Hi there m8´s...
I have now edited this and added the answers to my questions...
Btw:
I have the 3G device...
And I am not using 3G or gsm at all...
Question:
Can i then without any problem use the "WiFi only" roms ??
Answer:
Yes, you can use the roms and kernals for the WiFi model (7510) on your 3g device (7500)...
You WILL loose 3g and gsm in the process...
- at least until you flash a 7500 kernal and ROM again...
Question:
Do i have to use the 3G versions for my device ??
Answer:
Only IF you use 3g or gsm, if not then go ahead and flash WiFi only on your device...
I think it should work.
I have seen a guy who accidentally (from my impressions) applied 3g only rom/kernel and that disabled 3g but i think the rest was ok.
I whould give it a try - if you have problems you can go back to the stock rom.
NEVER EVER take advise from people who just "think" they know. They are just guessing and really have no idea.
It is not recommend to flash any 3rd party ROM onto the Galaxy Tab 10. None of them are as stable or reliable as the stock ROM. It is recommended to avoid them.

Do as he says, never take his advise cause he thinks he knows something.
If you not caring about 3G support, I recommend checking out Tasks ROM, the last 5-6 pages talk about exactly what your looking for.

See the last few pages of that thread. ROM is running GREAT on my 3G tab, and is overclocked with pershoot kernel. Just follow my instructions exactly and be sure to flash the proper kernel if you wanna overclock!
You WILL lose3G though.

If you're not using 3G, flashing the wifi only roms should work for you.
And I say thats no problem. You can simply use it without being afraid.
Just gonna lose 3G ability.
I have now a WiFi only rom in my 3G device, and it is working great...
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL...
And now i also use the 1.4ghz 7510 kernal...
It is working great...

Long story short, I had the uk desire HD and loved it. My only complaint was the washed out photos and 2g service...(rogers)
But now Telus has launched their new hspa network in winnipeg.... so I could have it again in its full glory.....
I am on my phone right now (2g) so I can't research much...
How are the latest roms and kernels?
Any gingerbread ports yet?

The Telus device appears to have different audio chipset, so current custom ROM's are resulting in the loss of sound to your device, which being a phone is currently a bit of a show stopper bug

whoa, this is horrible news.... and lame all at the same time.... so no one has a telus device, working properly? Sounds like a simple driver tweak, but I am no developer....
I was about to flash my dhd tonight, and it was one of the main reasons I picked it over the iphone 4..... this could be a short lived purchase.
Also, is it ALL sound? The handset won't even work? /cries
If you look through the "no sound" thread you will see a fellow member wrote a new kernel allowing you to use different roms. Im about to try revolution hd myself right now.
Is that you kakarot from Redflag? you and your phones
Or if you want to stick with stock for now without any other kernels, you can downgrade using the "downgrade from 1.8x/1.72" thread and make a gold card and go to town. Then search for the "randroid" telus rooted 1.84 rom.
ahahha, yes it is me.... lol, my phone issue is getting much worse it seems... as I now have 2 nice phones on 2 different companies....
are they "specific" roms only that have this fix? any links appreciated. thx again....
I am not a big fan of stock, I like to root/unlock/flash/custom/kernels... I had the desire hd uk version, but got tired of 2g.... thought I would do the telus one because of the new hspa network (which so far, the upload is amazing, but download is pretty darn average).
I think I will pm u
search for the "raidroid telus rom" and use that one for now. You can use the revolution rom and use the Telus kernel.
Trust me, it works with either of them. Until the source gets released (prob next week) thats all we have for now (which is quite a bit for a new phone)
Im rooted and unlocked on Rogers.
Yea, Thx. I tried it but the sound was horrible....so now I am on the stock one.... I need more flashing, Hahaha..... I'm on tells but my rogers works as well.

Has anyone had a problem where after flashing your telus sim could not connect to the thelus network?
i have rooted and s-off and eng s-off. downgraded worked fine obviously. had the no sound problem but telus sim still worked. after flashing to a different ROM my telus sim no longer works in my DHD. seems to work with rogers and bell though. my sim also works in other DHD's but not mine.
any help is greatly appreciated!

Nope...not yet. It is very desired ability people are looking for though...I'm sure someone will develop something soon.
I really hope something is dev soon... I am currently using the risky DFRouter App. that could get me stuck in modem mode for ever & ever at any moment... Also it would be really great to have ad-hoc support... (in order to see & connect to ad-hoc signals) Take care everyone...

Officially supported in mango!
*bump*
wpcentral.com/mango-officialy-supports-internet-sharing-mobile-hot-spot-feature
Now that it is official, will we have this feature baked into custom roms? tried searching, but could not find anything related to it
I'm interested in this too! Its one of my biggest barriers from switching from android. I Frequently tether to use instant messaging and for evernote syncing when i'm out studying in places without wifi

Isn't that true for only real wp7 phones about getting stuck in modem mode?
As the topic suggests can someone tell me how do I make them run on 3.1 ota........I searched the dev section already.....I need a method which doesn't break future ota's or is simpler.......(even if it breaks ota....there should be a way to fix it.......)

so far you need a rooted devices and some modification and extra file to make it work... and since the "OTA" removed all related to 3G.... I don't think it's in the plan of ACER to allow user of A500 to use 3G Dongle
So....that means I can't use the dongle on 3.1 OTA??

