Hi,
Would anyone be able to upload the stock rom included on out-of-the-box Optus GT-P1000's? If not, are there any copies of Telstra's GT-P1000T ROM anywhere?
Thanks heaps!

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you think there's any chance I'm going to find the fully stock ROM as opposed to a pre-rooted Roto build? Or the Optus ROM?
Not for the Telstra rom... Optus were, apparently, testing a gingerbread rom for gtab however when that is released is anyone's guess... Vodafone was also supposed to be releasing a gingerbread stock rom however this also has faded into history...
I spoke to optus and Samsung today re Gingerbread on the P1000. Optus had no comment other than to say they would pass my request to management. The guy from Samsung seemed annoyed with Optus for sitting on the firmware update for so long.
Optus CSC
Been searching both XDA and Whirlpool Forums for an answer to this but does anyone have a copy of the Optus CSC file for flashing through Odin.
Thanks

I've been looking for the same thing for a while.
I'm not sure of your situation, but I would say that a CSC file is probably not absolutely critical. A CSC file only deals with region-specific settings. As long as you enter the APNs manually to get your 3G working (check out AusDroid for your APN) you should be alright. It's possible you might have problems with Optus's included apps, but they're not all that great anyway..
I take no responsibility for anything you try, but I've done quite a few flashes without CSCs and I haven't bricked yet. Your mileage may vary.
Problem is I flashed to overcome before I realised I needed to backup my original firmware.
What I am trying to do is return it back to Froyo 2.2.1 but I can't remember what version of the firmware it was.
I have downloaded firmware from samfirmware but I cant get Kies to update my firmware it just says my version is not updatable through Kies.
Hence why I am looking for the Optus CSC.
I too would like to update to the stock, Optus firmware (even the old one would be fine)
Got a reply from Optus support yesterday and they said they had "no information" on the Tab's Gingerbread update "at this time". They announced in April that the Galaxy S and Tab updates were being tested, and the S has had its update for months, but the Tab's still got nothing.

CheckFus Downloader will allow you to download any rom you choose for your device.
Ive used it on my Galaxy I9000 and I9100 and it works perfectly.
It downloads encrypted kies roms, and decrypts them for you, ready to flash with odin.
Ive downloaded both the telstra and optus roms, but as yet im unable to flash them. Currently have Overcome 4.1.0 on my GT P1000 and for some reason, it stops while flashing the Hidden partition. Have tried repartitioning, and using different pit files, but no success as yet.
At least check fus will get you the current rom for your device, which kies will be able to update once again, verifying its a stock genuine rom.
Check Fus Downloader Website
Hope this helps you out.

So, I have confirmed that the "sdcard" in my SGS is dead. Bell is happy to send it in for repair, but don't have an original Bell firmware on the phone anymore, and I'm concerned about warranty support.
The phone is unable to boot, so I can't use the Kies app at all.
I am able to flash no problem using Odin, but I don't have a source for an original Bell 2.1 ROM to use with Odin. All the stuff I can find has strange filenames (things that don't obviously go into the blanks in Odin).
I'm a relative noob (obviously), but if someone would give me a hand getting a 2.1 Bell FW flashed, I would really appreciate it.
go to sams firmware and download JH2
that's the original stock ROM for Bell
hey!
I am in need of these files too.
Could someone instruct this noobie on how to obtain these files?
My phone randomly softbricked after i listed to the music and i lost my recovery mode along with it (however, i got download still yay!)
I am somewhat familiar with Odin due to the youtube video and tampering with it, but i cant seem to locate the Bell vibrant files i need.
My computer is already updated with samsung drivers and is basically ready to go.

I've tryed samfirmware, samfirmware.com but to no avail :|
Also, can I take an image of my current rom with Odin? Is it the "File Dump" option?
password is samsung-firmwares.com

Hi All,
Hope this is the right forum for this, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience on loading the ROTO JME Firmware onto an Optus Tab, and if so, what were the improvements and were there any traps to watch out for considering the carrier lock?
I had a quick look through the ROTO JME Forum, and can't see much specific.
Regards,
bvd81
I have roto jme on the opus tab. One of the first things i did was remove the carrier lock (now works with three and telstra sims) search on this forum for info
I went straight from stock to the jm series firmware and its much much faster now just write down your internet and mms apn details as mine were wiped when upgrading.
Also if you use the optus apps make sure you only use roto upgrade package or it will wipe them.

