Guys: What kind of wifi internet speeds do you get on your acer iconia (using speedtest.net)?
I have a real problem. I have a N-router - Linksys wrt150n and a fast comcast connection - 25Mbps. Most of the times I get 30-32 Mbps download with the wired LAN connection (and an upload of 5-6 Mbps). My wireless b/g/n laptop (when tested on speed test) gives me anywhere between 17 - 19 Mbps UP/5-6 Mbps DOWN which seems reasonable to me. However when it comes to Acer Iconia A500 tablet, I only get 1 - 2 Mbps download/4-5 Mbps upload (tested at the same time as laptop). I know iconia is rated b/g/n. So why is there such a difference? almost 1/10th. Is there anything that I am missing?
My phone is 5 ghz and there is no interference that I can think of - If there was anything - it should affect the laptop wireless speed too. I have tried Dolphin browser, Opera browser, and the stock browser. Same results.
Please let me know if there is any setting on the tablet that needs to be enabled? Something else? I have fiddled with router settings also - auto vs n-only - almost same results.
Device = 3.1 HC/Stock Rom/Rooted
I just tested this - I get around 44Mbps for both download and upload with my n router. One thing though - I use the dedicated speedtest app, not their website. Can't run it on my laptop as it's still packed (I just got back from my vacation), but I guess the results would be similar because those are roughly the numbers I pay for.
Just tested it with the browser - I get 36Mbps for download and 22Mbps for upload. The funny thing is that after the test is completed it offers me to download Google Chrome - the "faster" browser . Yeah, right!

I get 72 from my Linksys/Cisco router and a fast Comcast connection. My laptop will go up to 300 but mostly stays at 144. I think this is because the A500 while using "N" it will only use it at 2.4 band (at lease that's what heard) the Lenovo v560 uses both 2.4 and 5 bands so I think this is the reasons for the speeds. I really don't have a problem at 72, fast enough for me with the tablet.

I pay for 10 down and 1 up. This is what I get with my tablet (just ran the test), and is typically what I get on my laptop, and desktop. I'm using a b/g router though as it's the only one I could find that I could get a 7db gain antenna kit for.

Your wireless speeds are backwards on both your laptop and tablet. Did you invert those by accident? Typically you get, and pay for faster down than up?
Wireless N speeds
I have a Linksys 4200 router and get 20 down, which is the level of service I'm subscribed to with Comcast.
HOWEVER, periodically, the tablet will downshift to 2-3 and stay there. If I reboot the A500, it still gets only 2-3. But if I recycle the router, it returns to 20. I'm still not sure what's going on, but in my case, this phenomenon is repeatable. I can always return to my full speed by resetting the router.
This is an old post but I know people are stii having problems. I tried to tweak my router ans always got about 2 meg down and 4 up. Was going through my garage sale stuff and found an older hawking antenna. What a difference it gas made in my 2 story house. Not always an option for some. Still havent tried much outside as I just got this.

You said you ran the tests at the same time which you shouldn't for several reasons:
1) Sometimes one device hogs more bandwidth than the other giving unfair results
2) The bandwidth will be shared (ie no one device will get top speed)
3) Power management on routers will cause fluctuation on the speeds even depending on how close each device is to the router
If you want a fair test, disconnect everything from the router (wifi and wired) and test one at a time (3 times each and take an average). Only that way can you be sure. Also try and keep each device roughly the same distance from the router when testing,

