I have a problem, i had my LG GT 540f with android 2.1 and tried to update to 2.3.5 Cyanogen ... in the process it had an error and didnt reboot, so it was stuck in the middle of the process, when i unpluged it and turned it off it wudnt turn on again ... im trying leaving it with no battery for a little while, then imana try to turn it on ... Is there any chance to recover it from a brick? ... and if so, wht can i do guys.
Tnx :3
KDZ
Did you use KDZ updater? If it fails on KDZ updater, you're phone will be possibily permanently bricked. Try putting your phone in download mode. Attach the phone to your computer and run it while turning on.
First i was using this aplication to instal 2.3.5, and it went to Download Mode, then it got suck there and then i took the battery out, it turned off, once again i tried with the KDZ Updater and it went into download mode, then i got this error message and it wudnt reboot so i took the battery again out, when it tried to turn it on it wudnt turn on ... im letting it without battery for a few so check again D:
It's bricked
It's happened to me too

Try booting into either Download (Volume down + power) or Fastboot (Camera + Power) -- Instead of pressing the power button you can plugin the USB cable.
If neither of these work, and your PC is unable to find the device... then yer, sadly it's bricked and needs to be returned to LG Service Center.

Try plugging one end of the usb cable while holding down the volume buttons now plug in the other end of the usb cable while still holding the buttons. This should get you to download mode and subsequently you can odin back to stock.

Need help tried to get into flashboot mode now the phone is bugging out. all I did was got root and went perfect then I'm trying to use the flash too program and flash a rom or something. and it was telling me to connect into flashboot mode then press the ok button on the PC to start the program couldn't connect. so I kept trying and before the phone didn't want to get into any type of recovery or flash mode now the phone if I turn it on without any USB in the phone shows the Sony sign sits there and reboots by its self. or if I just plug it into my charger I freaking still get a green light and its stuck in the flash mode how can I get it to just turn on normal so I can have a working phone. Sorry for the long story its just odd I've never had a phone where if you pressed a few buttons and the PC never even saw the phone that its freaking out like I dumped a bomb in it. but nothing was wrong I had rooted perfect and turned it off a ton of time before trying to get into flashboot mode. Thanks for any advice everyone

i got the same issue by you so the only solution i get is to reflash generic 2.1 with flash tool and root xrec ect..and reboot with the charger plug and let's the phone charge reboot again with cable plug and when the green light disappear on boot then flash your rom with xrec. so remember don't flash with flashtool when you in xrec this made a autoflash mode and stay in flash all the time and eat your battery and maybe damage the phone if you stay in flash for long time.

Hey so you did end up getting out of this mode when it happened to you? And Im getting what your say but im sorta confused so I had android 1.6 and just finished rooting and was trying to put the phone in flashboot mode. Then I downloaded the flash tool and I moves to recovery files the the data/local or where ever they where supposed to be. Then tried to get into recovery but couldn't so I downloaded a rom or generic firmware for my type of phone. but when it said to put in flash mode by just holding the back button and put the plug in and press the ok button it wouldn't find the phone. That's when my problem began I tried to just take the battery out load normal to restart but it then just gets to the Sony sign and then turns off. The software didn't even touch the phone its getting annoying cuz I just want it to turn back on. Can you or someone post a like to where I should go with those directions you posted please

Hold the power button until you get a black screen. Download LG Mobile Support tool and the LG Drivers. Plug USB In and then hold the Power + Volume Up key. On your screen, click Upgrade Recovery. From there, you can do a factory reset through download mode of your phone.

In case you did the latest firmware ota upd, there is a topic that can solve you problem as long as you can access TWRP(even if you didnt do the ota it will,i tried that myself) Here is what you need to do.
use TWRP's "terminal command" option to run the following:
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
You'll have to type that whole thing out, and be VERY careful with spaces and punctuation. One wrong letter and you could nuke your phone.
This will probably fix you problem when it has to do with any update.
Thanks for the responses. I finally fixed it.. I started the procedure from scratch with a new laptop and somehow it worked lol

