Ns4g coming from E3D

Would I be able to use roms for the regular nexus S on my ns4g or would it not work right?

I also returned my EVO-3D for the Nexus-S 4G. I am a sucker for this Super AMOLED screen and pure stock. I am rooted with Oxygen 2.2.1 ROM and Matr1x 5.5 kernel. Phone is smooth as water and good battery life.
I had the EVO 4G too was just getting sick of a heavy brick phone. And the screen look washed out. Compared to the EVO 4G the Nexus-S feels like a big upgrade in tech. Compared to EVO-3D the Nexus is on par speed wise I just like the form factor better on the Nexus fits in the hand perfectly.

there are plenty of good roms for the nexus s 4g. just download rom manager and download a few. I like CM7 nighties with matrix cfs kernel. A lot of people like MIUI (it is closed source, so no 4G... and 3G speeds suck in my area). Hell, even stock rooted kicks the EVO's ass! There are plenty of good ROMs though, you'll be happy with any of them I think.

I'd honestly recommend Oxygen 2.2.1. Fast, stable, and has theme engine just incase you get bored with one color lol.

This. I love my NS4G. it's one of the most beautiful phones in the market, the screen and form factors are PERFECT, I really hope the next Nexus phone has a similar form factors cause i won't be getting a 4.3+ inch phone... I haven't really gotten to root my phone cause i love how smooth stock is but i might look into that Oxygen rom.

Definitely recommend Oxygen ROM it is a pure stock rom but gets rid of the bloat and speeds everything up. But still makes the phone look and feel like stock.

Has that been 100% confirmed? if it is, i guess i won't be buying it.

Damn I'm running Pete's Tom because I remember bugless roms from the Evo. Oxygen on the other hand was voted most stable and reliable rom on the DHD is it the same guy? And I left the E3D because it wasn't like oooo super cool like I thought it would be and i wanted this phone anyway at first so I said hey why not. Plus sense for boring.

Epic 4g defectors..

Just out of curiosity, how many of you guys defected from the epic 4g? I did and I have no regrets. Not a comparison thread by any means. Just curious.

LOL Me! i just got my Nexus S like 2 days ago and i'm already all "eff epic"... It was an awesome phone though, but i just can't understand why samsung would release a phone with so many things NOT working.

I'm selling my epic now cause the old lady needed a captivate on att so now I got epic captivate and nexus and a empty bank but this is going to be the hardest sale for me if it goes. For a mp3 player and hd camera/camcorder it will cost more to replace thoseand in those areas the nexus can't compare.

anyways i just defected a mere 20 minutes ago. i got a 2 day old nexus 4g for 160 bucks i wonder if this was a good deal. anyhow i still have the epic. i am awaiting for a remanufactured one to come to me and once i get it i will root it mod it and page plus it for my moms.

Just watched qb king video 1 click 3.0 I'm rooted just got cm7 & about to get miui!!! I want Samsung & sprint to get gingerbread out for epic its a Great phone if the epic would of had 2.3 I would of not got the nexus I loved the epic now its my moms who coming from iPhone so she all confused dosent know how to use it yet lol I told her the iPhone a smart phone but androids a genius phone 150 on the IQ!!!

The taste of Miui I just got on this phone may have won me back over. I think that anything is possible if someone has the will to do it. I flashed a bunch of builds that hung at the Sammy screen and seemingly overnight things started happening fast. With my luck, Gingerbread would get released the day after I didn't have this phone anymore. I think I was just going through withdrawls from not flashing for a couple of days. Also, after seeing what the ET4G forum is like, I am happy to be a part of this one...I'm not going anywhere any time soon...and thanks

Its just to many things better coming down the pipe, and the Epic is still Epic by all accounts, and it has a keyboard, so, I'm happy. And this place is much better then that place lol.

I ain't going to lie I like the epic 4g forum guys here help when you need it & all the funny post people put up that made me laugh my balls off lol it only took me 1 day to root & flash I like my nexus its sexy! But the epic to me has better video & picture quality & more memory there's give & take with both phones I got a brand new nexus for free at best buy & payed 30$ for some buy back program in 6 months I can bring it back & they will give me 50% of what it cost retail 350$!!! & then I could use that towards the nexus prime the E4GT or whatever ever phone I like

Evo for galaxy s 4g

I had a Guy who wants me to give him my evo for his galaxy s 4g. Should I do it? I know the galaxy has a 5mp camera and a .3 in the front although Samsung makes some dam good sensors. I also know its 16 gigs built in memory vs my 8 gigs with expandable memory. No notification light and a smaller screen. Hmm I don't know what to do lol help please. Thanks in advance.
EDIT : CRAP can a mod please move this to evo 4g general? Sorry been up for 26 hours. I know no excuse.

I say keep it. You'd be better trading it to sprint for a galaxy s II or waiting for the should be galaxy nexus.

I don't know what people are smoking, but if you are getting a trade for a Evo vs Nexus S 4G, absolutely do it! There are many threads here comparing the 2 and the Nexus always wins.

Up to you nexus s is decent from what iv heard dk if it has signal probs might want to look for that as Sammy seems to have issues with it.

If u like sense i would stay with the evo. Nexus radio is weaker. Both are great phones and still have life left in them. Personally i like the evo line better.

i have the evo, my wife has the nexus s 4g. i love her phone a bit more. it's much more sleek, just as fast. if it were me i would probably trade.

I had the ns4g for a day. Couldn't stand the lack of microsd slot and the lack of a notification light. I ended up exchanging mine for an EVO and haven't looked back.

yeah. i don't really care about either of those things. i know a lot of people do though! i say go check out a nexus s in a store

I bought my wife and daughter each a NS4G on launch day bth Its faster and slimmer but i still like my evo better. I like the bigger screen and im stuck on MikG roms with the wired theme. The color saturation on the NS4G is horrible IMO. Too yellow. Keep the evo.

I have used Vibrant and IMHO its a piece of crap compared to Nexus but i was using stock rom .Nexus S is much better IMHO.There are so many roms that you can flash..Vibrant was really slow and touchwhiz sucked.

This phone is awesome

I've had so many phones, just sold my HTC Raider LTE and bought this thing not knowing what it was like. The only thing I miss is HD video recording and the camera. Otherwise for a phone that isn't dual core, this puppy is fantastic. I unlocked the boot loader and rooted last night and things just got even better. I don't regret my decision 4 days in.

I've had this phone for 4 months now and let me just say that because of the devs here, my nexus s has been such an amazing device. It's pretty cool what this "old" phone can do with all the different ROM and kernel combinations available. I've gotten so much outta this guy it just blew my mind.
I've recently switched to a galaxy nexus but I just really wanted to say thanks and this seemed like an appropriate place to do it.

Thanks to awesome devs here can our lovely Nexus S easily beat lots of new smartphones with bazillion cores and tons of RAM.

Yes me too am still loving my NS that I bought at Xmas.
I'm not really interested in any other phone for the foreseeable future. I was looking at the Galaxy Nexus and thinking of purchasing one this Xmas if they drop really low, but I find the size of the NS absolutely perfect.
At the moment I'm very happy. Best phone I've ever bought.