the 3.1 never spoke to bring 3G dongle compatibility
if you was dreaming about, sorry to broke your dream.
You want 3G on a tablet, go on a custom firmware who support 3G.
but becarefull 3G dongle are limited not all are supported.
If you wanna a 3G Tablet you should wait for the A501
I prefer connect by wifi tablet to my phone and then to 3G with my phone

Same thing. Mobile network capability is not part of the A500 ROM, nor will it EVER be, officially. That's why Acer make the A501 model.
If you want cell capability, either buy an A501, or use the mods/custom ROMs from the dev section.
Is there any way we could fallback to 3.0? Using 3G dongle is really important to me. If only I knew from the first time that 3.1 OTA removed 3G feature
Well as a newbie, flashing to a custom 3.1 ROM which support 3G is a little bit risky to me Will try that someday for sure, but not now ^^

3.0 didn't have any 3G/2G features either, so going back will achieve nothing.
You either use the mod, a custom ROM, or you buy an A501. Those are your options.

what the point to fallback to 3.0... that was not supported neither.
if you really want 3G... my advice is... use your phone as 3G Modem Wifi>3G
why?
well
1 Sim
1 Bills
1 think to think...
if A501
phone bills
3G bills for A501
etc. etc..
I have a 4g xoom that I bought used and use only on wifi. Does flashing a rom that doesn't support 4g simply disable 3/4g? Or will it not work at all? Are xoom roms even worth flashing or is a kernel a big enough speed increase?

Flashing the Odachi kernel will give you overclocking and lots of added functions while preserving your 3G/4G. It's good to keep it even if you don't plan to use it.

Would I not be able to flash back to stock to get it back?
I actually moved back to an OS that deliberately does NOT have 3G/4G. I don't have the service and just use WiFi but even in Zirplane mode, after the upgrade, my battery life went from days to hours.
Totally out of left field: dell released a new rom for softbank.
The changelog does not seem to state much.
Android 2.2.2
Build date: Jul 10, 2012
Build: 29579
Dell Stage 1.6
The rom is completely identical to 366 except for the following files:
<root>\boot.img
<root>\amss.mbn
<root>\dbl.mbn
<root>\dsp1.mbn
<root>\osbl.mbn
<root>\system\build.prop
<root>\system\app\quickoffice.apk
Out of all those, only boot.img seems to have changed more then just being resigned/trivial changes.
Dell normally holds a rom for 1 month to test before releasing, but the normal release date for a rom built in july would be mid/late august.
So for whatever reasons: they held it back for a month.
It also only includes a trivial amount of changes, so it's not much more then going though the motions of a release
I received the update SMS today and came here to check. Figured you would have some additional info on this.
Still Froyo? I guess I'm never getting a phone from Softbank again.
Blame Dell/Qisda's dell team/Softbank
The SPro's still on GB too.
The Lenovo LePad S2005 (ie the "Opus one") got ICS back in April.
I dont even know why they released 369, I cant tell if it even changed anything as far as softbank's changelog is concerned.

maybe the user or the dev is old school type .. and pretty much on comfort zone...
Official roms arnt custom roms, they cant simply release it and hope there's no serious issues. They have to have staff on hand to test for 3 weeks before releasing.
Even if they only changed like a dozen lines of code at best for it.

I currently sport the Dell official 360 rom and I was wondering if it was worth the bother of udating to this one? has anyone given it a go and does it work?
Any pointers would be appreciated! Also interested in whether it requires a complete reset or if it upgrades leaving data/apps in place? :fingers-crossed:

TheManii may put together a zip package for it though

are we going to get an official ics as we had before from olleh an official gb ??
2.5gb is 500mb nand + 2gb innerSD.
I dont expect them to ever make official ICS.
Even 2.3.5+ isnt something I'd expect.

Has anyone installed this yet? Does it improve wifi performance and is it ok in the UK? I hate being the first at these things!!
Well I took the plunge and generally I am pleased with the results. Wifi seems much more stable and most things work, although mms does not seem to be working at the moment. Also softbank does not come with a sms app pre-installed, instead they use their own combined messaging app which I have not tried yet. I installed an sms app from the market and it works ok, apart from mms

The MMS issue I was having was me being an idiot - I had run out of credit I have never used Wifi Hotspot. There is an app that comes rolled into this rom which seems to be for tethering but i have not used it. The WiFi in general is excellent and seem way more stable that any other ROM I've used to date (and I've used quite a few). I think it may be easier to look up a 3rd party (barnacle I think) tool to get the tethering working - but I know very little about this.

I've been using it for a while and generally all is good. It seems better on battery than the 360 rom, the WiFi seems more stable, though I do get the odd issue with it not connecting but far less than any other rom I've used. I do not use tethering and I know that is not present, but there are apps in the market to do this anyway. SuperUser.zip also happily rooted it with no issues. It does seem to be quicker than other Froyo roms too - so overall I'd say it's worth an upgrade. Be aware that the native messaging app will not work on it for some reason, but Handsent or Go SMS are just fine and dandy - unless you run out of credit (see earlier post by me)
If I had to stick to a single rom this would be the one. I am tempted to go for DSC and I've been told by the author that it can be flashed over this rom - so I may report back when 1.6 is rolled out fully and I've installed it to give a comparison.
I hope this helps!
I've looked and haven't found any links for what I'm looking for which is just the amss and dsp1 files to flash in fastboot... anybody got those uploaded anywhere? I hate to flash the entire ROM just to extract those two, but if I have to then I just have to... thanks guys for any help
