IT'S NOT OFFICIAL VERSION. JUST FOR TESTING PURPOSE.
EDIT : IT'S NOT WORKING ON RETAIL. THEY SAID THEY JUST RELEASED ROM, AND TRIED OURSELVES TO CRACK ROM.

The Blogpost on smafirmware says otherwise.
Samsung released in his servers always roms as WP7_Engineer!
We of SamFirmware found a solution to change the system and flash the roms with succes.
We have only one BIG problem. We can't release this
The roms are copyright by Samsung!
What will happen if we release the solution version?
Samsung could make a case in court against us.
Because the roms are officialy not released by Samsung we can't do this.
The only thing we can do is releasing the rom so you guys can try it by yourself.

Just tried I8700XXKH2. Doesnt work for me.
It does work on retail omnia 7, but they won't tell us how, or samsung could sue them
so what's the purpose of the release if no one can install it???? I can't get it...
We are working on it, keep watching Omnia's developer forum. There are two ways - there is enclosed .cab.pks with OEM update containing new drivers. If it won't boot after that (aka not updated Radio software), we will have to figure out how they figured it out .
thanks guys, keep going!
Hi all, can anybody explain to me what are differences between WP7_Engineer and WP7_Product? Thank in advance.
i think ondraster method may be correct. if you look at the video posted in samfirmware you can see there that the bootloader version is 5.3.0.4 and not 5.3.0.8 so they managed somehow to replace the 5.3.0.8 bootloader from the kh2 rom
Now I am trying to find whether the WP7_PRODUCT and WP7_ENGINEER differ only in the name, or even the certificate itself. If only name, I could patch the flashing tool to skip the check. If certificate, we are screwed and Ceesheim's phone is maybe stuck with 5.3.0.8 WP7_ENGINEER bootloader (I have a working theory about downgrading to KD1 ROM and waiting for official update with WP7_PRODUCT bootloader).
Oh and I can't simply drop the bootloader update - it is part of the radio update .
I believe in you !

Hi all!
I've flashed my Omnia 7 to i8700xxKH2, and it works fine... How can I deploy some apps (like WP7 root tools, etc.) to my phone now?! I've searched all of these forums and topics, but I can't fint the way...
Thanks for helping!
All the best!
i updated too...
but i knew before that you can't load homebrew apps as it's no method yet to developer unlock mango...i hope yet is the right word for now..hopefully not long
hope to replace this word soon...

Recently a new firmware P1000JVJL1 showed up under the Arabic section at samfirmware.com, but it was confirmed that it was NOT an arabic firmware but euro instead.
So I flashed it just to feed my curiosity and it was true. Euro definitely, had Turkish locale too, but that uses normal English lettering.

the following j for 2010
the following l is the month (were we have actually m in the jma version)
and the 1 is version one.
so i don´t really see were this firmware should be a newer one than xxjma

As far as I'm aware the M builds are test builds and not formal releases.
An L would indicate a December build, so it is quite possible it is newer than JMA.

jma was also released in december, so who says that is a newer version, and from where it cames thats an euro version? if it has turkish on board and english lettering, that says nothing. any other languages in?
Any chance you checked what the build date on this one was and what CSCs it includes?

I said that it was "quite possible" that it's newer than JMA, not that it is definitely newer.
Consider the following - JMA is a development build (we know this). At some point that development build will get completed and released, and when it does it ceases to be an "M" build and will follow the conventional naming sequence. If that build is released in December, it will be an L build.
It remains to be seen what this actually is, but we certainly shouldn't discount it based on there being an M build in existence.
Regards,
Dave
i´m downloading it. will see what it says on my tab and if the build date is newer than jma.
will report later....

Am doing the same now.
Should I continue?
The filesystem dates of the flashable files seem to indicate that JMA is newer, and the build numbers confirm that assumption: 759588 > 739553 (07/12/2010 > 01/12/2010)

you can stop it if you want.
i think this firmware is not newer as jma, as file dates are from 30.nov / 1.dec.
jma files are newer. for that i will not flash it to my tab unless somebody really proofes me that:
a) its a newer version,
and
b) its an euro-version.
Ok tried it
This firmware is for the turkish tablet and it doesn't contain the fixed browser (introduced in JM6)