Mine recently is always just dropping signal. Is it the channel? Should I use 40mhz upper or lower? I know the basic channels everyone uses and try to avoid but is there something better. I tried using the upper , upper channels and it wont connect at all.
A500 speedtest problems
I know this is an old post... just wanted to chuck my results in.
I have 120MB DOWN and 9-12 UP (Virgin media) on a "Superhub" Netgear.
On the PC directly cabled I get those speeds +/- a few MB.
On the Acer 500 tablet, 6m away in the next room I get 0.8 - 1.2 mb DOWN - 1mb UP !!! If I sit right next to the router (0.5m) that increases to 2.5 mb DOWN and 3 mb UP.
Somethings is going seriously wrong here!!!
I´m not that tecky.. what can I do to improve this?
my speed
Ping: 10ms
DL: 31.37mb/s
UL:18.65mb/s
I just flashed a custom ROM ([WIP]A500/A501 JB-MR2(4.3) - V6 from Tegra Owners), and my browser and wifi transfer speeds are awesome (for the first time since honeycomb). It isn't the router. It's that ICS build that Acer unloaded on us. Unfortunately that custom ROM lags while going through android and won't let me play dots (huge lags). I don't know what I'm going to do because I can't go back to that stock ICS. Browsing the web was like being on a 56kbps modem (most of you are probably too young to remember that nightmare).
I wish someone knew a fix for the definite wifi problem on stock ICS so I could just go back to that.
BTW, when doing a speed test my speeds would ramp up to normal but were sluggish getting there. When browsing or transferring files they were always awful.

I see this phone is WiFi compliance with 802.11 n but when I connect it to my WiFi router (which is set to use N only on H-40Mhz - showing 130Mbps rate) the phone shows 64Mbps only , why is it so low ?
For instant my Vaio laptop connected to the same router shows me a rate of 150Mbps .

the actual data rate will always be lower, if you have say virgin at 20 Mbps, what's the point of having a wireless speed any faster than that?

It's important for streaming HD content from phone to TV via DLNA , so a good bandwidth is required for this .
PS> If is not important to you or you don't understand something why do you bother to reply ?
I never thought to check this before but my phone is only showing up as 39mbps over 802.11n
I think it may be because although it is N compliant it only has one physical antenna and full N speed requires twin antenna's
Correct, the SGS2 has only one antenna and can therefore only transmit/receive one spatial stream simultaneously. Since it also appears to only support 20Mhz channel width it can only reach a maximum of 65Mbps. Your 130Mbps router has two transmit/receive antennas for 2 x 65 = 130. And even though it's running at a channel-width of 40Mhz (p.s., this is not advisable if your environment happens to be filled with other networks - it impacts on both your WiFi performance and theirs) this doesn't affect the SGS2 as it can only run at 20Mhz.
Edit: Here's a list of 802.11n speeds, with the number of antennas required: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/802.11n#Data_rates

I am able to stream HD videos from my phone using DLNA on 802.11g at a max speed of 54Mbps, so 802.11n is not required to stream HD video via DLNA
Thanks @hazzamon that explains why I have only a 65Mbps connection, tough the Vaio laptop shows 150 Mbps (do you think it has more internal antennas) ?
@achillies what application do you use to stream HD content from phone via DLNA to TV ?
For instant I'm using IMediaShare from Market and when I stream a Full HD (1080) movie from my phone (by the way this is a movie recorded with the phone) the content is played after a while with interruptions , like is buffering or something.
The guys from IMediaShare tells me the bandwidth required to stream Full HD is at least 10MBps (notice Bytes not bits) ... so I'm wondering how can you do it at 802.11g (54 Mbps) ?

I use the Allshare app that came with the phone, no third party apps
That Allshare thing is not working for me, is not able to share the movie with my TV , it says it cannot share , where IMediaShare works fine (except the interruptions).
Anyway I'm not sure if Allshare works fine for you at 54Mbps streaming a full HD (1080p) from the phone ... did you really test this at 1080 ?
54Mbps =~ 6 MBps which is way under the minimum 10 MBps ... so I'm not sure what you stream at 54Mbps but maybe not Full HD content .

64 Mbps is good beyond HD Mbps rate
highest ive seen bluray go was 23 Mbps
No matter how hard I try, with my buffalo router the sgs2 doesn't go past 54 Mbit. The nexus one does, to 64, though.

