Random White Screen Will not Boot - What to Do - EVO 4G General

I found a solution.
Setup: I have the Evo 4G, running the latest rooted 4.56 sprint update. I used the "infected" rom version. My phone was working great for about 3 weeks. No problems. Then yesterday, I pulled my phone out to use it and it was just stuck at the white HTC EVO 4G boot up splash screen. I pulled the battery out and the same thing happened. Here is what I did. Note that the LAST step actually fixed it, but I'm just documenting what I did. Also - I DID NOT LOSE ANY DATA! All my phone settings were left intact and didn't have to re-download anything.
1.) did a Nandroid backup though the recovery - just to be safe
2.) Rebooted to recovery and re installed the "infected" rom. rebooted and nothing changed. It was still stuck at the splash screen
3.) booted into recovery - Did a Dalvik wipe. rebooted
This fixed it! Not sure exactly what was wrong or how this fixed it, but I hope it helps someone else! The best part about this is that I did't lose any data at all.
Best of luck!

[Q] Need help for my Vibrant

Here is the story. I've got my Vibrant as a replacement for my older one two weeks ago. The old one had a problem with Home button responsiveness and at the end I decided to go with replacement. After some testing with identical firmware (freshly flashed) on both phones I found that the the new one boots much faster - around 12 sec difference (the time my audio widget is fully loaded) and overall I was very happy, until today when my phone screen turn of during some work on the browser. The buttons light was on and the screen became black.
1. I did battery pool. First boot was very slow. Force close for some koush process ( probably clockworkmod) came out .
2. I did 'wipe cache' - multiple force close after that
3. Factory reset - it was somewhat booting very slow and I decided to go with Odin.
I was able to put the phone in downloading mode and flash JFD with repartitioning. Everything looked ok during the process, but after reboot it plays Tmobile animation, startup sound, shows the letter S and stucks there.
I am able to get in stock 2e recovery. If I choose reinstall packages it goes to clockworkmod recovery (I thought clockworkrecovery should disappear after flashing with odin, but it is there) I tried flashing different usb ports - no difference.
The phone was with stock JI6 firmware, rooted with OCLF, ROM Manager with clockworkmod installed. Was working fine till today. I didn't experience any lag issues and neither of the lag fixes were installed or tested.
I played with clockworkmod recovery options format: system, data, sdcard.
I was not able to format boot - some error.
I am not a very good writer... sorry if somebody gets upset.
I will appreciate any help or idea.
Thanks
Fix for your problem
Sounds like some of the rom is either corrupted or the factory reset did not have J i-6 in it.......not enough info. Personal message me and i ll help you fix this problem.

Tried to install CM7 - now I can't get anywhere.

Hi all,
I'm having a little problem. I have researched but everything I've found leads me back to square one...
So I followed this guide to installing CM7 on my M2. Please note that I have in the past successfully rooted my phone, installed the Argenstone ROM and one other basic Great Britain Rom. So I'm not a total nub. However at this stage I have a phone that's is useless to me...
My phone is rooted. I have Droid2Bootstapper installed and I managed to get the CWM 3.X installed. I downloaded the all-in-one.zip file from the CM7 ROM thread (the zip is actually called EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip - hope that's not an issue?)
I booted into CWM and applied the EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip and after (without a reboot) wiped everything (I had backed it up previously).
I rebooted the phone and...well I get the Google logo with the Motorola M and the Cyanogen bot as the 2 'O' characters. Then after a while a 3D rotating 'square' and the android writing and logo 'shimmering' in and out but that just goes on forever. I left it for an hour at one point and just gave up.
Now I can't even get past the Google logo. I've tried restoring my previous back up but that won't work either. I can't boot into the OS to actually use RSD lite to flash a known working ROM over the top.
When the LED turns blue and I hit the volume key it displays "Android BootMenu <v1.0.3>" which is different to the CWM 3.X that I was getting prior to applying the EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip file.
From here I can select to recover the last 'latest recovery' which when done loads into CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.6-defy.
Basically I'm at this point where I seem to be able to load just about every boot menu under the sun and do everything but actually launch the damn OS.
How can I get out of this hole? Preferably I'd like to get everything back to the stock ROM the phone came with so that I can start from scratch again.
Any bodies help would be more than appreciated.
Cheers,
- Matt
EDIT: I have even used CWM 4.X+ to try and restore the Argenstone ROM. it goes through the whole process of checking the MD5 sums, restoring the system and boot images etc and seems to work without any issues. I then wipe all data and reboot. Nothing - still the same cyanogen Google logo and the only thing I can do is boot into all the CWM menus.
*sigh*
Argh feel like a true idiot now. It took me about an hour of searching earlier but I've only just found/remembered how to get RSD lite to see my phone (pwr+volume+camera) and I'm wiping the whole thing to the factory (vodafone) ROM. Might take the opportunity to take it to Vodafone and tell them it never gets a damn 3G connection lol...provided this flash works (touch wood).

