Hello ;
How i solve this ?
When using the Android Market website, a device will be grayed out if it isn’t compatible with the app you’re attempting to install. Most commonly, this occurs because the app isn’t designed for your device's screen size or version of Android.
HELP !!!!!
Why do you want to install an app which is not compatible with your device?

-build.prop file with dalvik.vm.heapsize=70m and the ro.build.fingerprint changed to that of a nexus s.(this should allow you to see ALL the apps in the market)

Hi!
I have a tattoo, with nFinity GB 0.92.
Works perfect.
When i try to install apps from web market, the web market do not allow to install them because it detects i have a tattoo.
There is no problem with the OS as it is GB.
So, is there any way to install them form web market?
maybe cheating some file?
any idea?
thanks!!.
Try market enabler, maybe this will help. It's very useful app.
Are you sure tattoo is supported by this app?
Sent from my HTC click using XDA App
I installed winamp 5 minutes ago ... and it was correctly downloaded
i'm using cm7 RC3

What do you mean?.
I will tery again.
There are some apps (this do not happen with all apps, just some), that requiere OS 2.1 or 2.2.
Since my Tattoo is using GB, that means 2.2.3 this apps its supose that will work.
My problem is:
When i try to install them form the market, using my desktop computer, the web market do no let me to install them. It It says that my device is not supported.
Even more, if i get the APK file from other way than the market, i copy the file to my SD, then i can install it on my Tattoo form its file explorer.
1. Could it be because the webmarket, asumes that Tattoo uses Andorid 1.6 by default and thats the reason it dont let to install?.
2. I dont this it is a Screen Resolution problem, because it happen with common applications. I could understant it will happen with HD games.
3. So, The BIG DEAL, Is there any way to cheat the android web market so it thins i have a diferent device than a Tattoo, maybe a desire?
THANKS,
some apps won't install on tattoo no matter which version you got...

I think you didnt understand what i mean.
If i get the APK file anywhere and i copy to my SD card, i can install it, working fine.
If i try to install tha app from the web market, the web market tells that my device is not supported.
So, is there any way of cheating the market, or the device, so the web market thinks i have, i.e. a Desire and so let me intall the app, from the web market?

Sooo, any specific app here, or are you referring to the market apk itself?
Please search before posting
There is a search function guys. This is my fourth time posting this as a reply to this very issue for someone.

I had this problem when I published an app, so I monkied around with it until I figured it out. When I disabled copy protection on my app, suddenly it was compatible with my device (Sony Xperia Play) and I was able to install through the android market.
Copy protection is now deprecated and is being replaced with a new licensing feature, so assuming licensing doesn't have the same bug this problem will in theory be phased out.
So if you are a developer and some people can't see your app, disable copy protection and use licensing instead. I also suggest using the Android SDK built in ProGuard feature to obfuscate (scramble) your code to make it harder to reverse engineer.
Hmmmm. it seems that my problems with Android Market was due to the DPI change which I made - the display density.
I changed my HTC Desire back from 200 dpi to the default value if 200 dpi, after that I cleared Android Market data and cache and restarted the phone.
After that on Android Market the problem with the "This item is not compatible with your device" error on some applications was fixed.
P.S. For changeing the display density you can use one of this apps from the Market: LCD Density or LCD Density Changer
Download the nook tweaks and nook odds and ends apps from the market.then go to display settings in one of the apps,I forget which, and change LCD density to160 reboot try then

I get this on many apps including facebook. They all say they need to be updated but when I try to update they complain. I'll try to upgrade to the latest nightly when I find some free time.

You may want to avoid the latest as it has a few issues. 7.1 stable would be a better choice.

Ditto. It didn't work for me either.

(Sorry, my n00bness won't allow me to post a hotlink.)
This fix worked for me after trying all of the previous in this thread.
Only thing missing in the link is granting SuperUser permission to FileExpert. If it doesn't have SU "mount" won't show up in the list.

I'm using HTC HD2 with haldricc's Rom "SENSATION XL V 3.0 stock ALL IN ONE (marc v0.1.8 ker)".
I have the same problem, I cannot install some applications. Once I find the apk file, I installed it and worked but not thru market.
THe solution does not fit in my problem since my lcd density is already 240. I guess every application looks for some parameters.
Any solution for me ?
thanks

Hi,
I've got a problem with the Android market.
I'm running Hyperdroid on my HD2 and was trying to download the App "SlideIT" from the Market.
Unfortunatly there is no download or install button on the Market app on my phone.
I tried using the Market via the browser on my PC and there it says that "this app is not compatible with my HD2". So I can't install it from there either.
Is it possible to make the market think that I'm using a desire or something? Could anyone help?

dude, i think that the problem is in your android rom, the app u need , might not be capable on running on your rom. But there is always a way out.
Weather u can flash another rom, or rather if u dont want to do it u can simply go to 'THIS LINK' , u can download all the apps from your pc. and put the fil in to your mobile via disk drive.
open the file explorer
and just install the app, and enjoy.
"Dont forget to push the 'Thanks' button.
Well I was using the software (SlideIT) before on my rom, but accidantially deleted it. So it's working on my rom.
I guess the problem is the phone model name which seems to be transferred to the Market.
I mean there isn't any HTC HD2 Android device except for the ones with custom roms.
I guess it would be helpfull to change the modell name to Desire or something like that. But it doesn't seem to be possible.
As I bought the App in the market it seems there is no other way to get the (full) version anywhere else.
Is there a way to downgrade the Market app to the old version?
EDIT: found a way to downgrade to the old market version (http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-downgrade-android-market-3-0-26-to-old-market-tip/) and with this one I can download the App again!

You have two options:
1- Forget about installing most apps (as most of the apps are incompatible with our "Androided HD2")
2- Remove the new market, and install the old one (v 2.X.X.XX) and use market enabler + edit build.prop to match the device's compatibility.
Thx man, i'll try this tomorrow!!

Here is the old market:
https://sites.google.com/site/droidlife35/home/android_market.apk?attredirects=0
install normally, and freeze market updater using Titanium Backup Pro or remove "MarketUpdater.apk" from /system/app/ (after making a backup) then go to settings>app>manage>market>uninstall updates.
And the build.prop is located in your phone in /system/
edit the following lines:
Code:
ro.product.model=
ro.product.brand=
ro.product.name=
ro.product.device=
ro.product.board=
ro.product.manufacturer=
to match the ones on the device you want to disguise as.
market enabler can be found in the market (requires root)

What does the new market use to determine compatibility? It sounds like it used to use SIM + build.prop data, but now uses something else. IMEI maybe?
It looks like the apps just specify which features they use and the market determines if your device supports all those features. Which leads me to think that the market either has some profile for the HD2 or we are being evaluated using some "default" profile for unknown devices. Given this, is it know what features the market thinks the HD2 supports vs. does not support? Is there a way to get Google to update (or create) the profile for the HD2?
Thanks

Yeah I think that's just it. It looks for device's identity(in build.prop), LCD Density and SIM's number.
Hi I'm pretty new to this and I don't really know how to get rid of the marketupdater.apk. I have the AmeriCan Android SD method for HD2, any help would be great!
Thanks.
I am trying to install an app from my TV provider that will let me watch tv, control my dvr ect. They have a Kindle fire version and an android version that works on select devices. The problem I am having is that once I install a rom, the app states that the device is not compatible. Im assuming this is because, the android app wont have the KF on its list of devices since it has its own separate app. Is there any way I can change what my KF is identified as in order to use this app?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
