Sooo my usb port broke I took it apart and found it broken but not only that but I found a broken thin cable I believe its called, AC FPC cable or something, any clue what that ribbin like cable does?

I believe that is the wire for the hard buttons (call, home, windows, back, hang up). If it's broken and you assemble it, those buttons may not function.
Just did a similar repair on my wife's hd2 you can search YouTube and find some great instructional bids there. Good luck

I use CM7 and the "Car Mode" is just 6 large buttons that take you to another app.
I always remove it via Titanium Backup.
Has your handset ever been connected to your car via bluetooth or dock?
Yeh I connect it for calls and.music to my headunit
Looks like I need to download nodock

This happened to me too. May seem stupid but solved it by properly cleaning the USB port with a air blower and a toothpick, a lot of lint came out which probably was causing some pins to short circuit, read about it somewhere when I was searching for a solution for this! Hope it helps!

You have to stick a screw driver the usb port and bend it up slightly. The pins arent making contact with the board. Search my name. I made a post on what i did.

I have attached for everyone interested, here are the Component replacement and schematics for our phone.
On that note, I keep seeing in the component replacement that there is a coaxial connector, is that for a wifi antenna? I have a few old wifi antennas from old laptops that have the same connector as that... if one of these connectors works with those coaxial and it is for a wifi then I would like to try it.
Can anyone tell me if this is a coaxial for wifi? Thanks... not meant to be a question thread, but it sort of turned into it.... this is still more of a "
here you go" kind of thread
Due to size limitations on XDA I have posted them below

In regards to the coaxial plug in the component pdf, this is what I am referring to with my little question about that coaxial plug being a wifi plug...

you're not going to be able to install another wireless card into a phone using the connectors...

I took mine apart and the coaxial connectors are too small. I ran a wire underneath the wifi sticker and connected a stripped end to the underside of the wifi antenna and ran it down about half way along the side of my phone inside. I can now get about 50 further away from my home wifi then before

Bought a brand new Nexus 7 and it won't charge unless I twist it put pressure on it. Is this a common problem straight outta the box!!?? I already returned it once today because original one I bought had been open.

Same here. Except I'm not forcing it in plug it in it shows not charging but it is. Go Asus. U suck.

No problem here, just to make sure u use the provided USB cable and the provided power adapter
my usb cable is messed up. The small connector - the plastic piece that has the usb symbol on it is loose and it just comes off.. I dont really want to return the device just for that because mines is charging fine but still... it's kind of a nuisance.
Today when i woke up and powered my nexus 4 i noticed the volume buttons weren't working and they felt a bit weird. I have no idea how this could've happened as they working fine the previous night and i didn't drop it or get it wet or anything. When i moosh the middle of the buttons really hard sometimes the volume panel thing pops up so they still work to an extent. The thing that worry's me is for rooting related things like rebooting to recovery or if i need to hard reboot. Anyway i was wondering if anyone knows a way i can fix this? Maybe replacing the volume rocker if that's easy to do?

Any online guides you can link me to? And places for parts?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
EBay for the parts. You'll need a Phillips and a torx5 screwdriver for the repair. Look at ifixit for reference but don't bother removing battery.
So my wife dropped her phone...screen isn't cracked, I've got her using my old note 4 for now, but wanted opinions on what is going on and whether I can fix it or not.
Thanks!

The display ribbon cable might have gotten dislodged. Google ifixit. There should be a guide on how to open the device. See if you can re-attach the ribbon cable.

Cool, that's what I was thinking too, I'll give it a shot.

I had something similar happen. OLED screens can have this "bleeding" effect when dropped. Mine started off fine after a drop and progressed to unusable like that. I ordered a repair kit and a screen with frame and did the replacement myself. Just look on Amazon and make sure you get one that says it's made for our model: the frames are slightly different and the cable to connect the buttons near the bottom of the screen connects to a different place on the strip on the side. These words make more sense looking at the inside of the phone ;P