N7 wont boot after flashing Kernel - borderline bricked

Okay so I finally got my shiny new Nexus 32GB a couple days ago. Rooted it last night no problem. This morning I flashed Trinity Alpha4. worked great but my OC/governer/etc settings wouldn't stick. So I tried to flash the latest build of Faux Kernel. After flashing it got stuck in a boot loop. So I got back into Recovery and flashed Trinity back on again. Now it won't boot at all. After the splash screen the device completely locks up at a blank black screen. Went back to Recovery, wiped cache/dalvik, reflashed Trinity. After going through the "Android has been upgraded, optimizing apps" thing, it got stuck on "starting apps". After a couple min. I forced it to reboot, and again just gets stuck at a blank screen. I apparently completely forgot to do a Nandroid backup which I realized when I tried to restore it back lol.
Anywho, any thoughts on getting the thing to boot? Bricking it 2 days after I got it home is not my idea of a good time.

You might try and flash the stock kernel which should not allow any under/over clocking or under/over volting. Otherwise flash back to stock using the manual way here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796 or download the Nexus 7 toolkit and use it to do the same.
Try WugFresh's Nexus Root Toolkit. It has an option to go back to stock if you're soft-bricked.
Well I just did a factory restore/wipe (because Im SO looking forward to setting everything up again...) and it made zero difference. I'll try the stock kernel if someone could point me in the right direction to find a copy of it.
NVM found it. I'll give it a shot.
Ummmm okay then. I had my N7 turned off while looking for a solution to this fiasco. I picked it up so I could flash the stock kernel, and it had turned itself back on. Not only that, but it was fully booted up. Granted it's back to the initial setup after doing a factory restore, but there we go. It automagically fixed itself. Now to spend a couple hours putting everything back how it was. Yay.
Protip children: Always. Be. Nandroiding.

[Q] Help - phone only boots one time, then boot screen until restore/re-flash

I've spent close to most a work day now searching for an answer but am stumped.
I'm on MDL.
Downloade and flashed latest version of Goldeneye. Works great. After a bit, went to reboot phone.
Phone stuck @ boot screen ("Samsung" w/ unlocked lock below).
pull battery, same screen.
Wipe/reflash - all is well. Then re-boot, and stuck at same screen.
I have tried restoring multiple Nandroids and loaded 2 differnet roms. All with same result.
Also tried wiping data and restoring ESF backup and restoring my first rooted stock backup.
Same issue. works great till I reboot. Obviously somehting isn't sticking.
Any ideas? I hope I gave enough info
what recovery are you using?

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I37 with 4.2.2

So I rooted my phone long ago when it was new just to get wifi teather which worked great and has been ever since. I never installed the AT&T update that it kept asking me to do because I did not want to lose root and the teather ability. I recently installed CWM Touch Req0very because I wanted to try a new ROM. This worked fine and I can get into CWM now. I completed a backup using CWM, thankfully. I then tried to load the LiquidSmooth ROM for this phone. Before doing so I used CWM to complete a factory reset, cache wipe, and dalvik cache. I then chose the LS zip file and it loaded and appeared to be successful. I then rebooted and got the Samsung unlock padlock image for a few seconds and then the screen went dark and the power LED turned blue. I let it sit for a few minutes but nothing changed. I pulled the battery and rebooted but got the same. I then went back into CWM and restored my backup which took my phone right back to where it was, very thankful for that. What did I do wrong and how can I get the ROM to install properly?
I tried to reinstall the ROM and when it booted it got further. It went past the LS splash screen and then started pulsing the LS ying yang type logo. It did this for about 10 minutes so I pulled the battery and tried again which it just repeated the same process. I pulled the battery and restored my backup again. Nothing seems to work as easily as the hours and hours of videos and pages I've researched. Why does this seem to work so easily for everyone else?
