Hi!
You must have your device connected to the computer via USB and start the program from Computer

I attempted to update the BIOS on my HP iPAQ hw6940 mobile messenger by downloading and installing the update from hp.com. I discovered during the process that the USB cable I was using was not properly powered and the update failed. The device remains in a serial connection mode and cannot be reset or restarted. The screen is dimmed and displays “serial v.g.39”. Even after solving the USB power issue, the BIOS updater was unable to connect to the device. Syncing through MSDC also fails. Is there a way I can restore connectivity to the device so that I can complete the BIOS update?

Hi, i used to have the same problem........ keep following full restall step again. Restart comp, reconnect Ipaq, 4 buttons your ipaq, make sure all connectons is secure before trying the installaton again. Hp hw6900 series have a "fail safe" rom unlike newer models that why you get the the display Hp logo, V G 0.39, etc. ALL you have to do is reinstall the rom......... if it does not work again, take a 6-24 hrs rest, drain the battery, take out the battery from the ipaq. after 24hrs, place everything back to normal and retry. keep trying till you get the loading........... Happy if you see the loading, dont touch anything til its complete this time.....
enjoy cracking your ipaq... be patience with this ipaq, it has a weak heart
Thanks.
I managed to successfully restore the BIOS via USB by downloading and installing the update from HP.com on my Vista machine. It didn't work from an XP machine, which is what others including HP told me I needed.
Interesting that the 24 hr break and battery drain actually seemed to have had an effect. A weak heart indeed, but not a bad little device. I'm happy to have it back.
Thanks again.
I really hope there is somebody with insight about my problem with my Samsung Omnia b7610.
A while a go I wanted to flash my Omnia (original version 6.5 from Samsung site)
It wend wrong...
When I now turn on my phone and connect it to PC, I only see the Battery charging. When I turn the phone on I only see the SAMSUNG logo.
I remember that before I could see a picture of a phone connecting to a pc. But that picture doesnt come anymore. So I Cant flash the phone anymore.
Hard reset doesnt work.
I tried Octans. Detect device doesnt work.
I use Win7 installed drivers and I can see in System Management that under phones Samsung MIT's USB sync is installed. That's all the phone can do right now.
I hope somebody can help me. Is there for example a way to get into a bootloader menu like the HD2 phone?
Thnx,
I have the i920 omnia...
I have seen similar problems posted by others,Try Octans again.
Set up Octans to flash a new rom, I realize that Octans sets up diffrently for your phone, diffrent from the i920.
select detect if the phone does not start to flash unplug usb for a second or 2 then replug in. MAYBE this will help the detect process.
Worth a try any ways....
Hello,
If your computer doesent detect your phone you probably need to reinstall the usb drivers to your computer. And with that make shure to install the correct ones for win7, because if you dont you have a even bigger problem.
Hi.
Try this, if not tried yet.
i have been doing many ROM flashings on my b7610 (UNDER "WINDOWS XP").
The procedure goes like this (for me):
Switch off your phone (if not so, remove the back panel, take out the battery and place it back).
Open octans (whatever version), drag and drop the desired rom file onto octans
press the detect button (while the phone switched off and not connected to USB)
After pressing detect button, plug your phone to the usb connected to your system
Phone will get detected
Then press start download button.
This is the process in which I flash my mob.
If you already know this, please disregard my message.
{FYI-I have faced worse situation that this-Couldnot even see the logo or anything- the phone was completely dead for 2-3 days. At last something sparked in my mind - the problem was i lost my boot files- so i d/l'ed it and flashed it successfully with octans 2.14 with four different files - now i feel my phone is better than b4. FYI}
BOL.
For some reason, my touch screen just became unresponsive a couple days ago. Called HTC and my phone is still under warranty. However I did install NAND on the phone...
Im in the process of restoring the phone to the original rom but came across one problem.....
Im trying to connect my phone to my pc via active sync but my phone is slide locked...So theirs no way for me to choose active sync when the option pops up. It would always go to "charge only."
Tried downloading mymobiler to control my phone via pc but that also requires activesync.
Any ideas to turn on active sync on my phone?
i just resolved my issue.
just in case anyone else needs the help....
I restarted the phone in boot loader mode (hold volume down when booting up)..and apparently that should connect the phone in USB mode(bypassing active sync.)
Correct, don't forget to uninstall HSPL after installing the stock rom.
Hi guys ,my problem is that when I connect my phone via USB cable at first there is no problem, data transfer , windows mobile device center, everything is OK. But when I want to flash the phone pressing vol-down + switch on/off keys the phone is not connected to the PC. And I can't flash it. Also the phone wouldn't like charge trough the charger ,only with the data cable. Is it possible to have any liaison between the problem with charging with charger and no-connection when try to flash.