Traditionally, Milestone and Prototype are internal. However in the SGS series we have repeatedly seen them on "production" releases (yes, both M and P).
In truth it is now hardly possible to compare newness based on name alone. There have been instances where (x) has been newer than (z) as well. Not to mention the last character can only be compared if comparing to the exact same region and product codes.
Hi All,
After playing a low bit arount with custom rom (FroYo 2.2), I would like to rollback to the samsung original Sw (2.1 Eclair)
My phone is 5800 (black one) sold without sim operator
Can somebody point me where I can find the Row and if I can install it with Odin. Do you know if I will be able to upgrade afterwards with Kies?
I've tried with 5800XXJK1 but Kies says no possible update
Many thanks my buddies,
Ebt
sure! just log on to samfirmware.com and search for ur official firmware.
Hi Thanks for your reply.
But how can I make a difference between official fw and custom ones? based on the password?
# Pass = samsung-firmwares.com
## Pass = samfirmware.com
If I presume that, the last off. fw is I5800XWJH2 # from August 2010 correct?
And correct me if I'm wrong, once flashed with the above fw, kies will directly detect my 5800 and propose me an update if available?
Thanks again
Hi All,
Nobody to help me Pls help me on that topic
I've been thinking, maybe the oldest one is the original one? 5800XXJF8 June 2010?
Thanks again for your help

Hi Guys,
I assume that in the UK, we can use XW or XX, according to, for example this website http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/t-706422.html
Getting that out of the way, I assume that JPN is "newer" than both JPF, JPM and JPI
Is my logic correct? I gave up waiting for Samsung and KIES yesterday and just flashed JPN via ODIN. Can't believe I waited months, it's a vast improvement.

Ah ok! But how do you know that for certain? Have you tried JPI then? I know you appear to be the best custom ROM chap out there but I'm not ready to make that jump yet

Much better than England I'm sure!
I5800XXJPQ is just released FYI
PS do you know this?
Do you know why the bootloaders "brick" phones sometimes?
People remove the bootloaders from the tar files to avoid this, but aren't they updated versions and required ever?

Gave up on Samsung New Zealand yesterday.. been waiting for months as well.. flashed I5800XWJPF_XENJP1_XXJP4.. I have no regrets.. using it in conjunction with ADW launcher Ex pro.. very satisfied with this firmware up till now..

Bootloaders can brick, because if something were to happen while flashing the bootloader you probably wouldnt be able to boot or get into download mode and flash another rom (which you could do if anything else went wrong)
Guys how can U tell which version you run ?
Here's a SS of my device : URL not permitted yet .
In the 'Baseband' section says XXJP4 , but on the bottom it is XJPL .
I'm interested (and frankly new to all this , even though I got my phone 4 months ago) in Kyrillos rom and someone told me I need a specific firmware version to install it .
Is the stock JPM bug free? Like is it stable and does everything work properly i.e data, camera, player etc...
Please reply fast. I am new to flashing and I have thought of flashing this ROM. This would be my first ever.
Is this the stock or pre-production ROM because I'm not sure.
My tablets code is XSG (it's UAE) but I needed more keyboard writing languages so I asked the guys from the shop where I got it to add some or change the ROM but only for a stock one, I don't need a rooted one (still )
Anyway, in Kies now I can't update my software because it says that it doesn't support updates via Kies but before the ROM change I was able to...
This is what I ended up with... maybe it is the ROM for Russia, because I saw it on one of their sites...

Nope, your build and baseband are XXLA4 and XXLA3, which translates to:
XX = Open ROM (non-region specific)
L = Year 2012 (K was 2011, J was 2010, etc.)
A = Month of January (B is Feb, C is March, etc.)
3 or 4 = Version made that month.
So, your modem baseband was the 3rd build made in the month of January in 2012. Your ROM build was the 4th one made in the month of January in 2012.
When I bought my 7.7 back in January, it came pre-installed with ZSKL2. So that was the Chinese/Hong Kong specific ROM, and it was the 2nd build made in December of 2011.
If you had a pre-production ROM on your device, it would probably be something like XXKI3 or the like... I just made that up BTW.
Thanks... but does anyone know why I can't update with Kies?

It's possible that your ROM doesn't tally with their servers or you set the csc wrong.

The " Device 7 Binary 6 " error means that this version of firmware that you want to install has an older version of bootloader. and by installing the wrong firmware, that means your bootloader version has changed into a new one, maybe the newest by now. What your phone is trying to say in other words is that you can't downgrade your bootloader.
Explanation for what I wrote above is quite simple, ignore the last 4 characters on each version that you posted here, and you have: G935FXXS7xxxx and G935FXXS6xxxx.
Using TWRP is the best way to avoid the problem of different versions of bootloaders.
Though, you shall wait for samsung to upload a newer version if you trully wish to have your phone stock 100%.
