I had the idea (well, just a though) a while ago when I understund how the phones os works so I though I could just rip some cables and make myself a computer keyboard hooked up to the phone. I was like "Why not!" and then I realize my phony isn't some super duper future incredible desire htc witch could have a keyboard driver like in some video I saw. I want it because just for the sake it could be done.
So before I start ripping spare ports I would like to know is this possible?is it possible but it doesn't support it without modding? or this is already done and I miss it cause I couldn't find it
Also is this in the right section?
So I'm guessing the bootloader must be cracked first in order to let the device go on host mode.

Guys,
looking for some of your very expert help here.
I have a program that turns my NT4 work laptops USB into a COM port. This software is specifically for using Pocket PC's on NT4.
Now, its only AS 4.1 that supports WM5 devices - I've read that it is possible to 'frig' the AS4.x proggy to get it to install on NT4, however i've no idea how to do this.
Do any of you super experts know how to do this?
Fingers crossed!

Didn't the place that you've read it from proride anymore details? I guess not, otherwise you wouldn't be asking it here.. My point is...get back to the source? no?
I have the dev guys at the USB for NT place looking into it for me - however it was a couple of google groups that had posts saying there was a way to get this working - with a bit of jiggery-pokery.

Check this out. Looks like it's just been published. Now obviously the touch isn't working, hence the reason for the hosted keyboard and mouse (which I find quite interesting to be working well). Other than that everything seems to work perfectly, even wifi!

So would there be a way to actually run this now as the Linux kernel seems patched and ready to go thanks to the devs. Would it just need a regular copy of ubuntu armel? Or will we need some extended drivers?

Oh come on don't be so stereotypical. Honestly, where would I get all the info I got if I wasn't following that thread? If you read the 1st post again, I'm clearly not a lazy person who refuses to use search. Seeing as though that link was posted four hours prior to when I created this thread, obviously someone has gone ahead and found how to put a semi functional copy of Ubuntu on the HD2, on top of the new Linux kernel. Anyone have useful information to add?
I know I'm supposed to search the forum first and well, I did but I couldn't find anything which was near what I want to ask.
So, I got a HTC Touch HD from my father (he's old one) and because I don't like windows that much and because I'm using linux on my laptop anyway I wanted to put on Android and well... it worked without any problems (Android 2.2 (FroYo)). Now I wanted to look some stuff up... like how to connect my HTC to my Laptop or how to turn it off... very basic stuff and when I wanted to look it up in the wiki it was kinda strange because it was telling me about the camera and stuff and on the description of FroYo it already says that camera doesn't work and well... it doesn't but that's not the point here.
So my actual question is: Is the forum for FroYo or is it for Windows?
Sorry for making such a large question . Thanks in advance
P.S. forgot to post which link I mean: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:HTC_Blackstone.png

Twonky. They have an Android Application and a Desktop Server Client.
You'll need Wi-Fi to make it work though.

perfect thanks ill check it out.
ohm that seems to just be used for streaming music, video, and pictures....what i need to do is show my android screen up on to a projected screen and show people how to do things on the phone. Kind of like what they do at Google IO when they give live demo's from the phone and the phones screen is projected up onto the large screen so everyone can see it.

never tried it.. but it might be what you are looking for

Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
So USB 3.0 on paper has great speed. I need some ideas on how to impliment video through it. Don't just say it cant be done every other forum says that and this is not every other forum this is XDA. Any ideas? You just read it, yes you. You had a thought but never posted it. That was the thought I needed to implement a idea.
Thanks Guys and Gals
When you say "video through it" do you mean that you want to run a USB screen, or that you want to watch videos stored on a flash drive/external hard drive?