Either you or they are getting your units wrong - 10 megabits is more than adequate for internet or network-streamed H.264 video @ 1080p. A stream of 10 megabytes per second would make your average ethernet network (100Mbit/s) struggle significantly! Even the Blu-Ray spec specifies a max audio/video bitrate of only 48 Mbit/s (~5.7 Mbyte/s). (Source)
@thepriest thank you, too (sorry about that)
@hazzamon actually I was paying attention to that bytes versus bits , the guys from IMediaShare told me the problem I have is related the minimum required bandwidth 10MBps (Bytes not bits) -I have their email response .
But I did not have found anywhere (google it) the exact information for bandwidth required for streaming full HD.
But I've noticed something, my Linksys router has 2 antennas and is 802.11n compliant (with N-only at H-40 it reports a 130Mbps rate tough not sure what the real throughput is ).
But I've noticed the new Linksys routers with dual-range (2,5 and 5Mhz ~ 300 Mbps rate) and Gigabit ports are advertised as HD streaming compliant , mine is not advertised for that as it's an older model and not dual range.
So I'm really confused about the required bandwidth for HD streaming.
So my actual router reports a 130Mbps rate, the phone is connected at 65 Mbps, and Vaio reports 150Mbps (?) ... anyway the same movie (recorded by the SGS2 phone at 1080) is played fine for 1 minute and after it starts the interruptions, 1 sec interruption, 2-3 seconds play, then again interruptions and so on ...
Strange, the same thing happens with the same movie streamed from Vaio laptop , so in this case it looks like is not the phone's or IMediaShare's fault is either the bandwidth or my router or 10/100 switch or something else ?
And something else who is playing the streamed video, the source device (phone) or the receiver device (TV) ? Not sure my question makes any sense.
PS> thanks dialiv I will try vlc, too
I've tested this a litlle bit more :

The phone reports a 65Mbps connection to the router.
And here is the bandwitdh graphic where the Vaio laptop streaming the same movie via WiFi (the movie is played a little bit better but still with interruptions - as the Vaio laptop reports connection to the router at 150Mbps)
And the same movie is played the best via Ethernet cables - very little interruptions .
So I think there is a bandwidth issue or I need to change the router with a dual one which support up to 300Mbps.
Tough I guess I will never be able to stream Full HD from the SGS2 phone as it can't get more than 65Mbps connection having a single antenna.
How busy is your local area for WiFi? The poor performance could also be caused by interference.
quite busy, I can detect at least 10 other AP, I've tried to find a free channel using WiFi Analyser
Literally received my N4 about 30 mins ago and Ive set it up etc. Ive noticed that the Wifi seems to be weak compared to all my other devices I have around me (it goes up and down and actually dropped out altogether once).
Anybody else have wifi issues?
hmm...i think so, yes
Gnex speedtest on wifi 5.19Mb
N4 speedtest on wifi 2.11Mb
not an "issue" but definitely slower
I have seen an improvent over my HTC Desire. With my 50 Mbps DL / 5Mbps UL
My results:
With WiFi N: 45 Mbps download / 5 Mbps Upload (The speedtest app just gives random download speed as I don't even get to see the download speed bar) Singal is between 40 and 60% according my router.
With WiFi G: 19 Mbps download / 5 Mbps Upload (Pretty much maxing the G bandwith) signal is 95% as the router is in the same room.
I just got phone this morning. I get my max 25 mg dl 5 upload and have had no issues
Mine was working poorly just as you described. I turned off WiFi optimization in the settings (says it helps with battery life, so I'm assuming this weakens WiFi) and I looked around in my router settings. It was set to 145Mbps (neighbor-friendly mode apparently) and was giving me less than 5Mbps up or down. After bumping it up to 300Mbps (performance mode), it is now giving me full speed for my 30/5 connection.
I'm having trouble connecting to my cisco router. It would say either "obtaining IP address" or "authenticating", then the connection breaks and it attempts to reconnect.
No issues for me.

