Hi,
When i connect my vega (running vegacomb) to my hd tv, it only fills 3/4 of the screen. I have tried different settings on my tv but no joy.
However if i play an mp4 from my vega it then fills the whole tv screen... but not if i play a AVI?
Any one help?
Also just tried watching youtube and that fullscreens on the tv but stays normal on the vega??
Very strange...
No one else had this problem or any ideas how to fix?
Now i have been shown the bug table i can see it is a known bug.

Hey
I'm using the Virtuous Xoom v. 1.1.2 ROM on my A500, and all of the sudden I can't play videos any more. The gallery just dims down when I press a movie. I've tried rebooting multiple times without any results.
I'd really rather not have to reset the device.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: All I had to do was change the UI language, and then it worked again. Odd.
Thanks.
You might get more luck posting this in the ROM thread instead of a500 general. Since you've modded your tablet, that no longer qualifies as an Acer issue it's now a ROM issue.
Hopefully someone will come along with better advice.

Thanks, I'll try that!
Just a thought.. were you using moboplayer?
I was on a trip and my 3yo was watching videos on my tab when the videos just went black but audio still worked fine. Everying else on the tablet worked fine, but when I tried to play a video, the screen would go off.
Later I discovered, she had turned the brightness all the way down by sliding her finger down the left side of the screen while the video was playing. And this only affected videos, not the whole tablet.
No, I was just using the default video player
Hi all,
I jumped on the ICS train, right the day it became available. From that point on I have one bug, I'm not able to fix.
If I connect the Transformer to my TV via the HDMI Cable I get some strange freezes when watching fullscreen flash videos. This happens with youtube as well as with any other flash video site.
After switching to full screen the video stops, screen gets black and I'm not able to leave the fullscreen mode with the back button anymore. Only help is to leave the browser with the home button and kill it afterwards.
Can anyone confirm this?
Transformer was bought in Germany and is now running the rooted US-Version of Stock ICS.
Thank you very much in advance!

Did you ever get this problem fixed?
I purchased a Nexus Player the other day and rooted the device. Did all sorts of cool things for testing to see how I'd like to get a final setup going. Once I had everything set, I decided to catch a movie on Netflix. After choosing a movie, I hit play and the movie starts to load. However, right when it got ready to play, the screen started to flicker green. I backed out and tried again but same green flickering.
At that point, I tried to cast from my phone and tablet to the Nexus Player and still got the green flickering screen. I then tried to just play something from Netflix directly from my TV's Netflix app to see if it was an issue with the TV or the Netflix service but it played fine.
So, seems like the Netflix app was broken on the Nexus Player. That's when I decided to try Google Play Movies on the Nexus Player. Same deal... Screen flickers green when I hit play on a movie. I then tried to cast to it and still get green flickering. If I cast to the Chromecast on that same TV, it works fine. So, I thought "ok so looks like video playback is broken on the Nexus Player" .
Wrong again! I tried the Hulu app and YouTube app directly from the Nexus Player and those stream fine. Looked like only Netflix and Google Play Movies apps were broken. So I uninstalled the apps and cleared data/cache but still the same issue.
I unrooted and did a factory reset but still got the green flickering. I checked for updates but I was already updated. I returned my unit thinking I had a defect and when I got the new one, I tested again. This time without a rooted unit. Before I did an app update on the new device and fresh out of the box, I tried Netflix and Google Play Movies. Same deal...green screen flickers when I hit play. So, I then proceed to update Google Play Movies and Netflix since they had updates available. Still the same issue.
With that said, the two units (rooted and stock) have issues with those two apps. I called Google for support and we got up to level three support. They suggested I try to exchange it one more time and now I have a third unit with the same issue on those two apps. Still green flickering. Even my HDHomeRun works well streaming live TV to it.
I don't know what to do at this point. Is anyone experiencing these issues with Netflix and Google Play Movies on their Nexus Player? Any other suggestions? I switched the HDMI cable and even the ports. For what it's worth, my TV has HDMI 2.0
For what it's worth, it sounds like the only thing you haven't tried is a different tv/monitor. Do you have another screen you can try it out on? What kind of TV is it?
Google results are weird on this one. Free recommendations to find and install Netflix 1.3 and if that doesn't work then try installing "Full!Screen" or a screen rotation forcing app and rotate it a few times to make the flicker go away. Not a solution, I know, but maybe a workaround.
Same here

I've had these exact same problems with mine since day 1. these things are trash.
Hey guys
I just got my nexus player about an hour ago and straight away tried to cast some TV shows to it but apon this I discovered the resolution for whatever reason really really sucks even though it should be in 1080p.
It's all pixelated when people/characters move there's distortion around them too anyone have any idea why this is?
EDIT: Same happens even with files directly downloaded onto the nexus player :S
No one able to help at all?
I havent tried casting anything yet. I will try tonight when I get home. What are you casting and from where, phone, tablet, pc? What application are you using to cast? Ill try and mimic your setup and see what the results are. On another note I did notice the screen getting better on youtube and what not when I changed the settings for my display from auto to 1080p 60mhz. Have you checked your display settings in your options?

Hi all,
after searching for weeks after getting my Shield TV I have been trying to figure out a problem that is driving me insane. I have a Vizio M65-C1 with the Shield plugged into HDMI 5 (fully compliant).
My problem is that at entirely random times ( about once every hour or two) the Shield will "loose sync" with the TV for a split second, and the screen goes black before coming back and continuing on perfectly fine like nothing happened at all. This happens in any app and the surprising thing is that Netflix doesn't pause when this happens ( which I thought it did when there is a signal issue due to copy protection? correct me if I am wrong please... )
My question is, has anybody else ever heard or seen this with the Shield TV? I had my Xbox One on the same port for a few months before the Shield and it never had a problem, albeit it only ran at 1080p. My main thing I am trying to figure out is whether this is a TV issue or a Shield issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
I have the same issue, but with the M55-C2 and the Nvidia Shield. I'm on firmware 1.3.15UHD. The Nvidia Shield does not drop out when connected to my two other TVs, which are not 4k.
Others are having this issue as well.

FUUUUUUUUU thank you SO much for responding. At least I know where the problem lies now. I have literally been scouring for weeks. I have no idea how I missed that thread.
Well the thing that sucks is that this is seemingly out of my control to fix then :/
EDIT: Apparently you copied the link to this thread Has anybody been able to workaround this for now do you know? It's not super annoying, but hardly ideal either.
EDIT 2: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-hdmi-disconnect-reconnect-problem/?offset=25
Apparently this is definitely a problem with the firmware. Searching handshake with that firmware version got me here.
Nvidia told me to change the refresh rate to 59.9hz as a temporary solution. So far so good
Ditto for me... Same model TV.. Same issue.. Will try setting to 59.9hz to see if problem persists. It's annoying when it happens in the middle of a game ..
Update: Changed the setting last night and the issue seems to be gone.. Thanks for the info !
