Hi guys,
I have XDA II with wm6.1 by c_shekhar. I have a problem, when i go to send a new message (or reply), I click on the menu button and the Insert Item field is greyed out. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would like to insert contacts in the sms..
why not click add recipent
or simply click on the to: label that adds too
I've got no problem with that. but I want to insert contacts in the text area, for example.. I want send sms to my friend telling him my father's mobile number etc.
oh yea, the 'add recipient' also greyed out when I click in the text area..
is this a bug?
Can you easily switch between Sim Contacts and Phone Contacts?
Can you select where you want a new contact's details saving, either phone or sim?
I am currently using the contact list on my phone and not sim and notice next to each contact there are arrows like this (< >) Any ideas why please?
Thanks in advance

All contact are stored in the phone. If you want to store on the SIM, you can go to the SIM-manager in the contacts menu.
The arrows show which is the default method of contact. You can switch type by pressing left or right with the joystick.

When I press the arrow keys the word txt shows...
Allowing you to send a "txt" to that person.
Hi,
Is there a way to send an sms to all contacts?
Also how do you select multipe contacts for messaging - do you really have to do one contact at a time as I have been doing, or can you "mark" multiple contacts?
Cheers.
In the list of Recipient type the contacts following bij a semicolon.
for example:
contact1; contact2; contact3 etc
Hi, same thing here. Do you get a "check names" option in the forward message opiton box that doesn't do anything? Is there any way of adding a check box to the contacts menu? Would be nice. I've searched the whole forum and can't find any answers. Search brings up no matches either.
Thanks.
I dont know about 'all', but multiples are easy, just keep clicking the To button and selecting your contacts from the contactlist (one at a time).. A checkbox would have been neater tho.
Try google for Group SMS. It lets you list your contacts by category, and checkbox those you wish to SMS to.
I'm sure I had that one. If anyone finds it, please post a link.
I have catagories set up, why can't I just text a catagory and it messages them all..
Eaglesteve! Searched as you said and installed Groupsms. Works great.
Cheers and thank you.
Hi!
My Hero doesn't import all SIM contacts.
"People" is open, inside are only SIM contacts. I'm pressing "Menu" and "Import", selecting "Phone" as contact type and pressing "OK".
It shows progress bar, but it ends during importing. I have 98 SIM contacts, but only 59 on them were imported to phone. No error message.
Any suggestions? Can you confirm it?
My HTC Hero runs the new official ROM.
Hello
Firstly gotta say I love my new Nexus since I upgraded from the Hero
But I have a few issues an wonder can you help
1. On the hero when on in the internet browser you could press and hold the screen an a box would open for you to "Copy Text", But with the Nexus it is not there,
Is this available anywhere?
2. I have contacts which were taken from the sim card then I moved the rest of them over using my GMail account,
I can select all contacts In my contacts open but when i go to SMS option i dont have them all. If i choose contacts I can choose the person then send text but not by sms menu
Thanx
I don't know about your second question, but to select text in the browser just hit the menu button> more > select text