It happened to me and now phone hanged in download mode and can not connect to pc. Did you have a solution?
Solve
Guys! I had the exact same problem today. My solution was to keep pressing the "try again" button every time the error appeared on my computer screen. It took some time but the error was appearing at different levels each time in this order : 45% 57% 65% 80% and next the instalation was completed. If it doesn't work try switching to another computer if you can. After the firmware update hits 100% your phone will restart and the LG logo will appear(the led changes its color during this process). At this point you have to just wait a while. Then a dialog box will appear saying that the applications on your phone are configuring themselves. After that your phone will start and work normaly. The cause of the error is the lack of memory on your phone. If those idiots working for LG would say "YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH STORING SPACE" this stuff would not happen.
The phone is not rooted!(IMPORTANT)
Phone name: LG G2
Phone model: D802
Old software: 4.4.2 (KitKat)
Actual software: 5.0.2 (Lollipop)
I hope this hellped you solving the problem.
My lg optimus exceed 2 will only display on screen firmware update which is froze the phone won't do anything Please Help! !!!!
Turn of the phone and enter to download mode again and try flash to stock kdz file with lg flash tool
I had same problem "firmware update", simple just remove the battery and sim for 15 sec. then put it back and restart.
Hello
I can't access my LG g2 after trying to wipe the system and it runs on frozen screen. Kindly help out please
My LG x power died and I went to plug it in and a screen popped up saying,"Firmwire Update 0%", so I kept it plugged in for the next half an hour, and it still said 0%. I've tried resetting it and powering it off but nothing seems to be working. What do I do?

Download lg flash tool.
Download lg g2 stock firmware.
Press volume up button and insert usb cable. You will see download mode.
Open lg flash tool and flash the kdz( original firmware) through flash tool.select cse flash.
My LG V20 got stuck on the Firmware Update screen. It appears every time I restart the phone and I have to take the battery out. If I start the phone plugged in it starts normally. I was able to do a factory reset, the phone started normally a few times without being plugged in, now it's back to the Firmware screen. I can use the phone but need to restart when it's plugged in. I hope Oreo Update will fix it. I don't know much about updates, but do big updates like that reinstall the drivers as well?
Hello everyone I also have this kind of experience so many times in my g2 mini.stuck on Firmware update. What I’m doing is,
1. remove the battery to turn it off. Plug your charger and before plugging it to your phone hold the volume down and plug in until tou see the android is updating; or
2. Just simply hold the powerbutton + volume down until you see Android is updating.
I would love to see your feedback if it helps.
well after i succesfully brought back my d801 from the dead because of a hardbrick demigod crash handler: critical error and then a whitescreen shows off, using the SRKtools i was able to have download mode again, but then after i boot up my device it only shows the lg logo and the led flickering about 5 seconds and then it shows an android with his jelly open and a red triangle of exclamation i think this is because i don't have any system preloaded
so i try to install a kdz with flash tools but everytime it keeps stucks on 2% and then it doesnt go any further
so i was wondering if any of you could have a solution for this problem thanks a lot and regards
Hi
Look in step 5 in this thried http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/mega-tut-how-to-fix-bricked-lg-g2-t3055033
The stuck at 2% mostly occurs when phone charge is below 30%.Charge it to full and try to flash kdz again .else try tot method.

You can follow this thread to get back download mode.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595
Make sure to flash only your stock images (eg:,laf.img should be from a D802 stock)
So, here's my situation, my phone suddenly turned off last night while installing a game, when i tried to power it up, it "blinking" on the boot logo, it keeps turned on and off, so i reckon its battery has run out, so i charge it, then it works, it can boot to system, after it shows around 80% i unplugged the charger but the phone then suddenly turned off and again, blinking on the boot logo.. so i charge it again just to see it boot to system and shows 80% battery.. i tried to charge it to 100%, but at 100%, the phone suddenly died, again..
at first i thought it might be a battery problem, or power circuit thingy, but here's the catch, it can hold for 30 mins + on bootloader mode..
can someone tell me what is wrong with my phone?
EDIT: flashed stock ROM and Recovery, still no use
EDIT2: Did the QPST as suggested as Rwepradeep, still blinking on lenovo logo
EDIT3: Solved! Battery was the actual problem

okay so i did the qpst thing, it can hold on at download mode until it finished, then after that the phone reboots, and it happened again...
i don't get this phone, it works well on bootloader and download mode, but not so long at recovery.. not to mention i can't even boot into system (can't even past the boot logo lol)
Okay so, i took it to Lenovo Service Center, they told me something wrong with the battery, apparently it hold up on bootloader because the bootloader mode didn't took so much power, so even a broken battery should hold up a little.. Changed the battery, now it works well, thanks for all the help..