Also my phone was to the service for touch-screen change ,is it possible the technician make any mistake ? Cause I think that if he make a mistake with the connector nothing gonna work ,but it works at different situations.
Regards!
check to be sure USB SYNC driver installed correctly and also try a different usb cable.
I'll try but there is no logic ,the cable works when charge the phone, works when is connected to device manager but doesn't works when flashing ?
exactly. the device requires different drivers.
1. there is internet sharing and disk mode (which works with all computers, because those drivers are in the operating system)
2. then there is one driver for syncing
3. and another one for flashing
it is not the same kind of data transfer, which is why you need a different driver. but the thread "[tut] updating htc sync drivers" should cover all your windows vista/7 driver needs and a tutorial on how to install them, which in case of a x64 system can be fairly complicated.
if you already have hspl installed (which you can determine by entering bootloader mode and looking whether it says 1.56Olinex), you can also flash using the sd car method. put a rom of your choice on the sd card, name in BLACIMG.nbh and enter bootloader mode, you will be presented with options to flash the rom.
Ok, but in instructions at the thread you give me is written that I have to start making the steps after I see "USB" on the flashing screen. But I don't see it, it's only "Serial". And now what ? I know that if on the screen i written "USB" the phone and the computer are connected and there is no problem to flash ,but now what ?
well, before you start, put your device into bootloader mode. it will show "serial", then connect it to the pc. test your connection using mtty 1.42 (you'll find several download options here in the forum).
the connection settings for mtty are USB 115200-8-1-No-NONE-None
if it works, connect and press enter, the command shell should show USB> then.
if usb is not present in the connection settings, your connection is not established yet. proceed with the tutorial then. during the entire procedure, the device should remain connected to the pc in bootloader mode, so you install the driver for the right device state.
Hello,
I've problem something like this. Few months ago when i was conecting my phone to computer was everything OK, activesync, disk drive, but now nothing, just charging the phone. I've tryed everything in USB to pc zone, but nothing. When i'm going to bootloader it's writen serial. What can be here?
since you already tried all the different connection methods and even bootloader mode does not connect, there are hardly any options left, where the trouble could be:
- the usb port on the blackstone
- the usb port on the pc
- the cable
you can try another port on the pc (or even better, another pc altogether) and/or another cable, like from a digital camera, an external hdd... (many devices have mini usb cables, you should be able to use either one of those)
Hey everyone,
recently I got a YU Yureka (bought it 2nd hand), and it was all working very well. I installed a custom theme pack and was enjoying the phone for hardly one day. Things started to go wrong when I thought to root my phone. So I plugged my phone into the PC. But the phone wouldn't show. I tried different cable and different ports but couldn't get it to work. It won't even show in the device manager. No android device or No other troubleshoot devices were found in device manager. I tried unplugging and re-plugging while device manager is on screen, and I didn't noticed it refreshing or detecting the device in anyway. I also tried enabling USB debugging and tried to turn it on and off but still no luck. The phone is charging when connected to PC but its not detecting as a device. When I selected USB connection mode in Settings>Storage, it says 'USB is now disconnected'. So I thought I would do a simple restart and see if fixes the problem then came the worst. My phone is now kind of soft bricked. I said that I installed a theme pack before, and I think that was the problem. The theme had replaced my bootlogo so that might have been the problem. So I wiped my device in recovey mode and restarted. Now my phone is not turning on, Its stuck at CYANOGEN screen. The Worse Case Scenario - I can't even flash stock rom cause my phone isn't connecting to PC not even in Fastboot. I'm totally screwed.
Well I don't know if its a hardware issue. and if someone had this issue earlier and solved it, please share your solution kindly..
Thank you

Fixed. It was a hardware problem. Phone is working perfect now
what is real problem i can't say , but if you want to detect your phone by windows automatically ,
shut down your system , unplug power of your computer from main board / turn off ups > unplug ups from main switch > wait 2 minutes .> now in phone developer options > enable android debugging > restart phone > connect phone to pc with usb cable and now plug your computer power in main switch > start your computer that's all
Install windows media feture pack in the computer
