[Q] Root help please Coming from the Evo

Hey guys,
first thanks to all the devs on this site period point blank!
ok now to my question and I know I'll get a answer from a great community like xda (this is my home)
I'm trying to root my Mytouch 4g tonight following trues method, and while I'm sure this has been brought up in the past even though I didn't see it. I for the love of god cannot get ADB to recognize my Mytouch4g. are there any specific drivers I need to download first before trying the TRUE method?
sorry guys for the q if it's a repost but I would love to get this beast rooted before the nights over and couldn't find an answer after searching for the past half hour all most

Not sure what method you are trying but if you are talking about my ADB method, I will be happy to help you out. You shouldnt need to DL anything. The drivers should be on your SD card.

sorry about that bud I thought TRUE was Grankins method that he posted, got it sorted out and am now rooted, but I am curious as to where just for future reference where the drivers are located on this phone on the sdcard or internal? and thank you very very very much for the quick response, it's devs like you that make me love this site!

Its all good, just wasnt sure what method you were using. The True permaroot one. I gotcha now.
You should have a file on your sd card that says HTCDrivers.exe or something like that. If you just click on it it will automaticly install them for you. If you dont have the file for some reason or you cant find them try PDA.net. Or hit me back and I will post them.

bad As$ thanks man, I'll look for it in a bit, and after one night with this phone, I'm gonna start studying up and learning it thoroughly because I really really want to cook up something tasty for this community, you guys give so much, I think it's high time I try to give something back the best I can. Some days ago I bricked my galaxy s fascinate 3g+... after a long night of reading and search i was able to find the right files i needed, the only problem is that i couldnt recall where i got them from since i was tired.
right now im uploading all those file and as soon as is done i will give u guys the link for it...

they should be good cuz those r the ones i used to unbrick my telus fascinate 3g+, is 2.2... afterwards i update it to 2.3 using kies

Already rooted? Go to the link I posted, post#7. Try and boot into recovery.
Give more details next time. Knowing what you did helps fixing your issue.

I'm having DHD with Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0, i've bought it a year and a half ago, and I never touched it, so it is unrooted and has it's original (stock) room.
Now I'd like to flash a custom rom to it, I've done a lot of research and found out I need to downgrade my device to be able to root it. Now, I've spent hours looking for a proper guide of how to downgrade the device and root it, but found nothing really.
Can you help me? I've almost given it up :S

I am not sure how bootloaded would be..? I tried to re-root again I am getting this error. Could you able to find my mistake from here?

I kept getting that on my first ever root attempt. Turns out it was my lead. Make sure it's the original lead. (mine was actually the original but it was faulty, did charge still though) hope this helps.

You need to use AAHK (Advanced Ace Hack Kit). You can no longer find it on XDA.
But if you search google for AAHK you will find their support page, and you can download it from there.
Also mae ksure to read the manual (called the effin' manual). Don't skip a word!!
Also, since you are on 2.3.5 you need to downgrade. Instructions are on the effin manual.

The guide was written by glevitan, thus, he deserves the thanks. All I did was point you in the right direction (and proof-reading that guide about 5 times before it was uploaded ).

R.I.P My L5 (Swapper2)

Last night, my phone is broken (hard brick). Besides, I lost my ext-sd card (I had to format.). I used Swapper2 program by making a very big mistake. (Efforts to improve phone.)
Swapping normally supported by CM 10.1 kernel. And I'm sure swap supported. I checked swap by Terminal Emulator command. It shows "swap" word (that are supported).
My phone is not responding. Any button doesn't work. Charging doesn't work. USB to PC doesn't work. (PC doesn't detect normally.) :crying:
What should I do now? Is there anything I can do without sending service?

I followed this link. I applied everything. After I turned off phone it died (Could not open any more.). That's it.

I saw like 100 people getting their phone hardbricked after using the swap thing. That's why I won't ever do that bulls*it.
There's still a way, but you're missing one essential file.

How did you hard brick your device??
In my old Samsung phone
I would connect USB and then power on device without battery and then reinsert battery and flash ...
I don't know if it should work but it is worth trying ...

A little off-topic: I (and others) used swapper and swap on lg gt540 and had no problem what so ever. It's scary how easy this new phones can be bricked. Good luck!

What is the point of national roaming?
I'm getting that prompt every time i'm using digi sim calls or data and i have signal on it...

If you don't have network coverage on Digi, you can roam to Vodafone free of charge.
You get that prompt, because Vodafone signal is stronger than Digi's... the phone selects the strongest signal.