Hi Ghostwalker9
Can you pease tell me how you flashed that ROTO JME to the Optus Tab?
I tried using Odin, but I guess it only recognises the Samsung Tab, so do I need the full version of clockworkmod?
Also, did you solve your optus sim problem with the JRE ROM?
Thanks
Greg

Did you install the usb drivers for the tab, and were you in downloading mode?
it should recognize the tab regardless of whats on it
Hi
Yep, had usb drivers installed, can access with adb. Not sure what download mode is though. Will research that one.
So when its in download mode should I use odin to flash the firmware?
Also, just so I'm clear when I say Optus Tab I mean the ZTE V9 tab that Optus has branded, not the Optus version of the Samsung Galaxy tab.
Thanks
Hey does anyone have the stock Optus (current) ROM backed up with all apn, sms, settings, if so please PM me with a link.

I would also appreciate such a link, as some initial glitch with Titanium backup caused me to lose some standard Optus apps prior to a Roto or Nandroid backup.
PLEASE: Take care if you try the batch option to "Integrate updates of system apps into ROM".
While I have no problems with all the great ROMs here, it would be good to go back to stock if I felt the need. Especially to finish off my initial Australian app subscription as I cannot find this app anywhere else.
Much appreciated if possible.
BTW: I am currently on Overcome v1.4.0 and like it very much. The Roto ROMs were also very good.
I'm pretty sure I've done a backup via titanium, but havent tried to restore from that, also i removed overcome 1.4 as thought i had wifi issues which when restored from OEM backup that OC1.4 performed it bricked it, so I had to use a full roto conversion which changed my modem & i assume pit as well.

I cant even find the OEM ROM and Kies or Samsung Website?
Hi Guys,
Ive searched the forum, to no avail...
I would like to flash my Apollo with FroYo, but for safety's sake im trying to find a copy of my original firmware so I can flash it back and use KIES if needed.
If I type in *#1234# I get:
PDA I5800XXJG7
Phone I5800XXJG3
CSC I5800XXJG5
Does any kind person have the relevant files handy for upload please?
Also, If I flash a new firmware should they all match the original (ie the I5800XX part).
Thanks for your help
I posted the same question a week ago. I didn't get a straight answer. I had the same firmware before i flashed to XXJPM. Your firmware is XXJG7, but I didn't find it on samfirmware. I found XWJG7, but I think that is not the same, because there is xxjpf and xwjpf - the first one being older. To update via kies when the official update comes u need an official firmware, XXJG7 is official since u got it with your phone, but u cant find it, can you? So you need any official firmware, but i don't know witch are official except XXJG7... Anyway don't bother with this, you can flash froyo without backup, i did it and nothing went wrong but be cautius and folow the steps closly and when the official update comes it will be avaliable to flash via odin. until then flash any non official froyo
I have this rom and am uploading it now its I5800XXJG3 - csc xxjg5 - phone xxjg5 - pda xxjg7 will post a link soon
here you go
megaupload.com/?d=OYHZW0WX
Thanks
I see the numbers are slightly different, does it matter?
I have also read that flashing the bootloader can cause hard-brick issues, is it better not to flash the bootloader?
i did not flash the bootloader just to be on the safe side, not sure what the cl447760 & cl460190 mean all i tell you is kies see's this as the latest firmware for my phone the uk .
i got the phone three weeks aga at the carphone warehouse it is unbranded and unlocked
Thanks again for your help. I have now upgraded mine to the standard XXJPM FroYo with ODIN. Just out of interest, is there a way I could have got the old firmware off my phone into files like you uploaded?
i think you can dd them to the sd card but not sure how to do it , i googled for ages to find my that firmware on some random site because i did not like froyo after i flashed it
ive gone back to 2.1 until i can find a fix for icons not staying on the home screen from apps installed on the sd card after a reboot. other than that i was pleased with it.
Would This Work ("Workaround" to Receive Latest Kies Updates Where Not Available)?
Hey everyone,
So, I have a Galaxy S2 on Virgin Mobile Canada, and in Canada, the latest firmware/kernel was KG2, and we all know that KG2 is slightly old, compared to KH3 (or higher, I'm not sure atm) in Europe.
Now, we all know that Europe is the first to receive OFFICIAL updates to the latest firmware/kernel via Samsung Kies.
What I'm thinking is that I can change the "Region Code" on my device, to 'trick' Kies into thinking I'm located in Europe, and then it will deliver to me the latest OFFICIAL firmware/kernel update. After updating, I can install the stock KG2 modem for Bell/Virgin (if you're located in a different country, just use your local modem/baseband) via Odin. Then I can use CF-Root Kernel to root my device, then revert back to stock.
This way, I have a Galaxy S2 with the latest official firmware/kernel, a modem that still works perfectly with my provider/network, and root, with no yellow triangle!
However, I don't wish to mess anything up, so I haven't tried this yet. Do you guys think that it can work, and is a viable option instead of waiting for official updates to come to my region? Can anyone maybe try this and post their results/findings (or maybe someone has already done this?)? Also, would all apps like "Samsung Apps" and the Android Market still work properly, as in for my region? What other problems could I possibly run into? I'm mostly concerned about the Market...
I got my S2 free ! from Orange UK 5 days ago, love it, what an upgrade from my 18 months used X10 .
Anyway they do what you want with the X10 so I suppose it can be done with S2 though I dont know for sure.
I used to follow the X10 forum (here now) though I left my X10 stock and was happy with it but I rooted this the 3rd day already and unlocked the simlock ready for my Holiday next week = super low cost local data (50p uk per gig).
What a great device this is !!
Or you can just tell kies to stuff it and flash roms via odin.
Once you update with kies, changing the modem will mean you wont automatically get new updates anyway, as it wont recognise the firmware combination.

