Hi,
I have a HD2 with Hyperdroid CM7 (based on Android 2.3.4). I can access the new Market (Build 3.1.3) ... I get the opening screen. But, if I try to download/update any application/game, I get the following error "The application Market has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".
I have been getting this error for the past few days ... since, I started accessing the new Market. I get this error while connecting via Wifi or 3G/Edge.
Any help ?
I am still a newbie ... so, would appreciate detailed help instructions
cheers,
- manish

I have the original Tmobile mytouch. Recently I thought of rooting it. I used universalandroot and rooted the phone. I then though of removing some stock apps which are not used by me. I used titanium app to remove amazon, IM and IMprovider. I was not aware that removal of the last 2 IM related apps causes issues. The mistake I did was I did not even back up these before uninstalling. After removing these I started getting messages which said com.android.process.gapps stopped unexpectedly. This happened each time I tried accessing gmail or any other google app and also while accessing market. I google the problem an read that this can be resolved by going to settings - applications and clearing data from each google related app and then ensuring sync is disabled and then late reenabling the sync. After I tried this, I was able to access gmail but gtalk and contacts still could not be accessed withthe same error. I therefore thought of doing a factoryreset which might bring the original apps back. I did a factory reset and cache wipe from android stock reboot options but when I rebooted the first message I got upon reboot is "com.android.process.gapps stopped unexpectedly". I tried to sign in into my google account to use the phone but am pretty sure the the factory reset has not resolved my problem. I am currently unable to sign in to the phone using the intial google account set up wizard. Everytime I press finish in the wizard, I get "The application Setup Wizard (process com.android.setupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". Does this mean my phone has been rendered useles???
Can some expert help me resolve this issue? I am a noob and have committed mistakes and need some help fixing them. The phone current has donut android 1.6 on it.
Thanks in advance for your valuable help and time.
Update - Solved
I have resolved the problem. I flashed the phone with sappimg.nbh which took the phone back to the initial state (android 1.5) and this causes the rooting to be undone and also reinstalls the google apps. i dont see the failures due to gapps not found anymore and all is well.
I'm sorry, I know this probably has been asked a million times, but I couldn't find a solution that works for me.
I got a lot of errors for the Market app. For example, when starting an app or disconnecting my USB connection.
The error I got is the following:
"The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly".
I've tried to delete the cache, installed the latest Market, installed an older Market (1.82), a soft reset, a hard reset... nothing helped. I'm using this Android: STAXXTANIUM CyanogenMod 7, with the latest kernel update.
Does someone know a solution for this problem?
After loading the latest gingerbread I am suddenly getting force market errors. Ideas?
Same here. You can always visit the market on a computer and install apps that way... but it's just a bandaid.
Hi folks,
After trying lots of things, I finally followed these steps to get rid of this problem: Force close issue with Android 2.3 Market.
Hope it will work for you too.
Flash a new market
Hi all,
I can no longer install any paid apps on my phone; as soon as I click the "download" button (which shows the price in case of paid apps) I get the error message "an error occured. Please try again". Everything works for free apps; everything also works from my tablet (which uses the same Google account), so it's definitely the phone, not the account that causes the problem.
I have tried it on WiFi as well as on 3G; I have rebooted the phone; I have downgraded the market app from 3.3.1 to 3.2.0. All to no avail :-(
Any help with fixing this is greatly appreciated.
Try to factory restore and when you do set everything up but before go to market and wipe everything and restart
problem resolved?
hi, have you been able to resolve the problem?
i have the exact problem, able to install any free app however no paid ones with same error as you. there is a workaround however, you can purchase from internet browser on your android device.
if you have managed to resolve this, please let me know this is irritating.

No I haven't.I have to admit though that I never tried the factory reset as was suggested. I do not purchase that many apps so the browser work around is OK for me right now.
it could be the rom that ur using.. because when i had MIUI sometimes open others not nd no connection to.. or market has allot of bugs.. try the oldest market not the 1 that looks like applanet the other with top green nd bottom white..
Nook MIUI and been happy for a while but all of a sudden when I go to the market, I can search and see everything but if I try to download or update apps I get a force close.
Ive fixed permissions, wiped data for the app to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Try reinstalling market... (latest version)
Unfortunately this is a big problem with MIUI right now. There is no new development on the MIUI rom for NC, and market causes FC all the time.
There are several suggestions which include freezing market updater, etc., but I have not been successful with anything. I ended up going to MiRage rom because of this problem.
You could check out the MIUI thread in the development section and read the last few pages to see if suggestions will work for you.
