How much on-screen time do you get before battery dies? - Fascinate General

I only get 2.5 hours. With everything UV... And only overclocked to 1.2 ghz. On cm7
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

Just checked...1h, 26min, 58 sec makes up to be 45% of my battery drain from full charge last night, and with that I have 17% battery life right now. I do have my screen cranked to the max brightness, I run no UV and Oc'd to 1.4GHz, on cm7 with glitch kernel and
v6 supercharger script...although i'm not sure if that plays into battery life?

Pool party, jt0912, only syncing gmail and no oc/uv. This is right on par for me.

Why would you ever need to have the screen on any brightness over like 35%? I keep it almost as low as I can on MIUI, sometimes a little higher if I'm in a bright room but never above 50%. That might be your problem. Brightness changes between 50/60% and 100% are hardly noticable unless you're in direct sunlight or something, at least in my experience.

I agree with sagadieu. I have mine on the lowest brightness (11% I think) whenever I'm indoors. It's plenty bright. If you go outside just touch the far right of the notification bar to give you 100%.
I really think the auto brightness is one of the worst functions and is the biggest battery killer!

The 1.44 option is there because some people want to overclock as high as possible, but some phones won't run at 1500mhz stable. They want more than 1400 but can't hit 1500 so glitch added 1440 after doing some testing on which mhz between 1400 and 1500 is the best.
And you can undervolt to get rid of the extra power usage.

Is there any advantage to setting it to underclock to 368 instead of 245? I would think setting it to 245 would conserve even more battery life...?
No disadvantage other than when the CPU ramps back up from the screen being off. I just wait about 1 second before unlocking my screen, but I'm a little OCD about my device performing as smooth as glass. Even though I know WHY it's a little slow when ramping back up, I just don't like to "feel" it go slowly.
I've been watching Faux's thread and I really dig what he's doing, how transparent he's being, etc. The performance coming from screen-off to screen-on is supposed to be a smoother with that kernel and what he's done to it.
I love my ROM and the way my device performs, so I sort of don't want to change a good thing. That being said, we all know why we got into Android in the first place.

Cm7 btw, standard battery.
Phone was fully charged last night at 11.15, unplugged since then... at 36% now at 7.50... :-(
Its a brand new battery, old one was even worse, maximum of 5 hours of very light to moderate usage and need to plug in again...
Using CM7, somehow I feel there is something wrong with this phone itself... will see what happens when t-mo gets the phone back for repair...

Well the iPhone 4 does not allow you to change features that alter the battery life too much like the HTC Desire Z. The iPhone 4 uses a stronger battery that allows the iPhone to reach a maximum of about 36 hours. HTC Desire Z's battery life all depends on use but this phone could last about the same with moderate use. Hope I helped

I don't know if the battery life really sucks or not... When I don't just touch the phone, it lasts atleast 2 days and more... but as soon as I start using it, well... battery just want juice all the time...
Changing to 1800mAH will certainly help as it is bigger and as some of those who have experienced, it certainly lasts somewhere around 40-50 hours.
As a note, I have even tried the Battery calibrator app, can't really say if it helped.
I have the mugen 1800mAh battery and i have to say its a nifty little product. It easily handles my usage (constant texting and voice calls with max brightness and gps always on) without breaking a sweat. By the time i charge it at the end of the night, its usually at about 40% and unplugged for about 16hrs.
The stock battery would shut down by mid afternoon with the same usage.
I am aware of other battery solutions, such as the Incredible battery mod and such, but i found the mugen solution to give the most convenient results. Plus you get a warranty you cant really get from some ebay sellers.

I got a 3500 mAh battery and I'm running my G2 on a Amazing Larry's OC UV kernel which is based off of Pershoots. Been running 1.6Ghz for a little over four hours and I'm at 88%. Been using it for twitter/facebook/texting/music. I definitely don't mind the extended battery cover since I can run double the clock speed without killing the battery.

Or an uncalibrated battery meter. The first battery cycle after a flash can give you some wonky stats, I usually run a calibration and at least one more full charge/discharge before I can pass judgement on battery life.
I seem to be getting IMPOSSIBLY good battery life on this. I've had it off charger for 3 hours + and have been using it like crazy installing apps and configuring. I'm still at 75%.
I fully charged and ran battery calibration when I got up. Who knows, maybe it'll drop 50% in the next hour, but for now, this is stunning!
PS I'm also getting like 15% phone idle, so I don't know if that's accurate.

And E, I assume you are a power user. What is am average day like?

I'm going with what Matty said as you all don't know what I've gone through with this phone. I've gotten all of the mods I was supposed to. I did everything possible I really think it's just a bad battery

Non-SBC kernel.
Tiamat 4.07 with -75mv lower voltage.
Admittedly, I've been using my phone constantly for the past three hours.
Before that, I was at 70%.
Stock battery.

Best Possile Battery Build

Alright guys, ive been hearing different things.. people are getting an upwards of 9 hours of battery from like using texting and that sort of stuff.. stock kernel and rom will give you 5 or 6.. Ive heard some people get 18 hours of use from texting and what not..
Basicly i just want to learn to see what different kernels and set up everyones using and to see how many up hours (like a text or 2 every minute or 2), they get out of it.
Really curious to discover new android things especially battery power with a 4.3 inch screen
Im running Chopsuey kernel with nocturnal shooter sense 3.0 rom and sitting at 768max 245minimum
(yes i made a slight topic typo D=.....)
ICS / CM7 ROM
Kernel : Tiamaat 4.1
undervolted -100mv, 825mv floor
Smartassv2 governor
Battery life: 2 days+
nice to hear you get such good battery life.. i get about 6 or 7 hours of medium usage
I get abysmal battery with every kernel except poonsense for whatever reason. Lasts me all day with texting web phone calls constantly. Seems like setcpu actually makes my battery die quicker

I'm under clocked at 768 max and 245 min and running chopsuey kernel.. I really need someone to tell me some step by step. I know people getting 2 days worth on 1 charge continuous use
The screen shot is from barely using my phone..

Did you do a battery calibration? If so not download free battery calibrator, charge you phone too 100% the which is I think its 4200mah. Install setcpu? Change different governed see what works with your phone. I recommand to try different kernel see what works.

I never believe anyone's claim for 2 days of battery life on a battery of any smartphone.
The most I ever got was at least 8 hours under moderate use with about 40% to spare at the end of the day.
This was achieved using a combination of a froyo rom (myn's twopointtwo) with nets 4.3.4 havs-cfs-more-sbc kernel under-clocked with set cpu and juice defender toggling my mobile data on/off whenever it was needed.
Highest I've personally seen is 18 hours of high use

Not sure if you were asking me or teh, he would be the guy to explain undervolting. I don't use any apps or scripts to uv. Just the setup I posted. Proper battery calibration will probably do the most for improving battery life though.
Btw, I just realized those screenies were not from the Xplod rom. I believe they were from the TN stock, and I would of been running the Chopsuey kernel. Same CPU/governor settings tho.
