MIUI 3g SIP calling fix for DX? - Droid X General

So, I've been futzing around the MIUI rom for droid x and loving it, but I've still got one problem... the integrated sip calling feature only works on wifi! Has anyone been able to implement the fix suggested on modaco to the DX:
http://android.modaco.com/topic/327770-using-gingerbread-internet-calling-sip-without-wifi/
Alternatively, does anyone know where I can get a sexy skin for GrooveIP, if there is no fix that allows me to use Google Voice and SIP over 3g on the stock MIUI dialer?

Kaiser Conversions

Hey,
I wanted to know if anyone knows how to convert the Kaiser cabs to a more appropriate CDMA version. I have no experience in them, so I have no idea where even to begin. I am hoping someone here knows how, and would be kind enough to change them. A few guys on another website are tweaking the original Touch Dialer, which worked well on gsm phones, but had tons of bugs with CDMA (including enabling data, memory leaks, and disabling ## codes). If anyone can do anything, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
The following from the Kaiser is OK to use, I'm running them and can vouce:
Audio Manager
BT Quicklink
Comm Manager
Home Plug-In
You can also run the new X-Button v1.5.1 Build 30229 and I'm running the Beta CDMA HTC Touch dialer from PDAphoneHome too: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/638252-post57.html
Note that the Voice Recorder and the Network Wizard do NOT apply and do NOT work on our phones.

You can dl the cab for the Kaiser Home plugin and it just works. Same goes for Comm Manager and the rest that he mentioned. So in short, you don't have to convert them at all.
The thing to be careful with is with things like the older version of the dialer/network wizard/etc where we KNOW that they don't work. But once the devs update them (like the dialer has been) you should be ok without need for conversions.
yeah, i've been using the 5 tab home from the kaiser, and the touch comm manager, but that's about it. i heard that even the comm manager has some stuff that conflicts with CDMA, which is why i was wondering. I'm also using the beta touch dialer from paul_hammons, and that works great, and i absolutely love it, but I was just wondering about the other stuff, and when/if it will be converted.
Well you can use the audio today plugin and the audio app too AFAIK

sim sim sevices callback function not working on Blackstone

hey guys, this is what i wrote on miris rom thread:
"ok, this is my problem.
my german sim provider has a callback function for making cheaper calls while being abroad. now, i havent used this function before on my touch hd, but since i am in greece now, every time i tried to call someone with callback activated i got "operation failed". with callback deactivated everything is fine, albeit pretty expensive...
im on miri v26 with 2.5 rev4 using windows default theme. i dont know if this is a touch hd issue or a miri rom pbl. i mean callback function works great with my old SE k700 mobile.
i did a search but all i could find was about other callback feature after hanging up on someone.
can anyone help? thanks in advance."
and then this:
"well, it seems it IS caused by touch hd and NOT the installed rom. installed original o2 rom and still cant use callback. device is unlocked."
anyone knows anything about this? callback is really great on making cheap calls when you are in another country. it works on my k700 for gods sake...
Edit: found a solution. it seems you can do it manually by dialing *123*number#

Sense UI elements on AOSP?

I am running darchstars AOSP2.1 ROM and I have two questions for any enterprising devs, if they have time or can tell me the way to do it.
1)I went from using the stock keyboard to betterkeyboard back to the HTC keyboard. In better keyboard you can adjust the vibration for each keypress to be short, is there a way I can change the HTC keyboard to that as well? I'm not afraid of the command line, but I have no idea where I might start with this.
2)I much prefer the HTC dialer app, with the smart dialing. Is there a way to use that instead of the stock android dialer, or a different dialer replacement that has similar functionality?
Thanks again for any responses!

Basically what you want is Gumbo Bare on 2.1?
I'm also interested in this. I'm playing around with an Odroid running AOSP 2.1, I've gotten google bits to run on it, I found a package that includes the framework etc, and works exactly like it should. Very easy to install.
Finding a similar package for senceUI would be of interest to me.
The ability to take a vanillia AOSP add any flavor I want, google bits, SenceUI, Moto Blur... or anything else would be very nice IMO. Instead of the current... I like this rom because it has.... but I wish it had..... Put it together like lego blocks.

Well, not really. I'm looking for a way to edit the HTC keyboard haptic feedback if there's a way, and to find a replacement dialer for any AOSP ROM since I personally don't like the stock one. The keyboard is a little more important to me, but I was just hoping somebody might know what I'm looking for.

Look through the 2.1 compatible MetaMorph themes.

HTC IME keyboard on Evo?

Anyone using this? I noticed the speech button doesn't work. Anyone have this problem or is there a later version someone can direct me to?
Works great here, been using it since I got my EVO.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416
Works perfect for me
The voice dictation works even better than it did on my Hero
are you using fresh's rom? he removed txt to speech i believe.

MIUI Dialer.

I love the MIUI roms other than one aspect - the dialer. Is there any way to completely replace this with either the default Android dialer or HTC's? I have installed Dialer One over the top but all this does is alter how a call is made but the in call screen and receive call screen (slide up/down to answer etc) stays the same.
Cheers in advance.
Can anyone help with this? I'd love to get HTC's dialer working on this build.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to do it. I currently have an Xperia x10 and I've replaced the Phonebook.apk file (Located in /system/apps) with a modded one. I'd imagine the same concept can be applied to a cooked HD2 ROM. The only problem is if a dialer has dependancies with other services (Like sense dialer), you may come across issues.
No.
HTC uses htc libraries. You won't get them working on another rom.
(That's why you never see HTC apps outside sense )
You can, however, download dialer one or similar from market - or push the stock apk file
I recommend you use rocket dialer
you can find it from the market
Try "go contacts". Best dialer/contacts replacement imho.
