I would like to hear about this feature.
Anyone know? or read somewhere?
It has "USB 2.0" port, but I think it is microUSB port.
Xoom has USB host functionality (although we must hack to enable it).
I am hoping Galaxy Tabs has it as well!
It doesn't have a USB port, you need a proprietary connector, a la Apple, to connect to USB. I'm assuming that you'll have to root to get USB host enabled if the Xoom is any indication.
Anyone tried this kind of cable to connect USB Stick or a mouse or a keyboard to Ideos X5?
I tried it, didn't work. Although I'd have to try with a powered USB HUB...
Your roms should be supporting usb host mode
There are networking devices that are controlled via serial port. I usually hook them to my laptop's USB port via a standard pl-2303 controller and access the serial port via Putty, SecureCRT etc. Drivers for this controller are long included with standard Linux kernel, although I'm not sure about Android's one.
Is there any way to hook the controller to Nexus's USB host and get shell through it?
Or are there any other ways to get COM console access using a Nexus 7?
Did you ever get anywhere with this?

Hi everybody,
I am looking for a magnetic micro usb adapter / cable for my Windows Yoga Book.
What i want is to protect the micro usb port: instead of plugging and unplugging the cables to charge and to synchro data with a magnetic micro usb always plugged in.
But up to now, I haven't found any magnetic micro usb that is able to synchro data on my WINDOWS Yoga Book. It charges OK, but no Data possible.
Has anyone tried or found anything ?
Thanks
