again, plugging it in and holding down either the home or the trackpad button for 20 seconds could work. Also found this post below.
jjbadd385:
If your power button is broken, you can seperate the black rubber from the chrome bezel, right at the power button, you will see a silver dot with a silver ring around it,,which is the flex ribbon, and very, very small. Anyway, take a piece of aluminum foil and twist it up, now touch the silver dot and ring simultaneously, for like 1 or 2 seconds, and it will come on, if your flex ribbon is not broken. I have an extra. Mt4g with a broken power button, and I power it on this way a few times a day...takes about 10 seconds.

Here is a good thread if it is your power button.

Sorry if none of this works :/
I've seen this happen already with a different phone, I went as far as sending it out to be repaired and the service department said the processor shorted out and needed to either buy new or a refurbished one. It will still show on a computer because there is power to it but due to the processor going bad it won't do anything from that point. I would go with the mt4g slide it has great reviews and a solid forum here.