I had an issue on mine where it lost connection with my wifi router, then kept showing no networks in range (usually there are around a dozen showing up due to neighbors). I tried turning wifi on and off, going into airplane mode, finally had to restart the device entirely to get wifi to detect any networks again. Hasn't recurred, but it does make me concerned.
Seems good to me:

I'm having problems connecting to my Buffalo router with WPA2 security. It connects just fine to my guest network that uses WEP authentication on the same router, but it just says authenticating or obtaining IP on my main network. My router is a BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N450 - WZR-HP-G450H using DD-WRT... Is Buffalo crap and that's my problem?? My Gnex connects to it fine.
I've tried disabling/enabling wifi, airplane mode then out of it, and rebooting my Nexus 4 without any luck.

I had this issue but toggling wifi fixes it.
I have a 30mbps down 5mbps up connection at home and I get those speeds on my phone over a wireless n connection at 5ghz. No issue with wifi at all.
I have been fortunate enough to have enough Nexus 10's in stock at local walmarts to be able to validate a persistent problem with 3 32gb Nexus 10 Devices.
The first one I returned thinking it was simply defective. After the second, I suspected a bigger problem. Picking up a third tonight to do back to back comparisons has confirmed that there is a major problem with these devices and wifi connectivity/stability.
There are two problems that I've encountered on all 3 of these devices. The first is serious catastrophic signal drops at random times with no interference. The second is after network drops due to poor signal, reconnecting results in an endless Authentication/Obtaining IP loop regardless of signal strength that requires disabling wifi and then reenabling before it will be able to connect again.
The signal drops seems to happen consistently at a point in the house where I'm getting around -70 dbm. If I have a good strong signal, the drops don't appear as noticeable.
Network info: e2500 dual band router running 5ghz on channel 40 using WPA2 and 2.4ghz on channel 11 using WPA2. I've changed channels, set to static IP, set DHCP reservations, enabled 2.4ghz only, enabled 5ghz only. Unique SSID's for 2.4 and 5ghz bands. No router settings make a difference.
For good measure I swapped out the e2500 for an ASUS RT-N66U and attempted the same as above as well as playing more with security and channel width, antenna strength, etc. No difference. The issue is software/hardware related with these devices only. All other devices in my home maintain good strong signals. (cell phones, Internet TV's, Laptops, Blu-ray players, etc)
The signal drop was not observed on the newest tablet while it was still running 4.2. It wasn't until taking 4.2.1 that it displayed the same drops. The drops occurred on the devices independently of each other, again indicating it wasn't network related, but a device issue.
The pictures attached were taken at the same time for each device. They speak for themselves.

Shrug
I havent had one single wifi issue with my Nexus 10. its running the newest 4.2.1 update. Im also using the Asus N66U Router. I have mine setup to detect both the 2.4 and 5ghz frequencies. Maybe ur security settings on the routers isnt playing well with the nexus? NM: just reread ur article. Not sure how i missed the entire paragrah on the security settings u used. Im not sure then. See if anyone else posts anything. Sorry i cant help any further. mine seems to be working awesome. Sorry about ur luck. Maybe wally world got a bad batch of them in then. I dont like buying electronics from there. for some reason, maybe its just me, the items dont seem as good even tho its the same thing. I always wander if vendors send walmart their 2nds. Who knows.
n10 working fine with asus ac66 router here. I use it on the 5ghz band.. I ran a couple of iperf throughput tests and it worked great in the same room as my router and also on the 2nd floor of my house...
This sound more like a problem with your router. No way are 3 in a row going to be defective...
EDIT: sorry if that sounded asshole-ish lol. I really think you are having problems with you router, so you should look into resetting it, and setting up your router again if need be. Try that, and try going to Starbucks or somewhere with free WiFi to test as well. Hope this helps

I know you have tried a lot but I would make sure you update the tablet and then do a hard reset of your router. Seems to me like you may have some issues with settings.

