Ripped/Leaked (Not "froyo") Market issues

I'm not referring to the "new" "froyo" market we've all had. I'm talking about the new Market that's not realeased yet, but has been ripped and passed out on IRC. It closes at random all the time, and has other random issues. Is it just me or is this happening to others? I know there's at least a dozen times it was given out while I was in IRC so hopefully there's fellow users reading this. To clarify which one I mean I attached a screenie...

It wasn't leaked or ripped. A user got it, I packaged it up for everyone else. The market was PUSHED to him.

Of course I cant find it now, I read of the new market that was ripped from some device, as of now I dont remember. It was leaked out seeing as the new market isn't being officially pushed out for "a couple weeks" according to Google. I'm not a mind reader so I didn't know of anyone's magic workings. Just what I've read.

No offense, but what you read, and what reality is, are rarely the same on the internet.
Stick to IRC, stay off the blogs. You will be better off.

If you are having that many problems, you might want to try fixing permissions. Most irc users needed to do that after the flash (note i didn't).

They are there, but I don't recall how I got to them. I'll let you know if I do.

its weird to describe, you can scroll vertically on top thru a list of new apps
when you click on a app everything is all on one page now, updates pics and comments
its listed as my apps now

new app market look and feel
Hey I have it on my evo 4g too. I opened up it up while helping a friend root his fascinate phone and saw the change. Did it come as some type of download?

Ya im guessing, looks better if you ask me. The update all seems to be working better
Gingerbread roms right around the corner, alot of updates coming out haha

There is a GAPPS update posted in the N1 forum that has it, it comes with some extra junk including ROM manager in the sys/app folder and a few N1 updates but it flashed and works fine on my Evo.

hey guys. thought id fill you in on some info then ask for a favour
as you all know j.Anderson is a tremendous pain in the kneck. and has been banned for being one.
however another thread popped where you all speculated its was his second account. the thread was deleted but im here to tell you it was his account.
the reason im telling you this is because now i know he is not beyond making sock-puppets to make stupid posts
so the favour i want to ask is, if you see a post that seem familiar in wording or content. as well as reporting via the correct methods could you also let me know.
weve had this issue before with another user not long before 2.1 was due to be released and i dont want it to happen again

I found it in system/media/music/data
20000211000/5588809
(take that file and unlock the phone)
then open file manager and type this into system/app
*DURR..... AHHH DURRRR*

Avoiding using the word "warez" does not obfuscate your intent, since that is the only sort of app that would be banned from XDA. That is, unless you can name some other exception that you are specifically looking for.

Not wares, just an alternative market. I won't vouch that every app is legit and safe but they have a lot of apps that got the boot from the official play store that I don't see anything malicious about them. Be careful. A couple of examples are emulators from yongzh and adfree android. His emulators were very highly rated but got the boot for some trumped up terms of conditions violations with Google play. I don't know the story behind either but many of the apps that used to be on the play store, but aren't any more, and were legit, and not malicious, are over at slideme.org

How to get app reviewed and increase the downloads??

People who has downloaded the app used it have given good rating and feedback. But still downloads are not at all increasing.
All my request to app info sites for review has not been replied or they will ask for money
Looks like there is no scope for good developers with no budget

That's not true: if the app is worth it will be reviewed by some important site such as xda portal (for free) and will start getting a good amount of downloads. Of course you need to keep on promoting on the forums etc.
By the way, what's your application?

I don't know it was my experience till now. Had sent review request for several sites but without any luck.
BTW my app is True Launcher on Play

I can't find it. Maybe there is a problem with the distribution settings in the developer console?

I've had more success sharing my app on Reddit and tweaking the keywords in the description than with review sites myself.
I have also added a review prompt in the latest version which seems to be helping so far, fingers crossed.

Google Play has some free channel to help developers promote their apps, but that requires some downloads in some days or something like that.
So, you can try make cooperation with someone, and recommand your app via partner channel.
then you may have the chance of listing in Top New Free to Google Play. :laugh:

I think here XDA forum is also a place for hunting partners :lol

Getting some websites to review your app sure can be challenging. Those websites get hundreds of emails a day and it is hard to scan through all of them, but some of them might pick you up on the offer.
I personally posted on Reddit and it didn't get much attention...I might need to try it again, but maybe people didn't like the app...

Sorry, what do you mean with "some downloads"? 10k? 100k? Thank you..

I believe that the best always rises to the top.You do not even need to market your app.It only takes a man to download your app and get the ball rolling.If your blog is interesting and useful,you don’t need to do much else.Example of this is the popularity of Instagram.

This only works for some very special cases; for the others, a bit of "push" is necessary.

To my mind, the quality of the app does evrything by itself.

We had the same problem after we have launched (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/good-weather/id601784766).
We found out that the best way is to approach our users who were engaged with the app.
We thought of a compelling way to ask them to rate us at the store /share the app with a friend/ tweet etc and it worked beyond our expectations...
Bottom line - when you ask someone who likes you nicely at the right time you are much more likely get respond.
We have since decided to develop it to a product which other developers can use - www.kudos-kit.com

Right now Reddit is a good way to promote your app, but best way is here in XDA.
Also, post it on forums allways can help a lot, since most of review sites are not free....
