[Q] Finding and Returning to Stock ROM - G2 and Desire Z General

Hi there
I am currently attempting to return my Desire Z to stock so I can send it back for repair. Currently I have managed to return to S-Off, however I still have Root and clockwork recovery installed.
I am having trouble finding a copy of the stock Desire Z rom to flash. I have downloaded an .exe from shipped ROMS but it doesn't seem to want to work. Is there a .zip of the stock ROM I can flash and then reflash the stock recovery. Or is there a way to get the .exe to work.
Cheers

exe? thats suspicious, that is a windows executable...

Error upon flashing....

Hi, I have the 2012 Nexus 7, Wifi only, 16GB, its running stock 4.4.2 rom at this time. I have unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp, and rooted using Wugs Nexus Rootkit (Bless him lol). But now whenever I try to flash any Rom, I've tried about five from different places and downloaded on multiple devices then put them on my nexus, and they will not install. I get this error about md5 which I have no idea why it would be the error every single time I try any different Rom... But here is what it says.
Here are two different ones but both say md5

You need to downgrade to stock android 4.3 as you are trying to flash a 4.3 Jellybean ROM

Try switching to CWM using the rom manager from the play store. I had the exact same problem. Everytime i wanted to flash something via TWRP it would always fail, but once i switched to cwm the problem went away

I pretty sure you dont have to downgrade to 4.3 to flash a 4.3 rom. As long as the tablet is rooted and the rom you want to flash is for the N7 it should work, at least it always has for me but TWRP seems to be having a problem flashing roms lately...correct me if i'm wrong tho

My last post lol..... I did some research and found out the old version of TWRP has problems on 4.4 so you might have to update TWRP to the lastest version in order to flash zips on 4.4 kitkat. There's a post somewhere around here that mentions it and has a guide that tells how to install the lastest version...

Flash stock VZ room to S5 developer

My GF needs a updated (stable) VZ TW rom for her S5. I don't remember how to flash a stock VZ ROM to my girlfriend's S5 using twrp without locking the bootloader? Any help would be great. Thanks. And any suggestions on stock TW ROMs?
Anybody?

I don't think you can without locking the bootloader

If I understand/read it right. I only flash the ROM zips, in twrp. Kernel is included.

Since the lock info is almost completely contained in Qfuses on the SoC, it should work just fine to put a normal verizon rom on it...I don't know why you wouldn't just use an AOSP rom though...
Thanks. It is for my GF....she's needs the stability. And on CM ROMs the GPS doesn't work. Maybe I can convince her to try something different though. Ha.
You can flash this.

It flashes recovery, though--make sure you don't do that if you don't want it.
Thanks. Will give it a try tonight
Nope didn't boot. Gave it about 13min
I had to flash TWRP in Odin to restore.... (A scary couple of minutes. Lol)
You really can't brick these things. Just create an unbrick image (there's a thread about somewhere around here) and put it on an sdcard. I'm serious--I absolutely hosed my phone (no bootloader) and that brought it right back.
Of course, I'm not issuing a _challenge_

I'm really curious at to why that ROM wouldn't work. What did you use to flash it?

Thanks...I'm using twrp, I was using Phil's. But I'll don't remember. When I get back into town I'll try again. Is there an update to twrp maybe? I would rather use a cm ROM but I could never get the GPS to pick up satellites.

Wi-fi not working after using non-hlos.bin in 5.1.1 then upgrading to MM

I was on MM temporarily, then used the return to stock tool to go to 5.1.1. I flashed the non-hlos.bin modem file and everything worked fine. ]
Now i flashed a stock 6.0 ROM and my wifi is not working. I assume there is a similar modem file i need to flash for MM, but couldn't find it after searching around (i saw one post that i think might have referenced it, but the link was dead and i wasn't sure it was MM anyway).
I looked inside the modem folder of the ROM itself, but nothing seemed obvious to me. Any ideas on a file or a zip i need to flash? (sorry if this is elsewhere, i did search)
I found all modems in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3272486
but there isnt for XT1575 "Pure" in that thread.

Thanks.
I still don't know what file i'd be extracting. Would i just be looking for another NON-HLOS.bin file?
As for why not flash the entire ROM (a good question):
1) I am not currently rooted, and for some reason (i can't really tell you why) was trying to avoid rooting this time around.
2) I have been fighting getting a ROM to install for about 2 weeks. After finally having some luck yesterday, i have everything mostly configured now and kind of just want to leave this as is for a bit.
But, if that's what it takes, I'll be rooting and flashing again.

Yes, you are correct on the bin file...used the odexed zip file if you are not going to root...