Before I updated my n10 to 4.2.1, I didn't have any issue with the wifi, no discconections, no lose of signal. Once I updated, I found out that all those problems came to me.
Even if it is a 4.2.1 problem and not his router, that doesn't mean the Nexus10 itself has a problem, just the current firmware. I'd be interested to see the same wifi monitoring done using a different router, and then with a different ROM (such as CM10.1)
Nexus 10 = No WiFi Problem...
for me with a Linksys N900 router.
Have the same issue on two N10s on a Linksys e2500...it feels to be software related

Two routers, same issues with these tablets on both routers. These pictures are of TWO tablets back to back at the same time. 3 different walmart stores and 3 different unique tablets.
I've also been able to reproduce on my phone's hotspot by moving the phone far enough away that the signal degrades to around the -60 to -70 dbm. THAT seems to be the "sweet spot" so to speak. These drops when happening on stronger signals don't seem to be much of an issue unless you're streaming content. For surfing you don't notice the drop as your strength is still more than adequate. However, at these distances the drops result in freezing in browser and disconnects from the network.
Strange issue. I'm getting excellent WiFi results with my Nexus 10. My router is dinosaur... An Actiontec (not even 802.11N!) provided by Verizon with a FIOS bundle about three years ago. It's sitting in the basement at the opposite end of the house and I'm currently on the second floor. Signal seems just fine. No drops at all in a few weeks of heavy daily use. Any chance of some kind of RF interference?

Try only connecting to the 2.4 GHz and see what happens. It sounds from your post that maybe you have your n10 setup with both 2.4 and 5 GHz at the same time which is causing it to constantly pick the best signal and reconnect. For me personally, the 5 GHz range of my e3000 isnt good enough for me to even program my n10 to connect to it. I use 2.4 only.

No there shouldn't be any interference. I went over the possibilities with a Google support rep and the phones in the house operate at 1.9 ghz and one older phone at 5.8ghz, neither of which would interfere.
Additionally if you look at both devices at the same time, they were showing drops independent of each other so one device would be good at the sime time the other device drops...suggesting no interference.

Tried this and switched security to wpa personal and no change.
The is no specific issue with the nexus 10 WiFi. In fact, I've never had a better performing device signal strength/throughput wise. Look on the xda forums for any device, and you will find people with WiFi issues.
Ultimately, 802.11n is a specification and there are many different implementations of this. Some implementations have issues working with others, for a cacophony of different reasons. Seems you're having a bit of back luck at the moment.
First, you need to simplify your setup. Turn off any turbo boost modes, turn on any compatibility modes and reset to default settings. Turn off encryption. If you still have issues, research the advanced wifi settings of your router, and check nothing is set to a bad setting. If you still can't getgood results try a different router.
Done, Done, Done and Done.
The e2500 is a very simple router. No turbo boost modes, switching to the most basic n option, b/g option, specifying channels, turning off security, disabling firewalls, etc. doesn't make a difference.
And for the last time I DID try a different router using default settings and spent 2-3 hours messing with settings to see if I could find a sweet spot with it too.
Let me reiterate NO other devices of mine show signal drops. Laptop upstairs, Internet TV upstairs, Blu-ray downstairs, Two cell phones (Razr MAXX and SIII), etc. NONE, but ALL 3 Nexus 10's do. There is most certainly an inherent issue with all 3 of these Nexus 10s and they all share the same symptoms. It's a software or hardware design issue persistent on each of these. Even if I was able to resolve the issue with a very specific way of setting up my router, that would still be a huge FAIL. Your wireless device should be able to accommodate very basic and common security and configuration settings.
Instead of making a lot of claims that your device doesn't have problems and there isn't an inherent issue, how about some meaningful testing attempting to reproduce the issue as I've done?
Move to a range where you get -60 to -70 dbm, install network signal info and watch your signal strength on 4.2.1 for 10-15 minutes validating you don't have any drops and screen shot that.
Here's a back to back comparison showing the poor signal on the N10, yet great signal on a RAZR Maxx.
@ga9213
Well, if youre sure its not a router problem, you have 2 options:
Revert to stock 4.2 if you love running stock, OR try flashing several custom ROMs to see if the issue can be temporarily corrected until an official update arrives. (Optional 3rd: return your tablet to Wal-Mart for a full refund and cry yourself to sleep...the end)
I have Google Fiber Gigabit. Their Wifi router doesn't support 802.11ac so I attached one that does and so far am able to get over 300Mbps consistently and near 400 with GS5 802.11ac. Might be able to tune router for even higher.
More on Google Fiber here...

