IMO class doesnt matter...I have used data2sd on a class 2 sdcard without the lags
Dunno about app2sd, as i havent tried yet...
try with v3..if it lags, then go for v2, and if it lags, then got to v1
I have a 2gb class 2 sd card and everything works fine with app2sd v2
Many people still use the stock sd which came with the phone i.e. 2gb class 2
It doesnt lag - even when using dual/tri boot
Try app2sd v2 or data2sd
Both wont cause lag - never did for me

I'm running android on an ADATA Class 6 8gb microsd card. But I'm experiencing SODs after 2 days. I think its SD card corruption thats causing the SOD
Anyone using the ADATA SD card?
Thanks!
Did you try it only with one build, or did you try a few?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
i'm using it with the following perfectly fine.
baseband - 15.42.50
kernel - mdeejay S 3.1
Build - mdeejay Froyo revolution
I have been using the same sd card for the past few months running all different kind of android build as main OS for my phone without adverse effects.
Put the card into a computer and run a checkdisk for fixing errors...
Ive tried several roms. Matt Leo, MDJ Clean, MDJ Evo Sense and they've all had problems. I've scanned the sd for error and defraged the sd card as well.
I might try a few radio combination, but I'm currently using the latest radio. I've heard the 12 and the 14 radio works well.
I used an class 6 ADATA microSDHC card for a while, also 8GB. Stopped using it when I found out it was significantly outperformed by the class 4 Sandisk card I was using before.
It would seem not all class 6 cards are created equal.
i am using the 16gb ADATA (class 6) card, and have no problems with it.
//edit
why u defrag a SD card ? .. there is no need to do that

Just want to find someway to fix this 24 hrs sod problem. What did you guys do?
Did you try formatting the card? (Don't use the quick format option)
yesir... but after about a day or so the sod comes back
i'm using adata class 4 8GB card. Android is running fine for me. Although, i do reset my mob once a day almost daily...because i need to use software in Winmo, but it when running android there are no issues..
I have the same card as well, i'm not really experiencing any issues with my card so far and its been about a week or so. Im using VBN alt 2 with latest radio .. mdj froyo sense revolution 1.6
I have tried several builds but the result is disappointing. None of them can boot when I want to use EXT4 partition for data on it with my large SDHC card (16GB)
My 8GB Class 6 microSDHC runs fine but when I want to use Class 10 16GB card, the system crashes on boot...
I think 15GB FAT32 partition (I created 1GB EXT4 partition at the end of the card) is too large to be seen during Android boot or what?
Do you think it will work when I create only 7GB FAT32 and 9GB EXT4 it will work? Or should I switch the order of partitions (EXT4 first?) (it is not good solution but good for test)
Can someone from cooks help here? Thank you very much.
Firstly, this is the wrong section. There is a Q&A section explicitly for questions like this.
Secondly, I have a 16GB card with exactly this setup (15+1) and it works perfectly. Your card is possibly defective. Grab this little program and test it.
I use a 16GB CLASS 6 SD CARD for a long time.
maybe is something wrong with ur 16GB
and never create a partition bigger than 1.5g for your EXT4
I still guess the problem is your 16gb card..
I am also using a 16GB class 6 micro SDHC with no issues so far.
My partitioning is 14+2 (FAT32+EXT4) and runs like a charm.
I agree with the others, there must be something wrong with your card.
Thank you. I will test it using the program...
THe card otherwise works correctly...no bad clusters, missing files....perhaps the Class 10 is only a advertisement and the card is too slow? (because I heard that if the card is too slow then the system may boot too long and also become unresponsive (force close or wait for main android process etc.)
SO to give a public anti-advert I will reveal that my microSDHC card is KINGSTON CLASS 10
I have the same card kingston 16Go C10 and no pb !
My advice, make your partition (after full format fat32) with CWR (swap 0)

