So I ran soft .602 like I have a few time before already. This time I'm on the red Droid eye loop. I can't even access the phones recovery. Is the phone fully bricked?

Recovery is a tad different on the new kernel. You still use HOME & POWER until you get the ! triangle, but then press both volume Up & Down at the same time.
Once you get into recovery mode. Do a factory reset and you'll be set

Well my Droid 2 has koush's bootstrap installed, but my brothers droid x boots to recovery everytime he powers off his phone. Everytime my phone powers on, it goes directly into the droid boot screen and the only way i can get it to load recovery is by manually doing it in the bootstrap application. What am i doing wrong?
is running the strap a must each time?
Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
You need to go to bootstrap and hit reboot recovery when you want to get into recovery.

Well it isnt but i just assumed that it was normal to do that. Thats what led me to post on here. Lol
It is your brother's phone that is operating differently. Yours is doing as designed.
I have Fusion rom installed, used to have Liberty. Either way... every time I restart or turn it on, it starts in recovery. I select" reboot system now" and then it'll start fine. Any ideas?

Did you install Koush Bootstrapper? That will fix your issue.

I love seeing this question asked =)
this is a blessing man. It may be slightly annoying sometimea, but the first time you have a problem with your phone and it starts into recovery, you will be thankful for it. This is just a safeguard that the devs are building into their roms since so many of us mess with our phones so much and constantly need to recover backups. I think from liberty you can disable this feature. I personally love it and have been very thankful for it

Is anyone else not able to get into recovery? I can't access stock or clockworkmod recovery.
When I try to do a factory reset through the phone phone boots into bootloader with an error message.
As always thanks for looking.

DXrecovery doesn't work with gingerbread, you gotta use the D2recovery instead

How do I get the D2 recovery for my DX. Sorry for the noob type?
So no stock recovery either?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA Premium App
you need to get an sbf file of 2.2.1 and then use rsd lite to flash it to your phone... then you can use clockwork to get back.
I understand that. I'm trying to wipe data to clear up the constant sync error except I have no way of wiping data. Make sense?

Recovery Access in GB
Besides using a reboot into rocovery app, you can also shut down the phone, then pull the battery, put the battery back in and the normal Vol Down + Power will get you into Clockwork Recovery. Seems like GB is in some kind of stand by mode even when you power it down.
I sbf'd my phone to the stock gb sbf because I kept having so many issues getting the ota to download but now when I power on, hold power and home, it goes to the recovery but the symbol goes from arrow and a box to the triangle and exclamation. Any idea what went wrong and what I can do to fix?

When that pops up just push the home button or the search button and that should go away
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA Premium App
Thats what I thought but no go unless im supposed to wait a few minutes.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
I just did it to get a positive answer and I had to push the volume up and down keys at the same time
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA Premium App
I just did the same. I could have sworn it was the search button though.

The search button was for froyo recovery, since you flashed gb, you have to do vol up+vol down

Slightly old thread, but I'm a noob and I want to contribute...
Download problems with OTA were probably because you had root, and you didn't properly unroot (happened to me, z4root didn't delete superuser.apk)
GB seems (to me) to check for extra stuff in /system/, like superuser.apk
SBF back to stock froyo, which removes all traces of root, then get OTA.
the vol up + vol down fixed it for me to.
thanks
was trying search and power...
Her phone is not rooted and she didn't try to mess with it. She was just charging it and it just stays stuck on the "mytouch 4g" screen. I can get into the recovery but none of the options work. I press on factory reset but it just gets stuck on the mytouch screen and nothing happens.I've left it for like 15 mins and nothing happens. Does anyone know what is wrong with it. Not even factory reset works

Try downloading the unrooted gingerbread update in the Mt4g forums and flash it if you get the pu fail error then the phone is dead but you can get a free replacement from tmobile if that is the case

The phone turns on so I don't know why it would be "dead" I mean it's not bricked. Also can't get a new one bought it on craigslist a while back.

clicked on fastboot (cuz bootloader option is in there) and gave me some lines and said wrong image or file). And when I click on it again it now gives me the option to select bootloader (first time it didn't even give me an option to click on bootloader option it just ran by it self) and it just goes back to the original screen that says fastboot, recovery, factory reset, sim lock, and image crc. And yes I did rename it and put it in the root of my SD card
I still hit the thanks button for trying to help me out.

Try doing it again from fastboot make sure the file is named correctly
The filename should be PD15IMG.zip
Make sure its spelled exactly the way I typed it
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
