How to run android after installation?

Hello everybody new to this site and think its awesome!! question? i have done everything to install android now i dont know how to get it to run on my phone please help!! everything is installed properly when i installed the os it said firmware installed please reboot your hd2 but i dont know how to start up android please help!!

personally man I think its a troll, I'm guessing you saw the youtube vid and clicked on the link like I did and took a survey to download the files. I'm guessing its fake to make you think it works so ppl would take the survey and make them money. I could be wrong but, I think the ppl from that blog Trolled the crap out of alot of ppl ( myself included)

If you really want android on your HD2 go to this thread... This is about as far along and as good as it will get for us ATM but progress has been moving VERY fast the past couple of day... Good luck

There is no usable android for hd2 yet. And don't expect a version that works as good as an android phone for a long, long time... if ever. If you want android as your daily full-time phone os, you need an android phone.

[Q] How to port/cook an Android ROM for HD2 (chefs please help)

Hello
I'm looking for some hints about the subject: how anyone can take a shipped, let me say, HTC Desire rom and let it work on HD2.
I'm not talking about doing heavy tweaks, modifications and so on... just to take a stock Android ROM and have it working on HD2.
I asked to some chefs and received some hints but It's not enough.
I don't want to think that this is a "secret" and I think would be great if some chef would share his experience/step-by-step instruction on how to do this.
As I said before, I think we could start just with simple porting of a stock htc desire ROM, just to understand all the steps. I think that further steps on how to customize and tweaks will be explored later and anyone could experiment itself.. but we need a basic starting point.
Some step by step instruction will be great like:
1) Download shipped rom from here .........
2) unrar it in linux folder
3) copy this folder, rename the other one, dowload this file, copy this...
4) execute shell command XXXXX
5) copy on your sd card
6) boot...
of course I know it's not so easy, but is just an exaple on what I ask here. I think there are a lot of other perople looking for this.
Thanks to any chef/dev that would to explain to our noobs how to get the "magic"

I ask the moderators to keep, if possible, this thread in the Dev forum... this because we need help from devs here and in the Q&A forum it will be never noticed.

Yes, I was pointed to that thread too. If you look at the end there are some questions I did. The problem is that is based on MIUI... That is already a custom ROM.
I think the better way to understand the process (not just do it) is to have hints on how to port a standard/stock HTC DESIRE rom.

Ideally the same way. In theory it should work...I never tried because sense builds (especially hd ones) are very laggy

Hello, I was just replying on the other thread to thanks you for the answers
I will try to follow your guide to port a stock desire rom (strange that are laggy for you... for me they fly...)
Anyway it's still something not clear about the donor files... If it's ok to take them from an already HD2 working rom or not.. but I will ask on your thread, avoid to make confusion

no one tip from the devs?
I'm start thinking that instructions on rom cooking for hd2 is like a secret

I think you are the only one that shared your findings.. Hope others will do.
Anyway I'm trying just know your guide.. I'll let you know.

you can start with one of the hunderd rom that chefs already cooked. This thread is just to ask help with cooking a rom, you have not to wait.. you already can use android daily on your phone.

I have had success building with this guide but cannot get it to work with cedesmith's new initrd.gz. Does anyone have done tips on how to build with the new initrd.gz?

Did you cook a MIUI rom or a Sense rom or a stock android rom?
For the cedesmith's initrd.gz I was thinking the same thing.. maybe we have to ask directly to him.

[Q] Root help please Coming from the Evo

first thanks to all the devs on this site period point blank!
ok now to my question and I know I'll get a answer from a great community like xda (this is my home)
I'm trying to root my Mytouch 4g tonight following trues method, and while I'm sure this has been brought up in the past even though I didn't see it. I for the love of god cannot get ADB to recognize my Mytouch4g. are there any specific drivers I need to download first before trying the TRUE method?

Not sure what method you are trying but if you are talking about my ADB method, I will be happy to help you out. You shouldnt need to DL anything. The drivers should be on your SD card.

sorry about that bud I thought TRUE was Grankins method that he posted, got it sorted out and am now rooted, but I am curious as to where just for future reference where the drivers are located on this phone on the sdcard or internal? and thank you very very very much for the quick response, it's devs like you that make me love this site!

Its all good, just wasnt sure what method you were using. The True permaroot one. I gotcha now.
You should have a file on your sd card that says HTCDrivers.exe or something like that. If you just click on it it will automaticly install them for you. If you dont have the file for some reason or you cant find them try PDA.net. Or hit me back and I will post them.

bad As$ thanks man, I'll look for it in a bit, and after one night with this phone, I'm gonna start studying up and learning it thoroughly because I really really want to cook up something tasty for this community, you guys give so much, I think it's high time I try to give something back the best I can. Defy MINI xt320: ROOT?

hello!
i bought a motorola xt320 defy mini and i wish to root it. i tried all the ways that i googled (z4root, motofail, superoneclick and others), without success.
i realized that my phone can't be rooted for the time being...although it's no more a very new device, there are no news about rooting.
you are my only hope, phone memory is full with stock firmware and 12-13 apps that i cannot move on sd. so i wish to know: will this device be rooted?can i have some notice about it?

Arpith.fbi, I tried what you suggested, but it did'nt work. At the end of the .bat, my phone did reboot, but it isn't rooted yet. Thanks for the help anyways. I guess we just have to wait for an exploit which will work on this particuliar phone.

Same situation here, after the process finished and rebooted there isn't any superuser apk on it.
Help us, please!!

Same situation here. Is it possible to have some information from the xda team? My internal memory is full, i can't install any new app. In this condition an android device is almost useless. I'll wait for rooting not for much longer, then i'll sell my phone...

Can't remember where I found it but I used Pete's Motorola root tools on my green lensed defy but can't remember if it only worked for 2.3.4. If I get on my laptop later I will upload it so you can try but try Googling it

JB 4.1.2 is the max you can get with wifi.

some one help me then and link me one rom plz i'm tired of searching

In which case get off XDA. There are tonnes of ROMs, pick one and flash it. No searching needed. Simple.