I do connect to the 5Ghz. In the SG5 WiFi connect info, it shows Link Speed as 866Mbps.
I'll try other speedtest sites as well as look into other router settings. The router is an Asus AC68U.
In comparison, my N7 (2013) tablet can do about 100-130Mbps on same router. And hard wired computers can consistently do over 800Mbps on Google Fiber.
Edit: It might be the test sites because they only use a small sample download when it notices a mobile device and doesn't get a chance to sustain a higher speed, not sure.
Question I have always had is how do you know when the device is connected the ac instead of n? Just off the data speeds alone? Does not seem to be any indicator to tell. I have an ac router and can't figure this out. Any suggestions?

Not true.
For starts the phone only has dual antenna design meaning limited to 866Mbps "link rate".
Next, WiFi has about 40-45% overhead so even at a perfect 866Mbps and perfect noise, which won't ever happen the BEST you could hope to see would be around 500Mbps and again that's all under perfect conditions.
You don't want to be too close to the router or you get overdrive, too far signal degrades.
I would say when you got around 370-380 that's probably around the realistic best to expect. If no other 5GHz devices existed, nothing else wireless connected to your router and you was perfect distance you might be able to get more but a phone is never going to see the perfect conditions and I would be shocked to see a phone do too much better. Maybe another 50M at best but that's about the limit for how the phone is engineered and real world conditions.

You may be right, thank you for the detailed explanation Either way the host servers and such that we download our data from are almost always the cap for our actual download speed of files, so we shouldn't really even reach the 300mbps that he's getting when it comes to real world use.

Yup, and that's the other thing.
Servers traditionally had faster connections because they are serving multiple users at once.
A server with a 1Gbps connection, depending on what it's doing, has a low chance of letting you max out your line even.
All it takes is 2 people and now that BW is shared. Even if you have 1Gbps and the other person only 100Mbps you now won't be able to ever max out your line.
Most speed test sites have trouble even testing, the only ones that somewhat can decent are because they are hosted on the providers net probably on 10Ge connections, and again, imagine if 11 Google internet people did speed test at same time, now that 10gig connection can't max all 11 of you out even.
Faster connections are slowly going to hit a wall. At which point only changes in the way the internet works will make the speeds useful, be this by multiple streams via different path's or just more user multitasking.
You take all that into account and now you have the HW side of things. It takes a decent amount of CPU power to process 500Mbps of data. Phones are just now getting to the point where the CPU can handle such burdens because remember, the CPU's are doing many other things at once. It's not like a router that is specifically designed to handle traffic and even a lot of them struggle at 1Gbps. Just cause something has a 1Gbps port doesn't mean it can process at that
Either way though for a cell phone I think it's great.
I personally was glad when 802.11ac devices started going in cell phones that they went for the 866.7Mbps version of AC. I was afraid they would do like they did 802.11N, single antenna which would have limited it to like 466Mbps, which while half of that is good speed wise still, with the dual you actually gain better coverage because the increased signal gained plus now have more bw for weaker signals.

I believe 802.11n at 5Ghz can only do up to 600Mbps. On the GS5, go to the WiFi settings and click on the SSID that your are connected to. Scroll around and you can see the 'link speed'. My link speed shows 866Mbps, so likely using AC.