I've been trying everything to get a NAND install using a (brand new) Kingston 16gb class but have had no luck. The same process works on my sandisk 2gb card. I posted the question earlier today for any advice.
I got same problems with my 16 gb class 10 card (adaTA).
The card is 100% error free and on winmo work superfast. Unfortunately when i try to make ext partition on this than is going to work so sloow and with errors.
I have also PQI 8gb class 6, sandisk 8gb class 2 and samsung 16gb class 2 and I have to say that ext partitioned roms work fastest on slowest sandisk!!!
What is going on?
SanDisk 32GB MicroSDHC. no problems with it.
i used gparted livedisc to format 1gb ext4 partition. works great
32 GB ok but what class?
I recently buy PNY 8GB SDHC card. Then I use it in my X8 running 2.2.1 FroyoBread. the problem is, sometimes the card stop working. when I play games, the game just stuck, and show FC messages. I restarted the phone, but same problem happens again. so I decided to do some test with the SD card. I got zero marks for SD card read/write speed in Antutu Benchmark. that means my SD card is not readable! I've tried to set sd card cache size to 2048, but I still can't get rid of the problem! anybody facing the same problem with their 8GB SD card?
No, im am using my 8GB SDHC card for a few months without any problems.

whats the brand then?
I´m using Kingston 8GB SDHC Class 4, and everything works, like playing games, file explorer and everything else that a sdcard can be used for.
I even set sd cache to 4096, and it works.
Try to install a newer version of FroyoBread, it should work on 0.18, 0.19 and 0.20.
Or install ponanovn´s latest version of miniCM, I´m currently using it and everything works.
Maybe try fully format.
I'm using a TOSHIBA 8Gb SDHC class 4 and I have never had this kind of problem...well, sometimes I had to format it because I couldn't download anything from market in CM6 ROMs...I suggest you a format from phone's settings...neither from recovery nor from pc...

thanks for the reply guys. maybe the problem is the SD Card itself. will try to find a new one today.

Hi, what class is your card ?
I have a 32Go class 4 sandisk and it works just fine, some people seem to have problems with class 2 and class 10.

I had this pb with it after using WP7, I don't know how but changing my bootloader from Maglrd to Clk made it work again on the device.
Try formatting it with SD Formatter 3.1. It solved my problems. Set the options to format type FULL(overwrite) and format size adjustment to on.
Hi
is there any way to move apps to my SD card running stock fw?

You mean other than using Marshmallows "format as internal" feature?

yes without formatting
I was unable to find a way how to, so I am going to go with no.
I couldn't find a way so ended up "formatting as internal" my SD card

I know OP has used a work around, but if it helps anyone in future, you can manually move apps that support it, even when in the 'format for internal' setup.
Go into 'Settings', then 'Apps', then select the app, and tap 'Storage' and 'Change':

I guess its only for whatever apps support it like before, none of my apps offer me that option.
No option to change on my G4 either

Of course moving to SD has always depended on where the apps developer wanted it to install, but it looks like that option has been removed since the SD format as internal came along.

What cards are people using for internal?
I've tried a "Kingston 32 GB Micro SDHC UHS-I Speed Class 3 U3 Memory Card " but was reported as too slow
Now order a "SanDisk Extreme 32 GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card up to 90 Mbps with U3 Ratings" to try

I have that same as card, and when I tried again, it just worked.
A suggestion: move only the apps you don't use often on the SD card. I did that, and there hasn't been a problem except a 2-3 extra seconds for the card to be recognized and mounted after boot.
I moved all of my 'reading and office' apps over because they are big but don't require lots of speed to work.
An example of what should be moved: Pokemon Go doesn't work well on the SD card, so it stays in internal memory. All of the Microsoft office apps (but not OneNote... I don't know why the option isn't there) were moved to the SD card.
I think that stuff you use all the time or things that really need to be fast when they are run should go on the system but the other stuff that is big but you don't use that much and don't need to be very fast should go on the SD card.