So, you're saying that using Odin would be much easier?
Also, I've heard that the KH3 modem works really well with Bell/Virgin, but incase I need to revert, I can always use Odin to flash the KG2 modem while keeping my KH3 kernel/firmware, right?
So, if I just download the Europe KH3 firmware from "http://samfirmware.com", then I just use Odin to flash it, and I'm done? Will it wipe any of my data? Also, would the European firmware work in Canada?

If you have the i9100T You need to use one of the T stock modems or your wifi/bluetooth/data wont work very well/at all (so i hear), but yes you can mix and match rom+kernel and modems from different releases without any problems.
As far as getting a rom, grab a non wipe version from this thread and you should keep everything.

I have the i9100M. I have heard great reports of the KH3 modem with it, so I'm pretty confident it'll work fine.
So, I just download the KH3 files from that link, and then flash via Odin?
Is it a must to flash the CSC as well, or can I leave that out?

The M is fine to use any modem/rom, it will change the model code to just i9100 though, might be changed back by flashing the stock firmware though.
Yes flash via odin.
No you dont need to flash the CSC unless you get problems, but you might as well, the worst that can happen is that you need to manually enter your APN settings.
Hi!
I flashed my P1000 Tab to Firmware 2.3.3 from Overcome before I sold it to a friend. He now wants to resell it on so I want to reflash it back to a standard Samsung ROM so they in turn can do updates in Kies etc.
What is the easiest way to do it - go back to a factory ROM?
I have had a look on Overcome and they say to go to the samfirmware site but I'm not sure which one I want as I seem to be going around in circles.
The tablet is in Australia so it would need to be a ROM for Australia.
Can someone point me in the right direction of what I need to do and where I get the ROM I need etc?
Thanks

Not sure where you'd find one but there were Roto backups of the Telstra ROM floating around somewhere. I don't think theres any ROM dumps for Optus (I've been looking for one for ages) anywhere, but you might be able to try using one of the stock Euro ROMs and see what Kies will do with that.
Remember, however that neither Telstra nor Optus ever released a Gingerbread update and are unlikely to at this point, so Kies probably won't be all that useful.
Hi
So I downloaded this files called P1000NUBJP7_UUBJP7_UBJP3, but now dunno what to do.
Do I install it via Odin somehow, the file above contains a PIT file and also a .rfs file which I guess is the firmware as it is 250Mb.
When I try and add the item for CSC and PDA in Odin there are none in that archive!
Thanks