Yeah, I actually get better performance sometimes when in next room. I have been able to validate I get an 866 link rate.
Here are the advanced options on my router. Any suggestions on what else to tinker with? Someone suggested actually turning off beamforming, which didn't change anything.
Frequency 5Ghz
Enable Radio Yes
Enable wireless scheduler No
Set AP Isolated No
Roaming assistant disabled
Enable IGMP Snooping disabled
Multicast Rate(Mbps) auto
Preamble Type long
AMPDU RTS enable
RTS Threshold 2347
DTIM Interval 3
Beacon Interval 100
Enable TX Bursting enabled
Enable WMM APSD enabled
Optimize AMPDU aggregation disabled
Optimize ack suppression disabled
802.11ac Beamforming enabled
Universal Beamforming enabled
Tx power adjustment 150mW (also tried up to 200, the max)

Preamble Type - changing to short should get better BW, not by a lot but some.
Beamforming should be fine either way. Most the newer 802.11ac stuff has it properly finally.
Beyond this though you can't get too much more out of a cell phone. Due to it being a cell phone the tx power on it alone is going to be limited. A laptop has the ability to use much more power thus faster rates.
Link rates are almost always useless though, they give you a very rough idea of signal strength/quality but far from a true reading.
I would say you're probably at the limits of the phone CPU and power wise.
Wow ! DL Speed?! That's freakin' awesome!
Great ! You guys are very fortunate to have that kind of internet connection DL Speed.
Here in the Philippines, We only have a maximum internet connection of 10-15 Mbps that is for commercial or business type connection $140 - $170. 3-5 Mbps around $75 - $130 for residential use. It really depends on the ISP(s). It's so unfortunate and saddening to know that the connections they are providing which really cost so expensive are definitely from either Sprint or AT&T which we all know that these two ISP Sprint/AT&T are the best when it comes to Internet Connection and also known for the reliable and cheap plans/offers. Hopefully AT&T and Sprint have their own branch or company here in the Philippines.

Over the past day or two I've noticed the download speeds on my Z5 to be slower than my other devices on WIFI. I'm not sure if it's cause and effect or just a coincidence but my phone fell 2ft/70cm when it slid off a table and fell onto timber flooring landing directly on it's back.
The phone has a case but I've done a factory reset and the problem still persists. Perhaps I've damaged the antennas but my mobile data appears to have had no change in speeds. The speeds varied on my phone over these 2 days ranging from 1-3mbps compared to the normal 6mbps i get.
Check your modem/router frequency that it use to send out the WiFi signal, and if you can change the frequency of your modem or router then change it to something else and do a Speedtest.
With a app called Wifi analyser you can see which frequency band is best to use when you connected to your Wifi.
If none of the above steps helps, then I have no idea what it could be, my Wifi works great anyway, getting 11 mb/s download speed from my modem.

Yep same as you, in addition if other devices are connected to the same band at slower speed they will also kill the speed of any other devices on that band

No the case won't affect this, in addition what are you actually talking about, your speed has gone to crap accessing files within your network, or are you talking about the internet. Because there are so many variables that can affect internet speeds, and a huge percentage of them are fully beyond your control.
I ran some speed tests at a friend's house to see what was going on and it seemed to show similar speeds against my friend's devices also connected on WIFI. I'm suspecting it to be a problem with my router but will run a few more tests with a borrowed router.
I am having problem with wifi, it says connected, but no internet access.
This is happening lately, mostly after last update .182
I don´t know but since then I have restarted my router for three times now, on laptop I don´t have any issues.
Speedtest gives me 219/200mbit/s on my z5 compact, could be better but it's acceptable for a phone

I'm getting the opposite - mine's a disconnection issue. No WiFi connection issues but when I leave the house my E6653 sometimes fails to drop the WiFi connection for mobile data so I'm miles away with "Connected, No Internet" with a bang (!) next to the WiFi icon for my home SSID - far out of range! Turning WiFi off and on again sorts this out, i.e. mobile data connects instead.
Anyone else?
It seems fine for me but bluetooth and wifi on at the same time causes some imense lag.

Don't use same name on the the 2 networks, and make the ipcams connect to the 2.4GHz band.
Eg: 2.4GHz is named [email protected] and 5GHz is named [email protected]_5GHz, also disable band steering (if your router/ap supports it) if the cameras are supposed to be 5GHz "compatible" but actually don't work on it.
